A girl reached home from college, looking happy. She had many things in her mind to tell her mother and her sister. She rang the bell and the door was opened by her sister.

??? : Mai tere aane ka hi intezaar kar rahi thi Tanya, sun, mai apni dost ke ghar ja rahi hu, maa bahar gayi huyi hai. Bhook lagi ho toh kitchen se lekar kuch bhi kha lena. I was waiting for you only to come Tanya, listen, I am going to my friend's home, maa has gone out. If you are hungry take anything from the kitchen.

Tanya's happiness disappeared in a moment.

Tanya: Lekin... But...

Her sister's phone rang and she left while talking after waving at her. She closed the door. It wasn't anything new, she couldn't share her happiness also with anyone, let alone her problems, because all were very busy in their own lives.

Tanya: Kaash maine khudko itna dur na kiya hota apne parivaar se, toh mujhe bhulaya nahi jata, lekin kuch kar bhi nahi sakti. I wish I hadn't distanced myself so much from my family, then I wouldn't have been the forgotten one, but I can't help it.

She sighed and went to her room. She forgot everything she wanted to say also by now. Her gaze fell onto the table where her laptop was kept. In this laptop even her feelings were stored, in the form of poems.

Tanya: Kisike paas mere liye kabhi wakt nahi hota. Kaise batau unko apna dard jinke saath khushiya tak nahi baant sakti? Jo choti baato tak par mera bharosa nahi karte, woh mera tab kya bharosa karenge jab mai apni raaz bataungi? Unko samajh nahi aata ki mere liye kitna mushkil hai apni takleef batana, jab koshish karti hu meri taleef ka mazak bana diya jata hai, sabke liye meri feelings ek mazak bankar reh jati hai. No one ever has time for me. How do I share my pain with the ones I am not able to share my happiness with? The ones who don't believe me on small things only, how will they believe me if I ever reveal my deepest secrets? They don't understand how difficult it is for me to say my sufferings, whenever I try my problems are made a joke, my feelings become a joke to everyone.

She chuckled humorlessly.

Tanya: Mai kitni choti choti baato par udaas ho jati hu. I get upset at such small things.

She went to change, distracting herself from the thoughts that were occupying her mind just few seconds ago. Moving to Riineet,

Avu was reading as usual while Rii was looking at her as usual. He saw few strands of her hair coming down and tucked them behind her ear, making her look up. 

Avu: Tu bore nahi ho raha, khaali baith kar idhar? Aren't you getting bored, just sitting here?

Rii: Nahi, mai woh kar raha hu jo karna mujhe bahut zyada pasand hai. No, I am doing something I love doing a lot.

Avu: Aur woh kya hai? And what's that?

Rii: Kuch nahi. Nothing.

He noticed her smile fading and followed her gaze to find a couple. He held her hand, taking her attention. He wiped away the tear that left her eye when she blinked.

Rii: Is pyaari muskaan ke badle teri
Yeh saara jahan bhi kaafi nahi
Khone na dena ise kabhi
Kahi yeh saanse bhi na tham jaye wahi.

Tujhse hi ujala
Tujhse hi hai andhera
Jeena na chodna uske liye
Jisne tujhe na pehechana.

She stood up while keeping her book aside, seeing which he stood up as well and she hugged him. He felt her body shake and realised she is crying.

Rii: Uske liye mat ro, woh in aansoo ko bhi deserve nahi karta. Don't cry for him, he doesn't deserve these tears also.

She pulled back.

Avu: Kisne bola uske liye ro rahi hu? Teri wajah se ro rahi hu pagal. Who told you I am crying for him? I am crying because of you idiot.

She didn't know how her words affected him. She unknowingly always said something or did something which just made him love her more. His determination to move on from her would be shattered within few seconds.

Avu: Mujhe nahi pata maine kya kiya tujh jaisa best friend paane ke liye par kaash sabke paas tujh jaisa koyi ho unki zindagi mein. I don't know what I have done to deserve you as my best friend but I wish everyone has someone like you in their life.

And the very next moment she would break his heart, yet again unknowingly.

Rii: Woh toh nahi ho payega kyunki mai ek lauta piece hu jise bhagwaan ne aisa banaya. They can't because I am the only one god created like this. 

They pulled back.

Avu: Ek baar taarif kardu toh udne lag jaata hai. All I need to do is praise you once for you to start lying.

Both laughed.

Avu:  Tujhe har baar mujhe khush karne ki koshish karne ki zarurat nahi hai. Wakt ke saath mai kar lungi move on. You know you don't have to always try cheering me up. I will move on with time.

