Miss Jackson
Gerard and I drove to IHOP and got some pancakes. I got a mean look from one of the waiters when I asked if they had any waffles. Gerard then explained to me the restaurant name and why they didn't have any. International House Of Pancakes. I never knew.
"Waffles. Seriously? You never knew it was International House of Pancakes?" He asked me. I laughed and tried to drink down some coffee. I hated it, the coffee that is.
"I never knew. This is really the first time I've been here."
"Of all the years we've been best friends. I never knew that. What else haven't you done?" I looked at my coffee and tried to pretend it was talking to me in an invisible way so that I could avoid the conversation. "Dallas?"
"Huh? Oh, what?"
"What else haven't you done?"
"Road trips. Mattress jumping. Karaoke. Watching an over rated R movie. Lots of stuff."
"I have a movie you need to see."
"Ugh if it comes out of your dirty mind and you have to say "I have a movie you have to see," then I probably don't want to see it."
"It's not that bad."
"What's it rated?" I asked him.
"X. And it's actually banned in the UK."
"That's a good sign to not watch it then." We ate in silence that was filled with the penetrating glares of the waiter I asked for waffles. I really messed up. I'm sorry. But seriously no waffles? That's freaking American breakfast food! You can't leave out waffles. That's prejudice. Even Waffle House serves pancakes. Right? I think they do. I honestly can't remember. I'm pretty sure they do, i don't know. Probably not though. They shouldn't because those waffles are fucking amazing!!!
"Anyway, what's going on in the Dallasverse?" Gerard asked me forking the last piece of his blueberry waffle into his mouth. I shrugged. He looked at me rather skeptical.
"Well recently I met Brendon Urie and I think I may have accidentally broke up him and his girlfriend."
"What! That's awesome! That dudes a jerk." I hit him playfully.
"No he's not, he's a real nice guy." He gave me a skeptical look. I was looking away so of course when I saw him he made me jump. "We're just friends."
"Us?"
"No, Brendon and I. You're my boyfriend...at least that's what I got from our kiss. But if you want to be just friends we-"
"NOPE! Boyfriend is fine." He said. I laughed and then we left. Gerard and I held hands as we walked down the sidewalk. "So...how did you break him and Sarah up?"
"It's a long story."
"I don't have to be at band practice till 4."
"Well Brendon invited me over there-"
"when was this?"
"Before we started dating, anyway, I left my car keys there and then the next day I went over there and got my car keys but his girlfriend was there. She thought he cheated on her with me but I didn't. She told him she wanted to break up."
"Sounds like her fault for being too quick to judge."
"Yeah. But she was not nice." Gerard chuckled and tried to hide his laughs while drinking his orange juice. I rolled my eyes at him and smiled. He was a goofball. I sighed and pushed my plate to the middle of the table. Gerard stood up and I followed, hooking my elbow with his. Gerard paid despite my arguments of me paying. He wanted to be a gentleman, his words not mine. Then he took me to his place and asked me to stay for his band practice. Since we had been best friends since god knows when, I was like his band manager and would help out in anyway I could. I got along with all of his friends.
"We've been working on a new album, I want you to hear some of it." Gerard said to me. I sat myself on a stool and watched as they got their instruments and readied the first chords. "I hope you'll like it."
"Anything you guys write and play will always be good. At least...I'll always say it is good. I don't have the heart to say anything else."
"That was almost a compliment."
"I'm not a sentimental person."
"That's why I love you." He said and kissed me on the forehead. I smiled and Mikey rolled his eyes. "You guys ready?!" He half yelled. They yelled a chorus of okays.
Miss Jackson's POV
...
"Man guys. That was awesome!" I said. They cheered and smiled. High fives were passed around. "Let's go celebrate!"
"Celebrate what?" Mikey asked.
"Your new album."
"Oh. Okay." We got into my car and we went to Starbucks. Gerard loved coffee. I loved coffee. Oh it's perfect. Gee's hair needed re-dying, the red color was almost back to brown.
"Where's your mind at Dallas?" Gerard asked.
"Huh? Oh! Sorry. I guess I was in the deep recesses of my brain. Like Mikey."
"I'm not some emo freak, you know. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to lay my head on this table and think about death." I laughed.
"Frankie do you need a high chair or something?" Ray joked. "Maybe a phone book?"
"Ha-ha. Very funny." He said. "You joke now but I will rule the world."
"Aww...it's so cute when you pretend to be an evil mastermind." Gerard said and tussled his hair. Frank pulled away from his reach.
"You're embarrassing me, stop it." He whined.
"Just drink your coffee."
"It's too hot." Frank said folding his arms and putting on a pouty face.
"Oh you poor baby." I said. He rolled his eyes.
