'Holograms, a famous form of technology that is widely renowned far and wide in the city of Santa Monica. In the year 2024, all kinds of paranormal phenomenon occur all over the city. The humans who dwell within this lively city began to refer to them as... Hologram Ghosts.'

_______________________________________________________

It had been a whole week since the group had met the Idol MaiMellow, who was really their classmate, Melody Yagira, and helped her and her Mixel partners, the Mixies, handle a rogue Digimon named Sirenmon, who was inspired by Melody's work as MaiMellow to sing, yet she forced people to hear her sing, and that, along with kidnapping the people who went to the Idol's concerts, and turned them into both her figurative and literal puppets. It only took a moment's worth of a battle, to get Sirenmon un-nixed, and for her to realize what she did was wrong, as she turned the humans back to normal, and then left the city to properly train her voice and her songs. However, Gammamon's encounter with Melody and the Mixies, let alone encouraging the Idol to accept help from him and the others to put an end to Sirenmon's plot, was only the first step to a new stage of growth for the triceratopsian baby Digimon. However, more seems to be happening from the shadows than expected...

________________________________________________________

It was an after-school afternoon that had started off normal enough for Casey (Or at least, as normal as life could get for someone when you, some of your friends, and your older brother all have creatures from another world), as she had stopped by Lady Chocolatt on her way home, which was a local candy shop close to Angelwood Middle School that most of the kids went to hang out, and also get a sweet treat. And she didn't exactly go alone. Gammamon came with her, as did Flain, Kiyo, Jellymon, and Flurr. "Honestly, Casey, it's really nice that you did this for me after last week's events." The class representative told her with a smile, as he took a bite of some of the peppermint candy he bought from the shop as he walked out with everyone else, as Gammamon flew ahead of the group, holding a box of chocolate malt balls that Casey bought for him. "Yummy & Sweet, my Champs~! Yummy & Sweet, my Champs~!" The little Digimon sang happily, as Casey went over to Gammamon, a Cherry flavored Chupa chup lollipop in her mouth. "You really should wait 'til we get back to the house, Gammamon." She told him, as Gammamon shook his head, as he opened the small box.

 "It's only just a small bi- AAAAH~!!" Gammamon then shouted as he took a claw-full of three chocolate malt balls, which fell to the ground thanks to a small gust of wind, and a crow found and began to peck at one of the Malt balls. "Noooo...!" Gammamon sadly whimpered, waving his arms side to side. "Poor lil' dude..." Flain said to himself, feeling sympathy for him as the Infernite finished his hot tamales candy. "Get back here right now...!" Gammamon cried while trying to fly after the bird, as Flurr then shook his head. "Considering the crow's size and wingspan, it's much faster and mobile than Gammamon." The leader of the Frosticons said to himself, as Gammamon  flew over to Casey. "Casey~! Make that birdie give it back~!" The little triceratops Digimon whined, still upset due to what the crow did, as Casey pat his head to try and cheer him up. "Don't worry, Gammamon. We've got plenty of chocolate back at the house. Plus, if it makes you feel any better, I'll make you a glass or two of leche merengadas." She told him, as seeing Gammamon this upset reminded her of how back in her younger days in Spain, whenever she was upset, her dad would make her favorite drink to cheer her up. But then, Casey got a text from a mysterious ID.  The text read as follows;

'Casey Almenera, you and your friends aren't the only ones who have Mixels. But unlike you and your friends, some don't prefer to use them to fight. Rather, they prefer to treat them how they treat them- With kindness. But, back to the point. I'd like you, your friends, and your Mixels to help my friend who attends Cosmic Field Academy. Meet me and her at Cafe Luxxe, and we'll explain everything to you and all your friends. Considering her plight and the perplexing means of how it happened, you're all the only ones who can help me help my friend.

Signed, Thorne.'

"This Thorne person seems awfully mysterious, Casey. Should we really trust them?" Flain asked her, as she nodded. "Truthfully speaking, we shouldn't, but even then, I can't turn down anybody who needs my help. You'd know that yourself, Flain. So, let's hit the others up, and meet Thorne and her friend at Cafe Luxx."  The Mixels fangirl smiled, as she took out her phone, sent the Message to the others, and headed over to the cafe, unaware that a girl wearing an orange T-shirt, a headband with a shuriken on it, and Black leggings was watching the quintet head to the cafe from within a darkened alleyway, a smile on her face as she looked at Gammamon, and as swiftly as she had arrived, the girl had disappeared without a trace...

________________________________________________________________________

Upon reaching Cafe Luxxe, Casey and the others were met with a duo of children sitting at a table that had a beige pet carrier bag on top of it. Both girls were around Alya's age, one with a tan dress-like shirt with a thin, black line on the dress' waistline, silver-ish grey leggings, a pair of falconer's gloves on her hands, and small, silver shoes with little bows on them. As for the other girl, she wore a flower-patterned shirt with long, green sleeves, a hibiscus flower in her hair, a floral skirt, and some Hawaiian sandals. It was then that Alya, upon seeing the two girls, had a bit of a smile appear on her face, as she ran over to them, ever so happy. "Rose! Hannah!" She shouted, as she hugged them, as Rose looked over at Casey and Henry. "I take it you both got my text. Almenera siblings, we need the help of you, your friends, and all your Mixels. See, Hannah's pet canary, Cherry, went missing, and-" The little girl started, before Zorch scoffed. "Seriously? A missing bird? Sorry, kids, but we're not a bunch of pet detectives. Besides, we've got more important things to do." The crimson Infernite told the 2 children, before Henry glared at him, getting the prankster of the Infernites to shut his mouth, before calmly looking over at the girls. "Sorry about that, you two. Zorch can be a bit of a handful sometimes. But, Rose, I want to ask you a few things before we carry this conversation onward." He told her, as he sat down at the table to talk with the girl.

