Yuri sat at the kitchen table, scrolling through social media while waiting for her waffles. Rubbing her sleepy eyes she heard the waffles pop up. Standing up she sluggishly walked over to the toaster, hearing the front door open she sighed.

Not even a drop of coffee before her pest of a cousin invaded her life for three months.

"AYOOOOOOOO WHAT'S POPPIN?"

His deepened voice echoed through her soul. Tightly closing her eyes and sighing she turned around.

"Guess who's back!?"

"Why are you so amped up this early?" Yuri muttered, turning around.

"I don't know, the long drive got me a little jittery-" Jungkook shrugged his shoulders.

"You live 25 minutes away! What long drive?"

"Loosen up, your favorite cousin is back!"

"You're my only cousin. . ."

"Can I have some?" He asked, eyeing up her waffles.

"Yes,"

"Just tell me where they are and I'll make them."

Yuri picked up her phone to text her best friend.

"Are you complaining about me already?" Jungkook chuckled.

"I guess silence means yes. Anywho, Taehyung, and Jimin wanted to go to the arcade tonight. We'll probably get food and walk around the mall or something. You wanna come?" He turned around looking at her.

"Probably, I don't have anything else to do. I'll see if Hyunji can come."

His head popped up when he heard her name.

"Hyunji, I haven't seen her in a year or two huh?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's been a while. Good for her." Yuri laughed.

"Stop it!" Jungkook rolled his eyes. "We're gonna have a good time. Plus, with Jimin and Taehyung I'll have plans with them anyways."

"Yeah, you should be busy. Too bad you don't have a girlfriend to keep you company. . ."

"Too bad you don't have a boyfriend to keep you in line."

"Touche."

Hyunji stirred her dog's food before putting it down for him. Now she had no more excuses for why she couldn't ask her mom if she could go out with Yuri.

Hearing the door open she looked up, took her headphones out, re-rehearsing how she would ask her mother. The jiggling of keys finally came to a stop as her mom put her purse down.

"Hey, how was work?" Hyunji asked.

"Eh, the usual." Her mom hugged her, kissing her cheek.

"Dinner is in the microwave."

"Thank you! Perfect, I'm starving." Haneul smiled.

Haneul petted Jay, the dog that was impatiently waiting for a greeting and he wiggled all around. Hyunji awkwardly stood there waiting for her mom's attention.

"So Yuri is going to the arcade in the mall later. . . And she wanted me to come."

"Okay, when?"

"Tonight."

"Oh. . . Who will be going?"

"Her brother and Jimin."

"So you're gonna hang out with boys huh?"

"She wants me to come so she won't be stuck with them. Mom, that's her brother that'd be really weird, just stop, please. I'm trying to hang out with my best friend and not be stuck in the house the entire summer."

"Is her mom gonna be there?"

"Yes." I don't know.

"I'll let you know."

___________

Hyunji was sick of the way her mother treated her. She couldn't do, wear, or say anything. Let alone go somewhere without a chaperone. At least with her father in America for three months it was one less nagging parent to tell her how to live her life.

She was seventeen for god's sake, couldn't she decide how she wanted to dress or what to watch? According to her parents, no.

Sighing as she walked to her room, Jay quickly followed behind her. Plopping on her bed Hyunji grabbed her laptop towards her. Opening it up she put in her password.

ctrl+shift+N

As a new screen came up before her fingers could hit the keys she heard the footsteps of her mom. Exing out of the screen before she could even finish typing in the search bar she sighed, looking at the doorway.

"You can go tonight. Just reply to my texts, and be safe." Haneul spoke, making Hyunji's head shoot up.

"Really? Thanks." Hyunji perked up, a smile residing where her frown previously was.

___________

"Should we take separate cars or pack into one?" Jimin asked, standing in the driveway with the others.

Hyunji looked up and saw Jungkook, they made eye contact before she looked away. Hands in his pocket, he strode over to her, knowing she wouldn't make the first move to say hi.

"Hey, long time no see huh?" He grinned.

Oh god, within the year gap they haven't seen each other it's like Jungkook hit puberty all over again. Yet, Hyunji was still waiting for a second glow-up he seemed to have gotten.

His soft features were now more masculine; his jawline was now noticeably sharp, Jungkook definitely grew taller too, and his voice- oh my his voice. The last time she saw him, Jungkook's screechy voice constantly cracked, embarrassing him. But now his voice was deep, not too deep, but enough to make her never want him to stop talking.

"Yeah, it's been a while." Hyunji breathed out, "I guess we'll be seeing more of each other this summer."

"Definitely. I'm sure Yuri has complained to you about me, but we'll have fun."

