My name is Han Yunjin, and I am a twenty-year-old thriving woman, a romance web novelist, and the queen of the genre I adore. Ever since I can remember, my life has been brimming with great things. Romance is not just a genre to me; it is my passion, my calling, my world. My stories have gained immense popularity across the country. Though my name might not be recognized by any, my works speak for themselves.

I began my journey into writing at the tender age of fifteen. Back then, it was just a hobby, a way to express the myriad of emotions bubbling inside me. But soon, my words started to resonate with people. Readers found a piece of their hearts in my stories, and that connection catapulted me into the spotlight. I quickly gained a following, winning online competitions and earning prestigious labels like "Web Novel of the Year" and "Monthly Picks." The accolades were flattering, but the real reward was knowing that my stories touched so many lives.

But there's another side to me, a side that I consider a guilty pleasure. It's something that embarrasses me when others find out because they often label me as "obsessed." But I can't help it-it's just so cute! You see, I absolutely love BL relationships. Yes, Boys' Love. There's something indescribably beautiful about witnessing two boys in love, and it fills my heart with joy and longing.

All my life, I've been on a quest to find a real-life BL couple. I've scoured comics, novels, short stories-anything that could offer a glimpse of that pure, unfiltered love. I yearn to be a friend of the main characters, to witness their love story unfold from the sidelines. It's a fantasy that consumes me, a dream that never seems to be enough, no matter how many stories I read.

Despite my fervent search, in all the ten years I've dedicated to this quest, I haven't found a single BL couple. Not once. Not by chance. Not even in my dreams. Nowhere! It's as if the universe is conspiring against me. But I am not one to give up easily. I believe anything is possible in this world, and I am determined to find that elusive couple.

I work part-time in a cozy little café, a perfect spot to observe people and perhaps, just maybe, stumble upon the couple I've been searching for. The café is a charming place, always filled with a mix of regulars and new faces. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the soft hum of conversation create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Every day, as I serve lattes and cappuccinos, I keep my eyes peeled for any signs of affection between boys that might hint at something deeper. I imagine the shy glances, the subtle touches, and the secret smiles that could betray their hidden relationship. It's a bit like hunting for treasure, thrilling and hopeful.

So here I am, living my double life as a successful romance novelist and a devoted BL enthusiast. The search for my perfect couple continues, and I am ready to bend heaven and hell to find them. To all the cute, unknown boys in love out there, just you wait-I am coming to find you!

"Yunjin Han! Are you even paying attention? I said number four wants an iced Americano. Now," a boy snapped, breaking into her reverie.

"Ah, sorry. On it," she said, rushing to the counter to prepare the drink.

The nerve of this jerk! But this jerk is someone I have known for a long time. Songjae Woo is everyone's dream. The amount of proposals this dude gets is crazy, yet he somehow manages to stay single despite all that.

Songjae is actually a very cheery guy. He smiles so much that it makes people around him smile too. His kindness extends to everyone he meets, but it often gets misconstrued as flirting, leading many to believe he's leading them on. Get a life, people.

Songjae didn't have a difficult childhood or tough-to-understand parents. He grew up in a middle-class family that could afford some things he wanted, if not everything. Unlike me, who always had to struggle for every little thing, Songjae seemed to glide through life effortlessly. He excelled at everything he did, and that annoyed me to no end. My family constantly bragged about him as if he were their son and I was the family dog-the bad kind, like the one who sits on the couch and does nothing. It's nice when a dog does this, but for a human, it makes you sound useless.

Even academically, Songjae outshined me. He got into university with the best marks on his first try, while I had to wait for the second round of admissions to get in. It was infuriating. All in all, he's Mister Perfect with good looks that basically run in his family. Even his parents look like college students. And to top it all off, he's an only child, doted on and adored.

"Yunjin! For the last time. Focus," Songjae snapped, his voice cutting through the clatter of the busy café.

"Yes, yes, captain," Yunjin replied with a mock salute. She lifted the milk-filled jar and began her latte art, the intricate designs that had helped her secure the job at the café much more quickly than she had anticipated. Each swirl and stroke brought the image to life, making each cup a tiny canvas of its own.