"Oh hey look it's your friend...Brendon." He stressed Brendon's name. Sure enough his messy side-swept hair and big glasses self, walked in.
"Hey Dallas...and Dallas's friend."
"Gerard Way...her boyfriend." He said and shook Brendon's hand. They stood there still shaking hands.
"Brendon Urie...friend...okay dude you're hurting my hand..." I flashed a look at Gerard and he let go of Brendon's hand.
"Sorry dude. I guess I don't know the power of my own strength." he made strength stand out.
"Aha... I see that." Brendon said wiping his brow and looking at me nervously. "So...hey Dallas." I waved.
"Hey Brendon." There was a moment of silence where everyone's eyes were on us. Gerard eyed Brendon carefully.
"Ow! This coffee's still hot..." Frank whined.
"Frank we're talking! Be quiet!" Mikey said.
"No one was talking!"
"The ghosts were. Don't be rude." Mikey said.
"You're so emo." Frank said. "Yay! My coffee is room temperature now!" I sighed and returned to looking at Brendon. Beautiful eyes...
"Ahem." Brendon cleared his throat and I snapped back to the real world. Brendon sighed. Gerard looked from me to him.
"O-kay! This has been fun but I think it's time for Brendon to leave."
"What? No! I didn't get my coffee yet." Gerard looked at him. "You know what, I'm not thirsty."
"Good choice." Gerard said.
"Okay. Well. Bye Dallas. Bye Dallas's boyfriend. Bye Dallas's boyfriend's friends." We waved. "Man I wanted that coffee." He muttered as he left. I laughed and looked at Gerard.
"He's a nice guy." Gerard said.
"You pretty much shoved him out the door. I think he's afraid. You did see him right? He's skinny and tiny."
"He should be afraid."
"Gosh..."
"Gerard is jealous! Gerard is jealous!" Frank sing-songed.
"Frank. The grown-ups are talking. Shh!" Mikey said.
"Dude! I'm 34!"
"Yeah but you act like you're 3."
"Nuh-uh!" Frank looked down. Mikey laughed. "Shut up."
"Brendon is just a friend." I said.
"I know. I'm not jealous."
"You totally are. By a show of hands who thinks Gerard is jealous?" Ray, Mikey, Bob, and my hand went up. Mikey turned to Frank.
"Frank!"
"I'm not a grown-up apparently, so I'm not old enough to vote." He said crossing his arms and closing his eyes, like a child.
"Frank!"
"Excuse me? Did you say something? You know children have short attention spans."
"Good gosh Frank, you're 34!"
"Yeah, stop pouting and raise your hand."
"Fine!" He raised his hand.
"See everyone agrees." I said. "Wait where's Bob?"
"I'm right here."
"Oh. I guess he left."
"Guys I'm right here."
"Too bad." Mikey shrugged.
"Yeah." I sighed.
"Guys! I'm right here!"
"Oh! Bob when did you get here?" Ray asked.
"What! I've been here the--oh never mind." He sighed.
"I'm not jealous!" Gerard said.
"Yes you are. I'll prove it." I grabbed Bob's phone out of his hand.
"Hey what are you--" Bob yelled.
"Shh. Here." I showed him a picture of Brendon. Gerard grabbed the phone and ran to the door. He threw the phone into the street where a car crushed it.
"That was my phone!" Bob yelled.
"No one cares!" I yelled. "You're jealous." I said to Gerard.
"Maybe a little." Bob excused himself to go outside and screamed many times before coming back inside.
"I feel better." He said.
"Ooh muffin!" Frank said stealing Bob's muffin. "Yummy."
"It's like I'm invisible.'
"Huh? Did you say something Bob?" Frank asked.
"Yep." Frank shrugged and went to town on the muffin.
"Brendon is just my friend, okay?"
"Okay."
"Besides what would I want with him? I have the most perfect boyfriend already."
"Who is he?! I'll pound him..."
"I meant you, you dork."
"Oh." He said rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I guess this jealousy thing is a problem."
"Yeah. But you're cute." I said. He smiled and hugged me. "Let's go to a movie or something."
"That sounds nice. Guys?"
"Go ahead you crazy kids. Have fun. Be smart. Be safe. Stay together. We'll pick you up at 5."
"Anything else before we go?" Gerard asked.
"I used your toothbrush this morning." Mikey responded. Gerard shrugged,
"I don't care."
"Then I accidentally dropped it in the toilet."
"You WHAT! How is that even POSSIBLE!"
"I may or may not have been dancing when I was brushing my teeth."
"You're an idiot." Gerard said. Mikey nodded.
"Have a good time!" Frank yelled. "Here Bob, here's your muffin." Gerard and I left.
"Oh. Thanks. It's just blueberries. Thanks." Frank smiled and patted Bob on the back.