"I hope so,"

"Maybe we can hangout some mo-"

"You two losers are stuck in the back cuz Jungkook can't stop gawking at Hyunji!!" Jimin shouted across the yard. "Pay attention, my god!"

"I am not gawking at her, I'm having a conversation!" Jungkook replied as his cheeks got flustered.

"Get your butts over here and get in the back so we can get this show on the roll."

The pair looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

Jungkook sighed. "Well, I guess we should get going."

Climbing in the back and hunching over, Jungkook sat down, Hyunji following.

"Do you want me to sit back there instead?" Yuri grumbled, clearly not wanting to.

"It's fine," Hyunji spoke.

Putting on her seatbelt, Jungkook did the same, their hands brushing against each other. Jungkook muttered a quick 'sorry' before pulling away. As the car started moving they leaned back in their seats getting comfortable, listening to Taehyung and Jimin bicker as usual.

Jungkook's thigh was pressed against hers in the tight space. Not looking at him she knew she was already blushing.

"Is that alright?" He looked at her, seeing the redness of her cheeks.

"Yeah, it's fine." Hyunji smiled.

"Good."

Jungkook scooted closer to her, putting his hand on her thigh as he gazed up at her, leaning in to whisper into her ear.

"Is this alright?" Jungkook teased.

Hyunji stiffened as she got nervous at his close contact. He pushed her hair out of the way to press his lips against her neck sensually slowly, letting her feel his plush lips on her skin. She got goosebumps and nearly shivered at the feeling.

"Jungkook!" She gasped.

"Shh, be quiet." He muttered.

Sucking on her earlobe as his hand slid up her thigh Jungkook saw the effect it had on her. His hand caressed her cheek as he left soft kisses on her jawline. Moving down to her neck Jungkook's teeth grazed her skin before he nipped at her neck, hearing her quietly moan. Slipping his hands under the loose material of her shorts his thumb teasingly ran the outline of her underwear-

"Sorry, it's a little cramped back here." Jungkook pulled his leg away from hers.

"What?" Hyunji looked at him, coming back to reality.

"I said sorry- Why are your cheeks so red?"

"It's hot."

"For real, it's like a sauna back here. Yo! Can we get some air back here Tae? Do you want us to have a heat stroke!?"

"Give me a second! I'm busy-"

"Busy moving your mouth."

After the loud car ride to the mall, they all went inside, heading to the arcade. While Jimin, Taehyung, and Yuri loudly bickered, Hyunji and Jungkook stayed in the back of the group. Being the quieter members out of them all, the comfortable silence around them was just enough.

"I guess you're a lil' more of an introvert?" Jungkook looked at her.

"Yeah, I've always been fine on my own." Hyunji replied, "You?"

"I don't have siblings, so I learned to entertain myself at a young age. I have a hard time finding friends-"

"Which is how you got stuck with Jimin and Taehyung." She joked.

"Yeah, you could say so." He laughed.

Seeing the beaming rainbow of lights the group walked inside the loud arcade. Getting ready to waste plenty of coins on the rigged machines they happily looked around.

"C'mon Jungkook!" Taehyung called him.

Jungkook looked at Hyunji as if to say bye, his lips curving into a smile before walking away.

Yuri grabbed Hyunji's hand before pulling her along, navigating through the crowded building.

"How awkward was it being in the back with Kook?" She asked.

"It wasn't that bad. He doesn't talk that much." Hyunji replied.

"What!?" She chuckled. "Trust me as you get to know him over the summer when he's close to someone you can't shut him up."

"Oh really?"

"Trust me he's better when he's quiet."

___________

"Wow, looks like our boy might have a little crush." Jimin nudged Taehyung, looking at Jungkook walk towards them.

"He has always had a lil' crush on Ji." Taehyung chuckled, "He won't admit it though."

"Who won't admit what?" Jungkook looked at them both.

"Nothing." The older two laughed.

"What is it?"

"C'mon let's go play basketball." Taehyung started walking away.

"You mean the one that looks completely rigged?"

"Exactly that one."

______________

"I don't know why you are so annoyed with Jimin's existence, he's funny!" Hyunji looked at Yuri.

"Then marry him." Yuri cringed. "If you spend enough time with him you'll see."

"I think you two would be cute together."

"Eww!"

"What? He's cute and I think it would work out"

"Just stop. If we're about to go into the photobooth I don't wanna look disgusted."

"Fine."

After an abundance of poses, flashes, and laughter they both came out. Seeing the three guys coming toward them.

"I did not bring y'all here for you guys to take some lousy selfies." Taehyung rolled his eyes. "Come play air hockey with me, Yuri. Clearly, we need to split these two up."

"You go find Ji something to do." He said to Jimin.

