Mystery at the Museum! The Rise of the Burning Golem, Infernites Max!
(A/N- At last, we have an opening now, in the form of Digimon ghost game's opening theme, 'Faction'! Now, before I carry onwards again, I want to clear up something that I neglected to cover back in the first chapter. I do not own Digimon, the ghost game anime, or the mixels franchise. They all belong to their original owners. the only things I own are a majority of the characters... Save for Kiyoshiro Shima, Carlos Almenera, and Henry Almenera, as they are based on Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai, and Hokuto and Hiro Amanokawa appearance-wise, who are characters from Digimon ghost game, and all the mixels in the story. With that being said, enjoy the second chapter!)
'Holograms, a famous form of technology that is widely renowned far and wide in the city of Santa Monica. In the year 2024, all kinds of paranormal phenomenon occur all over the city. The humans who live in this city refer to them as... Hologram Ghosts.'

After last night's encounter with the Nixels, Gammamon's unexpected evolution, and the infernites and the dinosaur following her home, Casey figured that she could sleep in later than yesterday, since she had to wake up early for school, and, well, Last night's events did happen last night. Deep down, she wanted to believe that her being chased by the Nixels, and her meeting the Infernites and Gammamon was a dream. Try as she may, day after day, nothing could convince her that it was a dream, because the proof of it all being real was in front of her. Of course, things changed again three days later...

"Nom!" Gammamon squeaked, as he gently bit on Casey's left hand, which was dangling off of the side of her bed as she was sleeping, and despite how gentle Gammamon was, it still hurt her, and made her jolt wide awake. "AAAAH!" She screamed, as she rolled off her bed, and held her hand in pain. "Ow, ow, ow..." "Ohh~, Casey! Sorry for biting you, by the way..." Gammamon apologized nervously. "I had to wake you up somehow...!" Gammamon said, as Casey nodded in understanding, as she then saw Flain, Vulk, and Zorch waking up. "Mornin', Casey." Flain greeted her with a small yawn. Casey smiled, as she got up on her feet, as she heard the sound of a stomach growling- hers. "Look, I'm going to head downstairs and get some breakfast. I'll be right back. Don't leave my room, and if Henry or my mom walk into my room, just act like a couple of life-size Plushes. And in your case, Gammamon, just hide in my closet. Ok?" Casey asked them, as the Infernites nodded, as did Gammamon. "Alright, good." She smiled, until she was only a few feet away from her bedroom door before Henry opened it to check on his younger sister.
"You ok, Hermana? I heard you screaming, so I got worried and-" Henry said, as he saw the three red Mixels and the triceratops creature that was Gammamon, and began to panic. "Casey, ¿Qué demonios es todo esto? Are those the infernites?! Like, the REAL Infernites?! And... Why the heck do they have a baby Mixeloptor with them?" Casey then sighed. She knew very well from Henry's reaction to the infernites and Gammamon to know that he was smart enough to not fall for the red mixels' ploy to act like Plushes, nor Gammamon hiding in the closet. Casey knew very well that, like it or not she now had a lot of explaining to do. "Okay, Hen, I'm going to explain everything that happened last night. But listen, I need you to promise me that you won't tell mom about Flain, Vulk, Zorch, and Gammamon, alright? Besides, I don't know how Mom would even react if she found out I was hiding a real tribe of mixels and a little dinosaur!" She said, sounding worried. Henry then took a deep breath, and then calmed down. "Alright, take it easy. I promise you, Hermana, I won't tell Mami. Go ahead, explain away." Henry then nodded, as he sat down on her bed, as Gammamon sat down on Henry's lap.
One long explanation later...

"So, after Gammamon 'digivolved' into Betel Gammamon, and once the 5 of you worked together to save your new friend from school and defeated the Nixels that were attacking her, the Infernites and Gammamon just followed you back to the house?" Henry asked, as Casey then nodded. "And I couldn't just let them go anywhere else. When I found them, they were behind a dumpster, Hen- A dumpster!" Suddenly, Gammamon's stomach growled. "Casey? Henry?" The two siblings looked over at the little dinosaur creature, curious. "I'm feelin' hungry..." Gammamon said, gently resting his claws on his stomach. Henry smiled a bit. "Alright. Then I guess Casey and I are headed to Publix to buy you and the Infernites some food." Casey then snapped her fingers, getting an idea. "Maybe we could bring the infernites and Gammamon with us?" Henry looked at his sister, confused. "Don't get me wrong- It's a bit risky leaving them here while we're out, but how could they, uh... Not attract too much attention to themselves?"
