Ken's POV
"Ken, remember what you said when we first met?" Yumi asked as she offered me an octopus-shaped sausage from her bento. I opened my mouth and chomped it well.
"What did I say?"
"You told me to try becoming a model?" She put her chopstick down on her bento and gazed at the sky.
"Oh, that....yeah?"
"I've been thinking about that recently...."
"Are you still bothered by what I said?? Sorry...." It was foolish of me to have said something like that when I knew nothing about her.
"Nonono!! I'm not!!" She waved her hands around denying. This girl...who knew she's this cute. "It's just that....I've been deciding whether to become one, recently." I decided to say nothing, I wanted to let her continue. "What you said back then was right...It would be a waste to not use my height as an advantage." She drew her knees closer to her. "I-I want to change, Ken."
When she said those words, I had a feeling that she would change into someone I wasn't familiar with anymore. But I compressed those feelings, I wanted to cheer Yumi in whatever she's doing.
"So, I decided!! I'm going to become a model!!" She straightened the creases from her skirt as she stood up. "My parents keep telling me to become one too... if I refuse any longer, they might get angry with me."
"Are you sure, this is what you want to do?" I asked out of concern.
"Of course, don't worry! I could even get popular," she giggled, "but of course I should try hard to reach that level. What do you think about this, Ken?"
I smiled, "I'll support you in whatever you do."
"That's why I love youu~!" She kneed down and pulled me into a hug, then she backs away to give me a small peck on the lips. I returned one to her and smiled at thought of how happy I am to be with her.

It was Saturday, I decided to pass the time by reading a book. I took a book that I just recently borrowed from the library out from my bag, I was so into reading the book that I lost track of time. Just then my cell phone beeped, as I got a message. I looked at who sent me the message, it was Yumi.
From: Yumi
Subject: I have good news!!\(≧▽≦)/
You won't believe what just happened!! I can't wait to tell you!!! Let's meet up~ ❤ !!
-end-
Yumi? I wondered what happened? I quickly changed my clothes and prepared to go outside. I met up Yumi at a cafe. When I got to the cafe, Yumi was already there.
"What's going on?" I asked her curiously.
"Hehe....Ken, you won't believe what I'm about to tell you!! I got accepted into a modeling agency!! .......Even though it's my parents', they weren't the ones judging, so it was fair."
"Really?? Congrats!! I knew you would be able to make it."
"Yeah!! They said I had to start next week and I have to go through an image change!"
"Image change?"
She nodded rapidly with sparkles in her eyes, "I can't wait!!"
"Then we should celebrate this! Wanna go to the karaoke?"
"Let's go!!"
We sang songs until we were worn out, I secretly ordered a small cake from the cafe earlier, without Yumi noticing, to celebrate Yumi becoming a model.
"Yumi, I have to use the toilet real quick, I'll be right back," I had no choice but to lie.
"Oh okay, be back fast okay?" I nodded and left the room, I asked the staff to bring me the cake that I requested to be stored in the fridge. Since I didn't want the cake to melt and wanted Yumi to be surprised. I took the cake and went back inside the room Yumi was in. As I brought the cake into the room, Yumi's face beamed with excitement.
"Congratulation on becoming a model, Yumi," I grinned.
"K-Ken......you didn't have to do this..." I could see Yumi's eyes getting teary from being overly emotional.
"Then should I take this back?" I teased.
"No! It's for me isn't it?" She pouted. I placed the cake on the table and patted her head. I sliced the cake into four equal parts and gave her a piece as I took one for myself. "I thought the whole cake is for me?"
"Now, Yumi. You shouldn't be greedy! Now that you're becoming a model, you should control your diet!!"
"It's okay!! I don't get fat easily!!"
"If that's what you want, then sure." After a while, we were done with the cake. Since it was small, we were able to finish it quick. We sang a few more songs afterward, talked some more, and teased each other until our time in the karaoke room was up. We left the karaoke and we walked our way back home together, but it was me escorting Yumi to her home. We had a chat on our way as we walk, holding hands.