"So, for starters, you mentioned the Mixels in the text that you sent my little sister multiple times. How do you know about them?" He calmly asked the girl, as Rose then pointed to her bag, which had a small charm on it- A charm that looked like a beige and light brown cubit. "A Pendit..." He said, still looking at it in awe, as Gammamon flew over to, and peered inside the bag, to see something peculiar. "Casey, guys! There's something in the bag!" He said, as pair of singular silver claws poked out of the bag, as a beige blur quickly hopped out of the bag. And when the blur hopped out of the bag, it was revealed to be a Scorpion-like Mixel of a peculiar, spikey nature.

This new Mixel was mostly tan in color. Its head was a slightly angular shape with two giant glistening eyes that could potentially gain silver irises. It had a somewhat small mouth with sharp teeth, with a pair of darker tan stripes on his cheeks. There was a black piece on top of the Mixel's head with two dark tan curved points on top, and two sharper points on the sides of its head. Its body was tan in color, and rectangular in shape, with a black stripe on the top and bottom of it. Two silver spikes could be seen on each side of its body. The mixel had eight small, tan legs, with the back six ones having black tips, and the front two having silver ones. There were also two dark tan spines on his back. Lastly, this scorpion-like Mixel had a somewhat long grey tail with a small tan tip that had a pair of silver blades on it.

"Scorpi!"Casey happily shouted upon seeing the leader of the Spikels, as Scorpi let out a frightened yelp, and jumped into Rose's arms, shaking a bit. "Oh yeah, you're super skittish, I forgot..." She then mumbled, as Rose calmly stroked Scorpi's head like a cat, helping him calm down. "Alright, that explains that- You're the Spikels' partner. Now, that leaves us with my second question, which coincides with what we were talking about earlier- How exactly did Hannah's canary go missing?" Henry proceeded to ask, as Hannah then spoke up. "Well, I don't know the exact details, but when I went to check on Cherry, I saw that her cage was melted, and what's more, a murder of crows tried attacking me." She said, as Kiyo just looked at her in shock. "M-Melted?!" He asked, as Rose nodded. "Yeah. Ever since yesterday when Cherry first went missing, me and Hannah have been searching for her. A while after we started searching, we both found Scorpi. He told us that he could help us find Cherry, as well as help him find his friends, Footi and Hoogi. It's like a bit of a team effort like that!" She explained, as Scorpi nodded frantically.

"Help him find Hoogi and Footi?" Vulk asked, as Scorpi nodded again, as he then jumped onto the table, fallen on his back, then quickly got back up on his 8 legs, and then started looking around, as if he were searching for something or someone. "Hopefully I got what you're saying right, but when you and the other Spikels came to our world due to Regulusmon devouring Planet Mixel and the Mixel Moon, the three of you all got separated?" Casey asked, prompting a nod from the small scorpion-like Mixel, and a look of shock from the rest of Casey's group (sans Henry). "Wait, you can understand him?" Jellymon asked, as Maya added her two cents, backing up Casey. "Well, to be fair, Scorpi can't talk, and therefore makes squeaking noises..." She said, as Casey then nodded. "That, and I'm the champ when it comes to charades." The Mixels fangirl said, as she turned to face both Scorpi and Hannah. "Hannah, Scorpi, leave finding Cherry, Hoogi, and Footi to us. I promise, we'll help you both find you've lost." She told them with a smile, resulting in Scorpi hopping down onto Henry's lap, then onto the ground, as the little Spikel rubbed his head against Casey's legs, causing Kiyo to look at her nervously. "Doesn't that hurt?" He whispered to her, as she shook her head. "Not really. Sure, the Spikels may be sharp Mixels in texture, but the spikes on their bodies feel like a small needle. At least, maybe that's what I think the skin of a human perceives it as compared to a Mixel's..." Casey thought out loud, remembering yet another thing from calling all Mixels.

_________________________________________________________________

Soon enough, Hannah went on her way home, glad that she could trust Casey and the others with this request, but it was then that a nervous look grew on Kiyo's face. "Violent crows breaking an electric lock and attacking someone..." He mumbled to himself, causing the rest of the group to look at him in confusion, save for Scorpi, who saw a butterfly, and begun to chase it. "It'd be okay if me, Maya, Jellymon, and both the Electroids and Frosticons leave, right?" Angelwood Middle's Class Representative asked them, as Rose shook her head. "Not to sound rude, but you can't. You're the only ones who can figure out the truth!"  She said, as she pulled out a small laptop, and showed the group a page on the Phantom's Den website, which read, 'Yatagarasu in Santa Monica?' Maya looked over the article, and then began to read it aloud to the group. "There have been reports of a drone-like object shaped like a bird flying in the skies above Santa Monica. It has been seen leading large murders of crows to multiple locations within the city. Most of the citizens believe this could be another case of a Hologram Ghost, while others speculate that it could be Yatagarasu, the legendary giant crow of Japan. The question of what this anomaly is up to, as well as how and why a yokai from Japan came to California, however, is up to public speculation..." She read, as Casey looked at the image next to the Article, which was of a night sky, as well as a giant crow leading a murder of crows.

