Beelzebub x reader
Requested by @the_yeeyee_man Dawg i am so sorry this sat in my google drive for like 3 months.
I sat at my computer tapping away. This investigation was taking longer than it was supposed to. For a living I look into args/weird things on the internet and code break. See, a couple years ago a youtube channel popped up called 'Jack Torrance' nothing out of the ordinary in my field really. Creepy video, distortion some code breaking blah blah. Nothing really too interesting. Then a live stream popped up a day or two ago called Help me, and in the description there were calls for help so it immediately got interesting again. I started to interact with the owner of the channel, and recently they were taunting me to go to texas, in which I agreed.
But, something in the back of my mind was stopping me. Usually this didn't happen. Well two things usually don't happen, A. I become a part of the arg and B. something tells me not to do something. My field is pretty safe, I run a youtube channel to discuss these types of things. Something was telling me that this was real this time, It wasn't an arg. But, I continued on and I was looking for a place to stay in Texas. I was up late talking with my subscribers on discord trying to figure things out. I didn't tell them about my off feeling though because It again, is probably nothing.
The screen glared back in my face, I glanced over at my clock, 3:47 am. I sighed, logging off for the night when someone directly dm'd me. I read it over. It was from a fan saying they lived in texas and could house me for a week or two. I smiled and replied accepting their offer. We discussed dates and It turns out I'd head down next week. I smiled and turned off my computer, shutting the lid and getting up out the chair. I stretched, my tank top riding up a tad bit. I stumbled over to my bed in the dark, stubbing my toe on the way. "Ow," I whispered, falling face first onto my bed. Sleep overtook me maybe too quickly.
---------------------------
I groaned, hitting my head on my desk. Does this girl ever stop? I'm trying to send her subtle hints but nooooooo she's just too stubborn.
I rest my head on my hand, "I just have no idea what to do with this girl?" I slam my hands down on my desk, "Why am I even protecting this ssstupid human? What's matter to me?" I groan I just can't keep my grip today. I drum my fingers on the table, why do I even keep fidgeting? Who cares if she accidentally curses herself, why is it my problem? I massage my temple.
I hear my office door open and close, "Who isss it?" I ask. The footsteps suggested they were light on their feet and at a bit of a saunter, oh good, its crowley. "Good afternoon Crowley," I say scarcastlicy.
"Good afternoon Bee, how are you?" He rested his elbow on my desk then his head in his hand.
"Shut up," I rolled my eyes, leaning back.
"So, what do you think of that little arg community, wonderful isn't it?" He said standing back upright, crossing his arms.
"Sssure, sssure, I couldn't really care for it myself," I waved him away, lying.
"There's this demon inhabiting a human body, jack torrance, you know that guy? Yeah he runs an arg and he got some chick involved and she's tracking him down, not super bright," he dryly laughed.
"Leave me alone and go back to your little angel boyfriend or whatever," I said dismissing him. My mind raced, this was gonna go terribly fast for (Y/n). Jack is a highly possessive spirit.
"Awwe, ok will do!" He saluted and cheeky smile on his lips. That was never good but, nothing I could do about it now.
--------------------------------
I packed my bag, throwing clothes in my suitcase while music played through my record player, Hoziers, Wasteland, Baby! Album playing. I started to hum and move to the beat of the music, tapping my foot. I started to sway to it too, and before I knew it I was dancing all around my apartment. I stopped before I got too distracted and missed my flight, I mean it was tempting to keep dancing but this case was pretty important. I finished packing and zipped it up and headed out. I locked my door behind and turned on my music heading down the elevator. It dinged as I strolled out. I waved by to the landlord and continued on. I threw my suitcase in the back of my jeep and hopped in. I started my engine and started down the streets onto the highway. I had music going again when it started to fizz and crackle. I raised an eyebrow. I flipped the station, still static. I sighed and went to turn it off when a voice came through. I jumped.
"Don't goooo," The voice cracked.
"Huh," I said, "Well I already arranged all the stuff and spent all this money so it's already too late Mr. Demon," I laughed, "As if."
"Your so stupidddd," It murmured.
I busted out laughing, I actually had to pull over because I was laughing so hard. "Holy crap," I wheezed out, "This can't be real."
"Unbelievable," the voice sighed, the static stopped.
I stopped laughing after a couple of minutes, and got back on the road. When I got to the airport I had about an hour left of time to relax before boarding. So I decided to work and check in with those people. We had a light conversation before my row was called and I said goodbye and hopped over to the line. I couldn't wait to do this investigation.