"Ken, thanks for the cake earlier," Yumi smiled.
"I'm glad you liked the cake."
"Of course, I did. It's my favorite, vanilla cake after all!" I put my arm around Yumi's shoulder and pulled her closer to my side. "....Ken?" I had a feeling, deep down inside, that I would get lonely. But I thought, as long as Yumi's happy, I am too. I look up at the sky; the stars were out. It was very beautiful.
"Yumi, look up," I said as I continued gazing the stars.
"Wow, they stars.....they're beautiful," Yumi said as she gasped at the sight of the stars. I stared at her. 'You're prettier though...' I thought. "This is just a start for me, I've got to work harder so I can become well-known and be popular!!"
"Yeah...."
>>>>>>>>>>>
Next week, Yumi didn't come to school. She's probably going through image change now her modeling career starts today. I wonder how she'll look after her image change. I'm sure she'll look good with anything. A few days past and she still hasn't come to school yet. The school has become boring, now that she's not here.
"Ken, let's go back home together! You've been really dull lately, it's not like you!!" Ryouta wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "Is it because your girlfriend's not here? Cheer up man!"
"Don't hug me Ryouta!" I said as I tried to pull his arm away from my shoulders.
"Stop being so cold!! Shou's coming, you know how rare that is right?" Ryouta turned to Shou, he nodded. That really is rare, Shou usually doesn't come to our hangouts.
"Geez, I will, I will."
When we went out the school gates, someone stopped us. "K-Ken?" It sounded very familiar, she was wearing a light blue hoodie with black jeans, she had the hood on and sunglasses.
"Umm... who might you be?" I asked, sounding as polite as I can.
"What's this Ken? You've got another girl?" Ryouta tugged me.
"Shut up," I said annoyingly.
"I want to borrow you for a while....come with me," she said and walked away. I looked at Ryouta and Shou, asking them what I should do. They shook their heads and crossed their hands forming an 'X'
"I can't just unknowingly follow someone suspicious," I said.
"Oh man, I give up," She took off her hood and her sunglasses. It was Yumi?! I inspected Yumi face carefully. Her hair was shorter and had waves. She had some makeup on, her lips were bright red and there was a short black line above her eyes. Her eyelids were pink, so were her cheeks. "S-Stop staring so much....."
"A-Ah....s-s-sorry," I said as I rubbed my hair nervously.
"H-How do I look..?"
"Short hair s-suits you too....I think you look much prettier without makeup though..."
"O-Oh...r-really?" I saw her cheeks reddened more.
"But, you look really pretty now too.." Our conversation right now sounds like the ones we used to have when we started dating and when we confessed.
"T-Thanks..." she mumbles and played with her fingers.
"Ahem!!" Ryouta and Shou interrupted making us come back to the reality.
"I'm actually on the way to another studio, so I asked the driver to stop by here since I wanted to see you."
"I was just thinking how much I wanted to see you too."
"Ryou.... I think you made it worse....." Shou said in his usual lazy voice,
Ryouta sighed. "It seems like it." Both Yumi and I ignored what they said.
"Ah! Right! Here take this." Yumi took a boxed milk out of the pocket from her hoodie and hand it to me. I was confused why she would give me this but I took it anyways. "Drink this and hurry up and reach my height~!"
"Huh??!" I shouted. I'm not even that short compared to her, maybe only like 2 inches or so.
"I better get going now, byeee~" She waved us goodbye and went inside a white van that was parked nearby.
"Don't you worry, I'll be taller than you.....someday!!!" I yelled after her. The white van started the engine and strolled pass us.
"Yumi-chan looks cute in a short haircut as well!" Ryouta said.
"H-HUH? You," I pointed him in the nose," don't call my Yumi, -chan, nor cute! You understand?"
"A-Ah....y-yes...sorry," Ryouta laughed and back away.
>>>>>>>>>>>
It's been 3 months since Yumi became a model and her popularity has been rising like crazy ever since she started. Well, that's not surprising because she has all there is to be a model. But she's been busy with her work all the time. She'd even have to skip school. And we had less and less time to see each other. The other students found out that Yumi became a model and she's been quite popular at school. The bullies who used to bully her now want to be her friends.