It was then, that Flain got a bit of an idea. "Hey, Casey, what if Vulk, Zorch, Gammamon and I pretended to be AI holograms? Besides, Santa Monica is the Hologram Capital of your world!" Henry then tilted his head. "Well, that is true, considering that I've seen hologram signs and such during the times I've spent Walking you to the bus stop and back to the house. So, for what it's worth, Flain, your idea could potentially work." Flain smiled upon hearing this from Henry, as Casey got up on her feet. "Then let's get going! No time to waste!" Casey cheered excitedly, as she put her hair up in a Ponytail, and then ran out of the bedroom door, carrying Gammamon in her arms as if he were a stuffed animal. Zorch looked at Henry as Flain and Vulk followed the duo of human and triceratopsian creature. "Not to make it sound like I'm complaining on purpose, but is your sister always this eager?" Henry laughed a bit. "When it comes down to helping people? Without a shadow of a doubt. But it doesn't exactly happen without her getting a tiny bit distracted by the things that happen around her sometimes." Henry said, as he and Zorch set off and followed the others.
_________________________________________________________________
Once they arrived, Casey got a basket to carry some of the things she'd buy, while Gammamon clung onto her left shoulder, and Flain on her right shoulder, who was being careful not to burn her with the flame on his head, and Vulk walking right next to her. During their time in the produce aisle gathering some food, Casey saw Amber and someone a bit shorter than her, wearing a faded yellow dress with grey leggings, and some white hi-tops with her over by the seafood section. "Amber!" Casey called to her, as she ran over to her, a smile on her face. Amber noticed her friend from school headed her way with the two Infernites and Gammamon close to her. "Hey, Case! What are you doing here with Gammamon and the Infernites?" She asked them, curious. Gammamon smiled widely, feeling beyond excited. "Casey and Henry are buying us food!" He happily squeaked, as he then looked behind him, seeing a red fish layed out with all the available food in the seafood section, which freaked him out. "C-Casey! What's that thing?! It's staring at us!" The little dinosaur squeaked, scared. The girl who was with Amber patted Gammamon's head. "Don't worry, little guy! It's just a red snapper. It won't bite you, or anyone else, I promise!" She reassured him, as Gammamon rubbed his head against the girl's hand. Casey looked over at the girl, confused, before looking over to Amber. "Hey, Ambs? Who's she?" Amber then laughed a small bit. "Oh, that's my little sister, Alya! She really loves animals, and is really good at playing the piano. I promised her that I'd take her to get some cookies as a treat if she did well at her piano recital yesterday." Amber smiled. Flain found this information rather intriguing. "Amber, why didn't you tell us that you had a sister?" He asked. "To be fair, after you and the others saved me the night before last, the 5 of you left for Casey's house. Plus, let's be real here- None of you ever asked." Amber spoke up. Flain did a small face-palm upon realizing that she was right. "Fair enough." The literal hot-headed Infernite nodded, as he got down from Casey's shoulder. "By the way, where's Zorch?" Amber asked him. "He's with Casey's brother, Henry. My guess is that he snuck away from Henry to try to find some coconapples..." Casey then looked over at Flain. "We don't exactly have Coconapples in this world, Flain.." She told him, before getting an answer in the form of a sigh.

"I know, mi amiga, it's just... I miss Mixopolis... And more importantly, I miss my Cragster compadres, Seismo and Krader... Shnix, I miss all the other Mixels..." He looked down at the ground, a few tears filling his eyes. Casey couldn't help but feel bad for the leader of the Infernites tribe. She crouched down to meet Flain's height, as she then placed her hand on his shoulder. "Flain, I promise, Henry and I will do everything we can to help you to find the other Mixels." She smiled happily, trying to reassure him. Flain looked at her, a small smile on his face, before immediately embracing Casey in a hug. "Muchas Gracias, Casey...!" He smiled, drying his tears. Amber and Alya looked at each other, and nodded, before looking down at Flain. "If there's anything me and Alya can do to help, you can count on us." Amber told him, as Alya nodded.