"Just taking a shot in the dark here, but it's probably the doings of a Digimon..." Melody said to the group, as all the Mixels nodded in agreement. "Exactly what I've been thinking." Alya nodded. "Plus, Angoramon said it's more than likely." Casey nodded in understanding. Considering the run-in that she and Henry had with Mummymon, and then the more recent occurrences involving Dracmon, Majiramon, and Sirenmon, it was more than likely that it was a Digimon. "When you put the puzzle pieces together, each and every encounter we've had with a Digimon brought us a small bit closer to our goal regarding the prophecy..." She then said, as Melody then snapped her fingers in realization. "So, not only could this whole thing be connected to Hannah's missing bird, but also to finding Hoogi and Footi... We need to investigate this further!" She said, as while most of the group nodded in agreement to the plan to investigate the rumors of Yatagarasu's appearance in the city, Kiyo simply shook his head.

"Well, truth is, I'm a bit busy with my duties as Class Representative, and Maya here's gotta catch up on some work for her extracurricular classes, so we can't exactly-" He began, before Henry nodded in agreement with Melody's statement. "It's not like we have any other options on how to get through this. When it comes down to things like this, the first step is to gather all the information possible regarding the rumor." Kiyo just turned to face Casey's older brother in shock. The look that the Human partner of the Frosticons gave to him, Henry knew exactly what he was saying. "Look, if this Digimon posing as Yatagarasu is kidnapping other people's pet birds and making crows attack humans, and if we even take into account the possibility of that Digimon being responsible for taking Footi and Hoogi, we can't risk other people getting hurt or involved, which means Rose is right- We ARE the only ones who can put an end to this." He told Kiyo, before Jellymon flew in front of Henry and Kiyo.

"Don't worry, everyone- My cowardly Darling is just too timid to handle an investigation. Plus, he cares too much for Maya's wellbeing to get her involved. If you were to ask me, he can't handle this, and he also shouldn't put words in Tiny Thunder's mouth!" The Mollusk Digimon told the rest of group, as Kiyo shook his head. "Hey, I can handle it!" He then proceeded to defend himself, as he then smirked. "Besides, nothing's impossible for Kiyoshiro Shima, the genius of Angelwood Middle School!" It was only then that Kiyo noticed what he had said, and as the saying goes, 'what is said, is said, and what is done is done'. "Well, it looks like our goal is set!" Casey said with a smile, as Gammamon nodded in agreement. "Then we'll start our investigation tomorrow." Henry said. "Rose, Melody, Casey, Amber, and Maya all have school tomorrow, so Kiyo, you, me, Alya, Gammamon, Jellymon, and the other Mixels save for Flamzer will take the Morning shift." He explained. "Besides, Maya told me that your school's Principal, Mr. Graham, exempted you from your classes tomorrow since she told me that you do all your schoolwork in advance." Kiyo just stared down at Scorpi, who came back with the butterfly that the scorpion-like mixel was chasing earlier now sitting on his head. "Speaking of, Mr. Kiyo, um... What is it that you do during the day with your spare time?" Rose asked him as she picked up Scorpi in her arms, trying to make a bit of small talk with Angelwood Middle School's class representative, who still stared at the small scorpion-like mixel, causing Jellymon to face her partner. "Get your head in the game, Darling!" She told Kiyo, who nodded. "Right, sorry..." Kiyo apologized, as from above the group, the giant crow flew overhead, unnoticed by our heroes, heading for a destination that only it seemed to know, with something jammed in its chest.

____________________________________________________________________________

Soon, the giant crow slowly descended into the backyard of an abandoned house, which was lined with Nixels of all sorts near the fencing. Regular Nixels, Muscle Nixels, Slap Nixels, and so much more, most of them guarding a large, grey cage. The giant crow landed on a lone branch on a dead tree, and while the crows perched themselves atop the lining of the fences, Aleena walked over to the tree. "Yatagaramon, I'm so glad you decided to join our cause." The teen said to the giant crow, who flew down from the tree, and stood right in front of her. "Sure, Major Nixel plans to use you and the other six to test Gammamon to see if he holds the same power as the Devourer of Space. I won't deny it- Majiramon failed us, but Sirenmon's fight with the Chosen ones and their newer allies has proven that Gammamon does, in fact, possess the same power as him. All he lacks is the form needed to fully wield it." She said with a smirk, as the nixed Glowkies went over to Aleena's side. "A form granted by an evolution of which you and these insignificant Glowworms will trigger. But if we plan on triggering that evolution, we need to lure the Chosen ones into a trap. And I know exactly how to do it..." She then explained, as Yatagaramon shot out glowing balls of light at the crows. The light didn't hurt the crows in the slightest, but once the light touched the crows, their eyes began to glow red. Amidst all their planning, the cage doors were cut open by a mysterious silver blade, giving whatever was inside the cage a chance to escape, while 3 silhouettes fought off the Nixels who took notice of the cage's inhabitants escaping.