But I'm really happy for her. I think she should be able to do what she enjoys doing. I should just be by her side and support her like I always do.
As I went up the stairs of our school, I heard footsteps approaching me fastly, "Ah! Ken!" Yumi tackled me into a tight hug. "I missed you!"
"Yumi?! You're here! I thought you weren't coming to school because of work," I said, shocked.
"Ahah~ I thought I would surprise you," she giggled cutely.
I couldn't help but smile seeing her being happy. "I missed you, too, Yumi," I said as I stroked her hair. Then the students around us started to go into their classes. "Ah, the bell's about to ring. Let's go in. Why don't we talk later? At lunch? Usual place?"
Yumi put her hands back and averted her gaze sideways. "Actually... I have to leave after homeroom for work," she whispered.
"O-oh...is that so?" She nodded slowly. "Why did you even come here then, idiot?" I smiled as I lightly knocked on her forehead.
"I haven't seen you in a while so I missed you and I thought you also wanna see me so I came to school today," she pouted.
'Gosh....she's so cute' I thought to myself as I tried to hold back the fanboying. I let out a sigh, "Well, I'm glad that you came to see me, but don't do it again."
"Eh? Why?!"
"You should focus on your work, Yumi. Although we miss each other, we will have to restrain ourselves. Your work is important."
"But you're also important, Ken!"
"Mhm, I know. But we can see each other anytime, but you can't just recklessly do your work. And you're happy when you model right? And that also makes me happy," I grinned.
"Ken...." there was sadness in her eyes. Then she pulled her cheeks and slapped it, "Okay! I'll focus on my work! Then I'll go back to work now. It actually starts in 10 minutes but I thought I would just go later but you're right. Thank you, Ken!" She gave me one last hug and ran back outside to where a car was waiting for her. "See you later!~"
"Yeah!" I smiled as I waved at her. When she was gone, I continued my way to my classroom.
As I went into the classroom, I was greeted by sensei's cold glare, "You're late," he said sharply.
"Ah, sorry~" I grinned as I took my seat.
>>>>>>>>>>>
It has been over a week since Yumi and I haven't seen each other. She would come to school sometimes but somehow, I didn't get a chance to talk to her. So we would mostly call each other or text. We would have long talks every night about how things are going.
But lately, we don't even talk anymore. Yumi said she had a big project coming up by a really popular company and they offered her a job. Our long calls, now, only last a minute or two and she didn't really have time to reply to my messages.
We haven't even gone on dates for over a month too. It's slowly affecting our relationship...
"Seriously... if it's bothering you that much, you should tell her to give more of her time to you," Ryouta butted in my thoughts.
"Why? She's working so hard right now. I should be happy and be supportive," I said as I popped a piece of popcorn into my mouth.
"But she's your girlfriend, Ken. You guys don't even see or talk to each other anymore," Ryouta continued as he played his game.
"We do talk to each other."
"Yeah, for like a minute. And what if you don't talk to each other at all? You don't even see each other so what if she's seeing another boy?" Shou spoke as he performed his final attack.
"Noo!! I lost!!" Ryouta screamed as he pulled his hair with both hands.
"It was obvious that Shou's gonna win," I said. "And Shou, I trust her. Yumi isn't that kind of girl who would cheat on someone."
"Who knows...I'm just saying this cuz I have a bad feeling. Don't say I didn't warn you, Ken."
"Shou! I declare a rematch!!" Shou sighed as he accepted Ryouta's challenge for the 5th time.
"Ken, you're not gonna play?" Ryouta asked.
"Nah, I'm gonna go get some more chips in the fridge," I stood up.
"Oh, get me some soda!"
"Orange juice," Shou said, not averting his eyes from the TV screen.
"What do you think this place is? A shop? It's my house, you know?" I sighed as Ryouta laughed. Then I went to the kitchen to get some more food and drinks.
