Harper was dreading the weekend by the time it came around; there was no way James' plan would work. It was madness she thought. His face was all over newspapers, the internet and even books so how could he possibly change so no one would notice. And she would have to come up with suitable lie to persuade Dani to allow this stranger to come. And what's saying James won't use this as an opportunity to threaten Duke. Harper sighed as she flopped back onto the couch. Just as she did, Dani entered the living area rambling onto Duke who was hot on her trail.

"Dani, come on tell me." Duke persisted, the irritation within his tone. Dani shook her head as she sat on the opposite couch to Harper.

"What's going on?" Harper asked, limiting eye contact with Duke. Instead it wasn't Dani to answer instead Duke as he mumbled. "She won't tell me where we are going." He sighed as he flopped down next to Dani.

"I want it to be a surprise!" Dani exclaimed. "Patience boy." She rolled eyes chuckling to herself. Duke pouted folding his arms across his chest. "I've been patient enough, you two have been off to work and I've been left here alone." Dani frowned. "Awh, Duke. You've should have booked to see us when we were off work."

"How was I supposed to know?" He grumbled. Dani laughed giving him a side hug as she pinched his cheek, as if he was rather a small smile. "Well, we'll make it up to you today. Okay? Fun, fun is all we gonna do. Right Harper?"

Harper nodded trying a smile. "Course. I...actually have to tell you something-

However before she could even finish her sentence, bell upon the door went off. Dani grumbled slouching her shoulders as she took no effort in breaking for the door, instead rather like a slug trailed over there before taking a peek through the peek hole.

"Who's this? Harper, anyone you know? Duke?" She muttered, confusion written all over her face. Harper got up quickly scurrying over as she took a look through, immediately her face dropped however she tried to make it look not as oblivious as she stood back looking to the floor. Duke followed after and shrugged his shoulders. "Not a clue. Want me to have this punk?" He said. Dani snorted. "Punk?"

Harper piped in. "Actually I might. Give me a second." There was something familiar about this person. In unison Dani and Duke both frowned watching as Harper opened the door, their curiosity as they tried to look over her shoulder. Harper shoot the door behind them, this time able to take closer look at this stranger. "Can...I help you?" She muttered. The figure smirked holding their hands out gesturing towards their face. "Harper, its James. Your boss who at the moment is offended you wouldn't be able to recognise me." He said. Harper's eyes widened as the realisation sunk in. She could hear the whispers of her roommate and Duke by the door so holding her finger towards her lips gestured him to follow her down the path. James cocked his eyebrow but didn't protest as she led him up back to her car, which she might add wasn't his and rather wouldn't be something he would be caught dead driving.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, noticing the flicker of blinds within their apartment through the corner of her eye. They were watching. James leaned on the car, his head resting against his hand as he just continued to smirk. "What you're not at all bothered by my appearance?" Harper then only took in the fact his brown, ruffled hair was replaced with blonde curls rather than the one she was used to and enjoyed running her hands through.

"What did you do to your hair?" She gasped. James' smirk didn't deflate. "I have a change. I told you I was coming and drastic measures were needed. So..." He kissed his teeth. "I changed hair colour." Harper glanced back towards the window cautious not to make a huge scene as she grumbled back. "It's not permanent is it?" James shook his head. "Baby, blonde isn't my colour. Of course it's temporarily." Harper sighed in relief before muttering. "I thought you were only joking when you said you were going to tag along."

James cocked his eyebrow. "Harper, do I look like I am not serious?" Harper locked eyes with him, a blush creeping upon her face.

Then she only gasped again. "Your eyes!" James rolled his eyes. "Yes, my eyes, blue. Colour contacts. Well done for noticing. Honestly Harper you're so slow." He smiled to himself as Harper continued to stare. James broke eye contact as he looked over to her apartment where he noticed two figures in the window. "So what's the plan for today?" He asked turning his attention back to Harper.

"I don't know as of yet. I still don't know what I am going to say to those two." She said. James grinned at her, without hesitation pushing a loose strand of hair from her face. Harper gulped her eyes flickering cautiously over towards the apartment. "James." She hissed. He frowned. "What? This is what a boyfriend, does right?" His smirk creeping back onto his lips. Harper froze, those words feeling like she had a bucket of cold water thrown upon her. James didn't know where those words came from, he was however more concerned why they did.

