Jotaro x Poke Champion!reader

I was helping a strange looking sea creature back into the water when I heard a voice call out into the night, "Hey you!" I stood up to look around.

There was a woman running down the beach towards me, "Yeah you! Get your hands off the fish!" She finally caught up to me, panting. "Your gonna hurt it if you do it like that." She pushed me out of the way, "You have to do it like this." She picked up the animal from the underside and walked out into the ocean with it cradled in her arms. It slowly swam out of her arms and back into the wide open water.

Her bottom half was soaking, her pants probably ruined, she handed me a small slip of paper, a card. A businesses card, "Here, don't do that alone, next time, call me."

I flipped over the small card in my hand, (Y/n) (L/n). I looked up back up to her. I huffed, "I can handle myself."

"Sure yeah all my big heroic guys take one marine biology class and think you know everything! News flash you don't!" She sarcastically did jazz hands. She turned away from me, crossing her arms and walking away. It was midnight, not the best time for a lady to be walking alone. I sighed rolling my eyes. I caught up to her quickly, She growled, "What?"

I lit a cigarette, "It's too late for somebody like you to be walking around, and your dripping wet."

"Are you calling me weak?" She asked, rubbing up and down her upper arms.

I took off my coat placing it on her shoulders, "No, you just don't know what people are capable of."

The moon shown giving us some light as we walked on the barren streets. Streetlamps buzzed to fill the quiet we shared. After a while she finally broke the silence, "So, What were you doing at the beach at midnight?"

"I could ask you the same thing," I looked back down to her shorter form.

She looked up to me, making eye contact, "You really wanta know?"

"Not particularly," I quipped.

"Ha ha," She rolled her eyes, then she went quiet, "Something  was off tonight, so I went the beach to calm down. I like the sound of the waves and the way the moon reflects off the water."

I raised an eyebrow, "What was so off?"

"I don't know, I'll decide if you tell me your side," she smirked back at me.

"Slyer than a dog," She laughed at my statement, "I couldn't sleep." I lied, the memories of egypt truly plagued my mind.

"Maybe it was fate then," She smiled. We walked up to a small little house, a surfboard leaning against the outside, "Fate works in mysterious ways." She walked up the little stairs up to the wooden door, she turned back to me, "Well this is my stop, thank you for walking me home," Another set of quiet moments pasted, "I hope you sleep well." She disappeared into her house. As I walked away I only then remembered that she still had my jacket on.  I put out my cigarette and smiled.

-----------------------------

I woke up, the sun through my curtains and the smell of breakfast washing over me. I yawned and stretched over my head. I looked to my clock on the wall that showed it was 8 am. I walked downstairs. My dad's music playing out of the record player. My dad looked up from the newspaper, "Oh sorry sweetheart did my music wake you up?"

I waved him off, heading to the laundry room, "No, wasn't a problem, I woke up soundly." I found my way to the dryer pulling out the big black coat with the name 'Jotaro Kujo' written on the tag. It was a little sandy when I got a hold of it so I decided to wash it for him. I picked up the chain that was detached from the collar currently and slowly reattaching it. I had to fiddle around with the fabric a bit, but overall not a problem. I slung it under my arm and headed to the breakfast table. My mom and dad already eating the eggs and hashbrowns.

"Good morning honey!" My mom smiled as she sipped on some coffee, then she noticed the big black mass in my arms, "What's that?" she asked.

"A coat, I went on a late night beach walk and saw a guy mishandling a relicanth, poor thing had beached itself. So I rescued it from his untrained hands and set it free! Then the guy walked me home, must have thought I was cold because he gave me his coat." I shrugged, sitting down and grabbing some breakfast for myself, "I'm gonna try to find him and give it back to him today."

My dad smiled, taking a drink of his steaming coffee, "Well not everyone is experienced as you my dear."

