Chapter 24- Resisting is harder than it seems

"Now are you sure you're ready?"-

"Yes!" Harper sighed, lifting her bag up to emphaise her point.

"Are you sure?"-

"Yes!" She snapped.

"Sure?"

Harper frowned punching him in lightly in the arm. "If I said I'm ready, I'm ready!" James smirked as he grabbed her small suitcase passing it over to Samuels. It was Saturday afternoon, Harper had somehow persuaded Dani that she was going to a conference meeting and not the truth that she was playing hoax of being her boss's fake girlfriend. She didn't feel right lying, it wasn't her nature but his boyish charms just got to her. Samuels loaded up the car as James opened the door for her.

"Ladies first."He grinned holding the door. Harper got in, the hint of his colgone as she passed him invading her nostrils. He smelt so clean and it was very addictive. Harper scooted across to the far side as James climbed in after her whislt Samuels put the last bag in.

"So, does Samules know about...this...arrangment?" She asked, rather timidly. James looked over to her grinning. "No and yes, why do you ask?" Harper shrugged her shoulders before looking back out of the window. Samuels got in at the front and began the engine. "Where to Mr Brewer?" He asked looking through the rear mirror. James said. "To my Mother's house." Samuels nodded before he got the car into gear.

"So, about this meal...tonight. If I am expected to be...you, you know..." Harper muttered blushing. James cocked his eyebrow. "Yes, my girlfriend." He said rather openly, Harper cringed looking over to Samuels to see if he heard. "Well, won't it...b-be ideal, if we knew about each other. Like colour in case we are asked." She mumbled biting her lip. James wetted his bottom lip, the urge to just scoot across to her and take those lips against his but instead he collected himself in an calm composure and said. "I see what your saying, okay then ask me questions."

"Favourite colour?" She asked. James scratched the slight stubble upon his chin. "Chestnut brown." Harper nodded taking note mentally.

"And yours?" He asked.

"Plum." She muttered, her cheeks flushing as James grinned cocking his eyebrow. "Erm, what about food?" She asked trying to distract away the fact her cheeks were red. James fiddled with his watch. "Chille Con Carne." Harper nodded." So you like spicy food?" James smirked. "I like everything spicy, things that spice up my life." His eyes trailed to her lips making Harper shuffle around in her seat. "Well...mines Pizza I...guess." She muttered. James nodded the amusement in his eyes as the car passed into the open countryside; not far from the main city though.

"Is this where you lived as a child?" She asked. James nodded scooting over to, Harper held her breath as he leaned over to point at something on her side. "That..." He muttered inches away from her face. "Is where I played as a child." Harper slowly turned her head to the grand mansion that came into view. It was immense, he sure lived in a grand environment she thought. The car pulled onto the cobble-stone pathway that extended all the way from the road up to Mansion. Samuels pulled up outside, it was half six exactly.

"My Mother can...be a little to exicited at times." He muttered looking out the window. "Just be your self and relax." He smirked as Samuels opened his door. Harper bit her lip getting out her side, she was anxious. James walked around to her side extending his hand out to her. Harper hesistated before James reached out for her hand. "If we want to sell this then you need act like your madly in love with me." He muttered. Harper nodded, the irony of that was she madly in love with him she thought. As Samuels brought the luggage to the front door, James tilted her chin to face him. "Relax, honestly you will be fine." Harper nodded taking a breath as she clung her hand to his. Walking to the front door, a woman with a welcoming smile greeted them.

"James. I'm thrilled you came." She beamed pulling him into a hug, Harper couldn't help to smile at the sight of how his own cheeks blushed from his Mother's open affection. Then she turned to Harper. "And you, oh I'm so glad to meet you. I'm Gwen." She smiled pulling Harper into a hug.

"Harper, Mad'm. Thank you for having me here." Harper smiled, the woman shook her head frantically. "Honey, there is no need for formality in our house, please call me Gwen. I'm just glad I am finally getting to meet you. Please come in, you'll want to be settled first." James squeezed Harper's hand as he followed his Mother in. The interior was just as grand as the outside, Harper felt like a intruder, this was the difference between them, James was rich, very rich. Samuels carried the bags in before James let go her hand and took it off him. "Thanks, Samuels. I can take it on from here." Samuels nodded before returning back to the car outside. His Mother was far ahead going into one room only returning back with Mr Brewer, James' father.

"Honey, James' girlfriend, Harper." His Mother beamed. James tensed knowing his Father had met her once at work on his visit, tonight he would have to explain the arrangement. His Father nodded glancing over to James, his eyes narrowing. James coughed. "Yes, I think I should get Harper settled then we'll join you down for dinner later." Qwen nodded." Yes go ahead. I can't wait to hear how you met." She smiled before holding her husband's arm as she entered a room.

James cocked his eyebrow before grabbing her suitcase and taking it up the stairs. Harper trailed up after biting her lip as they passed room after room on the second floor, this place was for sure big. James halted as he opened a door dropping her suitcase down onto the floor. Harper followed in, amazed by the size of the room, its walls a faint cream and a huge double king-sized bed in the middle.