Meanwhile, Songjae handled the counter and the cash register with his usual charm. His looks and amazing social skills had earned him the position, making him a favorite among the customers. He was always quick with a smile or a joke, making the bustling environment feel a bit more welcoming.

"Iced Americano with skim milk," Yunjin announced loudly. The buzzer in the customer's hand rang, signaling that his order was ready. He stood up from his seat and approached the counter.

"Can I keep the sleeve?" he asked Songjae, a silent mischievous glint in his eyes.

"No, you may not, Jongyun," Songjae replied with a sigh, though a slight smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"Oh, but why not?" Jongyun pouted, trying to look as pitiful as possible.

"Nope. Here's your order though," Songjae said firmly, handing over the iced Americano.

"Tch. Some barista you are," Jongyun grumbled, accepting his coffee with a mock glare.

"Yeah, yeah. Have a good day," Songjae replied, waving him off with a grin. The banter was familiar, a part of the daily rhythm of the café.

Seok Jongyun. Where do I even begin? Songjae and I often joke that he's like the perfect blend of our vibes, like someone took the best parts of us and mixed them into this one incredible person. He's got the looks, the brains, and the humility, all rolled into one.

Just like Songjae, Jongyun gets a ton of proposals. It's almost ridiculous how many people want to date him, but he remains single. It's not like he doesn't have options. Maybe it's because he's so focused on other things, or maybe he's just waiting for the right person.

Jongyun's family is, well, perfect. They live in this huge, luxurious house that you literally need a car to get from the gate to the front door. It's surrounded by a massive garden, and they even have a butler who looks like he stepped out of a fashion magazine. I remember the first time I saw his house. My jaw practically hit the floor. It's that impressive.

He's a pet lover, too. His dog and cat are both foreign breeds, pampered with the best of everything. Sometimes I wonder if they live better lives than we do. But Jongyun doesn't flaunt any of this. You'd never guess how wealthy he is just by talking to him.

He always has the latest gadgets, whatever's new on the market, but he doesn't show off. He's as humble as they come, which is rare for someone in his position. But don't mistake his humility for naivety. He's not dumb at all.

Jongyun's the kind of guy who's comfortable in his own company. He's often quiet, lost in his studies or playing video games by himself. Music is his escape. I've seen him listen to a song and become so engrossed that he starts crying. It's like he feels every emotion in the music so deeply. He's been shy his whole life, so he never got bullied too much. There was that one time, but we don't talk about that.

He's meticulous in taking care of himself and is arguably the most beautiful guy in our entire college. Seriously, I don't know how he does it. His skin, his hair, everything about him is just... perfect. He's exceptionally good at math, but chose to study visual arts because he's just as good with computers. It's like they come naturally to him.

Jongyun is the epitome of someone born with a silver spoon who doesn't brag about it. He's incredibly introverted, though. I remember how we met. I was five years old, playing in the park, and I saw him sitting alone, looking so lost in his own world. I went up and talked to him first. We hit it off, and soon after, I introduced him to Songjae. And that was it. The trio was born.

People at college have all sorts of nicknames for us. "The deities of beauty," "the art by Aphrodite," and my favorite, "mermaid and her two princes." There are so many names I've lost count. It's funny and flattering at the same time.

Jongyun is a regular at our favorite cafe. Every day, without fail, he's there, sitting in his favorite corner seat, working on his assignments. He always orders the same drink. He's got this quirky habit of collecting cup sleeves. His parents think it's a bit much and want him to stop, so Songjae and I are trying to help him cut down. But it's not easy. He's pretty attached to them.

Songjae, of course, is hard on him about it. But that's just how he is. Tough love, you know?

That's us. The trio. Through thick and thin, we've got each other's backs.

"Oy! Yunjin! Where is the bubble tea?" Songjae called out, glaring at her from the corner of his eyes.

"Ah... haha... on it, boss..." Yunjin replied with a nervous laugh, rushing to get the order ready.

As the evening slowly began turning into night, it was time to close the cafe and end their shift for the day. Songjae untied his apron, letting out a sigh. "Today was so busy too."