__________________________________________________________________________

The next Morning, roughly around 11 AM, Henry led Kiyo, Gammamon, Jellymon, Alya, and most of the Mixels to a spare room in the Almenera household- A room which looked like some type of lab, with elements of a meeting room. "Honestly, I should've figured that mom would've bought a house with a room like this to remind her of Dad since he disappeared... Regardless, this part of the house should work as Headquarters for our group. At least, for the time being." He told himself with a small smile, as Kiyo came into the room carrying some equipment, with Slumbo carrying the rest of it in an attempt to help. "Kiyo, what is all this stuff?" Flain asked him, as he put his laptop down on the table, and Slumbo set down the equipment next to the laptop. "Well, Kiyo told us that if we were gonna set something like this up, we'd need equipment so we can track down the movement patterns of Yataragasu, which he claimed to be something really important." The Frog-like Frosticon explained, as Jellymon saw some strange, large rolled-up sheet of paper next to Kiyo's laptop. "What's this?" She mumbled to herself as she rolled it out, revealing a large map of Santa Monica, as Shuff went over to Jellymon, seeing that Jellymon had taken notice of the large map. "This map of Santa Monica that me drew! Me, Seismo, and Krader used it when we did Greatest Dig-Dig contest before we meet Amber. But me think it all be okay to use to help figure out movement pattern of giant bird." The oval-shaped Boulder Mixel explained to the mollusk Digimon, who then nodded. "Smart thinking, Pebble!" Jellymon smirked, as while Shuff looked down at the ground, embarrassed about Jellymon calling him a Pebble, Gammamon found a few loose cables, and started chewing on them. "This black licorice has no flavor..." The small Digimon mumbled, as he spat them out before anyone could get onto him about it.

Meanwhile, back at Angelwood Middle School during the lunch period, Casey went over to the school's animal club with both Melody and Amber by her side, and Flamzer poking his head out of the Mixel fangirl's backpack. "It'd only make sense to check the school's animal enclosure for clues." Melody said with a smirk. "Besides, if that giant crow is planning on releasing all the birds in Santa Monica, this would at least be a place to do it."  As the other 2 human girls stared at the girl who was secretly MaiMellow confusedly, Flamzer hopped out of Casey's backpack. "Even if we wanted to get information by investigating the enclosure, I don't think it'd do us any good, you guys..." The fiery shrimp-like mixel told the trio as he scuttled over to the animal enclosure, and found that all the birds were missing, and the only bit of evidence that could prove that the giant crow was behind it was a singular digital padlock with small, light orange ones and zeros emanating from it. "What the heck...?" She said, as she tried to pick it up, before Flamzer stopped her. "Casey, hold on!" He told her, stopping her hand from reaching the padlock with both of his claws. "I'm not completely sure about this, but despite the color of it, something about the energy from the binary code emanating from it seems similar to an I-cubit..." He then glanced over at the padlock suspiciously. So now, the three girls and the Infernite that tagged along with them now knew that something that looked like Yatagarasu, or some other giant crow, was freeing birds from cages and such with some sort of energy that could pop digital locks open like a soda can, and even went as far as to kidnap Hoogi and Footi once they got to the human world with Scorpi after Regulusmon devoured Planet Mixel and the Mixel Moon. "Well, School's gonna get out shortly. Once the bell rings, let's head back to your house, Case. We'll tell the others about the busted padlock, and the weird I-cubit energy coming from the binary code that kinda looks like it's bleeding out of the padlock." Amber said, as she took a photo of the Padlock on her phone to show to the others.

After the School bell rang and dismissed all the students, Maya and Angoramon joined the quartet of Melody, Amber, Casey, and Flamzer as they walked to Casey's house, before they saw someone outside a nearby pet store, who looked rather distressed. Someone who Maya recognized from school as one of her homeroom classmates, and also one of her closest friends, who wore a pair of goggles around his neck, and a few gear patterns on his shirt, and a peculiar pocket watch that was Silver and Gold. "Francis!" She called out as she then ran over to talk with him, worried. "May, thank god you're here! I just went into Petco to get Murphy a new toy, but Aleena just showed up out of almost nowhere, and once she walked in, she held the door open for a huge murder of crows, and they just melted all the cages!" Francis explained, still a bit shaken up by what happened a few moments ago, as Flamzer snuck behind Francis as to avoid his gaze, and then ended up finding a few more digital padlocks with the same light orange binary code ebbing out of near the broken windows of the pet store. The shrimp-like Mixel then glanced at the three girls, as Maya nodded. "Don't worry, Francis. We're currently getting to the bottom of the mystery involving the disappearance of the birds around town at the hands of Yatagarasu. But now that you bring it up, that's kind of weird. Aleena would never do something like this. She's more of a Goth / Theatre kid, not a 'Free all the birds in town and cause property damage' kid..." Maya then thought aloud to herself. "Regardless, we'll make sure that we talk to her about this when we see her next time." Amber told Francis, as he nodded, non-verbally telling her 'Thank you', as he then left for home, while Flamzer directed the kids over to him. "I found some more broken padlocks just like the one back at the Animal enclosure at the school." The Shrimp-like Mixel told them as they walked over. Deep down, Flamzer wanted to tell the 3 of them, especially Amber, about Aleena being nixed, regarding what Francis told them. But considering what Maya said, it would seem more likely that the girls wouldn't believe him. Angoramon walked over to the group, and then began to get a closer look at the binary code slowly ebbing out of the padlocks. "It seems like this binary code was made by something that can destroy digital cells." Angoramon told them, letting out a soft noise of thought. "At this point, it would only be reasonable to believe that the Digimon is sharing its powers with the crows." Casey then nodded in understanding. "So that's how the crows melted all the bird cages..." She thought to herself, before her phone rang. She checked the caller ID, and then saw that it was Henry who was calling her. "Hermana, you might want to get back to the house. Not only did we pinpoint the next location that the Giant Crow's going to hit tonight, but we also got a certain pair of sharp guests that are here to see Scorpi." Henry told her over the phone, as Casey nodded. "We're on our way, Hen." She told her brother over the phone, before hanging up. Flamzer hopped into the Mixel Fangirl's backpack, as the group of 5 ran towards the Almenera household, unaware that from atop a tall building, A small group of Nixels and the Glowkies were watching them as they went on their way. They knew that their newest ally would lead the Chosen ones to their demise this evening. But as for what they'd do to Francis for letting them know Aleena was involved in this scheme to test Gammamon to see if he could be exactly like the Devourer of Space that was Regulusmon in terms of strength, raw power, and capabilities? That would have to wait until another time. But for now, they just needed to wait for night to fall...

