The night air was sharp, cutting against my skin like a blade as I leaped from tree to tree. My breath came in heavy, ragged gasps, visible in the cold air, my lungs burning with the effort. The dark gray cloak I wore did little to protect me from the freezing wind that rushed past me, making me shiver despite the heat from my exertion. My crimson tail, usually a vibrant splash of color against the muted tones of the forest, was now matted with dirt and twigs, dragging behind me like a forgotten banner. The ears atop my head twitched instinctively, straining to catch any sound that might signal danger.

Each landing sent a painful jolt through my legs, my muscles aching from the relentless sprint. I had pushed myself too far, and I knew it, but stopping wasn't an option. Not yet.

The trees blurred past me, the moon barely peeking through the dense branches overhead. The night was silent, save for the sound of my rapid breathing and the occasional crack of twigs beneath my bare feet. My ears flicked back, catching the faintest rustle of leaves in the distance. My heart skipped a beat.

'Were they still following me?'

Just a little more—

But then, my body gave in.

With one last push, I threw myself from a branch, twisting midair before crashing onto the grassy ground below. The impact stole the breath from my lungs, my chest heaving as I dug my fingers into the cold earth. My tail lashed out instinctively, brushing against the damp grass as I tried to steady myself.

'That was too close'

I swallowed hard, forcing my eyes toward the distant glow of the castle lights. They flickered like dying stars in the distance, barely visible through the thick forest. I knew the creatures wouldn't go back there. They shouldn't.

I had done everything I could.

For now, it would have to be enough.

With a tired sigh, I yanked off my cloak and tossed it beside me, the weight of it suddenly unbearable. The cold night air pressed against my sweat-damp skin, sending a fresh shiver down my spine. My ears flattened against my head, the tips tingling from the chill. I ran a hand through my bangs, trying to push them back, but they stubbornly fell right into my eyes again.

I let out an annoyed huff. 'Maybe I should just tie them back. A bun, maybe?'

"You did good".

The voice came from behind me—cold, unfeeling. I didn't turn around. I didn't have to.

The air around me thickened, a heavy, suffocating presence settling over my mind like a shadow pressing against my skull. My tail bristled, the fur standing on end as I felt his gaze on me. My ears twitched, straining to catch any movement, but there was none. He was as silent as the night itself.

"Hey, Herobrine".

He didn't walk up to me—he never did. Instead, his form materialized from the darkness itself, kneeling just inches away, white, lifeless eyes staring into mine. His lips curled slightly, almost like a smirk, but it was empty. It never reached his eyes. It never did.

"You have to be faster next time. I barely managed to stop him from getting to you". He said, voice void of emotion.

I inhaled sharply, my heart still hammering from the run. I clenched my jaw, shaking my head. My tail flicked irritably behind me, the motion betraying my frustration.

"Good to see you too". I muttered, sarcasm laced in my voice as I pushed myself up. I dusted off my clothes, grabbed my cloak, and started walking, not bothering to check if he was following.

He always did.

The only sound that filled the space between us was my footsteps against the forest floor, but I could feel him there. Watching. Waiting.
My ears swiveled back, catching the faintest whisper of his presence, though he made no sound. But after a moment, I glanced over my shoulder.

"At least I'm doing something. A ‘thank you’ would be nice".

Herobrine didn't react. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, like he was studying me. His gaze lingered on my ears, then flicked down to my tail, as if he found them curious. Or perhaps he was just mocking me. It was hard to tell with him.

"You should be more careful". He said. "The Prince almost saw your face".

I felt my patience snap. My pace quickened, frustration bubbling in my chest. My tail lashed out behind me, the fur bristling as my ears flattened against my head.

"I'm trying-". I snapped, spinning to glare at him. "But do you have any idea how hard it is to stop something from happening when I don't even know when it's going to happen?!".

His expression remained unreadable.

I let out a sharp breath, running a hand through my hair before throwing up my hands in frustration.

"It would be so much easier if your dreams actually made sense! You show them to me, don't you? Then why are they always so fast, so unclear?! It's like I'm watching a broken memory—flashes of faces I barely recognize, places I've never been, voices talking over each other, everything happening too fast for me to make sense of it!".

I pointed at him, my voice rising once more, as I clenched my fists,

"By the time I wake up, half of it is already slipping away! How am I supposed to stop something if I don't even understand what I'm looking at?!".

Still, nothing.

Herobrine just stood there, staring. Those empty white eyes bore into me like a void, unreadable, unfeeling. My tail drooped, the frustration draining out of me as quickly as it had come. My ears twitched, the tips drooping slightly as I turned away.

A part of me wanted to keep yelling at him, to demand answers. But another part of me knew better.

This was pointless.

Why was I even trying? It wasn't like logic worked on him. It wasn't like he cared.

It wasn't like he was even real. Not in the way that mattered.

I exhaled sharply and turned away, shoving my frustrations down as I started walking again. If he wasn't going to respond, then I wasn't going to waste my breath.

Then—

A sharp, sudden pain shot through my skull. I gasped, stumbling as my vision blurred. My body tensed, my breath hitching, but just as quickly as it came, it was gone.

Silence.

I didn't need to turn around to know that he was gone. Back to wherever he came from.

I walked alone for what felt like hours, the tension in my chest slowly easing as the forest began to thin. My tail, which had been dragging behind me, perked up slightly as I caught the faintest flicker of light ahead. My ears twitched, straining to hear, but the only sound was the soft crunch of leaves beneath my feet.

The light grew brighter as I approached, and soon I could make out the warm glow of a fire. My heart, which had been heavy with exhaustion and frustration, began to warm as well. A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips.

Home.

Finally home...

(Hello, friends! It's been so long since I last posted something in here. But here I am!

Well, it's not considered a chapter, it's more like... Idk? A thrilling chapter? Call it whatever you want but I just saw someone do it for a character that didn't even appear and I liked it!!

Anyways, I have something important to say! Hear me out:
I had an idea for one of the most important chapters in here, but I needed a character other that the CG, so I thought why not ask you guys! It's like this, tell me about you OC's, their height, personality, appearance and so on, and the one I like the most will be added here!

What do you think? It's okay if you don't, a lot of people don't like their OC's to be used in someone's else account. But if you think it's a good idea than please don't hesitate!

See you next time).