I wonder how Yumi's doing. I should tell her to not overwork herself... My head started to be filled with thoughts of Yumi. What if what Shou said was right? He's never the person to say anything unless he cares and usually his words are correct.
But I shouldn't doubt Yumi. Trust is the main key that's keeping us together right now.
I came back to my room to see Ryouta yelling again for another match. 'How did he even lose in just two minutes?'
Suddenly, a song started to play. It was my ringtone, I grabbed my phone to see who it was and answered it quickly.
"Yumi??" Both of the guys turned towards me and came close to listen.
"Hello, Ken~! How are you?"
"Ah, I'm fine. I should be the one who's asking you that. Are you eating properly? How about your sleep? Do you have enough sleep every day??" I questioned as I pushed the guys away.
"Yup! I do, don't worry! Oh and Ken, remember when I told you about the big project coming up?"
"Yeah? What about it?" I asked as I laid down on my bed.
"Actually, there's this guy who's my partner and we have to model together like a couple. So I'm telling you that it's nothing like that! You don't have to get jealous or misunderstand, okay??" She stuttered.
"Ohh....okay. Thanks for telling, Yumi."
"Mhm, then I have to go now, bye," she sounded tired.
"Bye," I said as I ended the call.
>>>>>>>>>>>
A few days have passed and it's just like what Shou said. We haven't talked to each other at all. The last time was when Shou and Ryouta came over to my house. 'Maybe I should go check on her. I'm worried... not about how she's working with the other model but about how she's doing. I also have to give her that anyways.'
"Ken!" I finally snapped out of my thoughts and turned to Ryouta. "Geez, are you thinking about Yumi again??"
"Sorry," I said as I swing my bag onto my shoulder. "Aren't you guys going to your clubs?"
"Yeah, we're gonna. But you're being weird so we were just lingering around," Ryouta answered.
"I'm gonna go see Yumi today."
"What?! Why??" Ryouta exclaimed as Shou glanced up from his game.
"I..I have to go check on her and--"
"Are you losing your trust?" Shou interrupted. I looked at him and his gaze was totally focused on me.
"No, it's not like that. I'm just curious on how she's doing. Plus I have to give her something," I explained, my eyes on Shou.
"Hmm," he said as he continued his game.
"Then, good luck, Ken! I'm gonna go to my club, now" Ryouta waved as he ran outside.
"I'm also gonna go now. Make sure you keep track of time. You don't have club activity today, right? Go home soon, Shou," I said as I walked to the door.
As I slide the door open, Shou said something, "Don't tell me I didn't warn you, Ken... I know I'm being annoying but I'm doing this as your friend. Make sure you don't regret your decision."
"Which decision? Me going to Yumi right now or me dating Yumi?"
Shou didn't answer. I think he didn't want to, but I won't go out until he says something. "Find that out yourself..."
I took a deep breath. "Okay, bye," I said as I stepped outside.
That conversation was strange. I never knew Shou could be this serious. But he's also being reasonable right now. 'He just worried about me.' I thought as I made my way to Yumi's workplace.
When I got there, there were lots of people, busy with their own things. I wasn't able to find Yumi though. 'Should I call her?'
"Oh, who might you be??" A tall man wearing a neon yellow jacket and pants, with a neon pink shirt inside, came up to me.
"Ah, I'm Ken. I'm looking for Yumi. Nao Yumiko," I said as I bowed.
"Do you know Yumi-chan, boy? Are you her friend perhaps?"
"Umm...I-I'm her boyfriend," I stuttered.
"Boyfriend?! I didn't know she has one...this is bad," the man mumbled the last part.
"Huh? Why?"
"No, nothing! Forget what I said! I'm Yumi-chan's stylist. She's in the last room down the hall to the left," he smiled and scurried off.
He sure was a strange fellow... I walked to the room the stylist directed. 'Yumi's in there..' Before I knocked on the door, I took out the box in my bag. I opened it and took a good look at the two rings for a few moments. One for me and one for her. The initials K&Y were also carved beautifully. I smiled to myself as I put the silver ring back in its box. 'I hope she'll like it.'
