Chapter 17
The drive to the destination of the date wasn't bad even though we were both silent for all twenty add minutes. The silence was awkward either, we both had things on our mind. I was trying to focus on the surrounding since I still wasn't familiar with this city or this county. I was surprised to see Alexander pull him in a parking lot, but it wasn't a regular parking spot. Ahead there were many lights, I couldn't exactly pin out where we were.
I turn to look at Alexander confused.
Where the hell were we?
It seemed as if he understood my facial expression because he smiled. He took out of his seat belt and opened his door and came over to my side. He opened my door for me.
I flash him a smile and exit the car.
What a gentleman!
"I hope you're not afraid of a little walk." He said looking down at my heels.
I laughed then shrug. The walk couldn't be that long to make my foot hurt.
He clasped our hands together and pulled us in the direction of the lights. After a few minutes, I started to realize where we were. There were hundreds of boat and yachts lined in at the pier.
I turn to look Alexander with a smile and raised brows, but he just grinned without looking directly at me.
We walked on a pathway that led to at a ship, I keep looking at Alexander for some confirmation to see if we were going on that ship, but he ignored me, intentionally.
When we reached the ship I noticed its name at the side.
Alexandria
My middle name.
I looked up at Alexander who had stopped walking.
I shook my head he couldn't possibly know my middle name.
"Whose is it?" I asked without talking my off the beauty that was ahead.
"Mine." He held my hand tighter and started to pull us to the steps that lead up to ship.
"Alexandria is my middle name. You didn't buy this for me, did you?" I said trying to joke around.
I laughed and shook his head, "As good as that might have sounded, unfortunately, I bought this about three years ago before I met you."
I looked at the ship, it was white and had gold lining around the edges. It was so clean and shiny that I could see my blurry reflection on it.
"Why Alexandria?"
"My name is Alexander and this ship is my baby, so I call it Alexandria."
I laughed, "Of course. How didn't I pick that up?"
We were on the ship now. I couldn't help but notice who beautiful it was. He walked us over to a candlelit table. He pulled out the chair for me and I sat thanking him. He took his place in front of me.
There was no food just a big covered plater.
"This is beautiful. You sure know how to woo a girl." I said gesturing to the candles and the single red rose in front of her. "A dinner under the moonlight on a big beautiful boat or ship whichever it is."
He smiled, "Are you wooed?"
I nodded my head, "Consider me wooed. Thank you." I grinned like a teenager and take up the rose to smell it.
"You're welcome. Dinner won't be ready until seven, so we have twenty minutes to talk." He looked up from his watch with a smile.
A dimple.
How didn't I see that before now?
"So, what do you want to talk about?" he asked.
I shrug, "I don't know, why don't you choose a topic."
"Twenty questions?" he suggested.
I smiled. "You start."
"Okay. What's your most favourite place in the world?"
I took a few seconds to think about it before answering. I never really go anywhere. I never had the time to go places, but I remember one trip. "My second year in college, that summer my friends and I went on a cruise to Hawaii and it's the most beautiful place I've ever been. The islands are just breathtaking. If I had to choose, I think Hawaii would be my choice. What about you?"
"Hawaii is nice, I've been there a few times on vacation and business but my favourite place in the world would be Paris, France." He said.
"Awe that's romantic. Let me guess you love seeing the Eiffel Tower and going to romantic places."
He grinned, "That's one of the reasons of course but not the main one. I love France because of the wine and the cheese. The atmosphere of the country is just great, maybe it's all the cheese and wine, but I just love it!
"Oh" was all I could say.
"It's your turn," he told me.
I rub my chin thinking of a question to ask. "What's your favourite food?"
"Honestly, I have so many, but I'll go with Baked Ham. Yours?"
Without thinking I expressed my love, "Seafood. I mean I love seafood, I crave seafood. The parrotfish is delish and lobsters, mouthwatering." I rant about my love for seafood while Alex just stared at me and smile. "Why are you smiling?"
"Well, for a fact watching you go crazy for food Is funny."
I bent my head hiding my blush.
Then lifted my head to say, "Really? That's why you're smiling?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"That's not the only reason though."
"Then what?" I asked.
"I ordered seafood for dinner. Lobster and fried shrimp with pasta and fries and a salad."
"You didn't," I said getting excited.
Alex nodded, "I was going to wait and surprise you but seeing your face light up now is so much better."
A big smile came on my face. "I haven't eaten seafood in ages. This is so sweet. I'm going to eat seafood by the seaside."
"You're welcome."
I looked up at him. "I didn't say thank you yet."
"But you're going to so I'm telling you earlier."
I smiled. "Next question, it's yours to ask."
"You're beautiful."
I blushed and turned my gaze to the beautiful view of the sea. I smile. Who would have taught that I'd be on a ship having a romantic date with the sweetest man alive?
After three years of my life in sorrow, this was a nice change.
I great change that I hope is permanent and not temporary like everything else in my life.
We continued talking until our food came. My mouth went watery as soon as I saw the Lobster, god! I love seafood. We spoke while we were eating. He gave me jokes and made me laugh. The dinner was like a dream come true. It was wonderful. We drove back home in a comfortable silence listening to country music.
We slowly made our way up the stairs, slowly because I didn't want the perfect date to end just yet. I stopped to open my door and noticed Alex was right behind me. I turned around to look at him.