"Besides, it will be more believable, if I pretend to be your boyfriend." He said.

"Yeah...fake boyfriend." She confirmed, the numbness disappearing realising he wasn't actually committed to call her yet, with their status of their relationship right now unknown. She still had no clue where they stood but she didn't really think to question it, like the first time. Eventually she would have confront him. Nodding her head again she took a deep breath looking back over to the apartment then back to him. "So, I guess I better introduce you."

"Yes you should. How about I make it easier?" He grinned, then wetted his bottom lip before unexpectedly cupped her chin as he moved closer in, his lips brushing against hers softly setting her heart racing off. Harper bit her lip as his forehead remained to hers, a mischievous grin upon his lips. Harper smiled back, unable to control the pure comfort she felt against his lips. James winked pulling away as he wrapped his one arm across her shoulder. Harper felt like a hormonal teenager, the pure shivers that were running upon her spine as he led her onto the door. Before they even approached the door, Dani opened it with sudden urgency, her eyes widened in amazement as she looked from Harper to James. Harper was hoping inside, Dani wouldn't notice especially since his hair was changed, he had put in blue colour contacts and his usual formal attire was replaced with the boy-next door look that still made him look hot. The red and black flannel was doing his muscles justice, she would be dribbling as grossed as that sounded.

"W-Who is this?" Dani barely managed to say as she took a moment to take in this beauty of a man. James reached for Harper's hand squeezing it encouragingly before she took in surprise as he answered. "Hi, I'm Elliot." Harper was gobsmacked, he did just not go there. No he didn't, she narrowed her eyes at him as she took in turn to squeeze his hand but not in comfort rather like she trying to inflict pain which was not working comparing his hands to her petite hands.

Dani immediately cooed. "Oh Harper! You didn't tell me...the date it worked then. You're dating right?" James piped in again. "Oh you better believe it. Right babes?" His hand squeezing in return. Harper gritted her teeth as she smiled. "Yes. Sorry for not telling you Dani. It's all still a bit new for me." Harper squeezed down hard on his hand again but rather than crying in pain which was never going to happen, he laughed as Dani said something she didn't quite catch. Duke who she hadn't noticed until now, his eyes appeared to becoming darker piercing straight at James without no doubt.

"Yes me and Harper, well you could say we are the dream couple." He laughed. "Aren't we sweetheart?" Harper knew what he was playing at and only smiled back as she stepped on his foot harshly, getting no reaction at all.

"Awhh, just stop. I can't take it, you're such so cute together. Harper I am so happy for you." Dani cooed. Harper smiled falsely. "Thanks Dani...erm so I was wondering-

"What Harper is trying to say, she wanted me to tag along. An easier way to get to know me." He smiled. Dam that smile Harper thought as she watched Dani light up. "Of course. I wouldn't stop you two lovebirds. Duke, you don't mind do you?" She turned towards Duke who was leaning against the doorframe, his face numb.

"Oh you're Duke!" James blurted. "Oh I've heard so much about you." Harper could hear the sarcasm within his tone and see the mischievous smirk upon his lips as he cocked his eyebrow. Duke stood up straight no answering a word as he walked back in. Dani flopped her hands down. "Don't fret about him. He's just Mister Grumpy. I swear he's been different since-

Harper cut in. "Dani, why don't you get everything ready. I just need to talk to Elliot...here." Harper without no hesitation pulled on James' arm with as much as effort as possible as she dragged him around the side of the apartment in between another apartment. She pushed him against the wall, the smug smirk upon his lips as if had achieved something before she poked his chest. "How dare you use...Elliot as you're..." She failed in words as she grumbled to herself as James took no attention towards her lips but rather gazing down upon her breasts. "James!" She snapped, then only did he look and sighed. "Look, it was easier. Easier story your friend will know." He stopped smirking as he muttered holding her shoulders in his grasp. "Harper, it's easier because she knows we met at work. And from the looks of it...seems very fond of this Elliot." His brows frowning as he looked away.

