Chapter Twelve: Upon return

They entered the dorm they haven't seen in more than a year. Avagay memories came rushing back. Home. That's where she was.  Christopher realizes Crystal has moved out. Probably sharing room with Robert.

The dust settles on any and everything in the room. Cobwebs reached for them, no one had entered their room since. It is just the way he left it.

Both agents cleaned the room, then washed themselves afterwards. Avagay went and washed their clothes, which they hadn't worn for more than a year. She got some new bed spreads, while exploring headquarters. She remembered some places, and anywhere she didn't remember  she would ask someone.

They were the current gossip. Rouge Agents captured but not eliminated. Everywhere she went people started to whisper and stare, she was like a celebrity. Some had the audacity to come to her, she answered the none personal questions and left the rest.

Christopher told her about their newly mission, when they both were cleaning. She would train with him for the current days and build back the agent within her.

Avagay exits the elevator on the second floor of the dorm building.  She approaches her room, which she shares with Christopher. A girl stands there her ginger hair barely brushing her shoulders. She holds a package in her left hand, which also possess a ring. Her hour glass bottle shape is tightly gripped by her black bodysuit.
Avagay analyzes the style of her clothes blue strips extending from her side.  Her black boots stops at her ankle, and is enhanced by her blue gloves, which leaves out her fingers. Her foot taps, as she waits for someone to open the door. Chris does.

Avagay watches the reunion. The girl flings her hand around Christopher pulling him into a tight hug. She blabbers about the rumors going around and her joy for seeing him again. She asks for Avagay. It's then that Christopher points infront of him with a smile on his face. It's the first Ava has seen him smile. It's a half smile but at least he smiles.

The girl turns the package held against her chest. It's then that Ava recognizes her from her memories. Her grey eyes sparkles with surprise, as her warm  smile welcome Ava back home. Crystal extends her arms running to greet Ava, who held the basket in her hand.

Avagay doesn't quite remember her, but she must be someone she had known well. She places the basket down and hugs her. She has never been so warm before.

After the little reunion Avagay went training with Christopher. She found out that she wasn't so rusty after all. Many agents watched her and praised her after her training in the different areas. They knew she had just awoken from a comma, her profound techniques shocked the different teachers.

First she went to the takwando center, since that was her speciality before she joined the agency. Then she fought with knifes. She went to the arcade to shoot she missed all her targets except one, she still needed to work on that. All her other areas were well, Christopher himself was surprised. He challenged her to a showdown, which he won. Of course, because he was a constant training agent and he was much larger in size.  She needed to work on her nutrition.

Night came along, and so did dinner. She meet Robert, Crystal's fiance and member of team Shadow. He was larger than Chris in body, with a cheerful personality. He made fun of Christopher and brought up past stories. With every moment he got he expressed his love to Crystal, earning a blush from her every time. His jokes made Ava laugh and the air light. She could see why she would become friends with these people.

At the end of the day Ava was tired but happy. She could also say the same for Chris. His dimple that she never once recognized showing itself. His stern face relaxed as his arm hung loosely around Crystal's shoulder. They walked back to their room, the couple beside Ava and Chris' room. They wished each other a good night as they departed.

Avagay changed off then went to sleep on the bed at the far end of the room. Christopher changed off, however took his seat on his throne. He was back home, to the agency that killed his father. Memories continued.

On a night like this one he sat at on the chair staring out the window. No one there to bother him, he was left to his thoughts. The cold air rushed in and fought his skin leaving cold bumps behind.

It's the same night that followed a never forgetful day. James spoke ill of Ava and blamed Chris. He was left doubtful but Crystal words from the past gave him hope.

He stared out the window wishing everything would go back to normal, when Crystal stumbled in.  Her clothes  all out of place as she found Avagay's bed and laid on it. She turned her back to Christopher rolling herself into a ball. He heard sniffing.

Christopher left his seat and wondered over to the mother like image in his life. He wanted to comfort her. To ask her what was wrong. However he didn't know how to, he wasn't taught. He sat at the edge of the bed in silence, just listening to her cry.

Selfish. Always finding excuses to not help.

"Are you still having nightmares relating to Wendy," he finally spoke, but received no answer.

He turned and stared at her, then laid beside her hugging her like she did when he wasn't in the best mode. With her back pressed to his chest he could hear her breathing. He heard her sniff.

"It's not easy," Crystal said through her sobs.

