The rest of the day went by in a blink of an eye. As time went by, the teens got more and more excited to see their friends again. Marinette and Adrien planned everything. Every single second of their weekend together. Marinette could not be happier. It helped that Adrien had gone back to acting normal. His funny and flirty, confident attitude was back, and Marinette loved it.
Adrien, on the other hand, had been struggling all day. No matter how hard he tried, his heart skipped a beat when Marinette was close. Her touch and kind words were like ecstasy for him, and he wanted nothing more than to be able to call her his. But of course, there was Luka. The tallest bump on the road yet.
As the day came closer and closer to an end, Adrien had made up his mind. This weekend he would forget about Luka, Marinette was all his, and he will fight for her no matter what, especially now that he would have the help of their two best friends.

The bell had rung, signaling the end of the day. Like the speed of light, both Adrien and Marinette hurried to pack their things to meet their best friends. Alya had texted Marinette during the last period, letting her know they had landed. Adrien had set it up for them to pick their friends in the airport. Luckily it was only near minutes away.
Not placing much thought to it, Adrien laced his fingers through Marinettes' pulling her with him as they ran to the car. Marinette couldn't explain it, but somehow it felt different. She was not sure whether it was just his happiness radiating towards her or the situation they had recently gone through, but it was different. The fact that Adrien cared so much for her enough to confess he didn't want to lose her made her feel warm and tingly inside. Almost the same way she felt during her months of being crazy in love with him.
As the teens ran through the halls and out of the school hand in hand, Marinette couldn't help but notice how her hand fit perfectly into his. Marinette felt a blush creep up her cheeks. She couldn't help but wonder if this is how it would feel if they were dating. 'No! Bad Marinette, you are dating Luka. Adrien is just a friend! Luka is amazing!' Marinette scolded herself. Why was she all of the sudden thinking this? Marinette couldn't explain it, but somehow it just felt right. 'No! Stop it, Marinette!'
Marinette's thought washed away the second she felt Adrien come to a sudden stop, pulling her back harshly, making her bounce back and onto his muscular chest. "Ouch, Adrien! What in the world?" She called out, rubbing her shoulder. Not hearing an immediate apology like usual, the bluenette looked up. Adrien was staring straight as if he had seen a ghost. Mouth opened, eyes widened, and happiness shining through.
Deciding to look at what the blonde he had been looking at, Marinette turned around. "AHHHHH, ALYA! OMG! I MISSED YOU. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? WEREN'T WE GOING TO PICK YOU UP!!" Marinette yelled in excitement, running towards her best friends, Adrien doing the same towards Nino. "Hey, girly. I missed you too. Well, yeah, but we wanted to surprise you guys." Adrien couldn't help but stare at the girls as they hugged. He loved when Marinette smiled. Adrien bit his bottom lip and blushed as he admired the happy bluenette in front of him, which did not go unnoticed by his visiting besties.

It was officially the first night of their best friend's weekend extravaganza, and the teens had spent hours catching up. The more time passed, Alya and Nino couldn't help but notice how enamored Adrien was by the bluenette. It was as if the roles had reversed, and Alya loved it. Now, she knew of Marinette's relationship with Luka, and she had been happy for her friend, but if she was true to herself, she wished it was Adrien instead of Luka.
Alya was one hundred percent certain Marinette would never be as happy with Luka as she would be with Adrien. No ill will towards Luka, he was a great guy, but everyone could see Adrien was her soulmate. Many times had she seen Luka and Marinette together before she left, and if she is honest, her best friend never looked as excited as when she was with Adrien. The same went for Adrien. If only the blind teens would see that. That is when she got an idea. If they can't see it themselves, then she would push them in the right direction.
"So, what I want to know is what is going on with both of you?" Alya asked, breaking the silence, and just like that, both teens found themselves blushing. Marinette tried hiding her blush by once again scolding herself for wishing there was actually something there. She was with Luka. Luka made her happy. Right? Adrien blushed for a second until a frown made his way to his face as he remembered the bluenette's relationship with the guitarist. He felt as if his heart was crushed for the millionth time that day.
