Prologue.

Aurora Williams twisted in her chair uncomfortably.

Did she regret punching the guy in the face? No.

Did she think that also kneeing him in the nuts was a little too much? Maybe.

Should she have also done the swimming pool prank on the same day? Probably not.

Was it hilarious when Sally Mahoney jumped in the pool only to land in jelly? Absolutely.

Was she looking forward to her dad coming? Oh hell no.

Darren also shifted in the seat opposite her and her attention was drawn to him. He was holding an ice pack to his right eye which was the one she had punched. She couldn't help shooting him an evil grin that made him cower even more in his seat.

The boys in her school were wimps. Seriously, one punch from a girl and they were already crying for their mother. She had endured much more when her dad was going through his alcohol drinking phase and had a habit of throwing his bottle at her.

She did have a valid reason for punching him though, he had been doing the same for some poor girl. Since she was small, Aurora couldn't stand guys who hit girls. She also couldn't stand girls who let boys walk all over them.

"Miss. Williams and Mr. Danford, the principal will see you now," the secretary said her mouth set in a thin line.

"Miss. Williams isn't this the third time this month?" She asked as Aurora stood up and she fought the urge to roll her eyes.

When she said it like that it made her sound like some troublemaker or something.

"You know I miss you too much Mrs. M when I don't drop in at least once a month," was the charming response Aurora gave that made the secretary smile just a little bit.

She walked into the principal's office which had become a second home to her.

"You know, I like what you've done with the place. I always knew cream would be a way better colour," she complimented as she sat down. The last time she was here the room was painted white but now it was cream.

"It really brings the whole room together," she finished meeting the principal's stern eyes.

"Miss. Williams, what did you do this time?" He asked already sounding exhausted.

"Why do you suspect it was me?" She asked narrowing her eyes at him. This was always how their meetings started.

The principal gave an exaggerated sigh before turning to Darren, "Mr. Danford, what did Miss. Williams do to you?"

Aurora rolled her eyes as Darren started stuttering away, making sure to place all the blame on her. He even made sure to mention that he didn't fight back because she was a girl.

I mean the school bad boy couldn't have the principal thinking that a girl kicked his ass fair and square.

"Miss. Williams, do you have anything to say for yourself?" The principal asked her and she just shrugged.

What was the use of trying to defend herself when she knew that she was going to get punished either way?

"Well Miss. Williams, I would like you to first apologise to Mr. Sanford before he leaves and we can decide on your punishment," the principal said.

Darren was looking mighty smug before he heard what Aurora had to say, "Apolo-what-now? Apologise? The world should be thanking me especially if he loses the ability to reproduce. I mean, do you really want his little munchkins to walk this earth?"

The principal felt a headache coming on. Since Aurora joined this school he had started scheduling a lot more appointments with his shrink. She was one of the best in academics, actually she was the best, but she also had a knack for getting into trouble every other second.

"Apologise, Miss. Williams," he ordered again and Aurora pouted.

"Fine," she finally agreed and then turned to Darren with the most sincere look she could muster, "I'm sorry......that you were born a douchebag who beats girls to feel better about yourself."

The principal face palmed. He should have just taken the job as a blackjack dealer in Vegas.

"Mr. Danford, please leave. I would like to talk to Miss. Williams privately," the principal said waving him off.

"I'm going to get you back for this," Darren whispered to Aurora as he passed.

"Oh please, your mouth is writing cheques your balls are too sore to cash," Aurora shot back rolling her eyes. Darren looked mortified before walking out of the office.

"So Mr. C, I know what you want to talk about. How exactly will you pay me back for saving that poor girl in the hallway earlier? I have to say I'm greatly touched by your efforts but since I am such a humble person, no payment will be necessary," all through Aurora's speech the principal fixed her with an unimpressed look.

"I want to talk about the swimming pool incident," The principal said finally.

Aurora looked at him blankly, "What swimming pool incident?"

"Someone filled the whole swimming pool with jelly," the principal explained.

"What an ingenious plan! I mean who could even do such a thing?" Aurora's said looking greatly offended.

"So you want to say that the incident at hand has no connection to something you wrote on you posted on your YouTube page a few days ago? You explained how to drain a swimming pool and fill it with jelly online," the principal said.

"Awwww. You've subscribed to my YouTube page, Mr. C?" She asked and couldn't help being fluttered.

"Yes, I am quite a fan of the joke of the day," the principal admitted not being able to control his embarrassment.

"Man, did you hear the one about the three nuns and the duck?" Aurora asked relaxing as she laughed.

The principal was about to smile when he remembered why they were there in the first place, "Yes, it was quite funny but what I want to know is who was responsible for the swimming pool incident."

"I don't have the slightest idea but I promise you that when I hear something you'll be the first to know," Aurora said giving him her sweetest smile. Truthfully, the whole school knew she was the one who did it but there was no evidence connecting her to the incident and she knew her friends would never rat her out.

"Well back to the previous matter. My first response when we heard about the fight the board voted on suspending you..." The principal informed her.

Aurora had a feeling that there was a but coming along that would make her life a lot more complicated

"...but your father convinced the board otherwise," the principal explained and Aurora's expression immediately turned stormy.

Convinced otherwise was translated into daddy dearest donating a whole truckload of money to some school project.

"Trust me I would rather pick suspension over whatever else my dad is offering," Aurora said flatly. It wasn't a matter left for discussion.

"I'm just informing you that your suspension will be a three week long one. Which means by the time you're done we'll be closing school so you wouldn't have taken part in the exams. Your grade will be recorded as a Y which will warrant immediate expulsion," he said with a grim face.

She could feel panic rising. Expulsion was bad, real bad. She couldn't get expelled.

"Well, Miss. Williams, I think we're done here," the principal said taking her silence as her throwing in the towel. He stood up from his seat, "Your father should be here soon."

"Perfect just perfect," Aurora muttered standing up from her seat.

She walked out of the office making her way to the hostels when she bumped into someone. After landing very disgracefully on the floor she looked up to snap at whoever it was. She wasn't in the mood to deal with anyone.

"I am so sorry," a small voice called out and I looked up to see the girl I had saved from Darren.

I stood up quickly and looked at her, "Its no problem."

"Um I wanted to tell you tha...," she stopped talking as Dede waved her gratitude off.

"Don't thank me just stand up for yourself next time," Aurora said walking off. She had other things to think about.

First off, she knew the was no chance in hell that her father was coming. The man had never made a single step into the school, he wasn't about to start now. Her mum on the other hand....

She shook her head removing the thought from her mind. It was not time to get all depressed.

Her dad wasn't about to call either. He liked surprising her with his plans, so that she didn't have enough time to come up with reasons not to do it. Most likely, he would end up showing up on the screen of a tablet brought to her by her personal driver on the last day of school.

She sighed, touching her head which was thumping. What was the use of trying to guess the impossible?