---------------------------------
"Why is she so stupid? The normal reaction to hearing a creepy voice is wow this voice is creepy maybe I should head its warning! But nooo, and she has to be dealing with a powerful demon too!" I twirled my wrists in circles. "Humans are so stupid." I got up, I needed a stretch. "She is messing with fire, hell fire."
I walked through hell, my feet echoing in the office halls where no one really worked. An industrial blow of steam blew out of a hole in a pipe. A drip of water on my shoulder. My eyes scanned the hallways. Something was off. I stopped, footsteps kept coming. "You don't know how to stalk someone well!" I shouted out.
The footsteps stopped and no response. If this was Gaberil again he would have come out of his hiding spot. This was a threat; something I was used to but, It hadn't happened in a long time.
"Come out! I know you're there!" A drop of water splashed in a puddle. Then it rushed at me. It pinned me to the ground. I recognized its deer-like face and mouth full of sharp teeth. A drip of saliva fell right next to my face, I cringed in disgust. "Good evening Jack," I looked back at him, "You know this is against the law down here, you can't attack the higher ups."
"Oh are you scared your position is going to fall, Lord beelzebub," He taunted.
I tried to push him off, he wouldn't move. This wasn't just a taunt, this was a direct threat. "Off you dog," I snarled.
"I am not a dog, I have followers again," He spoke.
"So what? What will a couple thousand people do you? You are weak," I gave a rough punch. He finally slightly budged.
"And your starting to lose your, I have a host, and what have you done for the past a hundred years? Couped up in an office, you little fly. I could just crush you in my fingers, so cute." I was sick of this game. I let my body turn into flies. Flying a couple feet away.
"Why are you so mad?" He asked crawling towards me, "Is it that little investigated girl? Little Ms. Sherlock?" If I had a breath, It would be caught in my throat. He got right up in my face, standing on his hind legs, "My game starts tonight. What will you do about it?"
"It's none of my business," I lied. She didn't deserve to get hurt. She didn't deserve to be some pawn in a demons flawed power move. "She means nothing to me," I hurt to say that. It hurt all over.
"Huh, then keep your nose out of it," He turned his back to me and left.
Once he was out of view. I regained my form, collapsing to the side of the hallway. I started to do something I would have never thought I'd do. I cried. I cried over a human life. Something in me told me to protect her. What was this feeling. I think there's only one place I can go for the answer, and I'm not gonna like it.
----------------------------
I landed in Texas, and checked my phone. The people I was staying with texted me that they were here. They helped my lug all my suitcases and camera equipment in the back of their car. We talked the whole way to their house. They were super excited to be part of the investigation. We had made it to their house in which I insisted I pay for dinner as a thank you which they let me do. We had a glass of wine and talked for an hour before heading to bed. They had a spare bedroom I could use. I got ready for bed then I checked my email. Of course there were a couple I had to answer.
But one stood out, one from the jack torrance youtube channel itself. I quickly opened it. In it was a photo of a gazebo, burrly but still recognizable. I hadn't even told anyone I was in Texas yet. Either this was just pure conquince or something supernatural. Wait, why'd I have that thought? This is just an arg right? Yeah It can't be, I nervously laughed to myself.
I quickly sent a screenshot of the gazebo to the discord and quickly reported my findings and told people my plan. The plan was I was gonna stay here for a week and go to all the places in the videos but, like out in the open? Jesus this was getting intense. But, the discord quickly exploded, people were trying to find the location. I tried to tune in on with my ideas when needed. Little did I know, this nightmare was just starting.
--------------------------------
I nervously knocked on the bookstore door. Fidgeting right outside. A voice called out, "Don't need to knock! Just come in!"
I gently creaked open the door and stuck my head in, my body slowly following after. There was Aziraphale, putting a book back in place. "H-hi," I nervously waved.
He finally turned to face me, "Oh! Beelzebub! I didn't expect to see you!" He gave a light laugh. "So what brings you in?" I started to tap my fingers together, where do I start? How do I explain it? I don't even know what's going on! "Is something troubling you?" He asked coming closer.
I opened my mouth to try and say something, but closed it again. Everything was so overwhelming. Why'd this happen to me? "I uhhh," I tried to sort my thoughts.
"Why don't you relax over some tea first?" He smiled, leading me towards the back of the store. I followed him. "So what brings you in?" The tea kettle goes off.
"I think I'm sick?" I wonder.
He turns to look at me, an eyebrow raised, "Sick?"
I sigh, sitting down, "I don't know. Just, I was attacked when I got out of my office and he said he was gonna hurt this human. And I just told him to buzz off but he sounded so sincere so I'm really worried for her safety. So I sat there for a minute and uhh, uhh," I trailed off.