"It's not easy because you won't talk to me," he replied rather calmly. He was right, she never spoke to him about her problems. She always listened to him. So he just accused.

"You cry about her everyday, but you did nothing wrong. It makes no sense to me"

"I pushed her that's why," Crystal muffled crying louder.

"You what," he asked. He rolled Crystal over unto her back, so he could look into her face. "I don't believe you," he continued.

He knew she couldn't. On the day of Wendy's death he could have sworn he saw Crystal coming from the training center. So how did she push her off the building? Crystal saw Wendy's corpse when she approached the dorm building. It made no sense?

"I didn't push her physically, but it was still my fault. I was so busy caring for you I didn't see that my sister was broken and needed my help," She muffled, her hands covering her face as she laid on her back.

"She's right I'm nothing but a selfish brat that only cares about myself and my promises," Crystal continued.

"I don't understand," Chris said furring his brows in confusion.

"He pushed her. I watched the tape today and she didn't kill herself. He killed her," she said sitting up in bed. "I thought everything was okay between them. She would ask me questions I would get annoyed at her. I thought she must have known the answer already. I shunned her and I should not have. She needed help and she came to me as the eldest and I let her slip through my hands. I killed her. I let him," she cried.

Christopher froze, he didn't know what to say. The information was so new to him. He was so invested in himself he knew not of others.

"Who is he," he asked. Crystal looked at him her eyes showing hurt and despise.

"Redwolf" The name rolled off her tongue like water, and came out bitter like lime. She hated him. After what he has done to her, her sister and his brother. She still hates him.

Christopher flared his nostrils. He looked up to that man. And, he killed his team member. He not only did that but hurt Crystal. Wendy was like a little sister to him. The sister that kept to herself and did what pleaded her, when it pleased her. The sister he knew but didn't. He grieved when she died, she was one of his. It was his duty to look after her as the older, her brother like figure and team leader. He let her down, even now, since he just discovered this piece of puzzle. Selfish.

He wanted to beat himself, however Redwolf had to be taken care of first. He got up from the bed stalking towards the door. He was going to get what he deserve. He should.

"Where are you going?", Crystal asked.

"To deal with that piece of shit"

"Watch your manners young man. And, I don't want you to get hurt. Just leave it."

"Tsk watch my mouth I'm a grown boy, plus I can't just leave it as that"

"Your a grown boy still wearing pampers, don't argue with me. Stay inside this room," she replied her moist eyes stern but sad. He looked towards her, the door then the bathroom. He listened to her, and had a shower instead.

While Chris washed off his second skin, coated with sweat and dirt, Crystal cried to herself. The scenes from earlier racked her brain. Redwolf was a real wolf. She wrapped her hands around herself.

The man she thought was just a humourous and kind gentle man grabbed her wrist and slammed her body against the wall. He captures her lips with his and kisses her roughly. She taste the vintage as he deepens the kiss and explores her mouth with his tongue. She tried pushing him off, he held her tighter. His hands roamed her body, more than she liked. She pushed him off, and he grabbed her throat.

"what are you doing," she muffled trying to get out of his chokehold; he tightens his grip. Her head spins due to the lack of oxygen she claws at his hand.

A tear trickled down her check. She looked up to this man. Yet he touched her inappropriately, and it wasn't the first. She couldn't take it anymore. The door flew open revealing his brother. He let go of Crystal and she fell on the floor with a thud.

"I told you to stay out of this," she heard Redwolf say.

"you can't do that," Robert answered.

"I told you to stay out of this," Red hollered again.

"You already took her sister what more do you want? Are you so heartless," Robert said whispering the last part. "I can't stand and watch you get into trouble," he continued.

"I can't stand back and let my little brother disobey me," Red replied.

He looked at Crystal with taunting eyes then walked to his younger brother. He gave him a death stare before walking through the door.

Robert ran to Crystal side helping her to stand before embracing her in his arms. Her body shivered against his as her tears drenched his shirt. He became sad.

Crystal left his arms and ran to Christopher's dorm. She knew the truth; she hated Agent Red.

" Christopher won't you go to bed," Avagay frightened him. He held his chest.

"Umm yeah" He closed the window and the door to the balcony, before laying on his bed. He places his hand under his head staring at Ava. She smiles.

"Goodnight," she whispers

"Goodnight," he replied, smiling afterwards. He was ready for the new start. Was.
