Chapter 46
The next morning, Minho woke up first. He was used to getting up early in the morning and going to work. He couldn't even stop it on the weekend.
He just lay down for a moment. He had no idea what to do cause he wasn't used to having so much free time. Normally he would have gotten up and run a lap, but he was sure that this was not a good idea with his physical condition.
Sighing, he grabbed his phone and looked to see if he had missed any calls or messages.
Jimin had called him.
Frowning, he got up, pulled over a hoddie and went to the balcony.
After he lit a cigarette, he called him back.
"Hey Minho, good that you're calling back."
"Good morning Jimin, what's up?"
"Your clothes have been released and I wanted to ask you if you want them back. Or what's left of it."
Minho almost shook his head angrily and was just about to send Jimin to hell when he started talking again.
"Or maybe at least the silver bracelets that were in your pants..."
Minho almost dropped his phone. He hadn't thought about the bracelets at all and Jisung had never asked him about them either.
"Damn, yes, definitely!"
"I thought so. But I can't leave here today. If you want them back today, you have to come pick them up."
"Sure, I'll be on my way right away!"
"See you soon."
Minho hurriedly snapped out his cigarette and ran back to the bedroom.
He got dressed as quickly and quietly as possible, but could not prevent him from waking Chan with it.
The elder had a relatively light sleep and sat up sleepy when he saw the Minho getting dressed.
"Where are you going?" he asked in amazement.
"I have to go to the headquarters. Our clothes have been released and I had found bracelets on the Jisungs farm. I would like to give it back to him if he still wants it."
Tired, Chan swung his legs out of bed and stood up.
"I'll drive you..."
Much slower than Minho before, Chan dressed and then followed the younger one to the entrance.
"Normally I don't like to drink coffee, but today I really could need one..," he said tired and yawned.
"You don't have to drive me, honey. I can also go there by taxi or something."
Chan growled at him.
"It's out of the question! If I let one of you out of my sight, only disasters happen..."
Minho had to grin. "You seem to forget that I am an NIS agent.... I can take good care of myself."
Chan shook his head and snorted.
"I'm not so sure about that."
Yawning, he put on his shoes and jacket and then left the apartment together with Minho.
Sighing, Minho dropped into the passenger seat. As long as he could remember, he had always driven himself since he had his driver's license. Even during their missions, he was at the wheel and Jimin in the passenger seat.
"Be patient, honey. Soon you will be able to drive again. And then I can sit in the passenger seat and sleep," Chan said and yawned again.
On the way, they stopped to buy coffee. But neither Minho nor Chan thought that he might better put on a mask, cause he looked all tired and sleepy.
And as fate wanted it, Chan saw while paying, how someone took photos, or maybe even a video of him.
He mastered his poker face for such situations perfectly, but he could guess what would be made of it. After all, they had just postponed their comeback.
Minho walked after him in silence and photos were also taken of that.
Sighing, he let himself sink into the driver's seat and was grateful for the tinted windows. Sometimes it really got on his nerves that he couldn't take even a single step without being recorded.
"Everything okay?" Minho asked worriedly.
"Yes... sometimes it just annoys me. And right now everyone will tear their mouths about why we postponed the comeback and why I look so tired and done..."
Now Minho sighed and extended his hand to Chan. He would have liked to pull him to him and take him in his arms, but the windscreen was not tinted and they shouldn't cause even more attention. Especially since there were already photos of him with Jisung in his arms in the press. Would probably not be so advantageous if there were now pictures of him and Chan "intimate" in the car.
Chan grabbed his hand and drove off.
Fortunately, it was not far to the headquarters and since they had taken Minho's car, they could park in the underground car park.
"Do you want to come up with me?"
Chan thought for a moment, but then shook his head.
"I think I've had enough attention for now."
"Okay, I'll hurry up and be right back."
A quarter of an hour later, Minho knocked on the window of the passenger door and Chan opened the lock of the car.
Smiling, Minho held out the bracelets.
And despite his bad mood, Chan couldn't help but smile back.
"I still remember exactly how Jisung came to the studio radiantly that day and showed us the bracelets. You make him happy Min!"
"He makes me happy too."
For a moment, Minho considered whether he should say the next sentence.
"I think we make each other pretty happy. So all four of us," he murmured and looked at his fingers while his ears suddenly turn red.
Chan reached for his hand.
"If I could, I would kiss you right now," he said with a grin, which only led to Minho's ears becoming even more red.
"Do you think we can stop at a jeweler on the way home?"
"Sure, but what do you want? The bracelets look intact, don't they?" Chan asked curiously.
"I won't tell you," Minho said with a smile.
Chan sighed and drove off. He was used to the younger one asserting his dickhead and doing what he wanted.
Arriving at the jeweler, Minho didn't ask Chan if he wanted to come along, but Chan put on a mask and followed him without further ado.
Minho rolled his eyes with a grin, but said nothing about it.
"Would you clean these bracelets for me?" was the first thing Minho said after he entered the store.
The employee nodded kindly, took the bracelets out of Minho's hand and left the sales room, while Minho and Chan looked at the bracelets in the store.
"Do you want to buy him a new one?" Chan asked quietly.
"Something like that. Which one do you like?"
Chan took a moment to look at the bracelets and then pointed to a silver, delicate bracelet.
Minho smiled, nodded and then turned to the employee.
"I would like to have this bracelet four times."
She looked at him with raised eyebrows. "Four times?"
Minho nodded with a smile and pushed his credit card over the counter.
Chan also looked at him in amazement, but Minho also decided to ignore it.
After the employee had packed the bracelets in pretty boxes and pulled Minho's credit card through the reader, another employee came back with Jisungs bracelets just at the right moment.
"We wish you a wonderful day."
Minho took the bracelets, along with a pretty bag with the new bracelets in it.
"Have a nice day," he said and left the store together with Chan.
He really felt like reaching out for Chan's hand, but he preferred to let it go. They had to get used to being even more careful in public. Minho didn't want to draw any more attention to Chan, Jisung or himself. Changbin has been a little outside so far and if it was up to him it should stay that way.
"Let's go home. Ji and Binnie are certainly already awake," said Minho when he dropped at the passenger seat.
"Home," Chan repeated with a smile.
