Thirty Nine

Hyunji's parents sat on the couch watching the news as they drank coffee. They were making an attempt to spend time together before they were right back at work the following week. Seojin was still very jet lagged and in a different time zone, he slept in again and by the time he came downstairs he hadn't even seen his daughter.

"Where's Hyunji?" Seojin asked.

"Yuri's." Hanuel replied.

Hyunji was as Yuri's for most of the previous days. The day before Seojin barely even saw her.

"Mhm, was she there a lot this summer?" He asked.

"Thats what she said. I was at work so she'd take Jay and go swimming over there almost everyday." His wife responded.

"I don't remember her being there that much last summer."

Hyunji didn't have a secret boyfriend to go see last summer either.

Seojin was merely trying to spend some time with her before she was off at school and he was at work. But she was making it a little difficult to say the least.

____________

Hyunji sighed looking at the clock, a pout formed on her bottom lip. It was time for Jungkook to leave and go pick up her parents.

She spent yesterday and today attached to Jungkook's hip practically. They got complaints from Yuri about their PDA. But Taehyung complained the most about hearing them have sex through his walls, again. Something Tae wouldn't have to hear anymore, which he was very thankful for. They weren't wasting any time together.

Hyunji could only think of ways to stall and get him to stay with her even just a minute longer. Laying cuddled up in his bed she had her head on his chest and her arm tightly around his petite waist.

"I should get going, Princess." He muttered, he heard her whine.

She got too used to him being around. Jungkook was now a part of her everyday routine. It's like she wouldn't remember how to breathe without him there. He was her best friend, she was his. Though they weren't physically more than twenty minutes away her parents would make everything ten times harder, she wasn't looking forward to it.

As soon as he left the driveway her summer vacation would come to an end. It was almost as if it was a dream Hyunji didn't want to wake up from.

Jungkook sat up, forcing Hyunji to do the same. His parents were likely tired from their plane ride so the last thing they wanted was for him to be late. Even if he didn't want to, he had to leave to go get them.

"I'm sorry, baby." He kissed her forehead.

"It's okay. I should get back home anyways." Hyunji stood up.

They walked downstairs together and Jungkook said goodbye to his family before heading to the door. Hyunji grabbed his waist and pulled him into a tight hug, putting her head on his chest.

Jungkook hated seeing her sad little puppy eyes. She almost looked like she was going to cry.

"Don't be upset. We'll see each other in a couple days. I'll be blowing up your phone till then, okay Princess?" He said, making eye contact.

"Mhm. I love you. Text when you get home." Hyunji begrudgingly let go of her tight grasp around his waist.

"I love you more."

Hyunji shook her head no with a smile on her face. He leaned in and softly pressed his lips against hers, as he said goodbye. Their lips lingered on eachother not wanting the loss of contact as they pulled away.

Unbeknownst to them Taehyung sat on the couch, eavesdropping on their every word. A grin formed on his lips as he listened to them. They were so in love. He couldn't be happier for them.

______________

Jungkook sat down at the table the hostess seated them at, glancing at the menu. His parents were more than happy to see him, engulfing him in a big and embarrassingly long hug in the middle of the airport. He was just as joyful to see them, but he didn't need a two minute long hug either.

The long plane ride had them famished and they insisted on going to their favorite restaurant, missing the authentic Korean food they had missed out on.

"You heard all around us in the car. What did you do in our absence?" Aruem, his mother asked.

She really just wanted to get back on the topic of him having a girlfriend, without being too obvious.

"You already know most of what I did. We just chilled at the beach house mostly. I went to a restaurant with Hyunji and we were at the beach." Jungkook said, unconsciously bringing her up which is just what they wanted.

"Why don't you tell us more about Hyunji?" His father smirked. "We're still surprised we leave for a couple months and come back and our sons dating!"

"I don't know why me having a girlfriend is so surprising!" Jungkook rolled his eyes, his parents chuckled but still waiting for his answer. "Hyunji's the best. She's pretty, got a sense of humor, and is very caring."

Oh, he could go on and on. Just thinking about her made his heartbeat speed up.

"I can't wait to meet her. She knows about Sunday right?" His mom beamed.

"Yes." Jungkook responded.

"And she knows where we live? Or are you picking her up?"

"I don't know, I think she's driving. But yes she knows where we live."

"Oh I bet she's been there before." His father pretended to cough.

Jungkook knew exactly what he was implying, yet he couldn't deny it. Though she was only there once or twice.

"Are you guys ready to order, or do you need a few more minutes?" The waitress came and asked.