"I'm telling you, we are never not busy," Yunjin said, yawning.

"Yeah. I'll close today. Did you check the back room yet?" Songjae asked.

"No. I'll count the stock and get the last of the dishes done. You go with the register," Yunjin suggested.

"Alright, let's do that," Songjae agreed.

"You both are always so busy," Jongyun finally said in his usual soft, low tone. His voice was so endearing that Yunjin cheered for him to stay that way in her heart, grinning ear to ear.

Jongyun walked in behind the counter, his presence calm and gentle. He began counting the cash in the register, taking the workload off of Songjae.

"Thanks. Why don't you work here with us?" Songjae asked.

"No," Jongyun replied simply, continuing with the task.

You see, me and Songjae have asked Jongyun to join us as a part-timer at this cafe a million times. It just makes sense to us. He's so good at the register, and we thought that if we worked together, we could split the workload, making it a win-win for all of us.

But Jongyun just doesn't budge. Every time we bring it up, he gives us this shy smile and says something about not having enough "me time" or "assignment time." It's like he's got this elaborate schedule in his head that doesn't allow for any extra commitments.

"You have to loosen those walls. We can have so much more time together if you work here, you know," Yunjin said, making yet another attempt to recruit her friend into the business.

"No," Jongyun replied firmly. He then wrote down the amount he calculated on the small notepad next to the register, his focus unwavering.

Jongyun moved towards the sink and began washing the cups. Yunjin, feeling slightly embarrassed, hurried over. "I-- I will do that," she stammered.

"Check the stock," Jongyun said without turning around.

"Ah- ah. Okay," Yunjin replied, a little flustered.

As she hurried inside, she muttered to herself, "His voice is just so cute... argh! I'll lose my mind," and let out a small squeal.

After a long, continuous two hours even after closing for the day, they finally got their break. Jongyun whipped up three quick cups of hot coffee with soft milk and cream, placing the tray with the cups on the nearest table.

Yunjin came out of the back room, slouching, and plopped into a seat at the table where the cups were placed. The back room had two other doors, labeled 'Men's Changing' and 'Women's Changing.' Songjae disappeared into the men's changing room, reemerging moments later in his red sweatsuit. He joined Yunjin on the couch, letting out a content sigh as he did so.

Songjae picked up his favorite cup, which Jongyun had thoughtfully filled with coffee, and took a sip. He glanced over at Yunjin, who was smiling. Jongyun had also remembered her favorite cup and poured coffee into it for her as well.

Jongyun was like our personal barista and chef. After closing time, both Songjae and I would relax with the cakes and coffee Jongyun quickly whipped up for us. It was our little reward after a long, hectic day at the cafe.

We're childhood friends, the three of us. But as the trio that we are, we always manage to create a link between us. When we were kids, our playground was our link. As toddlers, our families became that link. In school, our assignments became our link. And now, our part-time jobs are our link. This link ties us together, ensuring we stay in each other's lives even when we're too busy to meet or talk otherwise.

Me, Songjae, and Jongyun share a world. A small, little world with just us in it. But this world is only activated outside of college. When prying eyes aren't upon us. Inside college, the three of us go our own separate ways, each immersed in our own Mr. Perfect and Ms. Perfect worlds with our respective groups of friends that we formed at the beginning of the semester.

The trio came into the picture because of our looks and good personalities. But the entire college has no idea that we're actually really good friends, and we keep it that way. Our world shuts its doors as soon as we step foot on campus and opens again when we go home or to our part-time jobs.

"Yunjin. How's the story going?" Songjae asked, his voice curious as he looked up from his coffee.

"Hm? Oh yeah. Block," Yunjin replied, her expression one of mild frustration.

Songjae raised an eyebrow. "Oh... will you ever reveal yourself to the world? As a writer?" he then asked, a hint of teasing in his tone.

"Nope. It's fun to be anonymous. That way I can simp my own stories and no one would know," Yunjin said with a mischievous grin.

"Sure, you do that," Songjae said, shaking his head with a chuckle. "How's work for you, Jongyun?"

