Dear, Readers 

I know this isn't an actual update but some things need to be addressed. First of all, I'm sure you've all noticed that this book hasn't been updated in a very long time. That is actually because over on Quotev.com I announced my Hatius for this book over there which extends over here to this platform as well. The reason for the Hatius was due to needing to take a break for my mental health. As writing this series has placed a huge drain on me for several different reasons. Some of those are happening on Quotev while others are happening on here. I know I don't interact much on Wattpad and that is because I do not like the site. For a lot of reasons mostly just personal preferences but there are also other reasons as well. To be honest I would have never moved my work over on this site if someone had not reached out to me on Quotev and requested I do so. Because of them, more people have access to my work, especially Misty and the Ninja Series. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's not something I ever imagined wanting. I am very comfortable on Quotev with the little community I had made over there. I can't say I am as comfortable over here. Especially with the current reception of the storyline and that is not to say the people over on Quotev are happy either. However, the way they express themselves is very different than here. I understand that many of you are displeased with the decision I made with Misty and Lloyd. However, I will not apologize for it. I am a writer and I am also aware that my work is viewed by many younger people. I am careful with what I write and how I show certain things. 

I have no intention of showing certain types of relationships in romanticized lighting. I will never romanticize abusive relationships (Harumi and Lloyd) or Relationships where a partner is not equally prioritized. (Misty and Lloyd) {After Harumi}. Misty was my role model I've been writing her for a very long time and I of course love her. Not only that but I know her like the back of my hand. She is a strong person and loving person, but she's not someone who would continually subject herself to a relationship that is no longer healthy or good for her. As her author and biggest supporter, I wasn't going to continue to allow her to stay in that relationship. I was not going to continue to write her as a person who would continue to let someone they love hurt them over and over simply in the name of "love."  I love her too much to let that happen. 

Please do not think my decision to split Lloyd and Misty up was easy on me either. I have been writing their relationship since 2018. Misty and Lloyd's love story helped me through some of the at the time hardest moments and years of my life. I can say with genuine honesty that the night I finally came to terms with their break up I cried a lot. I know you might not understand but I did truly put my heart and soul into writing their relationship. I wanted it to feel real and safe to say it did. 

I understand that you might not support that decision but I hope you will at least respect it as mine as the author of this story and as the creator of the Misty and the Ninja Series. I'd like to request from now on that in the comments you all try and remain respectful and polite with one another. I understand that you guys might not agree but there are better ways to talk about different opinions. 

Second I understand not all of you might agree with Cole's decision or even his feelings toward Misty. But understand that this isn't as easy a situation as just telling Misty the truth. 

Zane and Pixal have come to the conclusion with their tests that Misty's control of her powers is all but gone. Most of the ninjas know this now including Cole, Jay, and Nya. Those five also know about the Police's hypothetical plan to lock Misty away if she becomes too dangerous. It is unknown if Kai knows both these things but they are actively keeping this fact from Lloyd to keep him from acting irrationally.  As he already has caused Misty a lot of emotional distress which as we know has played a huge part in her decline of control. It is not in question if Lloyd loves Misty but if he genuinely now would cause more harm than good. Misty is unstable she is not capable of talking it out with Lloyd.

 Cole's decision to keep things secret from her is delaying the inevitable and an attempt to buy more time for Zane and Pixal to hopefully find another solution. Pixal and Zane have sadly come to the understanding that with Misty's current condition. It is not an if but a matter of when will Misty finally be seen as too much of a threat to Ninjago's safety. Misty already knows she is dangerous but If Cole reveals how potentially dangerous Ninjago City views her she would flee or lose control completely. I think you all underestimate how far gone Misty's control truly is at this point in time. The ninjas love Misty very much they want to protect her, and sometimes that means lying or keeping certain things secret. I know some of you are deeply upset but Cole's decisions but understand this is not just his but Nya, Jay, Zane, and Pixal's as well. 

Cole's feelings:  Cole has had feelings for Misty for a long time probably a little at the end of season two and in between the time before the start of Season Three (Rebooted).  Up until the (Hunted) Which in Ninjago time probably is a few years, yet he has kept those feelings a secret and has been capable of respecting both Lloyd and Misty's relationship while also being there to both support Lloyd and Misty separately. Currently, as I am writing Cole despite his actions being interpreted Cole genuinely does not have any alternative motives. His priority is keeping Misty in a state of somewhat stability. The way I see and write Cole is he's someone who constantly puts the needs of others above his own. He is the team's rock and foundation. He cares about Misty and isn't about to put her emotions in any more state of turmoil. If anything part of him genuinely regrets confessing his feelings to Mai in (The Hunted) He does really like her but he sees now how it complicated things, especially for Misty and Lloyd. Part of him wishes he had never told Misty his true feelings and instead kept them secret. However, he doesn't want to tell her this as he knows it would really upset her. 

Misty's Feelings: Misty still loves Lloyd. Let's make that clear but sometimes you can still love someone and still decided you are better off not in a relationship with one another. Misty is not stupid she knows and understands how Lloyd affects her and her feelings. She knows that being around Lloyd is making her more unstable. She is making this decision based on protecting herself and in turn others. She still loves Lloyd and a little part of her will probably be forever in some way. Rather than be in a romantic sense or just as someone she still wants to be involved with and in her life until it eventually ends one day. Misty's feelings about Cole are more complicated. 

I hope this clears some things up. As of right now, I will continue my Hatius. I still need time to think over some things and what my decisions will be considering this story at least considering Wattpad. A Possible outcome is  I might decide to end updating on Wattpad for this story in particular due to the stress it causes me and instead simply upload on Quotev only. I do not want to do that but It is being considered. Either way, I will leave a note of my decision once it is made.