"Well he shouldn't have touched it! Who knows, it could have attacked him! He looked like no pokemon trainer to me!" I pointed out. My parents just laughed as we ate our breakfast. After I went and got dressed in a (F/C) shirt when I tied in the front, jean shorts and my white converse. I gave my hair a couple of brushes then pushed it back with a pair of sunglasses. I checked the time as I grabbed my keys, 10 am. I waved goodbye to my parents and heading out the front door. I hopped into my jeep driving off into the intercity of the coastal beach town.

-------------------------------

I leaned back in my chair, looking towards the street. Kakyoin going off on another ramble. "Anyway where's your jacket?" He asked.

"Ay yo Kujo!" A voice came out clear from one of the cars. It was (Y/n). I waved at her, she quickly parked her car and got out. She ran over to Kakyoin and I's table. She handed me my jacket, "Here you go, I washed it for yah, hope that's not an issue." She smiled.

"No, but thanks, thought for a minute you were gonna keep it," I said sliping the jacket over my shoulders. My coat now smelt of lavender, my nose wrinkled at the smell. I was trying to piece together where I had smelt it before until she sat down with us. She reached out her hand to Kakyoin, "Hi i'm (Y/n) I take it granted your mr ocean man's friend?"

My eyes widen as Kakyoin burst out laughing, after he caught his breath he finally responded, "Yeah I'm his friend. I've never ever heard someone call him Mr Ocean man though. Oh yeah I'm Kakyoin."

"I mean what else are you gonna call someone who met on the beach at midnight? His name? Where's the fun in that?" She laughed. We continued to talk for a while before she stood up to go get a drink.

Then Kakyoin turned to me, the most sly smile on his face, "So Jotaro, care to tell me what that's about?"

"What?" I glared back.

"You know what i'm talking about, spill the beans." He preached his head onto of his hands, the smug smile still remaining.

"There's nothing going on, keep your thoughts and Ideas to yourself," I crossed my arms.

"Come on, you lent her your coat! Literally every other time a woman got close you'd yell at them and you stared at her the whole time." I choked on my spit, "And if I noticed that mean she,"

I cut him of by lean on the table and pointing to him, "Shut your mouth."

He leaned back, putting his hands up, "Alright, if you say so, It just seems to me your," a smile crept across his face, "Lovesick."

I was going to strangle Kakyoin till (Y/n) came back, "Hey sorry that took so long, who knew on a nice almost summer day a cafe would be packed!" I relaxed subconsciously turning back to her. Kakyoin just couldn't help but smile, his friend was finally falling in love. He was going to tease him to no end.

-------------------------------------------

School quickly wrapped up its last month and I couldn't be happier. I headed outside, the sun just peaking over the water. I climbed up over a little hill and to my second favorite place in the world. It looked over the water. But my favorite part was a long while ago I had attached a swing to a weeping willow that overlooked a small cliff. I sat down on the makeshift bench swing, pushing off the ground. I swung my legs as I watched the sun rise and paint the sky oranges and yellows. I heard some rustling from the bushes behind me. I stopped the swing and turned to see what was there.

There was the last person I expected, "Oh, hey there Jotaro."

He looked just as surprised to see me, looking me up and down, "Good morning." I scotting over on the bench and patted next to me. He slowly sat down. I grabbed the rope and swung my legs not enough to move the swing. I looked from him to the sky, the way the sun reflected in his eyes perfectly mirrored the ocean. It was like his own personally sunrise. Then his eyes caught mine, I jumped. He looked at me questionaly as I scooted away.

"I don't mind you being close," He said slowly.

"Oh," I said, my blush darken. Bit by bit, slowly I scooted closer. One last time I looked up to him before I took a deep breath and leaned my head on his shoulder.

--------------------------------------

I looked down to (Y/n); her eyes glued to the sunrise. I slowly put my arm around her lower torso and pulled her a bit closer. I let my head fall on top of hers. I couldn't help but watch as the ocean breeze played with her hair. I had always wondered who had put up this swing. Guess I found my cuplirt. Birds flew over the ocean everything seemed like a dream  but at the same time so real. I can't even remember the last time I was this relaxed. After the sun had risen over the sea she finally broke our quiet.

