Complicated Feelings 2

As the team continued to travel they trained and spared together. Cole and Misty were paired, Cole had his hammer hefted onto his shoulder and brought it down toward Misty. Who flung up her hand and created a sheet of crystal to block the attack. The hammer's surface smashed into the crystal and cracks spiraled out from the point of impact.

Misty jumped back as Cole pulled the hammer back and slammed it once more into the crystal breaking through, sparkling shards rained down onto the ground like glittering shards of glass.

Misty then encased her fist in crystal and aimed a blow at Cole's head, the blow was deflected by the head of Cole's hammer, and the crystal encasing Misty's fist began to crack.

Cole grabbed Misty's wrist and using his lava arm he managed to lift her off the ground and slammed her onto her back, successfully knocking the wind out of her. Misty let out a gasp as she sucked air into her lungs and she kicked her legs upward her knee making contact with Cole's broad chest. Cole let out a grunt but didn't let go. Misty then dug her knee harder into Cole's chest forcing him into letting her go and she rolled free. Where she then clamped her hand down on his own wrist and encased it in crystal, trapping it to the ground. She then proceeded to try and scramble to her feet, only for Cole to use his leg and sweep her legs out from underneath her causing her to tumble right back down on her back.

Cole let out a laugh and said, "Come on now Misty you really didn't think that would work now did you?"

Misty let out a huff and mumbled "Wishful thinking I guess."

Cole let out a hearty laugh and used his other lava arm to break himself free, just as Misty rolled out of his reach and jumped to her feet this time wielding a crystal staff she had made. Cole swung his hammer at her and she braced against the blow with the staff handle. The staff managed to hold up against the blow and did not shatter, even as Cole applied more pressure. Misty could feel her feet starting to slip and she attempted to brace herself more but she knew that she was no match for Cole's strength. With one more shove from Cole, Misty's feet slipped and she crumpled to her knees having barely enough time to shatter her staff and throw up a barrier of crystal. The barrier was thin and it shattered easily the shards rained down onto Misty's head, one of the larger shards sliced Misty's cheek and a small trail of blood flowed down her cheek and dripped onto the deck. Seeing the blood Cole quickly eased up on his attack. And Misty stood she gently touched the side of her face and pulled her hand away seeing her fingertips bloodied slightly. She let out an annoyed sigh and said, "It's fine, this always happens when I train anyway."

"The swords and equipment you make don't shatter while in actual combat, why are they shattering now?" Cole asked

"They don't shatter because I make sure they're strong enough to within stand attacks but when I'm sparing its not worth the energy or effort to do so since I want to make sure to conserve the energy I have. Which is also why I'm not using the black crystal because it would be too dangerous to use in close combat and you'd also get blown up." Misty explained

"I appreciate you not blowing me up then, but we should really get that wound taken care of, at the very least placing a bandage on it." Cole reasoned

Misty sighed and said, "Okay if you insist then I will."

"Follow me and we'll get you patched up," Cole said kindly and Misty followed him, Cole lead her to the bridge and soon found the first aid kit. He opened it and proceeded to take out a band-aid and a disinfecting wipe. Misty wrinkled her nose seeing the wipe and leaned away from Cole when he turned toward her with it in his hand.

Cole let out a sigh and said, "Come on Misty we have to clean it before we put a band-aid on it you don't want it to get infected."

Misty's face scrunched up in distaste but she grumbled and said, "Be quick about it okay?"

"I'll try," Cole said and he gently reached forward with the wipe and started to clean the wound.

Misty flinched as the wipe stung as it came into contact with the cut. Cole gently held Misty's face in place as he cleaned the cut. After he was done he carefully placed the bandaid on her cheek.

"Thank you," Misty said as she pulled away.

"No problem I was happy I could help," Cole said with a smile. There was then noticeable silence that hung in the air between them. Cole and Misty shared some complicated feelings for one another, which had happened because of an even more complicated experience. The feelings were still present but were unfortunately unable to be expressed, for serval different reasons. One begins Misty's relationship with Lloyd which was still on its way to begin completely mended.

Misty and Cole had remained very close but had yet to come clean to Lloyd about how complex their feelings were to one another. The relationship between the two of them occurred during a time when Misty's and Lloyd's relationship was pretty much-undefined thanks to Harumi and the fact Lloyd and Misty had been trapped in a different realm, with Misty being split into two different versions of herself. Her Oni side was with Cole and her human side was with Lloyd. Her human side wasn't in love with Lloyd at the time. But Cole was in love with Misty and nurtured a relationship with her Oni side while in the other realm. When they got back to Ninjago the two sides of Misty came back together and Misty was once again whole. Which unfortunately placed an abrupt and unceremonious end to the relationship her Oni side shared with Cole. But all the emotions were still there and very present inside her heart and Cole's. Which placed them in a rather difficult predicament, as they didn't know how to explain everything to Lloyd who was still in a relationship with Misty who still very much loved him but the feelings she had gained from Mai complicated her feelings for Lloyd.

Both of them sat in silence neither daring to say anything.