____________________________________________________________________

Once the group of 6 arrived at the house, they were greeted by the rest of the group and the other Mixels, and also the sight of two mixels that they had never seen before until now. Well, Mixels that neither Maya, Amber, nor Melody have ever seen, that is, but Casey, being the superfan of the Mixels franchise with vast knowledge of it thanks to Henry getting her into the franchise involving these colorful creatures, knew exactly who these Mixels were, as they were also from the Spikels tribe, just like Scorpi was. The first one was mostly tan in color. It had a rectangular body that also seemed to act as its head, with has eyes on each side of it. It had a long and well-defined jaw with black lining, with large teeth, two on each side. A darker tan stripe seemed to run down the top of its head, along with two silver Mohawk blades. A thick black stripe ran around its body as well. Its arms were black and thin, with a tan section at the top, with its hands being black and pincer-like, similar to any of the other Mixels. Its legs were very long and seemed to be bowed. At the top, they were grey, but they slowly turned dark tan at the knees. It had three dark tan spikes on his legs. Its feet were extremely large, with the bottoms being tan, while the tops are divided by shades of dark tan and black. It also had three silver bladed toenails on each of its two feet.

The second Mixel was mostly tan in color. Its body was rectangular and also acted as its head, with two eyes placed on the edges of its body.  It had a well-defined jaw with a darker tan stripe right above it, and two saber-like teeth that were pointed upwards. On top of its head was a darker tan stripe with a lone, singular spike. Its arms were silver and very long, with a set of two tan spikes on each of them. Its hands were a shade of darker tan with a black stripe and a single brown spike on both of them. Its fingers were tan, but seemingly shifted into silver blades near the end. It had short black legs that, similarly to the first Mixel, were bowed, and unlike the first Mixel, had boot-like dark tan feet with two brown toes on each of its two feet.

"So, while we were gone, Hoogi and Footi showed up at the house?" Casey asked, as Henry and the original Infernites nodded, as Scorpi climbed up from the table, and hopped onto, and then curled up on Hoogi's head. "Well, that's one problem solved, so that's good." Amber admitted. "But the only question I need to ask is this- How'd they even get here?" Maya then asked, as Hoogi showed her a map that led to the Almenera household, with an emblem on the bottom left corner that looked like a crimson shuriken. "A crimson shuriken... Did the Crimson Shinobi give them this...?" Alya mumbled, before looking over at the group of 6. "Oh, and Mr. Shima found out where the Digimon's headed, all thanks to him and Shuff pinpointing the locations where it freed most of Santa Monica's birds- It's headed to the Star Eco Station!" She told them. "And, if I'm allowed to explain, we found this out thanks to the Fibonacci sequence!" Kiyo told the group, causing most of the kids, Mixels, and Digimon to stare at the Class representative in confusion, before he placed the map that Shuff made onto the table, which had red drawing pins on certain parts of it, which had small orange string tied around the metal thorn of the pin, forming a spiral pattern, as Teslo then nodded in agreement with Kiyo's statement regarding the Fibonacci sequence.

"Sure, at first it may seem like the placez that the Digimon attacked were randomly selected, But as Flurr and I started connecting the locations it went to on Shuff's map, we both found out that it created a spiral..." Teslo began, as the draconic leader of the Frosticons nodded, and began to fly up onto the table, and moved one of his wings around, pointing at each of the drawing pins. "Just like an ammonite!" The blue mixel nodded, high fiving the Electroid leader with his other wing. "With all of that in mind, it would seem that our digital perpetrator has a plan to bring nature back to the city, and ultimately plans to go to the Star Eco Station to fulfill it." Flamzer said as he looked at the map, while Rose looked fearfully lost in thought. Henry, however, caught notice of this. "Rose? Are you okay?" Casey's older brother asked her, as Rose just said a few things- A few things, that would give everyone all the more of a reason to stop the Digimon who was freeing all the birds in the city. "Eagles, Hawks, Condors..." Rose mumbled, still so very frightened. "Dangerous predators of all sorts will be released into the city! People could get hurt...!" She told them, the pendit attached to her bag faintly glowing. Gammamon just nodded in agreement with her statement. "I'm with you, Rose. Not only do I want to protect everyone, but I also wanna get back at those crows for taking away my Champions!" The small baby triceratops told the young girl, as Casey then smiled. "Then it's clear regarding what we're gonna do- We're gonna head to the Star Eco Station, take down that Digimon, and set everything right!" The Mixels fangirl told the group, as they all grabbed whatever was necessary, and begun to make their way to the Star Eco station, before Casey left a note on the kitchen counter for her mom to see that read-

'Hen and I went out to see some of the sights within Culver City, the next town over from Santa Monica. Sorry in advance if we aren't back by the time that you get home from work! P.S- How do you make a bed fireproof? Just asking for a friend.'