"Hey you wanta come over for breakfast?" She looked up to me; her eyes seemed to swirl but, I knew it was just a trick of the light.

"Sure," I nodded. She stood up stretching.

"Were gonna go the long way because I'm gonna guess you don't like climbing," She turned to me pausing.

I stood up to follow to her, "You guessed correctly."

-----------------------------------------

We were doing another one of our late night walks, when just the stars shown. Jotaros hand held mine as my other pointed to all the constellations.  "How do you know every little constellation?" He asked.

"I've always felt drawn to the beach, ocean and sky," I smiled remembering my pokemon and what they represented.

"Your so perquilar," He chuckled.

"And you aren't?" I restored. He smiled back. Then I saw a spark in his eyes, "What are you," Suddenly he picked me and slung me over his shoulder spinning,  "Hey!" I laughed.

"Come on now it's getting late," He kept me slung over his shoulder. The rhythm of his walk was like an unheard lullaby. I could feel my eyes shutting. I slowly moved off his shoulders and just into his arms, I curled into a ball and rested my head on his chest finally letting sleep take over.

--------------------------------------

I opened the door to my bedroom using star platinum. I set her down and tucked her in. I walked over to my closet hanging up my hat and jacket. I turned to her again. (Y/n)'s chest rose and fell steadily. I walked over to the other side of the bed, slowly getting in, not wanting to wake her. I brought her closer. Her arms seemly automatically wrapping around my body. I smiled as ran my fingers through her hair, sometimes catching in knots that soon came out.  Her legs mixed with my mine under these sheets.

The moon light from my window hit her just right. I drowned in the shade and shine on her face. The way the moon sculpted her face made it seem like there was nothing less than a goddess lying to me. I let my hand trace her check. "You are the best thing to happen to me," I made a quiet prayer. I kissed her forehead. Two words slipped from my lips, "Love you."

------------------------------------

I was humming to whatever song was on the radio when I heard a knock. I set down the slice of bread and butter knife and heading over to the door. When I opened it there was Jotaro which was no longer a surprise. "Good afternoon Jotaro!" I smiled stepping aside letting him in. I went back over to my pb&j.

Jotaro came in and sat across from me, "Hey Kakyoin invited me to head up to his cabin up north for a week but he's bringing his girlfriend and I don't want to be stuck alone so would you like to come?"

I cut my sandwich in half, "Sure! I'd love to! When is it?" I asked taking a bite.

He looked at the clock on the wall, "We leave in two hours."

I jumped, "Jojo! You've got to tell me these things beforehand!"

He chuckled at my panic, "Sure, you pack and I'll do your chores."

"I need to do the dishes, I know you were joking but," I started to say until he cut me off.

"Go pack your stuff I'll do the dishes," He walked over to the dishwasher opening it. I ran up the stairs, skipping over every other step. I ran around the house throwing stuff into a bag. I paused, looking over to the four pokeballs on that royal looking pillow. I hesitated, trying to decide if I should take them with me or not. I grabbed Kyogre and throw them into my bag. I quickly zipped it closed running down stairs.

"Alright!" I jumped off the last step, "Let's do this!" I cheered. Jotaro smiled taking my hand in his.

-----------------------------------

The cabin was right on a beach. I had woken up to sound of someone singing, I peaked out. There was (Y/n). The gentle breeze of the cool night air grazed her face and hair. I sat next to her. "Hello there."

She paused, "Sorry did I wake you?"

"No, I like your voice but, what are you doing up?" I pulled her onto my lap, resting my head on top of hers.

"I can't help but try to shake the feeling that something is very wrong. Something bad is about to happen but I don't want to worry you," She rested her head in the crook of my neck.

I traced my finger down her arm, "What do you think is gonna happen?"

"Someone is coming back and I think they're planning something, I think," She curled into a ball, her knees to her chest, her back to me. I wrapped my arms around her legs giving her a squeeze.

She hesitated for something, "What is it?" I asked.

"Jojo can you," Her eyebrows furrowed, "Can you make me a promise?"