"Wait, that reminds me of something!" She quickly said, as the little girl pulled out a small purple magazine that read on the front, 'Ghost Weekly: The mystery of the wandering Mummy' from her bag. Vulk looked at the Magazine, curious. "Ghost Weekly?" He asked Alya, curious about the magazine. Amber nodded upon hearing Vulk. "Yeah. Alya here's a fan of these magazines because they talk about sightings of Hologram Ghosts and the paranormal. But, as much as I want to be a good big sister and support her interests, I just don't know what I'd do with myself if she fell victim to any of the many Hologram Ghosts..." She spoke up. "But, knowing how I mistook you and the other Infernites for being Hologram Ghosts when the rumors about the Will-o-wisps first started going around Santa Monica, there's slight chance that the mummy is actually an Mixel!" Casey smiled. Flain lit up upon hearing this from Amber. "Ambs, you're the best! You too, Alya!" His mood was greatly brightened thanks to their assistance, as well as Casey for cheering him up a bit earlier. Knowing that the denizens of Santa Monica once mistook him and his tribemates for Hologram Ghosts could mean that the other Mixel Tribes could be somewhere in the city, going through the same circumstances! "Alya, can I borrow that magazine for a bit, Por favor?" The leader of the Infernites then asked her, as she handed Flain the Ghost Weekly magazine without a second thought.

Soon after their run-in with Amber and Alya, Casey, Flain, Gammamon, and Vulk met up with Henry and Zorch in the backyard of the sibling's house, since Casey and Henry's mother, Camilla, was called into work early, and wouldn't be home until the following night. Casey placed down a small white and red checkered blanket on the ground. "There we go. Now we got ourselves a real picnic!" She smiled, as she sat down on the blanket, and pulled out a small bit of cooked tuna from a small silver case. "Here, try some of this, Flain." She smiled, as the leader of the infernites grabbed a small plastic fork, scooped up the small bit of tuna with the fork, and took a bite of it. A smile spread across his face, as he chewed the piece of the fish, and then swallowed. "Woah, this stuff's really good!" He smiled, as Gammamon then nodded, and then put his arms in the air. "Shiny!" He then cheered. Henry then looked at Gammamon, curious.
"Shiny? Do you mean the salmon skin, Gammamon?" Henry asked him, as he fed the white triceratops a small spoonful of salmon skin. The little white triceratops' eyes glimmered. "This sal-monn skin tastes great! I want to try some more stuff, guys!" He smiled, as Zorch got a small, mischievous smirk on his face, almost as if he had gotten an idea for a new prank. "No worries, Gamms! Your pal Zorch gots your needs, man!" He said, as he got some raw tuna from another case. "TA-DAAH!" Gammamon smiled, as he took a small bite of the raw tuna, chewing it for a few seconds, before the dinosaur started wailing and screaming, flailing around a small bit. "AAAAAAH~! UUWAAH~! Scary!" Zorch laughed at Gammamon's reaction, before Flain angrily slapped the crimson Infernite upside the back of his head. He knew Zorch had a pranking streak a mile wide, but... Something about Gammamon being pranked just didn't feel right somehow...
"Scary?" Casey asked, as she ran inside, and came back with a glass of milk. "Here, drink up." Casey asked, as she helped Gammamon drink all the milk by holding the glass for him while he sipped the milk. Soon, he had drank the whole glass. "Oh, my, Gammamon, are you okay? Judging by your reaction, that must've been really spicy...!" Vulk asked him, concerned. Gammamon then nodded slowly. "Yeah, Vulk! It was like Kaboom!" The white triceratops told the cat-eared infernite. "Alright, then. Well, we now know that 'scary' means 'spicy' in Gamma-ish." Casey smiled as she wrote it down in her phone's memo app, while the infernites and Henry confusedly stared at her.
"Gamma-ish?" Her brother asked, as she nodded. "Yeah. Gammamon seems to be neither Mixel nor Nixel, and he's clearly not a human, plus, he's got a unique way of speaking that he uses in tandem with our language. And I'm calling his way of speaking Gamma-ish!" Casey explained. She wanted to understand Gammamon, and everything about him, from his digivolutions, to the way that he spoke. If she could understand those things, she could help Gammamon figure out who or what he really was! "Casey, I still want to try more stuff!" The little dinosaur smiled. Henry then lightly smiled upon seeing Gammamon's eagerness. "You sure got quite the appetite, Gammamon! Plus, I can tell you really like to challenge your limits, too. Then, how about we try something that's the opposite of spicy; Something sweet?" Henry then looked over at Casey, who nodded, and ran inside. "Henry, where's Casey going, dude?" Flain asked, as Henry slightly laughed. "She's going into the kitchen to get some chocolate bars. Aside from Mom and Dad's homemade leche merengadas, Chocolate's her favorite dessert." He smiled, as Casey came back out with four chocolate bars (with the wrappers removed), one for each of the three Infernites, and one for Gammamon. One by one, the otherworldly quartet took a bite out of their chocolate bars. They each enjoyed it, but none of them enjoyed the chocolate as much as Gammamon did.