"Why aren't you going to your room?" I asked him with my brows raised. I didn't want to sound rude but I guess I might have.
"I wouldn't be a gentleman if after a date I didn't drop the lady at her door." He said with a smirk.
I grinned at him, "Gentleman you are." I place my hands on his shoulder, "Thanks for dinner. It was beautiful. Officially my best date ever. If you want, we should do it again sometime." I blushed, did I really just initiate for a future date. I sounded like a school girl.
I smiled at him, "Goodnight then." I turn around to open my door, but Alexander placed his hands on my shoulder to stop me.
"Not so fast." He said turning me to face him. "I told I'm a gentleman."
Before I could ask what, he meant he crashed his lips on mine. My eyes closing automatically, and my lips responded immediately. I opened my mouth and he let his tongues slipped in. I went on my tippy toes and then place my hands around his neck deepening the kiss. When I moaned, he smiled and deepened it the kiss.
Who knew kisses could be so intense?
After a while we both ran out of oxygen, so he pulled back.
"Now that's how you saw a goodnight." With that, he started walking over to his section of the house leaving me looking at his back.
I sighed and entered my room.
I took off my dress, brushed my teeth and went to bed.
And of course, I didn't fall asleep until hours since the kiss kept playing in my head.
........
It was around six in the morning. None of the workers had arrived yet and Henrique and Alexander were still asleep.
I couldn't stay in bed, so I decided to start making breakfast to keep my mind off a specific person and his kiss.
I kept waking up in the night and it was all because of one person that wasn't leaving my mind.
I didn't understand what was happening to me. I am the feisty girl that lets no one in. I am a girl with great comebacks and sassy remarks. I am the girl who suffered depression because of her family's betrayal.
But who am I now?
I was letting Alexander mend my broken heart and all the rules that I had created over three years suddenly didn't matter.
I was responding to his kisses, his jokes, laugh.
I was falling in love with Alexander.
And I couldn't help myself.
He was the only thing on my mind. Sometimes I forget the main reason I was even here.
To take care of my sister's abandoned baby, Henrique.
I was falling hard and I wasn't sure if he was going to be at the end of the mountain to catch me.
Alexander is a good man, isn't he?
He wouldn't hurt me, right?
Not like Alliyah.
I was so lost in my thought that I didn't feel anyone coming close to me until I felt Alexander's hand around my waist. I turned around to see a fleshly shaved Alexander. He smelt good, he bent his head and kiss me lightly on the lips.
"Good morning." He said smiling at me.
I automatically returned his smile. "Morning, you smell good," I said and nuzzled in his neck. He laughed and pulled away. I gave him a sad look.
"Wouldn't want my pancakes to burn, now would I?" he said I remembered that I was making breakfast before he came. I quickly turned around and turned the pancakes.
Alex went and sat at the island. "How was your sleep last night?"
"Bad," I replied as I placed all my attention on the pancakes.
"Why?" he sounded like he pouted.
"I didn't get much sleep."
"Someone was up thinking about me." He said, and I knew he was smirking. I've come to know his face and how it looks when he says certain things
"Cocky much."
He laughed. "Come on, don't be shy. I won't tell anyone." He said.
I took the pancakes out of the pot and placed them on the plate. I turned off the stove and took off the mitten and apron. I placed them on a nearby hook. Then I walked to Alex slowly and stopped in front of him and went in his opened legs.
"Don't tell anyone what that I did this" I slowly brought my face closer to his for a kiss. When his lips close enough to touch mine. I turned my head and licked his cheeks with my tongue. He yelped and jumped off the stool.
"You're trouble, missy. I can't believe you did that. I thought you were going to kiss me not lick me." He said in a laugh.
"I know, and that's why I did it." I smiled. My plan wasn't to lick his face it was originally to kiss him, but I watched The Duff and that's what the girl did. It was so funny, and I really wanted to try it myself.
"Come here." He pulled me to him and wrap his hands around my waist. "That's not how you kiss someone. You kiss, like this." He slowly brought his head to mine. His lowered his lips on mine and he started kissing me with full passion in which I returned. We were interrupted when his phone began to ring. He pulled away from me to answer it. He excused himself and walked out of the kitchen, maybe trying to keep whatever on the phone in private.
After about five minutes of waiting for him, I started to eat my pancakes since it didn't seem like he was coming back any time soon.
I left a few pancakes under a plater for him cased he decided to come back.
I washed the things I used then made my way on to Henrique's room.
I opened his door and there he was in his crib playing with one of the toys.
I was shocked, he was crying. He was focused on the toy in his head that he didn't see me.
"Good morning baby."
Henrique turned to look at me and smile showing his little tiny teeth.
I laughed at his cuteness. I went over to his crib and pick him up.
"You must be hungry." I smiled up at him. "Let's get you some food."
I want back to the kitchen with him latched on my side. I noticed the pancakes where gone and Alex was nowhere to be seen.
Probably in his office working.
I fed Henrique and went back to his room and gave him a long bath. He fell asleep as soon as I got his clothes on. I smile and took him back to my room.
I didn't really have a plan for today.
Maybe read Wattpad and paint.
If I was in the mood, I could take Henrique to the pool.
There was only one thing I wasn't allowing myself to do today.
I wasn't going to think about Alexander.
I spend the whole night doing that already.
