Chapter 7

After five days of being here, my things from New York came. I looked up at the big moving truck. Did he really have to pay to get all my things across the country? I don't even know how long I'm going to be here for yet everything I owned was in this truck.

The truck driver starts walking my walk with a clipboard in his hands. He has a crew cut blond hair and piercing green eyes, he had strong Atlas shoulders and he definitely had a good six pack under his red plaid shirt.

"Ma'am you have to sign this." He handed the clipboard to me then took the pen from his breast pocket.

I look down at the receipt and sign.

"I'm happy you guys brought my things here from New York but why did you bring everything?"

"Ma'am we just get a call and we do whatever the person on the other lines says, you should ask the person who made the payment." I raised my brows, why would Alexander tell them to bring everything I own. There Is no way in hell that all my things could fit in my new room.

"Ma'am you don't have to worry," he said when he noticed the look on my face. "All you have to do is take out what you need, and we'll keep the rest of the things in our storage."

"You can do that?" I lifted my head to look up at him.

"Yes, Ma'am. All you have to do is follow us after you take out what you want, and we'll bring you to the storage area we have here in Los Angeles." I seemed like a good plan.

"Okay, but how will I know what-is-what?" I looked at open truck, showing my things in boxes then back at him

"Easy, Ma'am. We label the boxes. All you have to do is tell me what you want, and Abdul and I will get it for you." He answered pointing over to his partner. Abdul was wearing a blue shirt with the company logo on it, he had a smooth, well-shaped beard and a bristly moustache.

"Okay, sounds like a plan." I rub my heads together and then start thinking of things I'll need. Since there wasn't much to be done here I needed something to keep me occupied. "I have a box of painting things, it has paintbrushes and paints in it. I'll need that." Pausing to think again I looked over to the truck. "That's the only thing I can think of now."

"That's okay, Ma'am the storage warehouse is thirty minutes from here. You can come by anytime. We open at 7 am and close at 5 pm."

"Okay, perfect. That sounds like a plan."

"Great, I'm going to look for the box and you can start getting ready." I nod my head and he starts moving towards the truck.

If I'm going to follow them to the Storage Warehouse, I needed to go get Henrique. I didn't him waking up and I'm not there to give him comfort.

I walked back into the house and head towards the stairs. Henry had me wrapped around his little fingers. His smile my heart surge with pride. I was completely in love with him, but I also couldn't wait to prove that he isn't mine. I wanted them to see, I'm not the bad girl they think of me. I'm tired of being my sister's keeper. When she made foolish mistakes, I'm the one who has to suffer.

I pushed open the nursery and Henrique was in his crib sleeping peacefully. I smile at him and walked over. I gently lift him, placing his tiny head on my shoulders while I wrap my right hand under his butt. When he was securely in my hands, I left the room and then went back downstairs to the truck.

Thank god, Ms. Wilson wasn't here. She probably starts acting liked she own the place again.

"Here is the box," Abdul said, his hands hugging the box to him.

"Thank you. I can't take it from you since I have the baby in my hands, but I can tell you where to put it."

"Where would you like it to go Miss?" I didn't answer the question immediately. I didn't want him to just rest it inside because if Ms. Wilson came back before I did, she will start searching my things and I didn't want her all up in my business. I didn't want to leave it out here either because the gardener might do the same things.

"My bedroom." Trusting him, I told him the direction of my bedroom.

When Abdul was gone I turn to his partner whose name I'm yet to know. "You didn't tell me your name."

He smiled showing his teeth, "Oh, sorry. I'm Wade O'Connor." He pushed out his hands for me to shake. Taking my right hands-off Henrique's back, I shook it.

"So, this business Is yours then?" The name on the truck was 'O'Connor's Moving and Rentals. If he was the boss, it explained why he was in the plaid shirt and not a business shirt like Abdul.

"It' a family business, yes." I smiled at him then look down at his hand. This was a bad habit I have to look down at a handsome man's finger to see if there is a ring.

  And Bingo!

He did. He was wearing a silver or white goal wedding band. I couldn't tell the difference.

"That's great. Is there any place in the truck for me and Henrique?" I asked since I will be travelling with them to the Warehouse.

He raised his brows at me. So, I continued. "My driver's license is expired so I can't drive, and I don't even have a car. So, I was thinking I could come with you guys."

"Oh," he scratches the back of his head uncertain. "Yea, we have a seat behind the passenger seat you and the baby can sit there."

I smiled at him. "Great. How will I get back here?"

"I'll have one of the workers drop you back if that's okay?"

Abdul was coming through the door, so I quickly nod.

  "Yes, let's get going."

...................