____________________________________________________________________

After a long bus ride (and roughly an hour and 30 minutes of Henry trying to prevent Burnard from attempting to knock out the bus driver and ultimately end up driving the aforementioned bus) to Culver City, the group arrived at Star Eco Station. "Alright, now we just gotta stake out, wait for Yatagarasu to get here, fight him, and ultimately stop him from freeing the birds in there. Seems simple enough, if you ask me!" Jellymon smiled as she crossed her arms. Rose just looked down at the ground, which Scorpi took quick notice of, as he jumped out of her pet carrier bag, and then rubbed his head against her ankle. "Rose, are you okay?" Hoogi asked her, as the little girl just sighed. "Don't get me wrong, I want to help fight against Yatagarasu, but... I don't actually want to fight. I'm just a kid, after all..." She admitted nervously, as Footi got down on one of his knees to match up with Rose's height, and then gently rested a pincer hand on her shoulder. "Rose, listen to me- Sometimes, you may not want to fight, but you'll find times where you'll need to fight. Not only to protect yourself, but also to protect all the people around you." The tall Spikel Mixel calmly told her, as Rose nodded. "Yeah... I may not want to fight sometimes, but there's always a reason to fight." She said, as from behind Footi, she saw what looked like a giant bird behind him. "And I don't think we've got to wait... Yatagarasu's already here...!"  She said, as she hid behind Kiyo. Angoramon, taking closer inspection of the giant bird, quickly noticed what it was. "That isn't Yatagarasu... That's Yatagaramon!" He said to the group. "He's an Ultimate-level, Vaccine attribute bird Digimon who controls darkness...!"

Amber looked over to Casey, who simply just nodded. "Well, if Yatagaramon is said to bring the nightfall, we just need to bring the sunrise! Right, May?" The Mixels Fangirl asked the girl partnered to the Electroids, who then nodded. And then, as if it were just by thought, the 2014 Infernites and the Electroids Maxed, as Gammamon digivolved into Betel, and not a moment too soon- The crows were now here, and Betel was ticked off the moment he saw the crows. In case if those of you reading this at home have forgotten, Gammamon, let alone Betel Gammamon, hasn't forgotten what the crows did to him and his Chocolate. "So, you're the one controlling those black birds!" Betel Gammamon snarled, igniting an orange and yellow flame in one hand, and a blue and black flame in the other. "Gimme back my Champions!" He then shouted, as he jumped towards a nearby tree, and towards the crows, before Angoramon digivolved into Symbare Angoramon, and knocked Betel away from the crows. "Hey, I had them right where I wanted 'em...!" The red triceratopsian Digimon told the swift rabbit, before Symbare Angoramon shook his head. "Be that as it may, you can't rush in without a plan! What's more, if you got any closer to them, you would've touched the light of Yatagaramon's Savage Emperor! It would've killed you!" He explained, as Alya gave him the command to use Breakin' Stream to blow the crows away. It would've worked... If the crows didn't just move away from the tornado that the Beast-man Digimon created, and started flocking towards Rose, prompting Jellymon to digivolve into Tesla Jellymon. "Alright, murder marquises, you better fly away from the little girl, or else you're all getting mega-punished by me and Flurry-Blurry!" She said, as Flurr flew around the crows, being careful enough to not touch the light of Savage Emperor, causing Kiyo to see a new word.

[極渦.]

"POLAR VORTEX!" Kiyo shouted, as Flurr created an icy tornado, freezing the crows solid, all while it was all followed up with Amber commanding Krader to use Haymaker to break the ice they were encased within, making the crows retreat, and the Savage Emperor attack's light faded from the crows. "There we go! Now that only leaves us with taking down Yatagaramon!" Amber smiled, as she high-fived Kiyo, as Tesla Jellymon smiled at the duo. "Smart thinking, Goldie and Darling! Now, let's get 'im!" The Champion-level mollusk Digimon said, Betel Gammamon attempted to attack Yatagaramon with Sol Shot, before the giant bird Digimon let out a loud screech, which started purging the area around the chosen ones in complete Darkness. "That's Blackout! Everyone, get close to the Infernite cousins and both the Infernites Max and the Electroids Max! Hurry!" Symbare Angoramon said, as all the kids stood closer to the Mixels whom could generate light, as did the Mixels who couldn't, as the darkness drew nearer. Rose, on the other hand, couldn't move, as she was paralyzed by her own fear of the dark. "Rose, look out!" Betel Gammamon called out to her, getting over his Chocolate-related vengeance, as he dashed in front of her, taking a hit to protect her from Yatagaramon, soon being followed up by Symbare Angoramon, Tesla Jellymon, both the 2014 Infernites Max & the Electroids Max, and most of the Mixels getting hit by the giant crow Digimon as well, causing the three champion-level Digimon to degenerate back to their rookie forms, and the two Maxes to split apart. And when Blackout faded away, that was the exact sight the 8 human children saw. "Guys...!" Casey shouted with worry, as she and the other kids went over to their partners, before Angoramon spoke up. "Don't get any closer...!" He warned them. At first, Rose was confused as to why, before she and all the others looked up, seeing Yatagaramon staring at them all from above. "Okay, that is definitely not good..." Maya mumbled, as Teslo weakly looked up at Maya. "Maya, Yatagaramon iz just too ztrong.." He said weakly, small bits of battery acid leaking out of his wounds as if it were acting as blood. "You all need to get away from here... Leave us behind...!" Flain said, trying to get back up on his feet and fight, as Yatagaramon got closer to the 3 Digimon and the few mixel tribes who were taken down by Yatagaramon.