Jongyun, who had been quietly sipping his coffee, looked up slowly. "After you both quit the library, there was an overload of things. But me and the new worker are managing," he replied in his usual soft-spoken manner.

"Today," Yunjin began, leaning forward slightly, "I met this girl who wanted to join our group of friends."

"Okay?" Songjae prompted, his interest piqued.

"She called me her idol-" Yunjin continued.

"What? Is she blind?!" Songjae burst out laughing, almost spilling his coffee.

"Gosh, shut up," Yunjin said, scratching her cheek with her little finger, a faint blush spreading across her face.

On campus, my fashion sense is top-notch. I take care of my looks a lot, meticulously picking out outfits that turn heads and maintaining an image that exudes confidence and style. People always compliment me on how I look, and I thrive on it. I guess you could say that looking my best is my way of feeling my best.

But outside of college, it's a completely different story. I let go of everything. I roam around in sweats, my hair thrown up in a messy bun, and, yes, pulling out boogers. It's not gross, you've gotta do that to have a clean nose. Anyway, I don't look horrendous-this isn't a comic strip-but I do look like I don't care at all.

This drastic change in my appearance gives Songjae endless amusement. That jerk laughs at me like a loud, snorting pig every chance he gets. One time, we were at the cafe after a long day at college. I had already changed into my comfy clothes: an oversized sweatshirt, baggy sweatpants, and my hair was up in its usual post-college messy bun and this dude appeared and started laughing so loudly that people outside started taking peeks inside through the window just to take a look at me - the laughing stock.

"What did you say to her then?" Jongyun asked, looking up from his coffee with a curious expression.

"Thanks. You are so much better than this good-for-nothing," Yunjin said, playfully hitting Songjae on the arm.

"Haha. So what did you say?" Songjae asked, finally managing to hold in his laughter as much as he could.

"Sheesh. I told her, politely actually, that she can be our friend. She doesn't need to act like I'm her god. But she bowed down so low her head almost touched the ground," Yunjin recounted, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Oh," Jongyun replied, his soft voice tinged with amusement.

"And you know what, Songjae? Today, again, all the girls in my class asked me if I have ever spoken to you two. They were talking about all that royal highnesses talking together," Yunjin said, rolling her eyes at the memory.

Songjae grinned widely, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "But isn't this double life fun?" he said immediately.

True, the trio started this double life because it influenced us. Be your own star they say. We wanted to experience firsthand what it felt like to be looked up to so much and at the same time not looked up to much. The contrast was thrilling, like living a spy life or something. But sometimes it's just tiring. We've invested so much into this facade that it's too late to back down now.

Yet, despite the exhaustion, there's a certain excitement in maintaining this secret. We promised each other that after we graduate, we'll throw away this facade. We'll show people that we are friends, whether our families like it or not. The thought of that day always brings a smile to my face.

Our families...yeah. We had the perfect life, alright. Not too much trouble. But for some reason, our families forbade us from telling people we were childhood friends. This gave us the double life idea in the first place. We don't know why we shouldn't disclose this, and after some time, we just didn't bother anymore.

Sometimes, late at night, I think about the reasons behind our parents' decision. It's a mystery that's always lingered at the back of my mind. Were they trying to protect us from something? Or was it just an arbitrary rule they set for reasons we couldn't understand as kids? Whatever the reason, we adapted and turned it into this elaborate game of secrecy and revelation.

Living this way has its ups and downs. On campus, I'm Yunjin, the fashion icon who turns heads and draws admiration. But outside college, I let go of everything.

Songjae and Jongyun are the only ones who see both sides of me. Songjae gets a kick out of it, laughing at my casual look like a loud, snorting pig. It's annoying, but also comforting in a way. His laughter is a reminder that I don't have to be perfect around him. Jongyun, on the other hand, is always gentle and understanding. He never judges, just quietly supports me in his own way.

Our double life isn't just about appearances. It's about the deeper bond we share. On campus, we each have our own circles and maintain our own separate identities. But outside, in our secret world, we are a trio-inseparable and deeply connected. This bond is what keeps us going, what makes all the effort worth it.

