War

It's what humans do every time they get on each other's bad side, the best option is to kill each other.

Conquest

It's an excuse for war.

All my life I've been used by the gods who killed their Evil father and became conquerors, then they decided they were too powerful to fight their own battles and they had their children fight their wars for them. The wars are always long and hard and devastating to the loosing side, but you don't know what they went through because they don't have a say.

Because the victors story gets told.

Narrator's pov (me)

Percy and the rest of the seven are on the Argo II and heading to the battle at Mt. Olympus to stop the giants and Gaea. Also the Physicians cure was never obtained. Now to Percy's pov!

Percy's pov

I'm in my room and staring up at the ceiling. We are about to fight the giants and Gaea. This is what we've been preparing for. I don't think we're ready even though we have to be.

I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!" I shouted

Annabeth opened the door and came in.

"Hey" She said

"Hey" I replied

"Are you OK?" She asked me

"We are all about to fight a war that we have little chance of winning, but other than that I'm fine." I replied with some of my humor.

I was hoping she would notice that I'm nervous under my calm and humorus demenor but she didn't. Have we really grown so far apart? I thought to myself.

My thoughts were interrupted when Piper walked in behind and said "We're there."

Everyone joined on the deck of the Argo II and took positions for battle. When we rose above the clouds surrounding Mt. Olympus we all gasped. The whole mountain was crawling with every monster known to Greek and Roman mythology.

"Let's get them!" Jason said, breaking the silence

"Yeah!" we all cheered back, they had already seen us so there was no point being quiet.

Now we were close enough to see details on the mountain and we noticed the Giants all sitting in the gods' old thrones.

"Hey!" yelled Leo "No son of dirt face is going to sit in my dad's throne!"

"Yeah!" Jason agreed

Then a bolt of lightning shot at us from the direction of the thrones.

"Their shooting at us!" Annabeth said to Leo "Don't we have ranged weapons to shoot back?"

"Be my guest." Leo replied gesturing to one of the mounted crossbows on the Argo II. Piper and Jason ran over to the ballista and fired an exploding arrow towards the monsters, it exploded in a small cloud of fire making a gap in the sea of monsters that proceeded to fill back up almost immediately.

"I think that made them mad!" I told Leo

"No dur, of course it made them mad!" Leo yelled back, while still steering the Argo II towards the ruins.

"I mean it made them mad enough to fire back!" I yelled urgently as another bolt hit the Argo II.

Then black smoke started poring out from the bottom of the ship.

Leo yelled "We're going down!"

Annabeth toke control of the situation, "Frank turn into something that flies and can carry us. Jason you fly down with Piper and stay near us!"

We all ran to different positions and in Franks case, jumped over the side of the ship. We herd all the monster laugh, probably thinking he was trying to kill himself. Their laughs turned into screams as he changed into a Greek dragon and hovered next to the falling Argo II. Annabeth, Hazel, Leo and I hoped onto Frank the dragon's back and we glided down to the mountain and monsters below.

As we landed monster began attacking us an we them. It wasn't long before we heard a huge crash as the Argo crashed into the monsters and fireballed into an explosion killing a ton of monsters. This was one of the few good things that would happen this war. As we needed gods to kill the giants they just sat on the thrones watching us fight for our lives.

Then I noticed the Olympians along with Hestia and Hades had arrived they all flashed in with a thundering boom and Zeus rallied us "Come on!" He thundered "We've got them!"

So we cheered as we destroyed the rest of the monsters. Now it was us against the giants. Ares and Frank were fighting Enceladus with Athena. Poseidon fought with Annabeth against Polybotes while Hephaestus and Leo fought Mimas. Hades and Nico (Nico was still aboard the Argo II and Reyna somehow found a way to transport the statue on her own) battled Alcyoneus while Hazel and Hecate battled Clytius. Periboia was getting beat up by Aphrodite and Piper. Zues and Jason were busy fighting Porphyrion and Hermes was struggling against Hippolytus alone. So I went to help Hermes. As I ran I saw the others battling and I had to parry the few remaining monsters that attacked me along the way.

