Per usual, Marc and Nathaniel were sitting in the park during nightfall to work on their newest comic book whilst gazing at the stars for inspiration. They sat in silence, both minds wondering to a world of their own.

Nathaniel has gotten distracted from drawing Ladybug, and had begun sketching Marinette in a dress that was as wonderful as the clear night sky above, exposing the stars.

Marc was writing a letter to a person special to him, occasionally glancing to his friend. Marc took note of the gentle breeze that exposed the enthused eyes of the boy beside him. When Nathaniel looked up from his notebook to stare at the stars, Marc quickly turned his glance back to his own parchment. It was moments like this he was relieved to have his black hair to shield the blush sweeping across his face from other’s eyes.

“It’s been awfully quiet, don’t you think?” Nathaniel began, still staring at the moonlight; their only light source. “No akumas, not even any sign of Ladybug and Chat Noir.”

“I-Isn’t that a good thing?” Nathaniel didn’t answer, he only continued his sketch.

“WAAAA!” A voice was heard behind them, followed by a splash. The two males stood abruptly, turning to face the female sitting in the fountain with her face an arguably darker shade of red than Nathaniel’s hair.

While the boys just stood in shock, the girl stood up, her clothing soaked. “I’m so sorry, I-”

Nathaniel saw the mask she wore, the situation instantly clicking in his mind. “You, you’re a Miraculous holder?” The young girl nodded with a chuckle.

“I suppose I am. Oh!” Her blue eyes widened, her body tightened. The abrupt change startled Marc and Nathaniel. She made her way out of the fountain and bowed. “Greetings, fellow Parisian citizens. I, am Delphine, at your service.” Her bright oceanic-blue locking with Nathaniel’s blue eyes.

Five Hours Earlier:

“Woah! If it isn’t the boyfriends!” Kim spoke with the smirk of a bully as he forced a pair to bump into him, causing all the drawings and sketches to fly in the air. Marc was on the ground, face warm, silently picking up his items as Nathaniel mumbled words that seemed to be targeted to Kim.

“We aren’t boyfriends, you idiot.” Kim lifted the boy with red hair up to his level by the back of his shirt collar.

Marc could only look at the scene from the ground with terror in his green eyes. The thing he worried about most was whether or not his friend was irritated enough to talk back to the bully.

“What did you call me, wimp?” His feet a few inches off the ground, Nathaniel’s anger was shielding him from thinking rationally.

“I called you an idiot, which is more flattering than you deserve,” he spit at the bully.

“Nath, c-calm d-down,” Marc stuttered quietly.

“Listen to your boyfriend, you-” Kim had his arm ready to sock the smaller kid in the stomach, and Nathaniel was ready to take it. After all, this had become routine. The only thing that saved the kid was the entrance of a girl whose beauty turned the heads of everyone.

The girl, of course, did not notice this. Nor did she believe this opinion many people shared. The only thing she saw in the mirror was that one pimple that rested near her hairline. She walked in a huff towards the action, her titanium blond hair bouncing as she took each step. In her blue eyes, there was a fire of anger and irritation that appeared about ready to burn the village down.

“Put the boy down.” Kim smirked, but let go of Nathaniel’s collar just high enough so the boy had to regain his footing.

“And who might you be?”

“Someone who isn’t interested in your so called ‘charm’.”She bent down and helped Marc pick up the papers from the ground, Nathaniel separating the drawings from the writings. The drawings were quickly hidden from view of the girl, Marc knowing his classmate wouldn’t want her to see it.

Kim grabbed the female’s elbow and pulled her to his face. “You’re a kind girl, you wanna-” She punched the boy in the gut with a smirk, then forced Marc and Nathaniel to walk to the library by holding their arms.

“Wha-”

“Shut up and keep quiet, tomato child.”

“Did you just call me-”

“Don’t ask me questions about the nonsense I speak.”

She finally let go of the boys’ arms when they reached a table, when she noticed the clock hanging on the wall nearby. “Oh, frickle-frackle!” Her eyes darted to the confused boys with a sympathetic glance. “I have to go. Bye!” She ran out the door, her hair flying in the wind.

“Who is that girl?” Marc just shrugged, then sat down in a chair near him in an awkward manner.

Five Hours Later…

“Not agaaaain!” Chat Noir landed on top of the blue and gray hero, ruining her bow to the boys. They exchanged a look, then looked back at the heroes.

Chat Noir nodded to Marc and Nathaniel, then extended his baton to connect himself to a rooftop. “C’mon, Delphine. Milady bugaboo needs our help.”

“Sorry, tomcat’s said I gotta go.” The female hero pointed a thumb towards the cat-inspired hero with a humourous frown. “Till next time, boys!” All three boys observed with deep interest as she pushed herself off the ground so she was floating-flying, to somewhere in the darkness.

Chat Noir turned to Marc and Nathaniel before taking his leave, commenting first, “You guys should get home. It’s, going to be getting a bit cold.” And with that, the two friends were left alone.