Finally, I knocked on the door. Or that was what I was gonna do until I saw that it was a bit open. I drew my hand back from knocking and looked through the creak of the opening.
"Come on, just for a while," a voice said. It was a male's voice. Isn't this supposed to be Yumi's room??
"Umm..." that was surely Yumi's voice. She's not replying to the person. Are they the only ones there?? I couldn't actually see them from the opening but I could still hear them. My heart started to beat faster.
"It's fine, isn't it?"
"....okay," she said. Then there was a moment of silence. I couldn't hold it anymore. I opened the door forcefully.
There, I saw a scene I always hoped that I'll never see. Yumi and a male model. Kissing. I instantly regretted going in. They broke their kiss as soon as they saw me. Both of them looked surprised. But not as much as I do.
"K-Ken...." I turned to Yumi. "T-This is not what it looks like!!" She walked towards me and her hand reached towards mine.
"No," I suddenly withdrew my hand from her. My voice was shaking and it was really hard for me to even get one word out of my mouth.
"Ken, I can explain," Yumi looked hurt. Her eyes were also watery.
"What is it?! Hurry up and tell me!" I said. My mind was blank. I didn't know what to do at all. My body won't behave and I couldn't calm down.
"This is just an act, Ken! I told you we had to pretend to be couple cuz the theme of the shoot was like that! There's nothing going on with me and him! I'm so sorry. Please believe me!" She cried as she gripped my clothes. I didn't brush her away this time. Tears were dripping down from her face like rain. Her eyes were becoming red. Her face with flawless makeup a few moments ago was now ruined with tears.
My voice wouldn't come out. I really want to believe her. She could be right... maybe it was all an act. I convinced myself. My eyes went to her face. Her face seemed so desperate. "Please...Ken," she begged. "I'm sorry for not answering your calls or messages. I'm sorry for not being able to see you. I'll do everything properly again so please give me another chance!"
I slowly nodded. I couldn't reject her. After all, I'm still totally in love with her. Her eyes beamed once I nodded and she hugged me tightly. She sobbed more after that. I just stayed quiet as I stroked her hair.
>>>>>>>>>>>
It's been 5 days after that. Yumi answered to all my calls and messages, no, it was mostly her who called me. We even met up a few times.
But that only lasted for two days. She was now back with her work and didn't even answer my calls anymore. We have lost touch completely during these three days.
Is this it? Is it gonna end this way? But this is not a choice anymore. Although I want to believe in her... This is for the best. She'd have fewer worries if I'm not there. I can't continue if it's gonna be like this.
I took my phone out and called her. She finally picked up on my 6th call.
"Hello? Ken, I'm sorry, I'm at work right now. I can't talk," Yumi whispered from the other end.
"Yumi, I have to say something. Can we meet up? It's important," I said nervously.
"Yeah sure, maybe later. But I'm not free these days. Sorry I really gotta go--"
"YUMI!" I yelled. I didn't intend to raise my voice but I was really frustrated right now. She was silent for a while.
"...where should we meet up?" She asked. Her voice was weak and small. I think I scared her. I never yelled at her before.
"I'll be waiting at the usual park we go to in 30 minutes."
"Okay..." I ended the call and took a deep breath as I tried to calm myself down.
I waited in front of the park, trying to arrange my words. The park was silent. It's already 8 pm and no one comes here at night.
Then, I heard footsteps approaching. I didn't look up since I already knew who it was.
"Ken..."
"You're able to finish your work?"
"No...but you're important so I came!"
"Oh...thanks," I smiled halfheartedly.
"So? What do you have to say?" Yumi asked.
I walked up to her. This is it. After I say this, it'll all be over... the memories of us flashed back. I didn't shake it away, but I accepted them. I have to move on.
"Yumi.....let's break up," I stared into her eyes.
Her eyes widened and her face looked like she didn't believe what just happened.
"Ken--"
"This is for the both of us, Yumi," I interrupted.
She didn't answer. Her hands tightened into fists and she hung her head down. She fought the tears from breaking out but it failed. She bit her lower lip, "So this is it?" Her voice was trembling.