This was the first time I left the mansion since I arrived, and it was great. I got to see other parts of the town and more beautiful houses. We currently driving back to the Mansion with Ugo who insisted on giving me a tour when I told him I was from New York. It was now close to 4 pm which meant I was gone for a good 6 hours.

Turning to Ugo I said. "You sure, you won't get fired?"

He laughs, "No, I won't get fired." he assured.

"Are you sure?" I looked at the younger guy with worried eyes.

"My father can't fire me, especially since he isn't paying me."

"You're Wade's son?" I asked curiously. Wade didn't look that old, but I guess his handsomeness covered it up.

He crackled, "Hell No, that duffus is my older brother."

Ah, I see. They did look strikenly similar.

"We're here." Looking ahead, I noticed the front gate which was close.

"Okay, you can stop at the gate, I'll walk it in."

"You sure?" he said looking at me.

"Yea, It's not a problem." The only problem was I had no idea how the hell am I going to get in. I was the one to open it for the truck when I saw them through my window.

He drove up to the gate then turn around facing the direction he was coming from. I turn to him a smile. "Thanks a lot Ugo. It means a lot to me that you showed me around."

He grinned, "No problem. It's not like I had anything important to do and who would miss driving a beautiful woman around? Not me."

I smiled at the eighteen-year-old and unhook my seatbelt. I opened the passenger door and exit the car. Then I went to the back door and opened to the door.

Sleeping Henrique was in the baby car seat that Wade had insist I carry. I gently took him out of the seat. I turn my head to Ugo and smile.

"Thank you so much." I close the back door.

Ugo nod his head then drove off.

I turned around and walked to the gate with Henrique securely in my arms. I pressed the intercom that was at the side.

"Hello." Ms. Wilson voice came out through the intercom.

Thank god, she was home.

"Hey, It's me Kalliyah. Can you open the gate please?"

She muttered something, but I wasn't able hear, it seemed as if she was talking to someone else. She shut off her connection with me and the gate started to open.

I walked in then slowly walked my way up to the house.

The door was opened so I walked in. When I reach the hall, two very angry person was looking at me.

"Where the hell were you?" Alexander shouted. "You think you can run off with him, ugh?" He was in his regular attire, suit and tie and a gentleman.

I sighed as I looked between the master and his servant.

"If I wanted to run off with Henrique, I wouldn't have come back here of all places." I said truthfully. I can't believe they thought I had runway with Henrique. I didn't even bring anything with me. I left all my things and documents here.

How very foolish of them!

"Where the hell have you been? You left the house and not even a message, what do except Ms. Wilson to think?" I looked at him with my brows raised. I don't give a damn to what Ms. Wilson thinks, he of all person should know that. "I was in a very very important meeting and I had to leave because you ran away with the baby who is supposed to be your sister's and not yours."

Here we go again.

"If you must know, the truck with my things came and I went with them to the Warehouse and then I had a tour of the town." I looked down at the baby in my hand who was starting to stir. "Your brother is completely fine. In fact, he enjoyed the little tour very much. You see, like regular humans we don't like to be caged in and for the last time, I am not Henrique's mother for Christ sakes."

"You were gone for hours."

"We stopped at a café."

"Never do that again!"

"What exactly? The going out or the going out and not leaving a note?"

"Both!"

I looked at him furiously. "You can't stop me from leaving and going out if I want to. I'm not trying to steal your brother away. Think about it this way, if I was his mother who left him in an office because I didn't want him, why the hell would I want his now, ugh? I'm not his mother, you said you're going to make the appointment for the DNA test, make it. You'll see that I'm not lying and I'm just as I said, his aunt."

"Fine! But you don't get to leave here before that test is gone. If the test proved that you're not his mother, you can go anywhere with him."

Ms. Wilson made a sound so we both turn to look at her.

"Did you say something, Ms. Wilson?" Alexander asked the older woman.

"No, not at all, Mr. Carter."

Turning back to me, his face a little calmer. "If you want to have fun, there are two pools here, use them." He turns around leaving me with his maid. She shakes her head at me then waked briskly behind her boss.

I rolled my eyes when the pair left. I was now the prisoner of the house until a DNA test could prove that I wasn't Henry's mom.

What he even meant when he said there was two pools? I only saw one and it was at the back attached to the garden.

Shaking my head, I start walking to the kitchen.

There was so much to learn about this mansion and he just granted me permission to find out more. As of tomorrow, I'll doing a full tour of the mansion. At first, I thought it would be bad manners to search through a person's place but now since I'm a prisoner to it, I might as well try to know more about my cage.

I open the fridge and take out Henrique's mashed potatoes and bottle. He was gonna wake any minute now and to avoid all the tears, I had make sure the first thing he see is plate of food in front of him.

Henrique was a real sweetheart. Why couldn't his brother be just as sweet?
