final ending

the original ending, the Last Part was the current ending.

December 24, 6:00 am

"Hey, Dawn? I don't think ill be able to go to your party."

"What? Why? You promised me!' The voice of Dawn's shrill sent a shiver down my spin.

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just that...I have something to do today."

Hearing her sigh,"Whatever." She ended the call.

Groaning I plopped myself onto my bed.

Rinng Riiinnng Rii-

Without looking at the caller ID I answered it,"Hello?"

"You'll be at the party tonight right?"

"Yup, what about it?" I asked him.

"Don't be late." He said firmly. And just when I was about to reply he ended the call.

"Jerk," I muttered and stuffed my face in a pillow. Closing my eyes, I fell deeply into my slumber.

Why can't we go back to the way we were?

Before when we were just starting 6th grade, it was fun. It was fun having him around. And I miss that.

I'm selfish, I know.

But is this too much to ask?
_______

8:00 am

"May! Can you take this to the Hayden's?" Mom said handing me a box. Confused I asked,"What's this?"

"Oh! Didn't I tell you? I'm in charge of the cookies and sweets!" She beamed at me, inwardly I cringed.

"Understood." I said meekly, eyeing the box in my hands.

Closing the front door behind me, I was tempted to unveil the cover of the box and throw its contents away.

"Whoever tastes mom's sweets would surely die a painful death..." Sighing I walked to the Hayden's mansion.
______

It's not as far as you would think it is if you know the shortcut. When I arrived at their doorstep I rang the doorbell.

However Gary was the one at that opened the door, and when he saw me he turned pale.

"May! What are you doing here?!" He asked his voice unusually high. Confused I raised my eyebrows,"I'm here to deliver sweets." And held up the box for him to see.

His face literally turned white as he rushed me out,"You really shouldn't be here right now." He took my box and told me to leave.

"What why?" Confused I stared at him, he was fidgeting. And then he nervously made eye contact with me," You really, shouldn't be here right now."

Hearing someone sobbing I peered over his shoulder.

It's Drew.

"He-" I was about to call out, but then I noticed something.

Drew's arms were wrapped around...

...oh...it's a girl...

Gary cursed, and quickly covered my eyes.

I blocked his hands, and stared at them.

Drew, was hugging the girl, and kissed her forehead, he was hugging her tightly.

I stood there with mixed emotions.

And I finally moved when Drew made eye contact with me.

Turning back, I ran out of his doorstep, and continued to run.

Not looking back when he told me to wait , not slowing down when he told me to stop, and not looking back when he called my name.

Like I said...mixed emotions, the only think I could do is run.

Just like what I did all those years ago.

______
3:00 pm

The snow was falling ever so softly.

Yet the flashback of what happened, appeared in my mind many times.

Brown hair, blue eyes, petite body, and they were so close.

I walked to the pond, where it started this all.

Hearing the soft snow crunch under my feet was somewhat comforting. I tucked my hands into my jackets pocket, feeling the softness between my fingers.

Blowing a breath of warm air I stopped at my destination. Kneeling down, I once again started to play with water.

The cold consuming my heat, encircling it, and slowly takes the heat away from it.

Not being able to hold it in any longer, I exploded. The sobbing of mine echoed through the area around it.

"Why can't we just...go back to the way we were?"

"Before this all happened..."

"Why did he...do such a thing?!"

"Why?!" I shouted loudly, feeling the wetness of my cheeks, I buried myself in between my knees. "Why?"

____
I didn't know how long I was there for, but when I got off the ground the sun was starting to set.

"Great, now I'm in pain," I groaned clutching my stomach, as it rumbled. "I need food," I mumbled slowly starting to walk back to my home.

It took pretty long, and by the time I reached my house the sky was already turning red and orange.

Grabbing my keys out of my pocket I opened the door,"Yo I'm back. Is dinner ready?"

Strange, no one's home. Frowning I went inside the kitchen myself and started on making a sandwich.

"They're probably at the Hayden's," I scowled bitter thoughts entered my mind,"I'm never going back to that place, ever again."

Setting the sandwich on the counter I turned on the tv right across from it, and just when I was about to take a bite someone knocked on the door.

"Dude don't you guys have a key?! Why you gotta knock just whe-," I stopped yelling when I opened the door.

Drew was leaning against the edge of the door raising an eyebrow.

"Continue." He said with a blank expression. I rolled my eyes,"What are you doing here?"

"Is it a problem that I'm here?" Irritated and hungry I decided to slam the door, but instead he stopped it with his arm.

"Nothing happened between me and her." I raised an eyebrow,"Did I asked what happened?"

He stared at me,"No, but I want my Christmas present." A vein popped as I stared up at him,"Are you serious?!"

He rolled his green eyes,"Does it look like I'm joking, December?" He flicked his annoying moss colored hair. "Argh!"