"And?" He took a sip of his tea that was already cool enough to drink.
"And, and, I cried. She doesn't desvere to be some pawn in this stupid demons power play! It's not fair to her! She's done nothing!" I slammed my fists on the table my eyes threatening to spill again. "I want to protect her. That's why I think i'm sick, usually i let demons do whatever they want but, but, she's just different. I don't know what's happening to me." I slumped, pushing back the tears.
He scooted closer, rubbing my back, "Well, I think your in love,"
He was going to say something else, but I cut him off, quickly lifting my head up, "In love? But I'm a demon that's absurd!"
"You're talking to an angel Beelzebub," He pointed out, I opened my mouth to relitate but he continued, "This also means I can try to help protect her if she means," Everything started to fade. The demon had made its first move on her. "Beelzebub?" Aziraphale called, concerned.
I jumped up, "I'm sorry, I've got to go." I ran. I'm going to make sure she doesn't die, even If I have to risk my life for it.
-------------------------------
It was the second drop and we had been to all the locations 2 days ago. At one of the places there was a mark of the freemasons, a supposed demon cult. Today we picked up a gift bag. When we got back to the house, we set up the camera and started to open it. I kept taking out paper after paper that had 'I'm sorry' written on them. There were also a couple black cats and a record. We cut the cameras and reported it to discord. Then we discussed what to do next. We decided to get a record player to of course play the record. We were excited to hear the songs on this record. I bought it for them then we ordered dinner as we listened to the songs. All of them were melancholy.
The discord had decided the gift bag was to mock the birthday of the channel because the anniversary was coming up and all the black cats were also to mock my little persona. It seemed that I was now really really apart of the arg. I was basically wading through it at this point.
We soon went to bed, exhausted from today, I immediately fell asleep. My eyes to a dark forest and a howl from behind me. So I took off. Trying to find an exit. I could hear the crunching of twigs behind me. Whatever was behind me was huge. I was going to die here. My breathing was all over the place. I couldn't keep going. Then something burned in my back. Then a graveyard.
I sat up panting, I wildly looked around. I put my hand over my heart. "It was just a dream." I said to myself. It took me a minute or two but I finally got up. I needed a shower, I was sweaty. "It felt so real though," I whispered to myself, I took off my shirt. Then something caught my eye in the mirror. A huge black symbol. My eyes widened. Was that dream real? I looked at my hands, curling then uncurling. God, this couldn't have been real. I Took a photo of it, posting it to the discord. I wanted to know what it ment. I tried to brush it off and got in the shower.
Once I got out, I saw that the discord was on fire. It was the mark of beelzebub. What? What the hell does that mean? A protection mark? But why? I wasn't doing anything dangerous. Was this arg fake? I stopped myself, no I needed to stop myself. I laughed. I headed out with the team to collect our final drop.
We headed out to the graveyard. We got there. I recognized it. From my dream. This was starting to get creepy. But, I didn't say anything. I didn't want to worry these nice people who were letting me stay at their house, for free. We just pushed on and looked for the grave, which the headstone had the mark of a freemasons on it.
When we got home there was a new video posted. A call for a sacrifice. It asked viewers to send mail to a center letter box. People on the discord were nervous to send letters but I did give the green light, albeit, be careful and cautious. We continued to post the footage and updates as we went along for the night. This would be the last night in Texas. I would head out in the morning. Sleep did not come easy tonight, and It didn't stay for long either.
I stood over a dark abyss. I staggered backwards. I wasn't falling. I searched around, trying to find out, or any walks of life. Finding none I did the only thing I could and walked. Where to, I didn't care. I felt like I wasn't supposed to be here. I kept glancing at my peripheral vision; swearing I could see movement. There was nothing there, so I picked up the place, going at a jog, then a sprint. There was nothing here, no way out. I just kept running, this had to end. Then I fell off, falling towards a huge gangly hand that seemed to rise out of the black.
I shot up, panting and sweating. I snapped to the bedside clock, 1:41 am. Great. 4 hours of sleep, and no way in hell was I going back to sleep. So I laid back down and stared at the ceiling. For what seemed like hours, I stared there following imaginary lines. My eyes glanced at the clock, 1:46. I finally sighed giving in and looking at my phone. At least I could try and distract myself for the next couple of hours.
-----------------------------------
"Jack!" I called into the hall. This needs to end now. "I know you're here, come out! You don't scare me!"