I turned her to me, putting her hands on my face, "Anything."

Her eyes avoided mine, "If the world was ending you'd come over right? Would you love me for the hell of it?"

"Even if the strongest storm roared through, I'd hold you." I placed the softest kiss on her lips. My hands traveled to her hips and pulled her closer as she ran her hands through my hair.

I pulled away and watched as a single tear ran down her face, Her eyes scanned over my face, "I'm so scared. I don't want to lose you."

"Don't worry you won't."

-------------------------------------

I paced my room waiting for my phone to ring. Then It finally did, I picked it up, "Brendan?" I asked.

"(Y/n), were getting overwhelmed, team magma and aqua are," He was just as panicked as I.

"I'll be there in an hour," I rushed out the door. "Rayquaza!" I yelled tossing out the pokemon and hopping on its back rushing to hoenn. We rushed through the clouds. The strong winds rushed and the iciness stabbed at my face. When I broke through in Hoenn it was already a disaster. Then the most terrifying thing I saw, a replica of Kyogre and Groudon. My breath caught in my chest. I swirled around the war zone.

"Maxie! Archie!" I called out. The titans stopped their tracks. The men looked up to me. "Stop this! Your causing chaos!" I landed calling out Regigigas.

"No were only bringing goodness to this world! Were expanding! The people need more room!" Maxie called out.

"Like you ever here to know what they want!" Archie yelled.

"I know they don't want chaos!" I yelled back. This was getting out of hand. Then the real battle started, I was unbeatable though. That was until their false Groudon summoned a earthquake

Rayquaza picked me up sling me over onto its back then rayquaza was hit by their kyogre. I got knocked off, sent tumbling to the ground, my mind flashed. Jotaros smile, his hands all the little things. I screamed my last thought, "Jotaro!" Then I hit something hard.

--------------------------------

(Y/n) had been missing for three days. No contact, no late night walks, no watching sunrise over the crashing waves on out surf boards and no phone calls. I was heading towards her house. Her parents had met me tons of times so It shouldn't have been a problem. I arrived at her door and knocked.

A soft, "Come in," sounded.

I gently opened the door and looked in, the first thing I noticed was, there was no music playing. Her parents sat at the table, (Y/n)'s father's face was covered by the newspaper. Her mother sat there staring at her coffee an untouched pile of pancakes sat in the middle of the table.

The realization hit me like a trainwreck, It the only voice I could must I whispered, "What happened to (Y/n)?" I stood frozen in the doorway as her mother started to cry.

Her father quietly folded up the newspaper, when her father spoke it broke everything. "There was a attack in hoenn. Where she reigns pokemon champion. Of course she risked everything a defend her people. She fell off her pokemon, plummeting 40 feet in the air till she another one of her pokemon. She slipped in a coma. We don't know if she'll return."

I stood there for what seemed like eternity before I looked back up at them. "Would you like anything? Maybe some tea?"

Her mom turned and smile at me, "That would be lovely if you'd stay for tea Jotaro."

-------------------------------------

I walked into the hospital. It was so white and clean. It felt like a prison. My shoes fell against the title. Kakyoin put his hand on my shoulder, "Back in a hospital huh?" I could only give him a glance.

I walked up to the front counter, "I've come to see, (Y/n) (L/n)."

The lady tapped on her clacky keyboard, "Name?"

"Jotaro Kujo," I said tapping my foot.

The lady paused, "As she fell she screamed a name, the name was Jotaro. I'm guessing you guys were close?"

My fist closed as trembled. I pressed crest moons into my palm. I left a warm liquid drip out. Kakyoin patted my back, "She'll make it, if I did. She can." He took over for me, I stepped outside. I pulled out a cigarette, shakily pulling it up to my lips and lighting it. I was her last thought. What memory did she think of before she hit? I gripped the cigarette a little too hard causing it to rip in half. A tear rolled down my check. What did I do to make her think of me last?

Kakyoin broke my stream of thoughts, "Jotaro you can go up now, I'll let you have your time alone."

