XXVII. It's Not A Date, It's Called "Hanging Out"
"Jihyun hurry uppppp we're gonna be late." Jinyoung said through the phone.
"I need to finish putting on my makeupppp!" I said.
"You don't need makeup!"
"Shut up, you don't know the struggles of being a girl."
"You still look pretty without makeup!"
"Liar."
Jinyoung sighed. "Hurrrrryyyy."
"Okay okay, one second--"
"One--"
"Comingggg!" I hung up the phone and ran out the door. I spotted Jinyoung's car parked inside, him sitting in the drivers seat. I got in the shotgun seat and let out a breath.
"Took you long enough!" He said.
"You can't say anything because you've never been a girl." I said. "You don't know how hard it is."
"Why? You on your period or something?"
My jaw dropped and I hit the back of his head. "I am not."
"Ow!" He stuck out his bottom lip. "If I run into a tree it'll be your fault."
I crossed my arms. "Fine." I side-eyed him. "Where are we going anyways?"
Jinyoung grinned. "It's a surprise!"
"But I want to knowwww! Are you trying to kidnap me?"
"Yes, I am trying to kidnap you." He snickered.
"Uh huh, then you won't live to see another day."
"Yes I will, you're small."
"You're small too."
"You're smaller."
"Whatever, I have good self-defense skills--wait a second is that LOTTE WORLD?!"
Jinyoung laughed.
"Are we going there?"
"No, we're going to go pick apples in the woods next to it." He said, serious or not.
"That's fine too." I said.
"As long as you're with me?"
"As long as I'm with yo--" I stopped eruptly, looking at Jinyoung's haughty face. "Just drive into the tree now please."
"You're so cuuutteeeee~" He cooed. "It's okay, as long as I'm with you I can live in the middle of nowhere with no food at all."
"Me too, because I'd eat you first the moment I get hungry." I said.
"You wouldn't!"
"You want me to prove it?"
"No don't eat me!!"
I laughed. "Wait, are we really going to Lotte World??"
He nodded.
"You paid for the tickets too?!"
"No, didn't I tell you to bring an extra 200 dollars?" He asked.
"Do you really think I have 200 dollars laying around my room?"
"Haha--" Jinyoung held up two tickets.
"WOOHOOOO!!" I cheered.
"My grandma's friend is one of the owners of the park and she gave me four free tickets because she was my fan~~" He bragged.
"Four?! And you only came with me?"
Jinyoung nodded. "Who else would I go with?"
I smiled at him and gave a thumbs up.
Jinyoung pressed my cheeks together. "You're so cute."
I gave him a deadpanned expression.
We hopped out of the car and headed inside the theme park.
"I've never been here before." I said. "It's so cuteeee!" I pointed at the person in the bear costume.
Jinyoung and I bought matching bear ears and wore them, taking pictures.
"What ride should we go on first?" Jinyoung asked.
"Oh--lets go on that one!" I pointed to one of the roller coaster rides.
"But that looks scary!" Jinyoung whined.
I dragged him to the ride and we entered, regardless of Jinyoung's refusal.
As soon as the ride started up and our cart moved, I regretted it. It went up and around to the side and back. I felt like my insides were being mixed into scrambled eggs. (Description of how I become when Jinyoung does his little tricks)
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed when it dipped down and clung onto Jinyoung's arm. He was laughing the entire time, and didn't even seem to be as scared as I thought he would be. I was more scared than what I thought I would be.
"IF I DIE TODAY IT'LL BE YOUR FAULT!" I yelled.
"AHAHAHAHA AHHHHHH!! HAHAHAHHA--" Jinyoung was screaming and laughing at the same time.
The way I was latching onto his arm slowly turned into a chokehold on his neck.
"JIHYUNN--CAN'T BREATHE--"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
"I CAN'T BREATHE!"
"YOU CAN'T READ?! READ WHAT?!!!"
"BREATHEEE!!!!!!" Jinyoung yelled in my ear.
"OH!" I unlatched my arm. "SORRY!"
The 2 minute roller coaster (that felt like a whole hour) finally ended and when it stopped it was like I left my soul on the top of the drop.
"Aigoo..." I wiped my sweat.
Jinyoung slapped his cheeks and helped me out of the cart, and my legs immediately gave out. I would've hit the ground if Jinyoung didn't put an arm around my waist.
"Is this a ground in standing on....?" I asked in a daze.
Jinyoung grabbed my chin. "Look at my finger." He put it between my eyes.
"I can't cross my eyes!"
"You can't? Who can't cross their eyes??"
"Me!" I hit his forehead. "I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine."
Jinyoung squatted down. "I'll carry you on my back."
I squinted at him and let out a breath, getting on. "I could sleep like this."
"We're only on the first ride!" Jinyoung said.
"Lets go on a less intense one pleeaase." I said.
"You're the one who wanted to do it in the first place!"
"I don't need your smart mouth, Woo Jinyoung." I hmphed.
"You're heavy."
I yanked on his hair.
"That totally didn't hurt." He said. "I'm joking, how would even someone as small as you be heavy? You're lighter than my baby cousin."
"Thats what I like to hear." I said.
_
"Man, I'm so tired." I parked my butt on a bench and slumped down.
Less intense rides my ass. We went on loopy doopy roller coasters the whole time and one dizzy teacup ride.
"That was fun!" Jinyoung said. "Let's stay for the light show and fireworks, then we can go home."
"I think I screamed out 50 years worth of my voice, if that's even possible." I croaked.
Jinyoung ignored my whining and showed me pictures from the day. "Look how cute we are!"
"Haha."
"We look like a couple."
"No we don't."
"Yes we do. And this is a date." He leaned in front of me to see my baffled face.
My cheeks heated up. "I was informed by you that we were only 'hanging out'."
"I tricked you." He snickered and poked my cheek.
"I hate you."
"Stop playing hard to gettttt!" He whined and hugged my head to his chest, ruffling my hair and messing it up.
"I'm not, it's my true nature to be mean to people." I said.
"I won't talk to you until you show a form of affection for me." Jinyoung said stubbornly, turning away from me.
I pinched his arm, earning a 'youch!' from him. "There. That's my form of affection."
"Bullying isn't affection~"
I groaned and crossed my arms, staring at him who was completely ignoring me. To be frank, I didn't like being ignored, especially by Jinyoung. I scooted closer to him. "Jinyounggggg."
No answer.
"Jinyoungie?"
Silence.
"Jinnie bear?"
His mouth twitched but I was left ignored.
I groaned and frowned. Only this one time.
I lifted my head and put my lips on Jinyoung's cheek, retreating as fast as I did the action.