Harper sighed. "You're...you're so." James cocked his eyebrow. "I am what, Miss Daniels?" Harper pressed her lips together as she couldn't brave to finish her sentence as just looking into his stare sent shivers down her back. Even if the familiar eyes she was used to seeing were now blue, it still sent her in hot mess. James placed his hand above her, wetting his bottom lip as he braced himself from the fact, he was urging to just take her now. He didn't know if that was his other part of him hungry for not having sex for about two weeks now or the other part of him that was scared to adjust for actually wanting to be with her. But then he couldn't go back on that, he had admitted he had feelings for her which was big thing for him. He had gone far, so it must mean something.

Harper felt pure delight running upon her skin, just him looking at her made her feel hot. She didn't even realise through their encounter that they had swapped places until her back pressed against the solid wall.

"Your body is yearning for me now." His tone husky as he trailed his thumb to the bottom of her lip. "You make it so hard for me Miss Daniels." Harper remained quite enjoying the pleasure he was inflicting upon her as he trailed his hand down the side of her arm, skipping down to her thigh where with sudden movement, squeezed her thigh against him as he pushed into. "Now, remember this..." He muttered, his lips teasing upon her neck. Harper gasped as she closed her eyes, the feeling driving her insane. Slowly she felt his hands push back her top off her shoulder, his fingertips like electric shocks upon her skin. Then meeting her face, his expression much sombre as he cautioned. "I'm not Elliot, he would never make you feel like this." Then immediately she gasped as she felt his teeth bite onto her shoulder enough to leave a red mark; a love bite. It wasn't in disgust she felt, it was pure pleasure as his hungry eyes met hers again. He softly pressed his lips against her forehead before backing off her as he entwined his fingers through hers again as he led them back to the front. Her intention of telling him off went completely out the window and instead he was rather the one. He was driving her insane indeed.

Elliot who James was playing offered to allow Dani to use his car that when Harper asked him in private whose it was? His answer was he borrowed it off Samuels, who had borrowed it from a man, long story cut short, he had used it because showing up in his usual gear wouldn't work. James ensured he sat at the back with Harper, his eyes firmly on the back of Duke's who sat in passenger seat and had not spoken a word at all. James if this was a different situation would have had that dickhead, give him enough black eye. But for Harper's sake he was here to ensure this loser didn't try anything and for himself he didn't admit aloud, he liked being within her presence. Which was indeed stranger, he had never clung onto a woman, once they slept together, there was no need for communication after. Now it was like his possession to be with Harper, near her side. James moved over the small gap between them as he wrapped his arm around, she didn't even notice until she turned her attention from the window towards him. And he couldn't admit the feelings it gave him when she only in return snuggled into his embrace. James felt good with her.

Harper glanced over to the rear mirror where she saw Dani with a smug smile on her lips towards Harper. She rolled her eyes where in return Dani smiled brightly before averting her glaze back to the road. Harper enjoyed this, snuggled against him, she felt protected.

Eventually by twelve Dani pulled up into a queue where it seemed to go on for miles towards an area where at this moment, a robotic arm branched off into the sky before going back down. Harper had an idea where they were now. This brought back the old times when they were teens themselves, Dani, Duke and herself used to be in bundles of joy when the fairground used to come along, it meant rides and mostly importantly loads of junk food. Duke sat up she noticed looking around his surroundings. "Where are we going Dani?" He asked.

Dani shrugged her shoulders. "Just sit back, Duke." She teased. They got closer as Dani payed the fee for parking and parked not far from the entrance. Duke sat up. "A fairground?" Dani nodded, bouncing in excitement. "Oh yes, thank your Dani for that. So what do you think?"

Duke made no sudden reaction and cooly said. "Great." Harper could notice his bored tone however she was just glad Dani was already out the car getting ready to go. "Come on!" She persisted. Harper lifted her eyebrows to James as she smiled before getting out with him following after. Duke met around their side, his shoulders slouched as he looked elsewhere.

Dani began in a way jogging off wanting to get there in but she tugged on Duke to make him go faster leaving Harper behind with James at the back.

"What's a fairground like?" James whispered. Harper was stunned and turned to face him within his embrace. "You've never been to a fairground?" She asked. James laughed shaking his head. "No, my Father started me...well I say tried to get me into the business fast. I didn't have time to have fun, I had to study at a young age rather than do what other kids did." He admitted. That was probably why he was delinquent and became to sleep around with women.

