I gritted my teeth. "You just can't ever leave me alone. You're so obsessed with me, you know that?" My jaw began to hurt from how much pressure I was putting on it.
Dark circled the room like a lion circling its prey. His eyes were locked on to Jack, who was trembling where he stood. He let out a scoff before stopping in his tracks. "You know, I'm starting to wonder why you saved this dirty little rat."
I clutched my fists. Sure, I knew almost nothing about Jack, but he was just a normal human. "You're the dirty little rat." My voice shook. I knew I was treading in dangerous territory. "H-he never murdered anyone, y-you have."
Dark let out a chuckle before he made his way to me. "Oh Koraline, how naive you are. Let's not forget how many lives you've taken. There was that man who you stabbed before his wedding." He stepped closer. "Or that teen who's car you purposely made crash. Don't you remember? You've got the same amount of blood on your hands as I do."
Jack slowly started to back away. Dark turned and strode to him, grabbing him by the collar. "Maybe, if you don't fight back, I'll kill you slightly quicker than I was going to."
My hands flew forward, and before I knew it, my dogs lunged forward at Dark. The tips of my fingers sparked as small, thin bolts of lightning spewed from them. I could feel my arms tingle and shock as the lines of electricity flowed through my body.
Dark spun around and swung his fists at the dogs, dropping Jack to the ground. He managed to injure both of the dogs, right before the lightning struck him. His body twitched as he cried out in agony.
I put my hand down as Dark looked up at me, clutching his abdomin, where the lightning had struck. "You've...got a lot of fight in you, huh?" He laughed, shaking his head, black blood pooling on the ground. "I knew there was a reason I recruited you."
Dark stood, continuing to groan in pain. He looked me in the eyes. I could see it now, the blood was leaking from his mouth. "I have...a deal." He wheezed. "I'll give you four months to make your choice: either kill him, or be killed with him."
And with that, he was gone. I glanced to Jack, who was now walking toward me, slowly aiding the dogs to walk to me. "Jack, please, don't just think I'm going to hurt you. Yes, what he said was true, but you saw what I did, right? I wouldn't hurt you like that. Y-you believe me, right?"
Jack locked eyes with me, nodding slowly. "Are you okay? K-Koraline?" Tears spilled on to my cheeks. Did he trust me? He pulled me into a tight hug. "I believe you."
I closed my eyes. "Dark said he would give us four months...I-I know this is a wierd question, but, where do we spend it?" I asked, pulling away from him.
Jack contemplated this for a moment, before his eyes lit up. "Let's go back to my house."

"This place seems so much bigger when you're not hiding." I joked, running my hand over the wall.
Jack seemed less amused at this, giving me an off look. "So, what do you do here?" I asked, stopping at the door to his room.
It was slightly cracked, enough so to where I could see a computer.
Jack pushed open the door, revealing a wonderfully decorated room. "I record videos for Youtube!" He smiled. I tilted my head to the side.
"Don't tell me you think this is odd. You kill people for a living!" Jack laughed, looking back into the hallway. I shook my head, putting my finger to my lips. "Let's not tell the entire world. I mean, I didn't tell anyone about the Spiderman boxers I found in your floor a moment ago."
By now, I was giggling like a school girl. Jack blushed and brushed his hair out of his face. "Th-thanks for saving me back there. I don't think I would have made it." He touched the tips of his fingers together.
"No need to thank me. You should be thanking the random power that showed up. I have never once shot lightning out of my fingers." I scanned the room. My eyes caught sight of a movie, sitting on a dusty shelf.
I picked the movie up and brushed it off. "The Nightmare On Elm Street? This is so fake. Well, from what I've seen." I put the movie back. Jack frowned, yawning softly.
"I think I'm gonna hit the hay. I'm exhausted after nearly being killed." He walked around me and out of the room, mumbling to himself. "Twice."
A sudden heaviness washed over me and my heart sunk. Did I...feel bad?