"Oooh~! Uuuoaah~! OHHH~!" Gammamon happily screamed, as he ran around the Almenera siblings and the Infernites, before stopping right in front of Casey, his eyes twinkling like little yellow and black stars. "I want more, Casey!" Henry laughed happily, seeing Gammamon's reaction. "Looks like you're not the only chocoholic in the family anymore, Case." Casey lightly punched Henry on the shoulder, laughing a bit.

Later that night, as the sun slowly began to set in the sky, Casey was with Flain in her room, Gammamon resting on her bed, as she and Flain were reading the Ghost Weekly magazine that Alya lent to the leader of the Infernites tribe so the two of them could find some potential hints as to where the other 78 Mixels could be within the city of Santa Monica. "'A mummy that walks around at night'..." Casey began, reading the headline of the magazine, as Flain then followed up after her, reading the rest. "Earlier last week at the Santa Monica Museum of National History, the ancient Egyptian mummies have been set on special display. However, there is a rumor that people go missing around the area. They say that a strange creature fully covered in bandages was witnessed kidnapping people. This may be another Hologram Ghost, similar to the Sewn-lip man and the trio of will-o-wisps.'" The duo of human girl and Infernite mixel then looked at each other. "Even if this mummy isn't actually a Mixel, we can probably use this as a way to help Gammamon figure out who or what he is...!" Casey lightly smiled, as Flain nodded in response. Suddenly, Gammamon sat up, and started shouting.
"S-STRONG! TOO STRONG! THIS IS THE MAX POWER OF CHAMPIONS!" He then made a soft squeak noise as he rubbed his closed eyes, and layed back down. Casey initially freaked out a tiny bit upon hearing Gammamon shout in his sleep. "Oh, you're just sleeping, lil' buddy..." Casey soon calmed down, as she pulled out her phone, and looked at her notes on Gamma-ish on her Phone's memo app for a bit of a reminder. "Alright, so 'Champions' means 'Chocolate'. Noted." She told herself, as Flain looked at the pages of the magazine, mumbling some things to himself.
"Mummy... Late at night, huh?" He then thought to himself, the flames on his head growing more intense, as he stopped thinking it all over for a moment, causing the intensity of the fire on his head to die down a small bit, as the leader of the red-hot Infernites then looked over to face Casey, a smile of pride forming on his beak. "If this mummy really is a Mixel, though, I can get information as to where all the others are!" Casey then nodded in agreement. "Then tomorrow night, we're staying at the museum past closing time, and getting to the bottom of this puzzle! 'Sides, I haven't had a challenge like this for a very long time!" Casey smiled. "But if anything, I should look into buying you and Vulk some fireproof beds. The pallets I made for you both have started to get scorch marks all over them." She then laughed a bit.
___________________________________________________________________
The following day, Casey took the Infernites, Gammamon (who was hitching a ride in Casey's backpack), and a reluctant Henry with her to the Museum. They had a few hours before they executed their plan of finding the mummy, so they decided to explore the Museum, starting with the dinosaur exhibit. Vulk took notice of a hologram of a Tyrannosaurus, staring at it with curiosity in his singular eye. "Um, Casey?" Vulk called her over, as he pointed over at the dinosaur. "What kind of Mixeloptor is that?" Casey laughed a small bit, as she shook her head. "Eso es un tiranosaurio, Vulk- That's a Tyrannosaurus." She told him, as Flain looked at the holographic dinosaur longingly. "Kinda reminds me of Meltus..." The leader of the Infernites said sadly, as Henry walked into the Ancient Egypt exhibit with Zorch, only to find it was crowded with a bunch of other humans. "Look, Zorch, I don't want you to tell Casey a single word about this since I don't know how she'd react, but if something happens to me, I want you, Vulk, Flain, and Gammamon to protect her for me..." He told him, as the crimson infernite nodded in understanding. But deep down, he knew very well that Casey would feel differently about her brother doing something like this.
