22: Will You Do Me The Honor?

"I have something serious I need to ask you."

"Oh yeah? What's that?" I inquired, popping a grape into my mouth.

These past few weeks with Aiden have really been great. We spent every moment we could with each other, and it was never dull. I could feel my feelings towards him growing, but I don't exactly know what to do about them. The last few times I've had feelings for a guy haven't really turned out well, and I don't want to mess this one up.

It wasn't only my relationship with Aiden that improved, all of my relationships have. Ever since that day at the hospital, David and I have been on much better terms. Our group has finally been reunited! However, Aiden and David are obviously not willing to become friends anytime soon. David did attack Aiden unexpectedly, and in turn, Aiden put David in the hospital. They both have things they should apologize for, but they're both too proud to do so.

Men.

Aiden stole one of the grapes off of my tray and threw it into his mouth. "Oh I can't tell you now, the time isn't right," he said winking at me.

I raised a questioning eyebrow. "Well now I'm intrigued."

"I don't see how that's a bad thing," he responded with a smile.

I rolled my eyes. "Well, when will the time be right?"

"Tonight hopefully." His eyes twinkled with anticipation, and I felt something inside of me respond to him.

Just then, I saw Tremaine and Bianca out of the side of my eye. I watched as they sat down in front of us. I swear to you, they were both glowing. They both had goofy smiles plastered on their faces, and they couldn't keep themselves from stealing glances at each other. They're both truly happy with the other.

I felt my heart smile looking at them. I've known for a very long time that they're great for each other and I love that I get to see it play out in front of me.

Smirking, I said "And how are the two love birds doing on this fine day?"

Trey broke his gaze from Bianca and smiled at me. "I can ask you guys the same question."

Bianca just smiled and twirled her hair around her finger. I couldn't help but feel just a tad bit nauseated at the entire scene. Yeah, they're cute and all, but there's a limit! Gosh, I hope Aiden and I aren't this annoying to look at.

"So what are you guys doing tonight?"

"Oh, I have something special planned, so maybe we can double date another time." He finished his sentence by taking a big bite out of his burger. He had a huge grin painted on his face as he chewed, and I made a fake gagged at the sight of his food. Pig.

Trey and Bianca exchanged knowing looks with each other and laughed. I raised a questioning eyebrow at them, but Bianca just shrugged and continued to smile.

I rolled my eyes. What do they know that I don't? I hate being out of the loop, it makes me feel stupid. It's as if there's a really obvious joke being told and I can't find the humor. But I shrugged it off. I'll find out eventually.

The bell rang, and I used that as my cue to get up and leave. My friends released shouts of protest, but I flashed a grin at them and continued to saunter out of the cafeteria.

When I was well out of the cafeteria and on my way to my next class, I felt a arm wrap around my shoulder. I smiled at the familiar tingle I felt emit from our body contact.

"Why the hurry babe?" his deep voice whispered in my ear.

"Well, when the bell rings, it usually signals the end of one period and the beginning of another. That means we have to make our way to our next class," I informed sarcastically.

I heard him grunt playfully. "That's no excuse for leaving without giving me some sugar!"

Stifling a laugh, I turned to face him. "Give you some sugar? You sound like a grandmother."

"Don't make fun of me Trace," he pouted.

"Oh, that's the last thing I want to do to you," I responded, my voice laced with sarcasm again.

He laughed as the late bell rang. I cursed under my breath and Aiden squeezed me.

"I'll pick you up at 8 okay?" he planted a kiss on my cheek, and I felt the blood rush to the spot. He then scurried off to class, and I did the same.

-

I rolled over on my bed and checked the time. 7:00 pm. Sighing, I got up and walked towards my bathroom.

Even though I'm actually pretty excited for whatever Aiden has planned tonight, I was pretty comfortable and I probably would've been content with staying in bed all night.

As I showered, I realized that tonight will be our fifth date. I don't think I've ever been on a date with someone before we made our relationship official. Everything I do with Aiden is new and I must say it feels good. This is how normal people do it, right? They date before they label what they are? I've been approaching the whole dating thing wrong my entire life.

Once I was fresh out of the shower, I flung open my closet doors to find a good outfit for tonight. After only a few seconds of scanning, a lavender crop top caught my eye. Great. Now I have to work my entire outfit around this top. Reminding myself that it was still winter, I pulled out my black, high waisted skinny jeans and a black cardigan. That was easy and quick, just the way I like it.

I lotioned and put my clothes on. After choosing my perfume of the night and spraying generously, I walked to my vanity and sat down in front of the mirror. I played with my hair a little bit, then gave up and left it down. I swept more of my hair to one side to give the illusion of a side bang.