I walked back into the hospital. There was a nurse there, "You must be Jotaro, I'll lead you up to her room." I followed the lady up the elevator. "So," She tucked  a strand of her hair behind her ear, "If your not doing anything after this, my shift end soon-"

I growled, "I'm not going to visit (Y/n) for shits and giggles, she's my girlfriend."

"O-oh," she stuttered, fiddling with her pen. The doors open and she quickly shuffled into a room.

I glanced at the room number taking note then I breathed in. I slowly opened the door. I walked in. A heart rate monitor beeped in the background. The sunlight gave her a harsh glow unlike the ones when she was highlighted by the beach. My nose scrunched up. I saw a lone chair in the corner of the room. I grabbed it dragging it bed side. I could her her slow breath in quiet abyss. I slowly picked up one of her hands, putting it to my lips. I then rested my head on the back of her hand.

I started crying, "Oh (Y/n), why'd you think of me in your last moments? What ever did I do to deserve that spot in your heart?" She contrasted with this stupid hospital room too much. The sharp corners jabbing at me unlike her curved jawline and her soft features. I couldn't help but cry harder. A short prayer to any god that would listen. "Just please return her to me, please to anyone whos listening."

I sat there for hours just holding her, then the room slowly started to get dim. I realized that the sun was setting. I got up, placing one last kiss on her forehead. I put the chair back, trying to leave the room but, it was like something called me back. I stopped in the doorway, looking at her. My chest tighten. I finally tore myself away, not being able to look at that sickly white room.

-----------------------------------

It had been two months since I visited (Y/n) in that hospital room. I just couldn't really bring myself to go back. Instead almost everyday I had tea with her parents, either at a cafe, their home or mine. They had told me all of the little things I never knew about her. Some were bigger than others. For example how she was the champion of hoenn and has three legendary pokemon? But then they showed me her workroom. There was serval blueprints for double rider saddles. She had so many plans but so little time.

On the other hand, Her parents, Jiji, my mom, Kakyoin and I sat at a cafe on a sunday morning. (Y/n)'s dad had gone off on another story of (Y/n)'s journey through hoenn.

"(Y/n) always had such a fiery spirit that made her uncontrollable as a child, running around. Always eager to step out on the road," Her father laughed.

"She rode all the way to hoenn in the back of the moving truck and didn't bugde on moving up front," Her mom stretched out the world 'all' and held onto it for a second or two, smiling at a memory.

I hummed at the thought of her being so stubborn. Which was familiar to me, she would never back down from a dare, always going above and beyond. I turned to look out the front window, watching people pass by. Then there was a thud of hooves? I raised an eyebrow at the sound. People on the street jumped out of the way as a giant horse thundered through the street. Then I met eyes with the rider. I jumped out of my seat pushing out of the cafe as she pulled on the reigns causing the animal the stop and stand on its hind legs. Once the animal landed back on the ground I pulled the rider bringing her into the tightest I could.

"(Y/n)," was all I could muster.

"Jotaro!" She squeezed back hard. Maybe she was trying to make sure this was real. I wanted to stop time and relish in this moment but I stopped the urge. I just sat there basking in her touch.

Then there was another stomping of hooves. "(Y/n)! I can't believe I had to chase you back to here! Now come on I have outfits for you to try!"

"Serena! I am not your doll! And I'm busy!" (Y/n) said glaring at the other who got off a huge deer.

"Okay yeah off, come on the champions meeting is too soon and you have nothing to wear!" She approached. "And I didn't even get a thank you for saving you!"

"Yeah yeah later," (Y/n) her eyes and held me somehow tighter.

"Come on now you fuss! We've got places to be and dresses to try on!" She tried to separate us.

I then grabbed (Y/n)'s face pulling it in for kiss, I then turned to the other girl saying, "She said she was busy."

(Y/n) frozen in her spot and the other stood there with the biggest smile on her face. I only then realized I had made a mistake when she said, "Well, I guess I have to make two outfits for the champions meeting!"