________________________________________________________________
Several hours later, the Museum had closed, a message playing through the building. "Thank you very much for visiting today." The voice began. "We will be closing soon." Casey, her brother, Gammamon, and the infernites were hidden in the bathroom, as it was the only place in the whole building without security cameras. "Ohh~! Casey!" Gammamon called to her, as she was sitting up against the wall, skimming through her phone. "Yeah, Gammamon?" She asked him, as she looked up, seeing that he was wrapped up in paper towels, making him look like a little mummy. "This is pretty fun!" Casey giggled a bit, as she took the paper towels off of Gammamon's body. "As much as it is nice to have a good laugh now and then, let's not forget why we're here, Gammamon." Gammamon then nodded. "Yeah- To either figure out who and what I really am, and to hopefully find some of the other Mixels!" Casey then heard a notification sound from her phone, and she then looked to see a post from Angelwood Middle's blog, The Phantom's den, about there being nothing of the writer's interest at the museum.
Flain stood over Casey's shoulder and read the article to himself. 'Who cares if the Phantom's Den didn't find anything?' The leader of the Infernites thought to himself. 'I have come all this way to find the others, and I am not giving up until I find them!' Casey soon heard the hologram displays from the other exhibits turning off for the night, as she got up from the ground, and opened the door to get to the mummy exhibit. But there was one small problem. "Maldito, a digital lock. If only we knew the code, or had a way to hack into it..." Henry said, as Gammamon flew over to it, looking at it, as some binary code was seen reflected through his eyes, and the digital lock suddenly unlocked. "Or Gamms can do... Whatever the heck he just did." Zorch said, as he sped into the mummy exhibit. "Zorch, wait up! The rest of us aren't as fast as you are!" Casey called to him, running over to him, as the others followed. Vulk looked at all the Mummies, a sinking feeling in his chest. 'This is what humans look like when they die?!' He thought to himself, completely scared. 'I don't want that to happen to either Casey or Henry!' Suddenly, a yellow eye protruded out of one of the mummies, as a peculiar creature walked out in front of the group, starting out as it started walking out from inside the mummy, and then out of the display case.
This creature looked like a mummy, that was a given. But something about it seemed... strange. Henry froze up in fear, looking at the living mummy, feeling his heart stop beating for a brief moment, but he still put himself in front of his little sister, trying to protect her, as Gammamon and the Infernites then stood in front of the two siblings, trying to defend them in turn. "Who the heck are you?!?" Gammamon snarled at the creature. The mummy just turned to face the group of six. It was hard to know what this mummy had on its mind, as its facial expression was as blank as an empty canvas. "I am Mummymon." It answered. "So, you aren't a Mixel..." Flain said, as he noticed Casey stepping forward, going over to Mummymon. "C-Casey!" He shouted, as Casey reassuringly smiled at the red Mixel, as if saying she'd be ok. "Hey, Mummymon? Do you know someone by the name of Carlos Almenera? He's my dad...!" Casey asked the tall mummy, earning a response in the form of Mummymon shaking his head. "Alas, I know not of your father, young one..." Casey then tried to think of another question to ask the creature, before looking over to Flain, and then back at Mummymon. "Then, do you at least know about any colorful creatures that don't look like humans? Please, we need to know!" Once again, Mummymon shook his head. "I do not know. My deepest apologies, young one." Was the only answer that came out of his mouth.
"So much for getting answers..." Henry said with a deep sigh, as then, in the blink of an eye, Mummymon's demeanor quickly changed. Two long strands of Bandages came from Mummymon's arm, and zipped towards Gammamon, who swiftly dodged them, then Flain and Vulk, who also dodged it, and Casey, who Zorch pushed out of the way with his speed, leaving Henry to be ensnared by the Bandage wrap Mummymon shot at the group from head to toe, disabling him of any movement. "¡¿Qué diablos es esto?! L-LET ME OUT OF HERE!" He shouted, as Casey ran over to her brother. "Henrio!!" She screamed, as Flain, Zorch, and Gammamon glared at Mummymon. "Let Henry go right now!" Gammamon snarled, as Mummymon pointed to the four of them. "There is nothing wrong with the four of you." He told them, as the trio of red mixels and the white triceratops charged towards him, before Mummymon shot out more bandages towards them, before Casey saw another word.
[ボルカニックボレー]
"VOLCANIC VOLLEY!" Casey shouted, as the fire on Flain's head erupted like a volcano, and then shot out a few fireballs that burnt the incoming bandages to a crisp. Mummymon growled, as he picked up the bandage-bound Henry, and carried him off. "HENRY...!" Casey screamed, reaching her hand out, as she watched Mummymon swiftly disappear into the darkness of the museum, carrying her older brother. Zorch then remembered what Henry had told him a few hours earlier-'If something happens to me, I want you, Vulk, Flain, and Gammamon to protect her for me...' He heard his voice in his head. The crimson infernite sighed, as he walked over to Casey. She had to know the truth.
