Chapter 65
Although they didn't really have to leave early for the viewing appointment, Chan was still awake early.
He only had a little more than two weeks to arrange everything for the proposal and he wanted it to be perfect. In addition, he had to discuss with Jisung if he had planned for the proposal for Minho and whether he needed help with anything. And they had to go buy the rings.
The thoughts in his head turned circles and he was slightly panicked that he would not be able to do everything he had planned. And that it wouldn't be as he imagined. And even more that Changbin won't accept his proposal.
Sighing, he turned around. Changbin lay behind him, Jisung lay in front of him and as carefully as he could he wanted to crawl out of bed, but just saw Jisung open his eyes sleepy.
"Good morning handsome," Chan whispered.
"Good morning Channie," Jisung whispered back and yawned.
"Are you awake enough to get up and come with me?" Chan asked quietly.
Jisung yawned again, but nodded and together they crawled out of bed as carefully as they could.
"No matter what we plan to do, I need a coffee first," Jisung said tired and went towards the kitchen.
Chan followed him smiling.
"Do you want which one too?"
"No, thank you."
Smiling, Chan leaned against the kitchenette and watched as Jisung waited impatiently for his coffee.
When the coffee was finally ready, Jisung took the cup and went over to Chan with it. Tired, he leaned against him.
"What are we up to?"
"We will now get dressed quickly and go shopping," Chan said conspiratorially. "Finally, we ate the last ramen yesterday and urgently need to buy new ones."
Jisung had to refrain from laughing.
Chan wrapped his arms around the younger one and pressed him against him.
"Are you excited?" Jisung asked quietly.
Chan nodded and chewed on his lower lip.
"Stop that baby, otherwise you won't get any more kisses!" said Jisung, shaking his head slightly and then carefully drank a sip of coffee.
"Hmm," Chan grumbled, but stopped. "If we want to go before Bin and Min wake up, we should get dressed and leave soon."
"All right, then we should maybe put on some clothes," said Jisung and drank another sip of coffee before he placed his mug and went into the bedroom in front of Chan.
As quietly as possible, they gathered their clothes and then disappeared from the bedroom again.
They hastily got on and then almost fled the apartment, in fear that every moment Minho or Changbin could appear and stop them.
Laughing, the two finally sat in the car.
"Actually funny what nonsense you come up with to keep things a secret, isn't it?" Jisung said with a grin.
Chan nodded in agreement and closed his seat belt.
"Do you write to Binnie and Min that we are shopping and will be back around 11 at the latest so that we can leave in time for the viewing?"
"Of course."
A short time later, they stood in front of a really exclusive-looking jeweler and Jisung couldn't get out of amazement.
"Here you want to buy the rings!?"
Chan nodded with a smile. "And I even made an appointment so that we can choose some undisturbed."
While Jisung was still thinking about when Chan had made the appointment, the older already went to the door and opened it for Jisung.
The employee welcomed them and bowed deeply to Chan and him. It seems to be well known who Chan was.
And while Chan explained why they were here, Jisung looked around in amazement. Everything sparkled and shone and he couldn't get enough of it.
Fortunately, both had already thought about what the rings should look like and so they could limit the selection a bit.
Shortly afterwards, rings made of the desired materials were presented to Chan and Jisung.
Both found it difficult to decide on a ring at first, but eventually both found what they were looking for.
Chan had chosen a ring made of pure white gold, while Jisung had chosen one made of white and red gold.
"However, we would need the rings in a week or two. Would that be feasible?" Chan asked, fervently hoping that they could get the rings so quickly.
"If they tell me the ring sizes, I can check if that is possible."
Chan took a deep breath, gave her the ring sizes and the saleswoman disappeared backwards.
Jisung looked at Chan and had to grin. Otherwise, Chan was only so nervous just before they entered the stage.
The saleswoman came back to them with a smile on her lips. "You are lucky! The rings in the sizes are already ready and can be picked up next week."
Relieved, Chan exhaled and smiled at Jisung, who had to pull himself together with difficulty not to jump up and down with joy.
"Are you paying them to-"
Chan cut her off by putting his credit card on the counter and looked at Jisung strictly so that he didn't say anything about it. Because he had already opened his mouth to protest.
After Chan left his phone number and got his credit card back, they left the jeweler.
When they were back in the car, Jisung finally said what had been on his tongue the whole time.
"I can pay for Minho's ring myself!"
"I didn't even question that you can do that! But by chance I know that you support your mom... every month. And if you want, you can pay for the ring yourself. But you don't have to."
For a moment, Jisung was speechless. Tears gathered in his eyes and he just didn't know what to say.
"Honey," Chan reached for his hand.
Jisung laboriously pulled himself together.
"Come on, we still have to buy ramen... otherwise it will stand out," he said and took a deep breath.
Then he stared out the window and said nothing more. He was lost in his thoughts. About Chan. About Minho. About Changbin. About his mother. And then the tears ran down his face.
"May I still think about your offer?" he murmured questioningly while trying to wipe away the tears.
"Of course!"
Jisung took a deep breath and would have preferred to climb on Chan's lap to let him take him in his arms.
He loved Chan and he owed him so much. He couldn't even put into words what he felt for the other.
He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't even notice that they were now standing in the parking lot of a supermarket.
"Do you want to come shopping with me? Or would you rather stay here?" Chan finally asked.
"I'm coming with you."
So they stood together in the supermarket and before Chan knew it, an incredible amount of sweets ended up in the shopping cart.
"Are you serious?" Chan asked with a laugh.
Jisung nodded happily and carefully put a pack of chocolate donuts in the shopping cart.
Shaking his head, Chan ran after him and at least made sure that the ramen, but also a few healthy cooking ingredients ended up in the shopping cart.
At least he didn't have to worry about the shopping excuse anymore. Jisung made sure that they would be more than believable.
Chan could just stop him from buying all sorts of nonsense. But also only with the hint that they had to hurry if they wanted to pick up Minho and Changbin on time.
It was already just shortly before 11 when they finally got back home.
Minho and Changbin sat at the dining table and drank coffee when Chan and Jisung came in packed with shopping bags.
"You can't be left alone anywhere," Minho said with a laugh.
Together they cleared out the bags and then almost had to hurry to get off in time.