"Awwe somebody's little lady friend getting hurt," I heard nails scratch against the cement walls, "You know what they say curiosity killed the cat, and your little human friend seems like a cat to me." I could feel his smugness under my skin, it crawled up my spine.
"This is nothing but a joke at a power grab," I taunted back, "You are nothing but a joke."
"Like you have any room to talk?" He questioned, skipping in the vents above my head. "Mr, I talk with angels too often." Then he leaned down over me, face-to-face, "And one more thing, who was leading the rebellion? That's right, you. You are the reason why the rebellion failed. You are nothing but a pathetic excuse for a leader."
I punched him square in the face, he jumped back, hissing in pain. "This is truly pathetic," I cracked my knuckles, "You really don't understand it do you, if you overthrow me here, there will be nothing but chaos, no one will listen to you. You are a no body."
He stood up, whipping the blood off his nose, "Isn't that what your preached, chaos? Your going against your own word."
"No we preaches for freedom," I walked over his body on the ground, "You truly know nothing." I shook my head walking away.
That demon made a promise to himself, "I will make her fall, and it will all be his fault." He lumbered back into the darkness, he may have lost this battle but, he hadn't lost the war.
——————————
It had been a couple weeks since Texas. There was one last piece of the puzzle. The people who had sent letters got little knick knacks back and instructions for a summoning. A now they were cursed. This curse was my fault and I was gonna fix it. I answered it's call. I was heading out in my pickup truck; heading to a place on a trail in the woods. It was a half an hour before sunrise. I have to do this now, to save them and myself. To end this mess. I looked to the letter, the hard drive and the 13 cats in the seat next to me. I swallowed hard, eyes gliding back to the road.
This was so confusing. I ran a hand through my hair, knotting it further. I came to the little trail. I stopped my car, hearing the familiar thud of the changing gears. I leaned my head on the steering wheel, stretching out my hands in front of me on my dash. I curled my hands into fists. Taking a deep breath, I took the keys out of the ignition and stepped out.
The cool autumn air brushing past my cheeks. The leaves seemed to echo under my footsteps. Dawn just started to peek at the horizon. The sky being painting in too many hues. I set up the stupid little cats. I sat and watched the sunrise for a couple seconds, I scratched the space in between my eyebrows; grabbing my camera.
I set up the camera like it was a normal video, but this video was bound to be anything but normal. I turned on the camera, introducing myself to it. I could only let out a dry laugh as I looked back to the red and orange sky that looked too perfect for this so un-perfect moment. I started to say the, what even is the un-doing of a cursed called? A cure? Hell am I to be saying that.
Then I heard something in the woods rustle behind me. I paused, standing up and looking around. Then out of the woods it came charging at me. It was jack torrance himself. I let out a scream as another being tackled it. I grabbed the camera and ran. Twigs breaking under the pressure of my adrenaline rush. I saw my car, I hopped in. I hastily put on my seat belt and jammed the key into the ignition; turning it hard to the left. I forced my car into drive and hit the gas. My breathing begging to settle. My knuckles turned white as I gripped the wheel. Everything else seemed to tune out in the moment.
"What the hell did I just go through?" I smacked the steering wheel, "What do I mean 'just'? I'm still going through it!" I flipped the sun visor down, "Jesus Christ!"
"Are you that much of a idiot?! What in the hell were you thinking? A summoning ritual? I didn't know humans can be that dumb!" A voice came from beside me.
I yelped, severing right into the other lane. There was a person there, short and a huge fly on their head, and in a black like old war uniform. "Why in the fuck would you do that? And how the hell are you In my car? I don't recall letting any person in my car!"
"Too bad! I'm the one who just saved you anyways!" The person threw their hands up from their crossed arms.
I just let out another scream, "I don't even know what's going on anymore!"
"I'll explain it if you just keep driving!" They flung their arm out forward.
"Yeah just let me," I pulled over we were about 30 miles from the trail. I put my hands over my face, finally trying to relax, that's when I just starting crying.
"Hey I said keep drivin- oh um your crying..." the person trailed off.
I threw my hands into the air, "Yeah! That's for noticing asshole! I'm just so," I paused looking around.
"Overwhelmed?" The person asked.
I sighed, "yeah, like what even is my life now."
"That's how a lot of people react when they first reach contact with demons, if you didn't act like this I'd be a little nervous," They dryly tried to joke. I restarted the car and kept driving. The car ride was quiet for a while.
That is until I finally spoke up, "So, were gonna be in this car for like another 45 minutes so can I get a name?"
"Beelzubub." It was a curt answer but still an answer.
"Damn, my luck huh," I tapped the steering wheel as my left arm hung out the window. The sky now a clear blue.