At this point, Rose couldn't deny it- She was, in fact, scared. But she remembered that Gammamon, when he was still Betel Gammamon, protected her from Yatagaramon. And she wasn't about to let that slide; Not without returning the favor! Her mind was made up, as she stepped forward, Scorpi in her arms, and both Hoogi and Footi beside her. "That's enough!" She shouted at the giant bird Digimon, as the rest of the group (The other Mixels and the 3 Digimon included) stared at her in shock, worried for the youngest Chosen One, as Yatagaramon began charging up Savage Emperor, all while the quartet of Rose, Scorpi, Hoogi, and Footi walked in front of Angoramon, Jellymon, Gammamon, the 2014 Infernites, and the Electroids. "Leave all 9 of them alone and go away right now, or I warn you..." The Chosen One of Cosmic Field Academy told Yatagaramon, as Scorpi jumped out of Rose's arms, all while she removed the Spikel Pendit from her bag, and placed it around her neck, as it then began to glow. "... We will fight you, to protect our friends!" She said, as Scorpi got in a pouncing position, as both Hoogi and Footi stepped forward, standing right by their small leader's side, before Gammamon got up, and dashed towards Yatagaramon. "Gimme back my Champions!" He snarled, as the little triceratopsian Digimon grabbed ahold of Yatagaramon's leg, and then began biting it. Did it really do much of anything? Not really, no. What it did do, however, was make Yatagaramon angrier, causing the giant bird Digimon to grab Scorpi in his talon, as he flew up past the clouds. "SCORPI!!" Both Hoogi and Footi shouted, worried for their leader, as the rest of the group looked up to see the Ultimate-level bird Digimon dive down, as it proceeded to throw both the little scorpion-like Mixel and Gammamon out of his clutches. Gammamon tried fluttering his wings, as he managed to grab Scorpi in his arms. "Gammamon!" Casey shouted, as she ran over to the other two Spikels and Rose, all while Gammamon tried fluttering his wings to try and control his fall, but to no avail. "Oh no!" Gammamon cried, scared. "I can't stop myself!" Casey looked over to Zorch. Even if Yatagaramon had injured the crimson Infernite or not, he couldn't get over to Gammamon in time! And while Flurr was the only Mixel the group knew that could fly (aside from Vampos and Globert), he wasn't that fast when it came down to it, either! "This is bad, this is really bad!" Casey began to panic. "Gammamon and Scorpi are gonna become Pancakes if we don't act quickly! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!" She screamed, before Footi took hold of both her hands with his pincer hands. "Casey, it'll be fine." He told her with a reassuring smile. "As long as we listen to our hearts!" Henry, who was holding Burnard in his arms just stared at Footi, mouthed 'seriously?' before Amber just elbowed him, as the tall Spikel ignored the two humans, as he then began to ballet dance back and forth. "Yes, we must listen to our ever-loving hearts! And my heart says..." Footi said, as he looked up at Gammamon and Scorpi. "'To save Scorpi and himself, Gammamon needs to listen to his heart'!" Gammamon, having heard every word Footi had told Casey, knew what he had to do. "Casey!" The little dinosaur called to her, as he was doing everything that he could do to protect Scorpi. "I wanna fly! I wanna fly, and I wanna save Scorpi!" Casey then glanced over at Hoogi, Footi, Rose, and all the others, as they all nodded. "Then listen to your heart, Gammamon!" She shouted.

"Fly! You're the only one who can save Scorpi, so fly, Gammamon! Fly!" Casey called to him, as Gammamon nodded. "Yeah... I'm the only one who can save Scorpi.. AND I WILL!" Gammamon told himself, as he began to glow with the same light of evolution the night that he and the Infernites first met Casey and Amber. But unbeknownst to everyone, the end result would be much different compared to Betel Gammamon.

"GAMMAMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...!" He shouted, as this time, not one, but two DNA helixes surrounded him. One was red, and the other blue. The red DNA helix faded away, resulting in the blue DNA helix being absorbed into his body, as Scorpi was sent flying upward, landing on top of the dome of light. Soon, the dome of light cracked open like an egg, resulting in Scorpi falling down a bit, before a strange, new Gammamon with yellow patagium extending from its arms to its thighs caught it on its back. This new Digimon was none other than...

"KAUS GAMMAMON!"

All of the kids, Digimon, and Mixels stared at the newly-digivolved Kaus Gammamon in awe, as the flying blue Triceratopsian Digimon veered upward from behind the Star Eco Station. "He digivolved again..." Casey began, as Amber followed up. "Yeah, but he's blue now, just like the Frosticons...!" She said, as the rest of the kids could only let out soft 'Woah's of amazement. "He's reached the second stage..." Flain forced a smile, a bitter memory in his mind reforged, as Seismo and the other Mixels helped Angoramon, Jellymon, the Electroids, and the 2014 Infernites up on their feet. "Way to go, Kauz!" Teslo cheered him on, as Kaus noticed what he was doing. "I... I'm flying...!" Kaus smiled, as he looked up at Scorpi. "I can really fly now, Scorpi!" he told the little Spikel, who shook his tail happily, as Yatagaramon just stared at the blue Digimon, almost as if it were disappointed. This wasn't expected as part of the plan Aleena had in mind, but an evolution was an evolution. Yatagaramon then proceeded to then shoot some black feathers at the duo, causing Scorpi to yelp in fear. He wanted to get off of Kaus Gammamon's back, but with no ground beneath him, he couldn't exactly do much. "Hang on tight, Scorpi!" Kaus Gammamon told the Spikel, who nodded, clutching onto the Dinosaur Digimon's back, as Kaus Gammamon swiftly flew out of the feather's aim. However, as Kaus Gammamon got closer to Yatagaramon, the Bird Digimon created a strong gust of Wind, knocking both him and the small leader of the Spikels back. That's when it all clicked in Flurr's mind.