Adrien looked towards Alya to notice her staring back at him. Just then, he realized she had asked that on purpose. Alya was testing him, and he had just revealed himself to her. Adrien felt his eyes begin to water. He did not know what to do. It was not like he could confess he loved her, but if he heard the phrase just a friend from her one more time, he would break.
"What? What do you m-mean? I'm with L-Luka. Adrien and I are best f-friends. You know that. Why would you ask that, Alya?" And there it was! FRIENDS! That damn word. Adrien quickly hid his face and cleaned a tear from his eyes. Did she even know how much that word hurt him? Did she even care? The blonde took a deep breath in an attempt to calm down, but he was losing his cool fast.
'Calm down, Adrien! She doesn't know how you feel. It is not like you have told her. Calm down. Don't screw up. You can't lose her. You can figure this out.' Adrien kept saying in his mind. Hopefully, Alya would let it go with Marinette's answer. But of course, she wouldn't.
"I wasn't really speaking to you, girl. So, Adrien?" Marinette looked at Alya, confused. Then she looked towards Adrien, who was hiding his obviously red face. What was going on? What did she mean? 'Damn you, Alya!' Adrien thought. Desperate for a way out, Adrien looked towards Nino, who gave him an encouraging look. Then ignoring Marinette's stare, he looked towards Alya. There was something in Alya's eyes telling him to trust her and be honest.
Alya then gave him an encouraging wink. Suddenly, Adrien felt as if it was his time. Their friends had seen it. They were encouraging him to confess his love for her. He knew she had to find out eventually, but he was scared to lose her. No, he wouldn't lose her. She promised him that she would be there forever. It was his time, and he would fight for her. He was Adrien Agreste, the face of Gabriel, a straight-A student, and her best friend. It will be okay. Gathering all the courage in the world, he nodded towards Alya and took a deep breath.
Adrien then turned to look at a concerned bluenette. It was now or never. It was the moment that would either make or break them. He had been exposed, and he couldn't back out now. The way he saw it, this could go one of three ways.
1- she would end their friendship and say she loves Luka (Doubtful but could happen)
2- she would break up with Luka and be with him (Most likely won't happen, but he hoped it would with all his heart)
3- she would say she didn't feel the same way but still love him as a friend (most likely to happen. Not good or bad, but at least he won't lose her, and she will know the truth.)
Adrien played with his fingers. He wanted to back out, to run away, but he was an Agreste. He was no coward.
"Yeah, we are just friends," Adrien called out, afraid. Marinette smiled but for some reason, hearing him say the words stung. Even then, she hid her disappointment and turned to Alya. "See, I told-" "But" Adrien called out before Marinette finished. Marinette stopped and turned around, 'did he just say but?'
"But I- I wish" He hesitated nervously. He was really doing this. "I wish we could be more." He finished, making both Alya and Nino squeal, and Marinette's jaw opened in shock.
'Did Adrien just say he wished to be more than friends?' Marinette thought. 'No, I must have heard wrong. Why am I happy about this? Why do I wish that is what he said? No! Bad Marinette, you got Luka!' Marinette's internal battle got interrupted by Adrien's voice again. He needed to say this. He had to tell her the truth before it was too late.
"I am in love with you, Marinette. I have been for a long time now. I know that I am too late and that you are happy with Luka, but I needed you to know the truth. I am in love with you, Marinette Dupain Cheng, my princess, M'Lady, my best friend. I already know you don't feel the same. You don't have to reject me, but I am hoping that you will still be my best friend after this. I wish that you can look past this and not change things between us, but if you must then I will understand. I just can't hide it anymore. I can't keep loving you in silence, hurting when I see you with Luka. Wishing I could be the one to hold you and kiss you the way he does. I am in love with you, princess." Adrien had confessed. He finally confessed.
"Adrien I-"
