Part 55: Trouble?

Michael's point of view

I woke up at the sound of my phone ringing. When I looked at the screen, I noticed it was a text from Pit which said: "Hey Michael. I'm outside June's apartment with your stuff, boss. Do you want me 2 bring it 2 you?" I didn't reply and got myself out of bed, and headed to the front door. When I opened it, Pit was waiting in front of it.

"Hey Pit, thanks for being here." I said, giving him a friendly hug.

"No problem, boss. Here, I picked some clothes of yours, and your hygienic stuff." He declared, handing me my the suitcase.

"Great. Do you want to come in? Maybe you'd like some coffee?" I gently asked.

"Yeah, sure." He answered, smiling.

I took a step aside and let him in. I closed the door behind us, and put my suitcase on the floor. I motionned Pit to follow me in the kitchen. When we got there, I made Pit some coffee and opened the fridge to look for some orange juice. Of course, the fridge was empty, we had to order pizza for dinner yesterday, so I decided to make myself some tea instead.

"So, what's up?" Pit asked, his cup of coffee in front of him.

"Well, it's good to be in New York. I love this city." I said with a smile.

"Is June ok?" He asked with concern in his voice.

"She's feeling a little bit better, yeah." I declared, smiling.

"She's been through a lot. I don't know how she does to handle it. She's such a strong person." He said, before taking a sip of his coffee.

"Yeah, she's a fighter." I smiled. "What about you? How old is your little girl know? It been a while I didn't see her!"

"She's sixteen months old now. She's growing up so fast!" He said, titling his head a little. "How long are you staying here, by the way?"

"I don't know yet. It depends on June, when she feels ready to come back with me at Neverland." I said, and took a sip of my warm tea. That's when I saw June, walking towards the kitchen, while rubbing her eyes, her -sexy- nightdress on. I almost choked on my tea.

"What's going on, Michael?" Pit asked, as I was coughing. June stopped rubbing her eyes as she heard another voice coming from the kitchen, and immediately she hid herself behind a wall.

"It's... Ok." I said, as I stopped coughing. "Would you excuse me for a minute?" I gently asked.

"Yeah sure!"

I smiled at him, and walked towards June. She looked at me, trying to hold her laughter. As I led her in her room, she let it out and laughed out loud.

"You should have seen your face, it was hilarious!" She laughed at me.

"It's not funny! Pit could have seen you dressed up like this!" I hissed, smiling. I couldn't help but smile even if I didn't want to. Hearing her laugh is the best melody to me ears.

"Oh, relax Mikey. He didn't see anything, and I didn't know he was here. This was supposed to be just you and me..." She pouted.

"I know, baby girl, but Pit came to bring me my stuff." I said, caressing her long blond hair. "Do you want me to make him leave?"

"No, of course not. I'll meet you in the kitchen in a few, I need to put some pants on."

"You sure need to, indeed" I laughed, and pecked her lips before heading for the kitchen. "Sorry" I excused myself to Pit as I was walking in the kitchen. "Enjoying your coffee?" I randomly asked, taking my sit back across from him.

"Yeah, thanks." He smiled. "So, when are you meeting Quincy?"

"This afternoon. We have a studio session planned."

"Do you know what kind of songs you want in your new album yet?"

"I have my idea about this, yeah." I smiled, then took a sip of my tea. That's when June arrived, dressed up with dark blue skinny jeans, and some sweater. She had her hair in a high ponytail, and she didn't bother to put make up on. She looked naturally stunning. What a lucky man I am.

"Hey Pit!" She greeted him, giving him a friendly hug. "How are you doing?" She asked, breaking the hug.

"I'm feeling great, thank you. How are you doing?" He asked with a sympathic smile.

"Better." She said, slightly smiling.

"That's good." He said, grinning. "I'm sorry, but I probably get going. I need to settle at the hotel before working." Pit declared, standing up from his stool. "Thanks for the coffee, Michael." He said, smiling at me, and I nodded. "And it was a pleasure to see you again, Miss June."

"Same here. See you around!" She told him, leading him to the front door. She waved, and closed the door behind him. She turned around to face me, and gave me a little smile. "Well, that was fast" she slightly chuckled.

June's point of view

"Michael!" I laughed as he was tickling my ribs on the bed. "Stop it, I'm gonna be late!"

"I don't care, he'll have to wait" Michael whispered on my neck as he was kissing it.

Yeah, I'm having this drink with Matt this afternoon. Michael finally agreed on it, after another argument about this whole thing. I told him it was friendly, that he shouldn't be worried about it. I trust Matt, I know he won't try anything stupid.

Michael finally stopped tickling me, and concentrate himself on kissing my neck and jaw.

"Oh, Michael" I moaned, slightly laughing. "I really have to go..."

"I don't want you to go" he said, looking up at me. "I wanted you to come with me at the studio" he whined.

"I'll join you as soon as I'm done with Matt." I said, rubbing his cheek.

"You promise?"

"I promise." I smiled, and kissed him softly.