"Hermes!" I shouted "Need some help?!"

"Yeah a little!" He shouted back, barely blocking a strike with his caduceus.

I summoned Riptide by flicking the cap off as I drew it from my pocket and charged. Hippolytus is extremely fast I thought as said giant dodged both Hermes and my attacks. I stopped and backed up out of the way of the giants blades and concentrated. I felt for water on Mt. Olympus, now I now it was barren, I mean it has been abandoned for thousands of years, but I knew that places like Mt. Olympus must have had underground rivers or at least sewers from when the Romans took over. I knew I was right as I sensed water 20 feet below the surface and I brought it to me making cracks with my earth shaker powers and bringing the water up through them.

Hippolytus' eyes widened as I brought the water up and he said "You weren't supposed to be able to use your powers!"

"Tough luck." I said back as I surrounded him in a cage of water.

"Hermes kill him!" I shouted while keeping the cage holding the giant from breaking.

Hermes stabbed the giant through the bars of the cage as the cage grew spikes of water that stabbed the giant turning him to dust.

"One down eight more to go." I muttered under my breath.

Hermes ran off to join Piper as her mother wasn't fighting, merely distracting Periboia. I scanned the battle field and saw that Enceladus figured out that without Frank the gods she was battling couldn't kill her, so I saw her slam Frank into a wall and knock him out cold his nose bleeding. I used the water to create spears and mentally threw them at Enceladus, stabbing the giant as Ares or Mars stabbed the giant with his sword, turning this giant to dust as well.

Hestia was busy healing the other demigods and gods to the best of her abilities, but I saw a giant sneak up behind her. I immediately summoned more water to me and threw more water spears at the giant. The spears hit the mystery giant and knocked him down. Then the Fates appeared each armed to the teeth with pots, pans, rolling pins, scissors and knitting tools and began to hit the downed giant with all of it, turning the poor giant to dust and they disappeared, just as quickly as they came.

A quick scan of the battlefield showed that the only giants remaining were Polybotes, Alcyoneus and Porphyrion. Before my eyes I saw Alcyoneus disappear under a mound of gods and demigods. While Zeus struggled against Porphyrion with only Ares/Mars (this Greek/Roman thing is so weird) to help him as Jason was hit out of the sky by the giants spear. So I ran to help my godly uncle destroy him.

When I got their Mars was busy dragging Jason out of danger and Zues was left alone. Zeus took the bait on a faint from Porphyrion and nearly got sent to Tartarus, but I used my water powers to do something I've never done before and turned the water to ice in front of Zeus. The ice blocked the spear and re-directed it into the ground. Zeus looked at me with a grateful look in his eyes, but also a steely resolve to get this battle over with. And so I used my earth shaker abilities to knock the giant off his feet and then stabbed his with Riptide while Zeus struck Porphyrion with his master bolt. As the giant turned to dust I herd my name being screamed.

"Percy!"

I turned around and saw my father knocked out in poisonous water from Polybotes and Annabeth stuck under his net. I ran towards them hoping against hope that I may reach her in time. I saw her struggling to get out from under the net as Polybotes stuck her with his trident with a sickening shish it entered her body. I knew it was a killing blow, even from this far away. I knelt down, my spirit crushed and I felt so sad, so depressed like it was all over. Then a boiling rage, a huge hatred took over me I saw Polybotes laughing, but all sound was muted and muffled by my suffering I saw my friends screaming and crying, but I ignored it. I focused on killing the one who ended her, who ended Annabeth.

With a scream that made even Polybotes look scared I charged. I used my earth shaker powers to keep him off his feet, I used my water and ice to make him suffer and I used Riptide to destroy him. When he turned to dust under my relentless attack everyone was surprised. I knelt down next to Annabeth as the first drop of her blood touched the ground...

And it was still a better love story than Twilight...