I really felt bad but there's no use. It's gonna have to end sooner or later. "Yeah...."
She said nothing but just nodded, ".....I have to go now," she croaked.
"Mhm..." after that, she ran away with all the power she had left. I also turned around and walked my way back.
It rained the whole night. I think it was crying for me. As well as for her. But it wasn't even much, compared to how much we cried that night.
>>>>>>>>>>>
It's been almost a week since we broke up, I kept wondering to myself if I did the right thing or not. Should I've been more understanding to Yumi? But I shook away these thoughts, what's done is done anyways. It's not like I can change it anymore.
School's now almost ending and we're about to become third years. Yumi hasn't come to school in a while. I hope she's okay....No no no!! Don't worry about her!! Worry about yourself instead! I've been in a terrible state since then.
"Ken!!!!!!" Ryouta yelled in my ears. I don't even care anymore, I ignored him. "He's totally out of it." I stood up. "Ken where are you going??"
I went to the bathroom and washed my face to snap my myself out. I looked at myself in the mirror. I ruffled my hair. Should I get a haircut? That's what people usually do after breakups right? Then I saw Shou leaning, crossed-arm, on one of the bathroom stalls from the mirror.
"Are you here to laugh at my face and tell me that you told me so? Or because I didn't listen to you? That I should've believed you when you warned me? Or are you just here to be like 'next time, do what I say'?!! And if I didn't, are you just gonna mention this time when things didn't go right?!?" I asked taking my anger out on Shou.
He didn't say anything.
"Why aren't you saying anything??" I started to get emotional, my eyes started to sting and the mirror became blurry. I wiped my tears away. "Is it because you pity me? The one who broke up with the girlfriend who almost 'cheated' on me? Were you pitying me this whole time when she didn't stay in touch with me?! I know! I know you're just trying to be a good friend but--screw everything!" I slammed my fist on the sink. I slowly turned my head to him. His expression was just like usual. "Say something, dammit!!"
Before I was able to continue to say anymore, Shou unexpectedly threw a punch to my face. I was taken aback by his sudden attack that I was lost for words. I didn't know he had this much strength. Then he grabbed the collar of my uniform.
"Have you finally gone mad? Who cares about who was right or wrong? And pity? Why would I pity someone like you? You have nothing for someone to feel sorry for. I already know that if it's you, you're gonna do things with no regrets. I know you're just putting all your anger out on me right now but get a grip! You're gonna face bigger problems in the future and you're being like this just by a breakup?" He let go of me.
I was speechless. That's the only word that can describe me right now. Is this even Shou? His voice sounds lazy as always and he didn't yell, but it had a sharper tone than usual. Shou isn't even the type of person who'd even bother trying to know one's business. He couldn't care less about things other than his sleep and games. But for him to even go out of character and to tell me things like this...he truly is a good friend. No-- he's a great friend and a person who cherishes his friends.
"Shou...." I looked at him in the eyes carefully, getting a bit emotional, "What should I do, then?! How do I continue to live on? After all, I still like her! Please help me, Shou!"
He stood in front of me as I waited for an answer. His stiff expression dropped and he returned back to the old lazy Shou. "You're fine, right now. You're asking help like how you always do and that's how the usual Ken is like. I'm glad I knocked some sense back into you," he gave a small smile.
"Hey hey hey, this is unfair!" Ryouta appeared out of nowhere, "You're just asking Shou? Aren't you leaving me out too much? :') you can rely on me too!!"
The three of us gave a look at each other and burst into laughter. Even Shou laughed along a bit. "Ahahah, yeah! From now on, I'll rely on you guys more instead of deciding things on my own," I grinned.
"Yeah!" Ryouta cheered as Shou smiled and nodded.

One day, I got a text from someone I didn't expect. I thought about it for a while before opening the message. Opening it won't hurt, right?
From: Yumi
Subject: -
I know you don't want to talk to me but, could we please meet up? I want to apologize and I have to tell you something......It would be great if you could come to the cafe we met last time at precisely 6 pm.
