Chapter 19

"I'll stay, I'll be your girlfriend"

I smiled at the memory. Who would have taught the wallflower twin would have a boyfriend after the last experience he had with one. But I gave it. Alexander was different, I could feel it and every day he showed it like right this moment.

My eyes were completely dark to the world since it was covered with a dark blue kerchief. I still can't believe he placed it over my eyes. Where was he taking me? How big of a surprise is it? Would It be better than the night we shared on the yacht?

Currently seated in the passenger seat of one of his cars, I could hear the other cars passing by, feel the stops we made at the light and the turns we took but I had no idea where we were going.

Was he taking me to the movies?

He wouldn't blindfold me for something as simple as a big screen. But who knew? He was full of surprises and I'm like a child on Christmas morning. Way too excited to open my present, in this case way too excited about where we're going on our second date.

I've been so happy. I still can't believe he asked me to stay and be his girlfriend. It was the best feeling ever. I'm so happy because after getting to know Henrique I really wanted to stay and be apart of his life and now I will be staying.

Alexander is a good man and he deserves a chance. It's not like I can say no to him anyways. I'm in love with him.

 Crazy in love with him.

"Hey, what are you thinking about?" I heard Alexander said, he placed his hands on my thigh, at first I tensed up but I knew he wouldn't do anything to make me feel uncomfortable so I calmed down. We are taking things slowly even though I was already in love with him. I'm just waiting until he feels the same. After what he was the other day, maybe he did.

"Uh, I'm okay. I'm curious where to where you're taking me." I wasn't curious, Anxiety was killing me and the thought of not seeing where I'm going or what's happening around me is driving me crazy.

"Well, you'll know in a minute because we're here," I replied as the car slowed down and he started to park. He took the key out of the engine. He opened his door and exist the car, closing it behind him. After a few moments, the door on my side was pulled open. I pushed my way out of the car and all I could hear is noise, lots of noise.

I frowned. Were we at a stadium? A party?

Alexander came behind me to take off the blindfold. "Don't open your eyes yet." He took off the kerchief and I obeyed him by keeping my eyes close even though I really wanted to open it.  He placed his hands over my eyes and then started counting, "ONE, TWO. OPEN."

He released his hands from my face. When I opened my eyes I took me a while to get used to the colours and the lighting but when my eyes adjected I looked around me I was shocked. This was the last thing I was expecting. I was expecting a candlelit dinner until the moon but this was the opposite.

"An amusement park," I chortle excitedly. The last time I was at a carnival was when I was in college and that was years ago. I turned and wrapped my arms around him. " THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU." He laughed and I left the vibration of his chest beneath mine.

"I guess, you like it then," he observed.

"Like it? I love it. This is the best date ever." I giggled at him.

"You're welcome. Come let's join the line and buy the tickets."

We walked to a long line but after a few minutes of standing in the line that was barely moving  Alex looked irritable so he turned to me. "Stay right here, I'll be back." He left me at the back of the line as he made his way to the top.

I had no idea what his plans were but I saw him talking to one of the cashiers. The man laughed and then they shook hands.  Alex started walking back to me and when he reached,  he tugged my hands lightly and tell me to come with him.

The next thing I know, we were at the front of the line with Alex ordering the tickets. I guess, this some of the perks of being rich. I looked behind me and saw that some of the other customers weren't happy at all. They were sending us glares. I guess some them didn't like what just happened and I'd be like them too if someone just came and was getting served first just because he was rich.

I sighed I guess no matter how rich you are, they are going to be ups and downs. After Alex got the ticket, he put his hands around my waist and we start walking away from the line.

"Which ride do you wanna go first?" Alex asked breaking the silence.

"I want to go on the Carousel, first." I said smiling up at him.

He looked at me with raised brows. "How old are you again?" he asked rhetorically but I felt like answering so I did.

"Six."

He looked in my eyes and smile. "I believe you." He ruffled my hair and then started to look in the direction of the Carousel. Who said Carousel is only for children? Adults deserve to ride on plastics ponies too.

The line for the Carousel wasn't long so we were on the next round.  I laughed as I placed my legs over the pony and straddle him. Alexander did the same from beside me. I laughed when the Carousel started to around and up at the same it was fun and I loved every childish moment of it.

We went on a few more rides like the Roller Coaster,  Bumper Car, Scary Room, The picture booth and the Ferris Wheel.

We even tired hampering and basketball but he still hasn't won me anything. I never had someone care enough to win be anything and so I wanted him to be the first.

"Alex, you haven't won me anything as yet," I said pouting. I placed my cotton candy in my mouth and let it melt. After years of hard work, I finally got to be the childish adult that my heart had been craving for.

He looked at me and smiled "Okay, let's win you a teddy bear." His hands when now enlaced in mine. We walked over to a man who was advertising his product. He had bottles. The person who is able to make the 20 hoops around the bottle win a stuffed animal.