"Yo, Casey?" He asked her, as she then turned to face him. "There's something that I gots to tell you... Earlier, when Henry and I walked into the Egypt exhibit, he told me that if anything happened to him, it would be up to me, the other infernites, and Gammamon to protect you." Casey's eyes widened. Was he seriously trying to protect her like this? It didn't sit right with her! "Even then, I don't want to live in a world where I don't have my brother with me!" Casey said, tightening her fists, as a faint glow came from her cubit pendant. "We just need a way to track down Henry and Mummymon.." She then started pacing. Gammamon instantly ran in front of Casey, a wide smile on his face. "Don't worry, Casey!" He squeaked. "Just leave it all to Gamms!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Put me down! Are you even listening to me?!" Henry screamed at Mummymon, who was taking him to an abandoned underground subway station, filled with other people cased inside bandage wraps. "Wh-What have I ever done to you to deserve this?!?" One man screamed, scared. "What is even going on?" A grown woman asked. "Please, let me out!" An elderly man shouted. Mummymon looked over at all the other countless people it had trapped, a wicked smile on its face. "Further embrace the darkness. Then you shall attain eternal rest." Henry's eyes widened in realization. "'Eternal rest?'" He repeated. "Does that mean becoming a mummy...? Stop saying such stupid stuff! Let me and all these other people go!" Henry then shouted.
Suddenly, the bottom of the bandage casing that Henry was in began to burn, making a hole for him to slide through and run to safety. "Henry!" Casey called to her brother, as he then had seen small flames in Betel Gammamon's hands. No doubt about it- Betel Gammamon was the one who freed him. "Told y'guys I could find him! All it took for me to do it was for me to follow his scent!" Betel Gammamon said with a smirk. Casey giggled, facing the red dinosaur. "Nobody here doubted you, Betel." She said, as she then turned to face Mummymon, a look of fury on her face. "Let all these other people go, NOW!" Mummymon just growled at the girl, holding up what looked like a rifle. "You little..." He began, looking at Casey furiously. "How dare you steal my patient away from me!!" Mummymon roared, as he began wildly shooting the rifle that was once on his back, while the group of 6 quicky went for cover.

"I'm finished...!" One of the people captured by Mummymon weakly moaned, as it then ceased fire, to look over at its so-called 'patients'. "Do not despair." The mummy-like creature began. "I promise to heal every last one of you." Mummymon began to open fire again, walking slowly towards the group. "Patient, heal..." Flain mumbled. "Hey! Are you even a doc-" The leader of the infernites then tried to ask, before getting cut off by some bullets from Mummymon's gun. "Dude, if you're really a doctor, you've got the wrong idea, man! Doing something like this won't heal any humans!" Mummymon kept shooting, slowly and slowly coming closer to him and the others. "I've come to the human world and seen the truth with my own eyes." it began. "This is the pathway to eternal life; The art of medicine in this world full of Humans!" Casey lightly growled. "Please, Mummymon, just listen to us!" Casey begged. "I HAVE NO EAR TO LEND TO THE LIKES OF YOU!" The creature roared at her, about to ensnare her like it had with those other people and Henry, but each time the bandages tried to touch her, they'd somehow burn up instantly, while her cubit pendant started glowing once again. Mummymon then shot its rifle at her, but as soon as the bullets got an inch close to her, the bullets would instantly melt. It was at this moment, Casey thought back to something from her days back in Spain, and something her father, Carlos Almenera, had once told her when she was little.

Little 5-year-old Casey Almernera had returned from preschool, her face covered in scratches. Carlos Almenera, who had noticed the scratches, started preparing her a glass of Leche Merengada to cheer her up, and soon after, he started to patch up her scratches and other injuries. "Casey, Mi pequeña flor de españa," He began. "Your big brother can't protect you all the time." Small Casey sniffled as he put a bandage on her forehead. "Henrio can't protect me all the time?" She repeated, as her father nodded. "But you know what?" He then asked her, earning a response in the form of the little girl who would soon grow to love Mixels tilting her head slightly. "In times like those, you need to protect him, and your friends. I know, you keep telling yourself you're not strong enough or brave enough to do most things. But your creativity, Casey, m'girl... That's something that I know will help you find a way. So just believe in who you are- A kind little girl with so many creative ways to solve the problems that are in front of her." Casey looked up to her dad, and, with the last sip of her Leche Merengada, nodded. "Okay, Papi!"