"Kaus Gammamon's flying style is like that of a Glider's." The draconic mixel noted. "Either he rides the wind, or he'll lose momentum and Speed!" As soon as Flurr spoke up Casey knew exactly what she needed him to do. "Kiyo!" She called to the easily frightened Class Representative. "You and Flurr need to help Kaus Gammamon glide along the breeze!" She told him, as while Flurr flew beneath Kaus Gammamon, Kiyo saw a brand-new word flow into his head.

[ウイングフラップ.]

"WING FLAP!" Kiyo called out, as Flurr created a powerful gust of wind with his wings that carried Kaus Gammamon and Scorpi higher up. Once they were up high enough, Rose saw something flow into her head- something that seemed to be a word or two.

[バウンドバウンス.]

"BOUNDING BOUNCE!" The little girl shouted, as Scorpi took up his pouncing position once more, and leaped towards Yatagaramon, his spikes pricking the back of its neck, as it landed back on Kaus Gammamon's back. "Nice going, Rose and Scorpi! Now, it's our turn to finish this, Casey!" The blue evolution of Gammamon looked down at the Mixels Fangirl. Scorpi held tight onto Kaus Gammamon once more, as if he knew what would happen next, as Casey saw a new word in her mind.

[ウルダインパルス.]

"URDA IMPULSE!" She commanded Kaus Gammamon, as he began to ram into Yatagaramon, slowly freeing the object wedged into its chest. "And for good measure...!" Kaus began, as Casey then saw one last word flow into her head.

[ランベルタキック.]

"LAMBERTA KICK!" She shouted, as Kaus Gammamon flew upward, and then came crashing down with a somersault kick that ended up removing the object stuck in Yatagaramon's chest, which turned out to be a piece from an I-cubit, that, when it was removed, broke into smaller shards. "I... I think we did it...!" Rose smiled, before the group all saw Yatagaramon fly back up. "You want another takedown?" Kaus Gammamon asked the Bird Digimon as it flew back up towards him and Scorpi, before it simply just flew in the opposite direction of the duo of Digimon and Mixel.

(END SONG)

"Looks like he's running away." Melody spoke up, holding Tapsy in her arms, as Kiyo walked over to the Shards. "And I think I know why." He said, as the group walked over to Kiyo's side. "The broken remainz of an I-cubit..." Teslo mumbled, as Kaus Gammamon flew back down to the others, and right after Scorpi hopped off of the Digimon's back, Kaus Gammamon began to glow with blue light, thus turning back into Gammamon. "Gammamon, you did it!" Casey smiled, as she picked Gammamon up in her arms. "You saved Scorpi, and you both freed Yatagaramon!" She smiled, as Gammamon looked Casey in the eyes, a wide, happy smile on the little Digimon's face. "Yeppers!" He squeaked. "I also got 'im back for my Champions!" He smiled, as Henry walked over to Gammamon and his little sister, and then started patting the little triceratopsian Digimon on the head. "You sure did, little amigo."

______________________________________________________________

Once the group got back on the bus to head back to Santa Monica, Rose watched as the sun slowly began to rise. "That was really scary..." Kiyo mumbled, as Jellymon just glanced at her partner. "You may be a tiny bit pathetic, Darling, but you really helped Gammamon and Scorpi where it really mattered." She smiled, as Scorpi looked out the window, seeing Yatagaramon and some of the birds flying away, wondering where they were going. Angoramon took notice of Scorpi's curiosity. "Well, Scorpi, it's been said that Yatagaramon will lead the birds to the golden city of El Dorado." He said, knowing exactly what he was thinking, as Henry and Casey went over to the rabbit Digimon and the scorpion-like mixel. "Yeah, but why aren't all the birds going with Yatagaramon?" Henry asked Angoramon, who responded with a new haiku. "The caged bird yearns for freedom, whereas the wild bird years for friends." He told the siblings. "What's that mean, Hen?" Casey asked her brother, who just smiled. "It means the birds are free to choose who they're with, Hermana." He smiled, as Angoramon nodded. "Exactly, Henry. While some leave, some choose to coexist with humanity. It means bonds can take on different shapes and Sizes."

Meanwhile, at the back of the Bus, Flain was sitting by himself, lost in thought, before Flamzer went over to him, with the other 4 infernites by his side. "Flain? Are you okay?" The shrimp-like Mixel asked him, before Flain sighed. "I'm fine, cous... It's just..." Flain began, before looking over at Gammamon. "Earlier, when Gammamon Digivolved into Kaus Gammamon, I saw something in him... Something that felt oddly familiar. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about Gammamon that just feels... Dangerous." Vulk then sat down next to him. "You mean like that silhouette of that white dragon we saw behind him when we fought the Nixels the night we met Casey and Amber?" He asked, as Flain shook his head. "No, Vulk. Whatever that silhouette was, it was something that felt like its power came from Henry. We just didn't know it since we didn't know him at the time. What I saw in Gammamon earlier was something evil... Something related to the Devourer of Space..." He said, as Zorch scoffed. "C'mon, man! Gammamon's nothing like Regulusmon! He's too kind-hearted to be a world-destroying demon lord!" The leader of the Infernites then glanced down at the floor. "I know, I know, but... What if there really is something about our little buddy that Señor  Carlos didn't tell us about...?"
