Ross's pov -5 years later-
I walk downstairs to see Dad on the phone. I grab my bag and wave. He waves back and I walk out the back door. I wander through the woods until I get to the clearing. I lay down and look up at the clouds. I hear the slightest noise of a leaf getting stepped on and jump up, pulling out my dagger. "Did I startle the Rabbit?" The boy in front of me says. I notice the gold 'Z' necklace and realize who it is. "Wolfie, you ass," I say, laughing and run to hug him. He hugs back," You miss me?" "No, just hugging you for no reason," I reply. We pull away. "You dork," He says. "Why were you guys gone so long?" I ask, sitting down. "Some thing with some girls trying to join a cult thingy that my Father wanted to check out. Then, we ran into Tobbi and stayed there for a bit to help him with some stuff," He replies, shrugging. "A year and a half just for that?" I ask. "Oh, and some trouble with Jane," He speaks up suddenly. I nod. He sits next to me and hugs me again. I hug back and lay my head on his chest. "I, uhh, want to tell you something," Max suddenly says, seeming nervous. "Yeah?" I ask, looking up at him. "I'm...bisexual," he replies, looking nervous and kinda scared. "That's ok," I respond and he let's out a sigh. "C'mon, I gotta do some hunting or Dad'll get mad," I say, standing up. He stands up next to me. We start to walk again when my dad comes running next to us. Then, Slendy appears, too. "We gotta go, Ross, now," Dad says, grabbing my arm. Slendy takes Max's. "Come son. The humans have found us, and we must leave," He says urgently. "Hold on!" I yell and run over to Max. I hug him and he immediately hugs back. Without a word, I nod and I run off with my Dad.
Max's pov
After Ross and Jeff leave, Father takes me in his tentacles and begins to run. My Father is so fast even walking he rarely runs. He lets me in the house where I grab food, water, clothes, and the First-aid kit. I run back out and he picks me up again and runs.
-One hour later-
We make it to a town that has no idea we exist. Father rushes me into an alley where he sits. "As much as I hate to do this. Then, his tentacles dissapear. I'm so shocked, I can't speak. Then he shrinks from 10 feet tall, to 6'6. My mouth opens and closes, but nothing comes out. He goes from white to just kinda pale. I'm frozen. Then, a pair of eyes, a nose, and a mouth appear. Is he turning human?! Black hair appears on his head and the transformation is complete. I just stand there, staring. He sighs. "It's still me, Max," He says, (I imagine him with the voice of Levi from AOT). I nod and we walk into the town. We see a small hotel and rent a room. "Max, we left because the humans knew where we lived, and found out that we had you and Ross," He explains. I just nod and lay down. I miss my Rabbit.
Ross's pov -The next morning-
"Ross, Ross, get up, bud," I hear and slowly sit up. I rub my eyes and look at my Dad. "Are we leaving again?" I ask. "In a sort, I want to live around here, but we need to find an abandoned place," He responds. I nod and stand. We start to walk, and I see a figure in the trees. "Dad, stop," I whisper and he stops. "What is it?" He whispers back. I point at the figure and see they're staring right at us. Dad straightens. "Hi! What a pleasure seeing someone else in the woods. Sadly, you have to die now," He says, with a murderous twinkle in his eyes. He runs forward and does a wall run of sorts to the trees. I smile and turn around kicking the girls knife out of her hand. "I'm not stupid, bitch," I say, flashing my teeth. "And I'm not a bitch, fucker," She says. "Bad idea, I'm the one with a knife here," I reply with a smirk. She looks kinda scared now. Then, she turns and runs. I notice the other figure running towards her and they leave. I turn to see my Dad with a bloody knife. "So you didn't kill her?" I ask. "No, she was fast and pretty good at dodging, but I cut her pretty nicely, she'll die if they don't have a medic," He replies, licking the blood off. "I doubt they do, the other girl was highly inexperienced, in fact, she could've got me, before I heard her, she was close enough and made the mistake of getting a little too close," I answer. Wolf would've been proud I was able to pick that much up. I miss him.
