Character List

Before we get to the main event, here are the important faces to know for Mistletoe and Matrimony. There's only a bit listed for some of these characters, but you'll get to know them better soon enough — plus I'm keeping this list spoiler free!

Archibald Colston: The wise and dutiful son, Archibald had hoped to form an advantageous match to save his family from financial ruin, but a rejected proposal brought him to his better senses. He sold his family estate and with all his father's debts paid, moved himself, his mother and sister to London. With the keen advice of his American friend, Harry De Rosier, Archibald was able to make several fortuitous investments in the American marketplace with the money left over from the sale of the country house. After the first windfall of good fortune in a long while, Archibald then decided to move his family to a place where they would have access to even further opportunities to better their lives — New York City.

Olivia Colston: The demure and dutiful sister of Archibald Colston, Olivia spent the first eighteen years of her life in preparation to be presented to the finest circles of English society. She'd hoped to make a sensible match that would make her family proud and earn her a comfortable life of security. But months before she was set to be presented in the royal salon, her brother decided to wrench her from the society she was so familiar with, to stake a claim in the enigmatic, and often capricious, elite of New York society. Olivia is determined to dislike everything to do with New York City, including the vexatious crush on Harry De Rosier she can't seem to shake. But thanks to Archibald's new obsession with the Civic Opera House, Olivia soon finds herself drawn into the strange city, and it's even more fascinating people.

Lady Ida Colston: The perpetually puckered mother of Archibald and Olivia, Lady Colston is a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to the welfare of her two children, there is nothing she wouldn't do.

Harry De Rosier: The sensational corsetier and importer of fine French undergarments, Harry De Rosier, and his Broadway shop, are a source of fascination for every Deb in New York City.

Grace Hodges: Meticulous and determined, Grace Hodges has earned a reputation for running the tightest shows in the business. She is the stage manager for the Civic Opera House and the right hand woman of Turner & Green.

Conrad Turner: Able to move between both the Swells and the Knickerbockers, Conrad Turner soon becomes Olivia and Archibald's guide to New York society. He also serves as an opera producer and chairman of the board for the Civic Opera House.

Jasper Green: The business partner of Conrad Turner, Jasper is the more eccentric half of New York City's second greatest theater duo — second only to Gilbert & Sullivan. When he isn't acting as producer alongside Conrad, he serves as director to their shows.

Daphne Vanderberg: Daughter of the great Ethel Vanderberg, Daphne hasn't even made her debut into society, and she's already the talk of the town. While she is supposed to be finding a husband, the golden-voiced songbird finds herself center stage in the role of ingenue rather than marriageable debutant.

Ethel Vanderberg: The Empress of Fifth Avenue's "Millionaires Row" and a principal investor in the Civic Opera House, Ethel Vanderberg and her Swells are out to prove that Casilda Alexander and her "Three Hundred" aren't the only New Yorkers worth talking about in the society pages.

Casilda Alexander: The Queen of Washington Circle and the ring leader of New York's old money, the Knickerbockers, Casilda is the president of the Society of Music where she is known for excluding the Swells from the highly limited number of theater boxes.