"Well you're in safe hands." Harper smiled. James grinned cocking his eyebrow slowly. "Am I now?" Harper blushed before she encouraged him to walk faster to catch up with Dani. She was not hard to miss with her large red backpack upon her bag and her piggy-tails that instead of making her look young like a child, only suited her.

"Come on!" Dani grumbled as they reached her. Elliot or rather James to Harper cut in as he took his wallet out. "I'll pay for you." He insisted as he took a crisp note out. Dani smiled thanking him as she brought the tickets. Harper muttered near him. "You do realise you payed for Duke as well." James grunted back. "I know. Don't remind me." Harper rolled her eyes smiling to herself before Dani was off racing towards the stalls on the side. James removed his arm around Harper but only clasped his hand in hers as they walked along hand in hand. James was lucky, this disguise worked a treat and there would be no press stumbling upon them, so the deal would still be safe. Dani was already at one stall trying to hook a duck as Duke just leaned against the counter not bothering to interact. Harper was getting irritated by attitude and only pulled James along to another far as away. This one was simple, throw a ball to smash plates. Harper stopped cocking her eyebrow as she jerked her chin towards the stall.

"What?" He smirked.

"Win me a prize." She muttered ever so innocently. He looked over. "Win you a prize. And if I do, what do I get out of it?" He looked back towards her smiling innocently in return. Harper blushed as she muttered. "I'll think about it." James chuckled slightly as he began to roll back his sleeves. She loved when he did that, gosh now it got her thinking back to that dinner. That did happen right? Harper shook her head smiling as he walked up steadying his stance, holding the ball firmly in his hand then rubbed it between his palms before throwing. Harper jumped as the first plate smashed laughing as James had a smug smirk on his lips as he bowed before her. Then he went for the second plate and smashed it. She couldn't help to admire his ass now that was nice ass she thought to herself. Harper soon looked back up when he approached her.

"You try?" He said, holding the ball in front of her face. "I'm sure you want to have a go." Harper took clasp of it before James muttered near her hair. "I'm sure you want a go on mine." Harper blushed as she stepped forward and began to throw the ball before she felt him behind her. His one hand lay rested upon her thigh and the other rested on her shoulder. "That's it. Steady, aim for the plate." Harper rested in his comfort and threw it and actually smashed a plate; usually her clumsiness meant the ball would have aimed for something else. Perhaps the man who announced they were winners. James who stepped forward took claim of the cuddly teddy bear and passed it towards Harper who was blushing like mad.

"Thank you." She muttered as she cuddled the teddy bear. However their time alone didn't last long as Dani piped in.

"Oh Elliot, did you win that for Harper?" She exclaimed. James nodded, stretching his arm behind his head as he rested his hand on the nape of his neck. Dani almost squealed. "Oh that's so cute. Well, I'm going on the big kid rides. You guys coming?" She asked.

"We'll meet you there." James informed smiling at Dani before he took Harper's hand. James instead of following Dani, led her elsewhere taking her towards what appeared to be a photo booth. Harper halted confused as ever.

James tugged on her hand. "Come on, I've always wanted to try one of these." Harper couldn't argue with the glint in his eyes as she followed him over towards it. James placed a pound in then sat in on the stool before patting his lap. Harper hesitated.

"Don't go shy on me now." He said. Harper pouted. "Your hair is different. And your eyes." James shrugged his shoulders before narrowing his eyes towards her. "Miss Daniels." He almost growled. Harper walked over in defeat as she gently sat on his lap before James wrapped his arms securely around her waist, the scent of his cologne was comforting as it invaded her nose. Pressing the button, it was an awkward silence before the first photo was taken. Then the second James sneakily kissed her cheek where she squealed in delight.

When they exited the booth, the photos themselves were too adorable for words not like Harper would admit that aloud and only watched as James torn it in half so she had one and he had the other before he then led them off elsewhere. His hand against her was comforting as they stopped for candlyfloss sharing together. James was having fun, fun he hadn't experienced outside of work. Yes he had fun with countless one night stands but this was a whole different fun, it was just hanging out.