Then I started on my makeup. Not wanting to over do it, I just put on black eyeliner and mascara. To top it off, I put on a little bit of lip gloss.

I checked the clock again. 7:55.

I should really learn how to get ready quicker. Shrugging, I went downstairs to get my shoes. I picked my black ankle boots out of the downstairs closet. As I took my black coat off of its hanger, I couldn't help but think maybe I went a little bit overboard with the black. But then I decided that I didn't care because, well, black is awesome.

As I finished putting everything on, I heard a car pull into my driveway. I checked the clock one more time. 7:59. I smiled. It seems that everyone in my life is really punctual. Except Bianca. I don't think she owns any clocks or a sense of time.

"Mom I'm leaving!" I shouted.

"Have fun sweetie!" I heard her voice drift down the stairs.

I ran outside of my house excitedly, closing the door maybe a tad bit too hard. When Aiden saw me, he jumped out of the car and bowed.

"My lady," he said with amusement in his voice.

I laughed and pulled him back up to standing position.

"Someone's been watching Game of Thrones again I see," I commented, still laughing.

He clutched his heart in mock pain. "Don't go there. You know that show is depressing." He laughed as he went over to the passenger side of the car. I followed.

"Oh, I know. That's why I can't stomach watching it."

Aiden opened the passenger door and took my hand in his. I felt heat rise to the top of my cheeks and I stepped into the car. Pressing his lips against my hand, he let go and closed the door.

If the rest of the night goes like this, I think I might pass out from happiness.

When Aiden drove again, I turned to him and smiled. I never get tired of looking at him, and his beauty never ceases to amaze me. His brown, hazel flecked eyes never failed to distract me. I watched his jaw clench as he focused on the road, and I swooned internally.

He glanced at me a couple of times and then puffed out his cheeks in what seemed like frustration. Furrowing his eyebrows, he clenched his jaw even harder and quicker.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What's got your panties in a bunch?"

Chuckling a little to himself, he said "It's kind of hard to concentrate on the road when I can feel your beautiful eyes trying to explore my soul."

I blushed, and found myself silently thanking God that I'm too dark for it to be seen. "Sorry," I apologized, sinking into the seat a little.

He laughed loudly, and the bass in his voice made it feel like the car was vibrating. "It's okay babe. I know I look good," I rolled my eyes at his comment.

"But so do you," he said with a serious tone in his voice.

Clearing my throat, I changed the subject quickly. "Where are we going?"

He flashed his pearly whites and shook his head. "You'll find out soon enough beautiful."

I crossed my arms over my chest. "Have I ever told you that I don't like surprises at all?"

"Oh come on, you know better than to lie like that."

"Hmmph." I pressed my arms into my chest even harder.

Aiden looked over at me again, and then snapped his eyes back to road quickly and breathed in deeply.

"What's wrong?"

"You keep showing off your twins like that and we might get into a car accident."

I looked down and noticed that I had indeed pushed my breasts up. I was already wearing a low cut shirt, and I knew I wasn't helping. I blushed furiously and pulled my jacket over them.

After a few more minutes we finally pulled up to our destination. I looked outside of the window and realized that he took me to his house. I'd never forget the place, the last time I was here was the night of the party and I memorized every detail of the place. For some reason I thought I would never see it again after I told him the truth, and I wanted to remember his place. I know it sounds creepy but I really have no way of putting it differently.

As I stared at his house remembering not so great memories, Aiden's frame suddenly filled the window. He opened the door for me and held out his hand again. I took it graciously and got out of the car.

"Whoever says chivalry is dead obviously hasn't met you," I said smiling.

He responded by smiling so hard, I'm surprised the ends of his mouth didn't rip open. "I try for you Tracey."

"Keep telling me all these sweet nothings and I might pass out before the date even starts."

Still holding my hand, he led me towards his house. Instead of bringing me inside, he took me around the house and towards the backyard. My curiosity peaked, I gladly followed him to the surprise.

When we reached the backyard, I gasped and squeezed Aiden's hand out of excitement.

It. Was. Beautiful!

The path that led through the backyard was lined with candles flickering gently. In the middle of the area was a patio table with the umbrella removed and covered with a white tablecloth. There was another candle in the middle of the table, and two steaming hot plates of some kind of pasta dish. There was also a pitcher of water, another of lemonade, and two glasses.

The beauty didn't end there though. There were white Christmas lights wrapped around every last bush and tree. It definitely looked like something out of a movie, or a fairytale.

I felt my eyes well up with tears. Nobody, in the history of ever, has done anything this nice and well thought out for me. I turned to face him and saw that he was looking at me expectantly. When he saw the tears in my eyes, he pulled me into a tight hug.