"Let's go home," Jongyun said, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled over them.

"Yeah. Final clean up and we'll leave," Yunjin replied, standing up and stretching. They moved efficiently, cleaning up the remaining cups and the table, closing all the windows and the back room doors. Finally, they shut the cafe, making sure everything was secure for the night.

"It's so cold out," Yunjin said, rubbing her hands together and breathing into her muffler to warm herself. Jongyun nodded, shoving his hands into the pockets of his long, brown coat to ward off the chill.

Songjae swung his hockey kit over his shoulder and walked ahead, followed by his two shivering friends. As they made their way down the dimly lit street, Yunjin suddenly pointed to an open stall. "Oh look. Kimchi."

"Let's just have a bite, okay?" she said, already skipping across the road toward the stall before the boys could even reply.

"Ugh. Wait up," Songjae said, rolling his eyes but smiling as he grabbed Jongyun by the arm and led him across the street.

At the stall, they ordered three plates of kimchi with soda. The warm, spicy food was a welcome comfort against the cold night, and they ate quickly, enjoying the familiar flavors. The vendor, a kindly old woman, chatted with them as she served, her breath visible in the frosty air.

"Thank you," Yunjin said, handing back the empty plates with a bright smile.

"Take care, dears," the vendor replied with a wave as they headed back toward the crossroad that marked the point where they would part ways.

"Bye, guys," Yunjin said, waving as she walked ahead toward her house, which was the closest.

Songjae and Jongyun watched her go, then resumed walking together in silence for a while. Finally, Songjae broke the quiet. "She is struggling to finish that story," he said, glancing at Jongyun.

Jongyun nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Yeah," he agreed.

"...Did you read the latest chapter?" Songjae asked, looking over at Jongyun. He nodded again.

"It was...nice," Songjae sighed, a hint of a forced smile playing on his lips.

"Yeah," Jongyun echoed, his voice soft.

They reached the second crossroads, the one that separated the paths to their respective homes. Songjae paused, looking at Jongyun with a small smile. "...then goodbye for today."

Jongyun nodded once more. "Goodbye," he said, then turned and walked past to the other side, his figure gradually blending into the shadows of the quiet street.

Songjae watched him go, feeling a mix of rage and sadness. "Wow," he muttered to himself bitterly, the night air biting at his skin.

After they all reached home, Yunjin lay on her bed in her room, phone on speaker next to her right arm as she diligently painted her nails. She dialed Songjae, seeking a connection for confirmation.

"You reached yet?" Yunjin asked, her voice echoing softly in the room.

"Yeah," Songjae replied from his own room, the sound of papers rustling indicating he was likely working on an assignment at his work table.

"What's wrong?" Yunjin inquired, sensing something amiss in Songjae's tone.

"What do you think, Yunjin? It's so hard to talk to Jongyun. You force us to be friends, but you are our connecting link. When you are not there, that dude doesn't even glance at me, let alone strike a conversation," Songjae lamented, his frustration palpable through the phone.

Yunjin sighed, understanding his predicament. "Aw, that makes you upset?" she asked sympathetically.

"It makes things awkward," Songjae admitted, his voice tinged with frustration.

"I know. I get it. But I can't help it, Song. He opened up to me the day I saved him in the park. But you..." Yunjin trailed off, feeling guilty for the divide between her two friends.

"So then what? If nothing drastic happens, he'll never talk to me?" Songjae's frustration was evident in his tone.

"Come on. Give it some time-" Yunjin began, trying to offer some comfort.

"It's been fifteen years, Yunjin. I am not doing this anymore. It's nice when it's just me and you. Goodnight," Songjae interrupted abruptly, his tone final.

"S-songjae! Song! Hey! Hello?" Yunjin's voice rose in panic as she realized Songjae had hung up on her. "That absolute jerk!" She slammed the phone's screen shut in frustration.

"Ugh. It's so hard to be Wednesday, god," Yunjin muttered to herself, feeling the weight of her friends' tensions weighing heavily on her shoulders. She lay back on her bed, her mind swirling with thoughts of how to mend the growing rift between Songjae and Jongyun.