Rii: Mai janta hu tu kar legi, par kya karu, apni best friend ko dukhi dekh kar mai bhi dukhi ho jata hu. Aur maine jo kaha sach hai, tu meri roshni hai, mera andhera hai, teri muskaan na bahut keemti hai aur kisi cheez ke badle na jaane du, meri jaan bhi nahi. I know you will, but what can I do, I get sad seeing my best friend sad. And I meant what I said, you are my ray of light, you are my darkness, your smile really is very precious and I will never exchange it for anything, not even my life.

She was at a loss of words. 

Avu: Tu kab bada ho gaya? When did you grow up?

Rii: Kya? What?

He looked at her in confusion.

Avu: Kuch din pehle tak toh mai teri madad karti rehti thi, tu bachpana aur laparvahi karta tha. Till few days back it would be me helping you, you would behave childish and careless.

Rii:Filhal meri baari hai, tujhe madad chahiye. Kuch wakt ke liye khudko badla hai, tujhe pareshaan karna kaise chod sakta hu? Right now it's my turn, you want help. I've just changed my behaviour for sometime, how can I stop troubling you?

Avu: Of course.

She saw the time.

Avu: Hume chalna chahiye, late ho raha hai. We should go now, it is getting late.

Rii: Yeah. 

With Daniel,

He reached the hostel to immediately face a boy. He groaned mentally knowing it is another complain.

Boy: Tu late ho gaya aaj. You are late today. 

Dan: Ha, bus chut gayi. Ek aur shikayat? Yeah, I missed the bus. Another complain?

Boy: Ha. Use bol ye roz roz ka drama band kare ya hostel chod de. Teri wajah se koyi use kuch bol bhi nahi pata. Aaj use thappad maarte maarte rukh gaya kyunki pata tha woh aakar jhoothi kahaniya sunayegi aur tu mujh par ghussa karega. Yes. Tell her to stop this drama of hers everyday or just leave the hostel. Because of you no one can tell her anything also. I was seconds away from slapping her today but had to stop knowing she'll come tell you a story and then you will get angry on me.

Dan: Mai baat karta hu usse. I'll talk to her. 

Boy: Hmm.

Daniel went to his room where a girl was sitting. 

Dan: Tu kyu sabko pareshaan karti rehti hai? Hostel se nikalna hai? Why do you keep troubling everyone? Do you want to get removed from the hostel?

Girl: Hello to you too.

She stood up.

Girl: Maine kisiko pareshaan nahi kiya. Baaki jan hai jo apne kaam se kaam nahi rakhte aur meri life mein kuch zyada hi interested hai. I didn't trouble anyone. It's others who don't mind their own business and are too interested in my life.

Dan: Mai idhar nahi tha uska matlab ye nahi ki tu jhooth bole, mai ache se janta hu kisne kya bola and tune kya kiya jisse woh itna ghussa hue. Just because I was not here doesn't mean you lie and I believe. I very well know who said what and what you did for them to be angry.

Girl: Whatever.

She rolled her eyes.

Dan: Amaya, meri baato ko ansuna karna band kar. Amaya, stop ignoring me.

Amaya: Na karu toh? If I don't?

He held her arm and turned her.

Dan: Itna bhi mat kar ki mujhe tujhe is hostel se nikalwana pade. Tu un ladko ko phir se seduce karne ki koshish nahi karegi warna zyada time nahi tikegi idhar. Don't make me get you removed from this hostel. You try seducing those boys again and I will make sure you don't stay here for long.

Amaya: Kyu? Tu jealous hota hai? Why? You get jealous?

Dan: Tujhe jo samajhna hai samajh, mujhe farak nahi pata, bas ye drama band kar ab. Think whatever you want, I don't care, just stop this non-sense.

He slammed the door shut behind him and went from there.

Boy: Ise toh uske ghusse se bhi dar nahi lagta. She is not scared of his anger also.

Boy2: Kyunki yeh janti hai woh kabhi apna haat nahi uthayega is par. Balki isko dekh kar lagta hai jaise tang aakar ye hostel chod dega. Because she knows he will never raise his hand on her. Seeing him I feel he will be fed up and will leave this hostel one day.

Boy: Kaash waisa na ho warna jo ye thodi bahut limit mein hai uski wajah se woh bhi nahi rahega. I hope that doesn't happen otherwise the little limit she has because of him will also be gone.

Boy2: Sahi kaha. Chalte hai. True. Let's go.