“She was-”

“Astonishing,” Nathaniel finished Marc’s sentence.

“I was going to say ‘new’, but-”

Nathaniel looked at his friend with a blush growing on his face and a sparkle in his teal eyes that made Marc want to smile. “No, I mean her costume was astonishing!” Nathaniel had felt as if he had been sitting beside a fire when she looked at him.

“But you don’t know her-,” Marc tried to say. Unfortunately, it was as if he hadn’t been heard.

“Did you see the way she looked at us? It was like she knew me!” Nathaniel sat on a bench nearby and opened his notebook and began sketching his heart away. “Her wonderful eyes, her costume,” Marc observed the quill in the artist’s hand illustrating the costume she wore. Her long, golden hair pulled in a blue ribbon. The blue mask that concealed her identity. Her gloves that each wore one simple strip of gold and one of white. Her dress, the skirt that formed into a dolphin-like shape. The dog tag that hung around her neck with the appearance of waves.

Author’s Note: Collette_Kurtzberg if there are any details I have missed, let me know in the comments! Extra Side Note: That felt like such a YouTuber thing to say. XD

The care that Nathaniel took in illustrating the hero was admirable, the moonlight illuminating his hair and the ink that stained the parchment.

After about five minutes had passed, a cold chill blew harsh. The ground turned cold, and the boys lifted their feet to the bench.

“What’s going on?” Nathaniel looked to Marc who simply shrugged as he hugged his knees.

“I don’t think this is what they meant when they told you to ‘be more chill’!” Chat Noir was thrown into the frozen tree above the bench.

From the sky, a teenage boy flew with a blue cloak in the air. “Shut up, you idiotic cat! Give me the jewels!” Chat Noir hopped from the tree, landing in front of the boys.

“Go! Get out of here!” The hero shouted at them, then launched himself at the victim. He was stopped by a pile of snow dropping from overhead. “Uh, bugaboo!” He shouted, squirming under the snow. “A bit of luck might be good right about now!”

The insect-inspired hero swung to the scene, crawling into the snow to pull her partner out. “No more ‘Bugaboo’ calling, Chat!” Once he was good, Ladybug launched her yoyo into the air. “Lucky Charm!” A deep freezer dropped into her arms, and there were confused expressions all around.

“Ha! Just try and stop me with that, little lady! If anything, you’ll just help me out more!” The villain stepped on the ground, a sheet of thick ice spreading around the park.

“What’s your plan, Mi’lady?” Chat Noir grabbed his partner by her waist and brought them to the top of the nearest tree.

“We should-” Marc got cut off by the voice of an angry voice.

“I didn’t say I was done with you, ice-brain!” Delphine came back into view whilst riding a board of sorts, her hands equipped with a steel bar. She wacked the akumatized victim over the head with said bar. The boy fell, an icicle flying from nowhere took Delphine down to the ground with a grunt.

The two boys just watched in shock as the heroes were struggling. Chat used Cataclysm on the icicle, and used his baton to knock the villain into a tree.

“I got it! Retreat!” Ladybug was shouting her commands, and they all travelled to the rooftop near by.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel was grabbing Marc by the wrist before the villain noticed their presence.

“You did great, Collette!” Waiime was a kwami, the dolphin one to be precise.

“I almost endangered those two boys!” She was curled in a ball on her bed whilst holding a book from the HOO series.

“But you didn’t. Besides, it was your first time! It’ll get easier.”

Collette sat up with determination set in her blue eyes. “I’m going to check up on them.”

“How do you know where they live?” Collette avoided the question by blushing as she transformed.

“Waiime, Tide’s In!”

The heroine landed in Nathaniel’s bedroom, gracefully tripping over a chair.

The light turned on, and there was the boy with red hair; staring at the girl with her legs in the air.

She awkwardly waved, and Nathaniel tried not to blush. The thing he noticed the most were her ocean eyes that were intense and calm. His own teal eyes couldn’t help but get lost in the fondness that settled in her presence and her stare.

“Hey,” Delphine stood up and ignored the stabbing pain in her leg. “I just wanted to check up on you,” she paused to tell him to give her his name.

“N-Nathaniel.” Delphine smiled at the sound, for she had always admired the name.

“Well, I am glad to see you made it back unharmed. I’ll see you later, alright?” She gave him a kiss on the cheek as a sign of friendship.

“Yeah,” the teenager watched the Miraculous holder jump out his window. “I, I’ll see you later.”

Marc walked into Nath’s room, holding a bucket of popcorn. “What happened? You’re blushing.”

“Nothing, let’s get back to brainstorming.”

________

Sorry it took so long for this to come out, but I’m dealing with my share of issues behind this keyboard.

I have a song suggestion for those who care more about the message of a song than the tune and the melody of the music itself: Baby Don’t Cut.

It keeps playing on my playlist, and it really goes close to the heart.