James stopped as he looked up a robotic arm that was at this instance in action as it spun around fast changing direction and angle. James grinned turning to Harper. "Let's go on that. I've always wanted to try something like that."

"I don't know." Harper spoke. James squeezed her hand. "Please, come on. Besides I don't like the idea of you being on your own. On there I know your safe...with me." Harper grumbled to herself before sighing as she followed him over. Dani had just come off as they entered the queue and Harper passed over her teddy even if Dani did look like she was going to puke alongside with Duke who was holding his hand near his mouth.

"It's not bad. Come on." James encouraged before leaning in as he softly pecked her lips sending butterflies in her stomach. She smiled even though the nerves were biting away at her as she watched the robotic arm shoot into the sky. As they drew closer, she grabbed James' hand tightly as they were led onto the platform to take their seats.

"James, I'm scared." She blurted. James smiled to himself as he squeezed her hand. "You're with me." He muttered as they took their seats. Harper closed her eyes gripping on James' hand as it began to move. And before she could protest to get off, they were swinging around in a circle high off into the air. Harper screamed.

James was sure he was deaf after that.

And sure he had no circulation through his hand whatsoever.

"See that wasn't so bad, now was it?" James muttered near her hair.

"Not bad? Not Bad?" She repeated, getting louder and louder. James only laughed pulling her closer to him as he kissed the top of her forehead.

"I think I'm gonna be sick." She slurred as she rushed towards the bathrooms not far from the ride itself. James chuckled to himself before he felt a presence slid up to the side of him. "Elliot. Where she off to?" Dani asked. James smirked. "I don't she took the ride very well." Dani laughed. "Trust our Harper." Then she muttered. "Elliot, promise me you'll look out for her." James turned to face her and nodded. "Course." He smiled. Dani sighed in relief before she passed him the teddy bear back she was holding or rather cradling.

The afternoon eventually became night and rides were lit up their flashing lights. Near the end they all gathered to go on what was a water ride but rather you sit in small boats and splash each other with water cannons. One person per boat so this was Harper's revenge against James.

At the end of it she was drenched and so was Dani, James and Duke who had only lightened after a while. James laughed with Dani as she bragged about her victory over everyone. Harper smiled at the thought of them two getting on that she didn't even realise when James met alongside her. His smile was still present as he muttered against her drenched hair.

"You're wet." He said, grinning.

"Don't you dare start that again." She warned him smiling to herself as they headed back to the car.

What a night indeed James thought to himself, mostly the tempting thought of how Harper looked good wet. He grinned to himself at that as he took in turn to drive with Harper asleep in the passenger seat and Dani at the back. The only person who wasn't, was Duke who didn't dare look his way.

James looked again at Harper before back to the rear mirror, then he spoke. "You better watch your back." Duke looked over frowning as he met James' stare. But before he could speak back, Harper awoke shuffling as she sat up, James then only grabbed her hand as he held it in the centre. James looked back at the rear mirror towards Duke who couldn't say anything.

Eventually they got back and Duke stumbled straight off leaving Dani and Harper alone. "Thanks Elliot. It was nice meeting you. I'm happy for you and Harper." Then she yawned leaving them both alone as she headed in. James watched as she went in before grabbing Harper into an embrace his hands at her waist.

"I enjoyed that." He said.

Harper smiled. "Me too. I'm...glad you came." James adored her embarrassment as she flushed red. He pressed their foreheads together, his breath fanning her face as she closed her eyes. It was like their own bubble.

James cupped her face with his hands as he kissed her lips softly and with passion before dropping his hands to her side as he teased by playing with her fingers. "Harper Daniels, I don't know what you're doing to me." He almost sighed closing his own eyes, not wanting to move or go. Harper then in her own confident, pulled onto his collar of his shirt as she pressed her own lips against his and in return he pressed back harder.

"I'll see you at work, Mr Brewer." She smiled before biting down on her lip. James grinned then winked as he got into the driver's side. Rolling down the window, Harper laughed. "Hate the fact you have to manually roll it down?" James smirked. "I'll see you later, babes." Before he started the engine and was off. Harper held her arms as she watched the car disappear in the distant.

She was falling more in love with that man every-day.
