Chapter 14
Minho felt like he was going crazy. He now followed the fourth track, as the previous ones had yielded nothing, but really nothing at all.
Jisung had soon disappeared for 30 hours and he had not yet come one step further. Not yet one step closer to finally finding his fiancée again.
This time the trail led out of Seoul, into the forest and the mountains. Minho cursingly turned on the high beam. It was damn dark despite the early morning hour.
Jimin had lost the trail of the truck at a junction, as there were significantly fewer traffic cameras up here in the mountains than in the city.
Minho cursed while racing across the street at breakneck speed.
He fervently prayed that this trail would result in something. His patience had been gone a long time ago and he really wanted to beat someone up.
A dark van met him. Sullen, he dimmed the high beam and looked skeptically at the car.
But finally the car was over, Minho shook his head and drove on.
Finally arrived at the junction that Jimin had mentioned, he turned off and followed the road, which soon led to a forest path.
For a moment, he thought about whether it was wise to continue driving the car.
He dialed Jimin's number.
"Are there any buildings to which the forest path leads?"
"Yes, according to the directory, two farms. One about 5 kilometers away from you, the other about 20. What are you up to? Do you want to take them on your own first or should I send you reinforcements?"
"I'll go alone first. After all, I have no idea if he's there. I'll get back to you when I know anything new," without waiting for an answer, he hung up and continued driving.
About a kilometer before the first farm, he parked the car behind shrubs so that it at least could not see it right away.
Then he put on his bulletproof vest, checked his weapon and magazine and put a replacement magazine in his pocket and ran off.
Now it seemed convenient for him that it was dark and he was surrounded by trees and bushes. At least they couldn't discover him right away.
When he finally arrived at the run-down farm, he first circumnavigated the building.
There were no vehicles to be seen, but clear tire marks could be seen in the mud in the driveway.
So either the residents had flown out or the vehicle was parked somewhere else.
Minho sneaked quietly to the back entrance.
Since he didn't know what to expect inside, he thought it made more sense not to walk through the front door.
He carefully turned the door knob and was somewhat surprised when the door opened.
The weapon at the ready, he entered the building. He wished to have his night vision device here, but it probably had to work without it now.
The ground floor looked run-down, but quite normal. As you would expect from a farm.
Frustrated, Minho wanted to leave the house again when he became aware of semicircular scratch marks on the floor in the living room.
Not very visible and if you didn't look carefully for such traces, you wouldn't notice them either.
It took him a moment to find the switch for the door, but finally the door, a bookshelf, swung open with a mixture of scraping and squeaking.
Minho prayed that no one might have heard the opening of the door and carefully climbed down the stairs.
Below it looked just as shabby and run-down as above, but you didn't feel like you were on a farm at all. It looked more like a dungeon or prison camp.
Silently cursing, he pulled the flashlight out of his belt and lit up into the cells, while he still had his weapon in the ready with the other.
The first cell was completely empty, without anything in it.
Minho accelerates the unpleasant feeling that although something was completely wrong here, he would still not find Jisung here. It was just too quiet here.
In the next cell he examined, there was a metal bed, with a dirty mattress on it, on which someone had definitely been held. The shackles were still hanging on the metal frame.
But otherwise there wasn't really anything else to see here either.
The next two doors led into something like a lounge and a bathroom.
After that, cells came again, but there was nothing special to discover in them either.
The last one was a little more generously equipped, if you could call it that.
A second door led into a small shabby bathroom, but there was no discovery either.
In one corner lay a dirty, smelly mattress and opposite stood a table.
Disgusted, Minho wanted to leave the cell when the light of his flashlight met something glittering that seemed to be hidden under the mattress.
He cursed himself that he hadn't thought about looking under it before.
He quickly knelt in front of it, lifted up the mattress and trimmed. He could hardly believe his eyes.
Stunned, he raised the bracelets lying on the floor. He would recognize them at any time. After all, he had chosen them himself.
Tears gathered in his eyes and ran down his cheeks. Jisung had really been here. Had been held in this dirt hole.
Disgust and anger boiled up in him, but he had nothing to leave out on his feelings.
After that, nothing kept him on the farm.
He ran back to his car and called Jimin.
"He was here! You have to send the trace protection to the first farm! And find out through the traffic cameras whether in the last few hours since they arrived here, vehicles have also left the farm again!"
"Alright, I'll call you back as soon as possible!"
Minho hit the steering wheel again.
Now he knew that they had held him here, but neither who the guys were nor what they wanted from Jisung.
He drove back to the street tensely and waited for Jimin to call him back.
The minutes passed endlessly and Minho felt like he was going crazy.
When his phone finally rang, his hands trembled so much that he almost dropped it.
"In the period in question, there was only one vehicle that came from this direction. A dark van. He met you..."
"FUCK!" Minho yelled.
"I'll follow his trail and send you the location of the van!"
Minho would have liked to let out all his anger on himself. He had noticed the car and seemed somehow suspicious, but he had not listened to his instinct.
Jisung may have been in the car and he had lost valuable time searching this stupid farm.
His phone rang again.
"Looks like they're going towards Gimpo. As soon as they stop, I'll send you the location!"
Minho hung up cursingly. Gimpo was on the other side of Seoul. Even if he could bypass the traffic in the city, it would still take quite a while for him to arrive in Gimpo.
With his teeth bitten, he set off towards Seoul, while the sun slowly rose behind him.

Happy birthday Baby Girl! I know it's not like the sweet, fluff chapter you would've deserved, but yeah... Minho is on his way to finally find Ji and get him back.
Love you! <3