-end-
She said she has something to tell me and that I have to come at precisely 6?? Is she demanding or asking? I decided not to go, I have nothing to say to her. I didn't want to hear anything from her too. I spent my day doing things I normally do. I checked the clock, it was 6. The thought of going came to my mind but I refused my own thoughts, I just can't go. I read a book to occupy my mind. I checked the clock again, it was already 6:15 pm. Then I got another message from Yumi.
From: Yumi
Subject: Farewell
I knew you wouldn't come... I'm so sorry Ken. We'll have to bid our farewell here. Goodbye Ken....
-end-
"Farewell?? What does she mean?" Various meaning came into my mind. I had a bad feeling so I went to the cafe immediately. But what was I expecting? Of course...she wouldn't still be here. She was.....gone. Just then someone tapped on my shoulders.
"Excuse me, could you be Hiroto Ken-san?" A woman that was wearing the cafe's uniform asked.
"Yes, that's me," I answered, confused how she knew my name.
"Ah, a blonde haired girl called Yumi left this for you," She handed me a folded piece of paper and went back to the counter she was previously at.
Yumi, left a message? I unfolded the paper and started reading what she wrote.
Dear Ken,
I'm sad that you didn't make it but I'll just write my message here in case you come later. Actually, I'm truly sorry about how I acted back then. I feel bad that I couldn't say this to you directly.
I'm probably at the airport right now, when you read this. I knew you would come after all. I'm going to France! I plan to reach higher in my modeling career there. One day, I'll come back as the Nao Yumiko that everyone will know. Thanks for helping me with becoming who I am today.
Sincerely,
Yumi
I exited the cafe and look down at the paper once more and crumbled it. What she did was right. This is the best for both of us. This might even help me get over her, now that I know that she's.....gone. I look up at the sky. I saw a plane arising to the sky from a distance. It maybe or not be the plane that's she riding on right now. Hope you learn a lot there. Goodbye, Yumi...
>>>>>>>>>>> (back to the present)
"Ahahah okay, I'll try that," I chuckled.
"Mhm! Okay so I'm gonna sleep now. Good night~"
"Yeah, sweet dreams~ good night," I said as I hang up the call. I peaked outside my window, the sky was filled with more stars than usual. Then I spot the box of ring that I planned to give her. But in the end I didn't get to give it. I took the rings with me as I went outside my balcony to stargaze. There were nothing but trees at the ground located in the back of the apartment. I held on the rim on the balcony. 'It's such a beautiful night today.' It brought back memories of the night I sent Yumi back home.
"Yumi.... you weren't supposed to come back..." I said as I clutched the rings tight in my hand. Then I threw the rings as far away as I could from my balcony it landed in the trees and the bushes below. "Not with the intention of starting over."
Extended Ending:
Thunk! Something fell on the white haired girl's head. Thunk! Another one fell on the other girl with black hair.
"Ugh...what was that?!" The black haired girl wailed.
"Ouch...I don't know, it's dark, I can't see properly," the other one said.
"Heheheh, lemme use my superpowers to see (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و " the black haired girl took out something from her pocket. Dan dan dannnnn!!! It was....her phone!!
"(-_-;) ..... Seriously?" The white haired hit the black haired on the head. "This is no time for joking!"
The black haired girl grinned, "Shhh! Watch! Dun dun dunnnnn!" She opened her flashlight from her phone.
They searched for the object that hit her on their heads. "This........Kuro, look!"
"It can't be!" She gasped as she turned to the other. "Yukkin!"
"Rings with our initials on??!" They said at the same time and their eyes gleamed with excitement. Then they each took the rings and put it on. They both glanced at each other and nodded and said it rhythm, "Finally, our time to shine has arrived!"
"This makes us the K!" The black haired started as she hold out three fingers, showing the alphabet K.
"Anddd Y!" The white haired continued and hold up two fingers, showing Y.
"DUOO!!~" Both of them exclaimed at the same time and did a crossed cartwheel-- but failed cause they can't do one.