When Jungkook turned his head Tahyung looked at Hyunji and Jungkook before winking at Jimin.

"So Ji, what do you like to play?" Jimin asked.

"Umm......."

"Okay you're taking too long, come over here."

Jungkook and Hyunji looked around at the different games but neither of them would choose. Jungkook would've played just about anything but he wanted Hyunji to enjoy herself too. But he didn't know what she liked, she surely wasn't the same twelve-year-old that he used to play tag with in the backyard. Hyunji's curves only attested to that, he noticed how she also changed physically and it wasn't disappointing.

"You guys are just BORING!" Jimin shouted, sitting in one of the chairs, and grabbing onto the steering wheel in front of him. "C'mon sit down so we can race cars at least, my god. . ."

"Stop shouting everything." Jungkook rolled his eyes, sitting down.

Hyunji sat between the two guys hesitantly. As Hyunji pulled out her wallet Jungkook pushed a card into her hands.

"You have a card for the arcade?" Hyunji quietly asked.

"My parents got it for me so. . . ."

Jimin cringed at how awkward and unconfident Jungkook sounded. Noting to give him a few tips and a good pep talk later.

"Oh, really?"

"Well, when your parents ditch you for the summer to go on vacation themselves they try to make it up to you. But a gift card for an arcade doesn't equate to seeing the Eiffel Tower or London."

"That sucks, my dad's been trying to convince my mom to go on vacation alone without me now that I'm older."

"That's what my dad did."

"Dad's." They both sighed at the same time before quietly laughing.

"At least my dad is in America for the summer so I get a little break." Hyunji chuckled.

"Oh? Why?" Jungkook asked, hoping he wasn't being too nosy.

"Setting up an expansion for the company there and overlook everything."

"Any day now. . . ." Jimin pretended to fall asleep in the chair.

Hyunji swiped the card and handed it back to Jungkook, thanking him. The game began and Jimin found out his machine was conveniently broken. Sitting back sighing he watched the other two play against each other. Hyunji was failing miserably as Jungkook finished the first lap with flying colors.

As the second round was about to begin a frustrated sigh left Hyunji's lips.

"I'm so bad at these!" She whined.

Jimin immediately saw Jungkook relax his tense muscles and lean back in the chair. Easing up on his competitive side to let Hyunji win. His car trailed behind hers, briefly getting in front before falling behind again. Jimin smirked and quietly laughed to himself.

He's letting her win.

Amused by Jungkook, Jimin sat back in his seat enjoying the show. While Hyunji's car passed the finish line, she couldn't help but smile. Oh, if only she knew how he purposely flipped his car into the lake and drove at the speed of his grandma walking. . .

"Wow, you should be proud of yourself! Jungkook spent most of his life cooped up in his room playing video games cuz' he can't socialize. Or talk to girls, and he doesn't like to do anything school related, now that I think about it he doesn't have hobbies-" Jimin rambled on, embarrassing the younger boy next to him.

"Jimin! Mind your business. I do have hobbies!"

"Stop being mean to him Jimin," Hyunji chimed in.

"Oh, look at you defending him. Then list your hobbies, Jeon."

"Uh, I like drawing, painting, photography, a-and singing. . .?"

"I think those are some cool hobbies." Hyunji looked at him.

"Thank you Hyunji! At least someone is on my side." Jungkook grinned.

"Can you sing for me one time?"

A childish giggle left his lips as he shook his head no, his locks of hair dancing around as he did so.

"I don't sing for people!" His cheeks flushed red.

"He does have a beautiful voice, I have to say. Sounds like an angel from heaven- Minus the angel part. He's not as innocent as he looks."

"Shut up!" Jungkook gave Jimin a piercing glare, "You're making me sound like some creep in front of Hyunji!"

"Why are you tryna look good in front of Ji?"

"I'm not trying to look good you're taking it out of proportion, I'm just trying not to look like a creep-"

"Ok, ok! Ji, he's not a creep, he's just a virgin. But not the innocent kind for sure, I heard he got viruses on his laptop-"

"Why are you screaming that to the entire arcade!?"

"You don't have to be embarrassed, I'm like 99.9% sure Ji still has her V-card too."

"Jimin shut your mouth!" Hyunji slapped his shoulder.

Jimins hysterical laugh filled their ears as he grabbed onto the chair, trying not to fall. Shaking her head and sighing, Hyunji walked away.

"Don't make her uncomfortable." Jungkook told Jimin.

"I'm not, I've known her longer than you have. I know my boundaries with ladies, you don't have to be so protective." Jimin bumped his shoulder against Jungkooks. "Go over there with her so she's not alone. Make your moves."

The moves you don't have. Jimin thought to himself.
