Chapter 24. Reading Meeting.
So here I am again, sitting next to Hermione. The two of us sharing the same book we were before.
I can't help, but feel weird around her. She's given me a second chance and allowed me to be her friend, ever after the way I treated her and that mean name I called her in second year.
She is nothing, but kind to me. She's funny, incredibly smart, and now that I'm so close to her. She's really beautiful.
My father would throw a fit if he ever found out about this. Me willingly sitting next to a muggle born and being nice.
I don't mind, all the stupid names and rude comments I've said, all the sneers, all the laughing and making fun of. It was what my father wanted. I just got used to it after a while.
I liked it second year, but not anymore. She smells amazing too. Must be her hair.
She smiles at me. " What are you thinking so hard about Draco?" She asks.
I snap out of it. " Oh nothing. I'm just a bit tired. Harry and I lost track of time last night. Pulled an all nighter basically. " I say.
" Then what are you doing here during you're break? You should be at Slytherin house sleeping." She says.
I smile. " As good as that sounds I can't. If I were to sleep some now, I'd miss my next class and I am not getting detention because of my own carelessness. " I say.
" Fine, just make sure after dinner you go to bed early. No late meetings. You sleep. " says Hermione.
I find myself nodding. " Very well. I will. " I say.
She smiles. " Good. Now let's continue reading shall we." She says.
We started reading again. I kept smiling though. I did what she said that night and went straight to bed a hour after eating.
A week passed since then and everyday during that one hour the two of us read, talked and hung out. None of us had been meeting at midnight.
We had to rest up to focus on the two remaining tasks or what to do with the golden egg, which I still haven't figured out yet.
Spending time with her was fun. She was even more funny then I thought she was. She brought a couple muggle games.
I was hesitant at first, but they turned out to be very fun.
" Do you have wings?" Asked Hermione.
" Yes." I say.
" Do you have four legs?" She asks.
" Yes." I say.
" Do you breath fire?" She asks another question.
" Yes." I say get again.
" Are you a type of dragon?" She asks.
I smirk. " Yes."
" Are you a Hungarian Horntail?" She asks.
" You nailed it Granger. " I say.
She laughs. " Yes. That was fun." She cried.
" You know. I was real hesitant about these games because I never knew about them until now, but now that you've shown me. Their so much more fun then some of the games I learned growing up, which was few because of my father. " I say.
" You didn't play many games growing up?" She asks.
" Not really. Being a single child in a family with a reputation to keep was difficult at times. Mother and father never really had much time to do anything. If I was to play with someone, it was a house elf. " I say.
" Well that doesn't sound like fun." She says.
" It's wasn't. I mean, I grew close to the house elf though. Her name is Dixie. She is sweet, kind, fun to be around. " I say.
" Well I'm glad you have someone to be with you, even if she is a house elf. " says Hermione.
" Me too. She still keeps me company sometimes when I need someone to talk to at home. " I say. She is the first person I've told this ever.
Aside from Pansy or Blaise. They figured it out on their own and I told them the rest from then.
" If it wasn't for you're father. I would love to keep you company or contact you through letters." Says Hermione. I smiled.
" I would take you up on that offer if like you said, it wasn't for my father. " I say.
She smiled. " I must say. It's been lovely spending time with you this week. When you not hiding behind the mean words and names, you really a very sweet and nice man." She says.
Something inside of me lightens and takes pride in her compliments.
" Thank you. It feel really nice to not act like I normally do. You know Hermione. You're very smart really fun to be around. " I say.
She smiles and her cheeks turn a bit pink and she puts some of her hair behind her right ear.
" Thank you Draco. I do hope we can co to he these meetings for a while, maybe even study together once in a while " she says.
I smile. " I would love that. " I say.
She grins. She then looks behind me and waves. " Hello Pansy. " she says.
I turn to Pansy. " Hello Hermione. Draco where have you been? I've been looking for you. " she says.
" What do you mean. I've only been here for a hour. " I say.
Hermione giggles. " Sorry Draco. I didn't realize how much times had passed. It's been three hours." Says Hermione.
My eyes widen. " What?! I missed potions. I've never missed potions. " I say.
" I'm sure Professor Snape would understand you didn't mean to miss potions." Says Hermione.
" You might be right. I just can't believe it. " I say.
I stand up. " Thanks for teaching me that game. " I say offering my hand. We had been sitting on the floor.
Hermione took my hand and allowed me to help her to her feet. " You're welcome Draco. Now go. Talk to Professor Snape. " says Hermione.
" Ok. Will I meet you here tomorrow?" I ask.
She nods. " Ok good. See you later Hermione. " I say.
" Good bye Draco. " she says. I then leave with Pansy.
" What was that?" Says Pansy.
" What do you mean?" I ask.
" You and Hermione have been meeting here for one hour everyday?" She asks.
I nod. " How long has this been going on?" She asks.
" Over a week." I say.
She grins. " A week. You two were acting so friendly around each other. " she says.
" She's easy to talk to. " I say.
" Do you like her. If so, do you like her as a friend or more then that?" She asks.
" I don't know. " I say.
" Well let me know when you've made up you're mind. " she says.
I nod and together the two of us head for where Professor Snape is. My thoughts purely on Hermione. I can't get her off of my mind and to be honest. I don't think I want to.