Stroking my hair, he softly said "Tracey don't cry, this was supposed to make you happy. I'm sorry beautiful."

After about a minute, he broke the hug. Reaching a hand out to my face, he wiped away the few tears that managed to escape.

"I'm so sorry, I thought this would make you happy," he repeated.

At his words, I burst out into a hysterical fit of laughter. I just couldn't help it. He's the most adorable thing I've ever seen.

When I finished my laughing fit, Aiden just looked very confused.

Taking a deep breath, I said "You sweet, sweet boy. Those were tears of joy! This is the most wonderful thing anyone has ever done for me," I took his hands in mine and said the next words with all the sincerity I could, "Thank you. I love it."

Aiden smiled wide and gave me a peck on the cheek. "Anything for you. Now come on, before the food gets cold."

We sat down at the table and I took a closer look at the food. Realizing that it was chicken alfredo, which he knows is one of my favorite dishes, I stared at him in wonder.

"Well don't just sit there, dig in!" he exclaimed with a mouth full of food.

I giggled and started eating. It was delicious!

"Did you make this?"

Aiden rubbed the back of his neck and gave me a half smile. "I kind of made it with my mom."

I covered my mouth and stifled a giggle.

"Don't say anything," he growled out of embarrassment.

I closed an imaginary zipper over my mouth, and then continued to eat.

After we finished eating, I poured myself a glass of lemonade, and I filled Aiden's glass as well.

"So..."

"So?" he raised an eyebrow.

"I remember you saying that you had something important to ask me."

He perked up to my comment. "Ah, patience young one." He jumped up and ran inside of his house.

A few minutes later he ran back out with a carton of butter pecan ice cream, two spoons, and a blanket. I squealed in delight.

Aiden laid the blanket down on the grass and motioned me over. I left the table and sat down on the blanket with him, prying open the carton of ice cream and taking a big spoonful. I shoved the ice cream in my mouth and groaned in delight.

"Has anyone ever told you how wonderful you are?" I said through a mouthful of ice cream.

He laughed as he took some ice cream for himself. "I could stand to hear it some more."

I continued to take more spoonfuls of ice cream, and between each bite I yelled "You're wonderful...you're wonderful...you're wonderful!"

We both laughed, and when we calmed down, Aiden had a serious expression on his face. He took the spoon out of my hand and stuck it in the ice cream with his. He then took my hands in his and stared straight into my eyes.

"Tracey..." he took a deep breath. "You are the most beautiful and amazing girl I have ever met. Every time I'm with you, you always manage to make me happy. Yes, sometimes you annoy the life out of me, but I know at the end of the day it's all worth it."

He paused, took another deep breath, and continued. "I've been trying my best to take things slowly and do it the right way because I know it's very important to you but, I just can't do it anymore. I can't pretend that I don't want to be with you and only you. I want to be yours and I want you to be mine.

So what I'm really trying to say is... Tracey, will you do me the honor of being my beautiful and amazing girlfriend?"

By the end of his speech, I felt tears streaming freely down my cheeks. It took me a minute to fully absorb everything he said, and when I did, my heart swelled with happiness. I was getting tired of pretending that Aiden wasn't all I thought about from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. And even then, I still dream of him. He makes me so happy and I just can't... process everything I'm feeling right now. I just know that I want to be his.

"I was wondering when you would ask. Yes! Yes, yes, yes!"

Aiden let out a breath that I'm pretty sure he didn't know he was holding, and laughed in relief. And before I knew it, his lips were on mine.

At first he went slow, but when he was sure that I was responding to him, he deepened the kiss. I gasped a little in surprise, and he used that to gain entrance. Our tongues explored each other's mouths as our kiss deepened further, and we fell back on the blanket with him on top of me.

We stayed like this for God knows how long, just enjoying each other. Everything else disappeared, and in that moment, I was in complete and total bliss.

______________________

First thing's first, I'm so sorry! I've had the most major case of writer's block and I just could not think of what to write! I also found this book that was totally amazing and I think that contributed to why I couldn't focus on mine but that's not important now!

So as a treat, I made this chapter drama free and super sweet and mushy, bordering on nauseating! You're welcome! But, it's back to the drama next chapter!

I WILL update this Sunday. I solemnly swear...that I am up to no good. Sorry. Couldn't resist. And I know I'm reaching the point of babbling probably but I've started writing and now it's a little hard to stop.

Until next time!

- Theaa :)

*Song for this chapter is Chivalry Is Dead by Trevor Wesley (trust me the song isn't what the title implies, lol) just because wasn't Aiden just the sweetest gentleman in this chapter?