"Go, then. Before I change my mind and keep you here with me" Michael told me, before getting off of me. I got out of bed, and headed to the front door, followed by Michael. I took my leather jacket, and Michael came to help me put it on. I smiled at him, and put my Converse® on. As I was about to go out, Michael grabbed my hand, and pull me closer to him.

"Don't forget these" he said, handing me his aviators.

"I have mine, you know"

"I know, but I want you to take mine, so you can think about me even if you're with that guy" he shyly said, looking at the floor.

"I don't need some sunglasses to think about you, baby" I said, smiling.

"Please take it, ok?" He said, now looking at me.

"As you wish. Thank you", I smiled. I gave him one last kiss and left the appartement.

I felt a little bit heartbroken to leave Michael here on his own, but I reassured myself by saying that he had to leave in a few hours to meet Quincy in this studio in Manhattan.

I hopped on my car, and closed the doors. We're never careful enough Ity those crazy paparazzis around...

A few minutes later, I was in front of the café Matt and I agreed to meet. I Michael's sunglasses and headed inside. I scanned the place, and noticed Matt sitting next to the window, waving at me. I made my way to him, slightly smiling, and gave him a little smile. He pulled me in a tight hug, and I felt his strong hands on my lower back, which made me gasp by surprise.

"Um, ok. Yeah, it's good to see you too", I nervously said, giving him a gentle tap on the shoulder. I pulled back, and gave him a 'What was that for?' look.

"Sorry. I just wanted to do that..." He said as an excuse. He sat back down, and I sat across from him. "I truly missed you, June."

"I missed you too. I missed how we used to talk", I honestly said. It's true, we used to talk a lot back when I was still single. We confessed everything to each other, just like I used to be with Anna.

"Yeah, our talk..." He said, visibly sad.

"What is it?" I asked, concerned.

"Nothing. It's just that I--" Matt and I looked up as the waitress came to take our order.

"Sorry to interrupt--" she trailed off, and looked down at me, wide eyed. "Are you June, Michael Jackson's girlfriend?" She asked me, shocked.

"Um, yes. I am." I said, giving her a smile.

"Wow, um... Can you sign this for me? And can I take a pic with you?" She excitedly asked. I looked at her in shock, this is the first time this happened. I mean, I'm no celebrity, Michael is. I took a quick glance toward Matt and he shrugged his shoulders at me like he wanted to tell me "This is what you get for being with Michael Jackson".

"Um, yeah sure!" I said, taking the notepad and the pen from her hands, and gave her an autograph. Then, she gave her phone to Matt and asked him to take a pic of the both of us. she sat next to me, and I made a smile for the photo. She thanked Matt and I, and took our orders. I asked for a latte and Matt asked for a simple coffee.

"Sorry about that", I said with a little smile. "What were you saying?"

"Nothing, just that I missed you like crazy. I mean, everything about you." He said, not making eye contact with me.

"You're sweet", I said, smiling.

"Yeah, but not enough..." He mumbled.

"What did you say?"

"Yeah, but not enough", he said, a little bit louder.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

He sighed, and intertwined his fingers with mine on the table, "I'm in love with you, June. Since the beginning." He whispered. I was lost, I looked at him blankly, I couldn't make a move, I was shocked. That's when a flash snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked towards the window, and saw the paparazzi that just took a picture of me and Matt. I removed my hand quickly, and looked at Matt again, who was smirking. When he made eye contact with me, his smile faded fastly, and his face turned into a shocked one. What the hell?

Michael's point of view

Barely three minutes after June left the appartement, there was a knock at the door.

Guessing it was June was was coming back, I opened the door, and seductively said, "I knew you couldn't leave m--" but I stopped my sentence when I noticed it was Anna. "Oh um. Hi Anna, sorry, I thought it was June, she just left..."

"Oh, where did she go?" She asked me, smiling.

"She's out with Matt. They're having a drink", I declared, trying to take a neutral tone. "So, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see you actually." She sighed. "I'm sorry about yesterday, the way I acted toward you. I'm not a crazy fan, it's just that it's weird to talk to you" she chuckled nervously.

"It's ok, Anna." I said, giving her a gentle tap on the shoulder.

"I just, I--" she stopped in the middle of her sentence and jumped on my arms. She gave me a tight hug, we surpsied me first, but I gently hug her back. She dragged me outside the appartement. I felt her hands lowering in my back, and then she squeezed my butt, and laid a kiss on my neck. I harshly pushed her back, and looked at her in disbelief.

"What the hell, Anna?" I hissed.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do this, I--"

"I think you need to leave" I sternly said, cutting her off.

"I'm sorry, I--" she tried to say.

"Now", I said through clenched teeths.

She took a last look at me, and left without saying anything else. As I looked in the distance, I saw one paparazzi running to his car, his camera in his hands. Oh no...

I slammed the door shut and tried to reach June on her cellphone but she didn't answer. She must be occupied 'catching up' with Matt...

She was right. There's something weird about Anna. Definitely.