I walked quickly to my room, and snatched a gold colored box. Walking back I threw the box at him,"Here, grass head!" I scowled before slamming the door in his face.

Walking back into the kitchen I continued on what I was doing, eating my sandwich.

Then the door knocked again. Mouth full of ham and bread I got up again. "Wha? D'ya want?" I asked mouth filled with food. He scrunched up his nose,"Swallow it down and I'll tell you."

I rolled my eyes but followed his request. "What?"

"I forgot to give you, your present."

"Save it, I don't need anything from you. Maybe you should just go back to that lady friend of yours." I said bitterly.

"Oh-ho jealous?" He asked with a grin, showing his dimples. My cheeks flamed.

"You wish!" Once again I was preparing to close the door in his face, and this time he actually had the nerve to drag me out of my house.

"What are you doing?! Let me go!" I cried trying to pry his fingers away from my wrist,"Where are we going?! Gosh, answ-"

He cut me off by leaning closer to me and closing the space between us. And when he pulled away, saying that hat I was shocked would probably be an understatement.

"That was to shut you up so that you won't scare away the little kids," he stated simply, but even under the night sky you could see his blush, my cheeks flamed. Where are the little kids anyway? It's basically just the two of us.

"W-what is I-it?" I stuttered.

"Here," he gave me a red box.

I took the tops off and was met with rose petals, digging through the rose petals I felt metal. Taking it out, it was a rose necklace.

Confused I held it up,"My present?" He furrowed his eyebrows,"Is it bad?"

"No...just I didn't know you have a taste in jewelry," I chuckled. He snorted,"Like your one to talk, what in the world is this?" He asked holding the raven necklace in his hands,"Guys don't wear necklaces, it's not manly."

I chuckled, but then turned serious again,"Why did you kiss me? I'm pretty sure your lady friend wouldn't like it so much if she found out."

"God May! She's not my lady friend, it was just my cousin! She was stood up by her 'friend' so she came here, and you just happen to come at the wrong time!" He exploded, his eyes flared with anger.

I blinked, sensitive to his yelling,"Oh gosh." My voice cracked. I heard him sigh, and then he grabbed my hand, taking me on a walk.

______

He walked me back to where I was before. The pond.

His hands were warm, they held mine...tightly. I walked a step behind him, that way I could see the back of his head. He towered over me, and his emerald green hair covered the nape of his neck. "You really need a haircut you know."

He didn't look back,"Yeah and you're really need a new hair style. Dog ears won't do anything to increase your sex appeal nowadays." I scowled,"So what. It's not like a need a boyfriend or anything."

"Why do you care so much," I grumbled, staring at the ground. Ugh, he just knows exactly which buttons of mine to push.

He sighed and halted to a stop,"Why can't I care?" He turned to face me with a smirk. His eyes were shining with amusement. I was at a loss for words, so all I could do was stare at him.

His hair looks fluffy, I want to touch it. So I decided to reach my hand out to ruffle it, after a few ruffles he grabbed my wrist. "What are you doing?" He asked sounding confused.

I looked at him, and started staring at his facial features, his lips...they look delectable. I felt my face flame, what did I just think?

"You thought my lips looked delectable," he mused, licking his lips to tease me."Thanks, but maybe your lips," he trailed off staring at mine,"would turn a pretty rose color after this." He breathed out the last words before covering mine with his.

Was it possible for his to taste sweet? Cause it tasted sweeter than any sweets I've tried. It sounds cliché doesn't it, I find that it's too corny too. However, I wish this moment would never stop.
______

It seemed that after everything we've been through, it has caused more problems. We just started to assume things, not trying to resolve them.

But still, I felt that everything was worth it. It was worth the happiness I was given after we told each other's about our hidden feelings.

After the confrontation at the pond, he walked me back to his place, and asked for permission from my dad to have a relationship with me. It was interesting, because it was the first time I've seen him flush red. He was blushing...it was adorable.

And then there was a dance. He did such a sweet thing, preparing an elegant white dress with light blue laces and white colored heels.

But who I had feelings for want the him before, it was the him now and the later. However one trait still hasn't diminished, he was now always here when I needed him.

Oh right...we shared many, kisses under the mistletoe.

____
To be honest, this was supposed to be the original "last part" of the story, but it was too long so I sorta...uh well abandoned it. But then today when I returned to  edit this story I found this as a draft and continued to read it.

I found this as a different ending seeing as the previous one didn't match up with the start of the story, where May had first started to find a Christmas present for Drew.
To be honest the word for this currently is : 1983

Could be considered as the longest part I've ever written. This was the original ending, so I'm actually more proud of this than the Last Part.

Thank you for coming a long way to this story, ~ much love to everyone supporting this <3