I was so excited to see Alexander do this. This was one of the hardest games here and it was obviously because the man still had so many teddy bears left.

"Young, man win a prize for your wife." The man that looked around forty-five said. He wore a blue plaid shirt and dark jeans. He had a bald patch in the centre of his head. He was quite a sight to look at. His blue eyes might him a looker, probably was a player back in the days.

"Oh, he's ...." I was about to tell the man that Alexander wasn't my husband but my boyfriend but Alexander cut me off.

"Give me 40 hoops please, here are the tickets. I'm going to win my girl a teddy bear." I smile at his word choice, he called me his girl. It was a  little possessive but I loved it. I was never anyone's girl before.

Alexander released me from his arms and then start playing. He lifted his hands and started throwing the hoops around the bottles.  I was shocked when I saw how good at this game he was. When the forty hoops where finished I looked at him with awe.

That was amazing, he didn't even miss one bottle. He was good. The man reluctantly placed a big blue bear in my hands. I hugged him close to me.

"Your name is Blue," I said to the teddy bear. I wasn't paying Alex any attention, all my attention was on my new teddy bear.

"You're so weird," Alex said.

"I know but you like me," I replied, he didn't answer immediately but when he did his voice was rough.

"I do."

...............................

I smiled as I snuggled closer to Alex. We were both on the couch watching my favourite movie, The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I loved this movie, no matter who much time I watch it I'd always end up crying, laughing and smiling. The movie reached the part where they were going to his parents' house. Ryan touched Sandra's butt and she slapped his hands off.

I felt Alexander put his hands on mine. I jumped, that was awkward. I glared at him. he held his hands up, maybe showing he was surrendering. I smiled at him and then laid back down. We continued watching the movie until it ended and of course I have tears in my eyes after Ryan's speech. It was so romantic and the way they kissed was so magical.

Sensing   Alexander's eyes on me so I turned and looked at him. He was smiling so I returned his smile. He leaned in to kiss me and I reached him halfway. When our lips touched butterflies erupted in my stomach, cliché, but it was true. This is what love felt like. Sometimes butterflies couldn't compare to the zoo I feel when I look at him.

We continued kissing until Alex pulled apart.

"Let us get some ice cream and talk." He suggested. He took my hands and pulled me up from the couch. He held my hands and we walked to the kitchen. He sat me on the stool around the island. He walked over to the fridge and took out the bucket of ice cream, he smiled at me. He took out two big bowls and started to place ice cream in them. When he was finished he placed the ice cream back in the fridge then came back to the island.

"Come we are going to the fireside."We walked to the living room. He gave me his ice-cream then he went for a blanket in the nearby closet then spread it on the ground. We sat down on the blanket and then he pulled me in his lap and we started eating our ice cream in silence.

After remembering something I turned to look at Alexander who had his eyes looking in the fire, his thoughts far away. "Alex," I patted his shoulder to get his attention. When he was looking at me, I continued talking. "When was the last time you spoke to Ms Wilson? Is she okay? How is she holding up? When is the funeral?" I bombarded him with questions about his housekeeper.

He looked at me with a sad smile. "I spoke to her yesterday. She said she's okay and the funeral is in a week time."

I gave him a said smile and said. "I'm happy that she's okay."

"It's funny how you are asking about Ms Wilson and you know she doesn't really like you a lot." He stated, he was telling the truth. Ms. Wilson although she had calm down, I knew she still disliked me.

"Well, my father told me I should never treat people the way they treat me. I guess I ignore the fact that she thinks I'm a fool and probably a lot more things because it's not important. The only thing that was important was for me to take care of Henrique and I did my best doing it."

"Is that the only think important now? You taking care of Henrique?" he asked me. I looked up at him and smile. Knowing exactly what he was asking.

"No, there is this brown-eyed god I just can't get out of my head," I stated with a smirk on my face.

"Really? I'm jealous of him," He said trying to hide his smile but he was failing miserably.

"You should be. He has the cutest dimples I've ever seen and his kisses. Hmm.. his kisses taste like chocolate. They are so sweet. Some great kisses."

"So, you think I'm a great kisser." He was smirking.

"I never said that. I said he is a good kisser, who said you were him. There are many brown-eyed men on earth."

He rolled his eyes. "Right" he said sarcastically.

"Yep."

A comfortable silence followed after I said yep. After eating our ice cream He went to the kitchen to wash the bowls. I sat and enjoyed the heat of the fire and when he came back he lifted me up in bridal style and brought me up to my room. He placed me on my foot when we reached my door. He leaned in and kiss me slowly until we both out of breath. He leaned his forehead on mine and looked in my eyes. It amazed me how much can be said over silence. Actions were indeed louder than words because even though I knew Alex hasn't told me he loved me, I knew somewhere in his heart, he does.

He loves me. I know it and I can feel it.

He was about to let me go but I stopped him.

"Sleep with me,"