"I know I'm not one to fight. Heck, people I've met back in my old home of Spain have called me Tímido y débil- Timid and weak. But if there's one thing I know, it's that my big brother always does everything he can to protect me whenever danger is around the corner. But sometimes, he won't be able to protect me. So, this time- No, I mean from here on out- I'm going to protect my big brother, and all the friends I meet along the way!" With those words being said, the interface on her smartwatch lit up with red light, as the glass part of her Cubit pendant began to light up with red and crimson light. In an instantaneous moment, the Infernites began to glow as well, as if something inside of them was responding to her determination to protect her beloved ones. The three came together in a red spiral of light, and ultimately formed a new creature.
At first glance, this new creature could be mistaken for a bigger version of Zorch. It somewhat had the head of Zorch, with a notable mouth that had a total eight teeth (four small ones on the top, two medium ones on the bottom, and two large ones on the bottom corners). It had two large eyes and "ears" on its head, with the back of its head having two flames that somewhat resembled hair. It had two arms, which looked a lot like Vulk's, as they had three heated fingers on each hand. Its body, much like its head, mostly resembled Zorch's, but more round, and also had a large cubit-like chest in the center of its stomach. Lastly, it had two Zorch-like feet, and a fiery tail of some sort. It didn't seem to contain any specific features of Flain, however...

Betel Gammamon, Henry, and even Mummymon looked shocked at seeing this new creature, but Casey, being the Mixel fangirl she was, couldn't help but smile. "I can't believe I'm seeing this..." She happily said. "The Infernites Max is standing right in front of me for me to see with my own two eyes!" The infernites Max looked down at Casey, a small smile on their face. "I feel truly honored to be in your presence, Casey Almenera. You and Henry should stay back. Betel Gammamon and I got this." Infernites Max then told her, as he and the red form of Gammamon both dashed at Mummymon, who opened fire on the red beings, but kept missing due to the both of them being so fast. It was then that Casey saw a new word flow into her mind as Betel Gammamon jumped up towards Mummymon to attack.
[ソルブロー.]
"SOL BLOW!" Casey shouted, as Betel Gammamon swiftly punched the Mummy-like creature with a large number of flames amassed within his fists. Betel then looked over at Infernites Max and simply nodded, a small smirk on the Dinosaurian-humanoid's face. Casey then saw another word begin to flow into her mind, as the 2 small flames on the side of the Burning golem's head enveloped it, forming a knight's helmet made of flames that didn't seem to hurt it at all. But she wasn't the only one who saw this word- For some reason, Henry was able to see it this time, too.
[ブレイジングナックル.]
"BLAZING KNUCKLE!" Both the siblings shouted, as Infernites Max dashed towards Mummymon, hit Mummymon in the chest with a fist full of fire. Mummymon then jumped back, about to shoot both Infernites Max and Betel Gammamon with his rifle, before Casey went in front of the two red creatures, spreading her arms out to protect them. "Casey!" Betel Gammamon called to her, worried, and just as Infernites Max was about to tell her to get back, the girl started to calmly converse with Mummymon. "Your way of treatment is wrong, Mummymon." She told the mummy-like beast, keeping her cool. Mummymon just glared at her, with the same kind of glare that could scare a little kid. But Casey Almenera wasn't backing down. "A doctor shouldn't be killing their patients! Please listen to me, Mummymon. Humans don't resurrect. Once we die, we become like the mummies that were on display." Mummymon looked at her, shocked. "Wh-What?!" Casey then walked up to him calmly, putting her arms down to her sides, with a gentle and warm smile on her face. "That's an ancient Egyptian method used thousands of years ago. It's not what's done to heal people in the current age!" She explained, as Mummymon fell to its knees, almost as if her words had seriously wounded it.
Suddenly, 2 bright red glows came from behind Mummymon, as Betel Gammamon became Gammamon once again, and Infernites Max split apart, as Flain, Vulk, and Zorch reappeared where the Golem of fire once stood. "Hey, Flain? How did you, Vulk, and Zorch max without the use of a Cubit?" Casey asked the literal hothead of the Infernites tribe, as he turned around to face her. "If I had to guess, I think it was because you had a bit of an 'awakening', as we like to call it." Casey looked confused. "Awakening?" She asked, Flain nodded. "Yeah. You could say that these awakenings are like a manifestation of determination that causes a tribe to Max without the use of a cubit... I'm not really the best at explaining it, though. If we ever find Mysto, I'm sure he could explain it to you in full detail." Casey nodded in understanding, as she looked over to Mummymon. "Meet us out by the lake." Mummymon nodded, as he left for the lake.

And while Casey, Henry, Gammamon, and the Infernites freed Mummymon's former captives, what looked like an orange and black cycloptic snake with a smaller red snake as its tongue that was nearly size of a child had watched the whole battle from atop an overhead beam made of Stone, having its tail coiled up on the beam. This creature was one of the stealthiest members of a Mixel tribe focused on ninjitsu known as the Nindjas- This mixel in question was none other than Cobrax.
"Huh, Akane wasn't kiddin' when she said Uver picked the right person to be partnered up with the Infernites." The Cycloptic snake mixel said to himself under his breath. "But if that girls' brother was able to see and give the command to Infernites Max as well, does that mean...?" Cobrax shook his head. "Nah, that's completely impossible! He doesn't even have a Pendit. Unless..." And with that last bit of soft mumbling, he slithered off to share his findings with the other Nindjas, and this mysterious 'Akane' person he had mentioned.

"I greatly misunderstood..." Mummymon sadly said, as the group of six arrived by the lakeside to meet up with him. "Don't worry, Mummymon! Things like this happen all the time!" Vulk reassured him. Henry nodded in agreement with the cycloptic infernite. "Vulk's right, it was just a simple misunderstanding. Besides, there's quite a lot of famous hospitals in Santa Monica. So why not go to those hospitals and learn how?" Henry said, as he pulled out a small map of the city, with the locations of the city's hospitals circled with red markers. Mummymon gently took the Map out of Henry's hands, and then left. Henry then looked over to Casey, as the two Siblings walked on their way home. "By the way, thanks for rescuing me, Casey. Same with you and the infernites, Gammamon." Henry smiled, before Gammamon pointed in front of the group. He saw what looked like a yellow bipedal rabbit following Alya, but that wasn't the only thing that stood out...
Amber wasn't too far behind her little sister, but three strange creatures were following her, too. But these creatures weren't rabbits like the one following Alya, but they certainly weren't humans, either. Each one of them was black and grey, with a small bit of gold somewhere on their bodies.
The first creature was mostly grey in color, with a squared head with an eye on each side. It had a dark grey tapering body, that houses two small black legs. Its feet were black and wide at the ends, with gold triangular decorations at the toe. Its arms, strangely enough, seemed to be located on its head. Its left arm was small and grey, which tapered out into a grey pincer hand. Its right arm, in large contrast to its left arm, was a giant grey robot-like arm with a segment at the elbow, a black hand, and three grey fingers with segments at the knuckles. Its mouth seemed very large and had a pair of buck teeth that stuck out downwards. On the top of its head were four rocky decorations, two black eyebrow-like ones, a gold one in the center and a light grey one near the back. It also had a gold triangular stone on its back.
The second one, similar to the first one, was mostly grey in color. However, unlike the first one, it had a round disc-like body that also seemed to act as its face. It had a large single eye (akin to Vulk) in the center of its face, with a dark grey unibrow covering the top of it. Two dark grey horns were attached to grey connectors seemed to be rested on top of that. It had two gold rectangular marks on its cheeks. Covering its mouth, it had a big, toothless jaw that looked like it could move whenever it was to speak. It had short grey arms with dark grey pincer hands. Its legs were very long, as the creature's right leg was gold on top and grey on the bottom, while its left leg was grey on the top and light grey on the bottom. Its feet looked to be very large. They were both grey, though the bottoms of them had various squares of grey, light grey, and gold.
The third and final creature, much like the two before it, was mostly grey in color, and similar to the second one, was taller than the first one. Its body and head, somewhat like the first one, were one connected roundish shape. It had an eye on each side of its face and three fangs that pointed upwards from its mouth. It also had a gold gemstone that seemingly stuck out of its head, similar to that of a king's crown. Its body had a noticeably rocky texture to it. Its arms were black and widen at the ends. Its hands were also black and pincer-like. Its legs were short and black, and they seemed to connect to a pair of boot-like feet. Both of its feet seemed to be grey and gold, but the colors on them were placed on random.
"Hey, those are the Cragsters!" Flain smiled, as he saw them. "Well, at least we found some more mixels, even if that isn't exactly what happened at first." Casey smiled. "But that leaves three questions. Why and how are they here..." "And who's the giant rabbit?" Henry finished. Gammamon shrugged in response, but he knew very well that soon, the lives of the Roark siblings were about to change forever, as meanwhile, in the bushes behind the small group of 6, there was yet another reddish-orange glow...