"My Room." He said. Harper parted her lips before James interjected in. "It has to buy if we are sharing a room. Now I think it will be right if we work on the story on how we met." Harper nodded moving across to the bed as she gradually sat down. James sat down next to her rolling up his sleeves. "So, how we met?" James raked his fingers through his brown hair. "Let's just go with the usual, we bumped into each other and blah, blah. Now we're together."
"Not really the romantic type are you?" She snorted. James nodded lying back on his bed placing his hands behind his head. "Well...Actually, let's just say we met at a...coffeeshop, since I was first to spill coffee on you." She muttered, her cheeks warming. James smirked at the ceiling. "I remember that. You f**ked up my trousers for sure." Harper rolled her eyes. "Your...very intimidating." She muttered. James looked over to her cocking his eyebrow. "That's how the world of business works. Wanna stay big, you have to be mean." Harper looked down before getting up. She was really anxious for tonight, there was fear that what if his parents weren't how they expected her to be.
James closed his eyes for a moment, the material against his shirt clinging to his skin. Harper bit her lip going towards her suitcase, the entire morning Harper had packed clothes she have never once more on one occasional worn as they were very revealing or not exactly her usual to wear, that was the difference between her and Dani, their tastes were way different.
"Erm...this is the bathroom?" She muttered.
James had his eyes remained closed. "Uh-huh. Right opposite this bed." Harper mumbled a thank you before entering the bathroom, inside it was huge and more like another room than a bathroom. Zipping open her suitcase, she held her breath as she pulled out a black dress, but only the back was visible and open. She wouldn't be caught dead in this she thought.
Harper had to go braless as she slipped on the dress over her head. Glancing to the mirror, she studied the brown haired girl, she looked different, but did she look suitable as someone you would expect to be dating a billionaire she thought. She began for the zip when the door opened as James walked in. He halted though as his eyes reached the present of her back, his breath hitched. Harper held the front so it would not slip down.
"I-I-I'm getting...changed." She managed to say. James wetted his bottom lip. "I can see that, need help?" Harper froze, her eyes met his in the mirror, hesitating she nodded looking away as she bit down on her lip. James took the moment to take in this, his eyes slowly followed down her back before he slowly took for he zip. Harper tried to suppress the urge of shiver down her spine as he placed his hand gently upon he centre of his back. James' mouth felt dry, his eyes lingered on how he could briefly see the start of her underwear, it was teasing to know he could have her naked right now by stripping away this loose garment. Pulling the zip however, he pulled it up gently noticing how Harper's eyes were closed through the mirror. Harper couldn't get over how his touch tingled upon her skin, his hand moved up slightly as the zip met just below the centre of her back. Harper felt how he kept his hands there for longer than needed before he pulled his hands away slowly.

"Thank you." She mumbled. James nodded, his eyes still upon her bare back before he moved and deliberately leaned near her pressing his body over half of her back as he grabbed a bottle of cologne. Harper tensed watching as he left the bathroom closing the door. Harper let out a gasp that she had been keeping in, she didn't move for a moment and placed both hands on the edge of the sink.
After what took less than another five minutes at tops, she looked at the mirror noticing how the woman before her who usually never wore makeup, was now. She had put on the usual like eyeliner, mascara and concealer but it all felt strange to her, Harper didn't wear usually most. Grabbing a bottle of perfume she sprayed a little upon her neck before taking a deep breath as she took lose of the band in her hair and let her brown, thick wavy hair fall upon her shoulders, she felt the weight upon her bare back before she teased her fingers through to give it shape. Harper never wore her hair down usually, specially because of how thick it was, gaining the look like it was a nest.
When she opened the door, James' back was faced towards her however she noticed the change of shirt and how it clung to his muscular frame. James turned around as he finished buttoning the last button but immediately dropped them as Harper stepped out. His eyes trailed towards her long legs before meeting her eyes. He didn't notice how green her eyes were, he was taken back. It took a moment before he managed to speak. "You...look beautiful."
Harper blushed looking away. "Thank you...so d-do you, I-I mean...you know..." Stuttering as she looked down to the floor. James smirked. "I know." Walking over as he closed the space between them, he tilted her chin to look up at him. "You should have your hair down more often." He said. "Ready to go?" Harper nodded noticing how his one hand immediately slid to her back, Harper bit her lip as he led her out of his room.
Reaching the bottom of the grand stairs, she took a deep breath her body shaking as they halted. James caressed her back slowly muttering near her ear. "Relax." His words shuddered against her before he slowly led her on. Inside they passed the huge kitchen where various staff were working ,they passed onwards through to a large area of open space where the living room was connected together openly with the dining space going out to the large garden with vast amounts of green land.
Upon the couches, Gwen his Mother sat sipping from a wine glass as she listened intently to another young woman who Harper recognised.
"Mother." He coughed. The woman looked over, the smile upon her lips forming as she got up to her feet."Oh there you are. Wow, might I add Harper you look beautiful indeed." She smiled leaning in as she pecked her cheek. Harper smiled flushing before the young woman got up. "James, as your sister I'm owing Mother a bet she won." She smirked grabbing at what looked like a £50 note with ease and passed it over. James was stunned, his eyes open in amazement."You betted on me!" He exclaimed. Harper couldn't help with a escaped giggle as Gwen stuffed the note down the top of her dress
grinning at her son. "I knew you would settle one day, son. Finally the cupid's arrow has made you fall in love." Harper blushed, she did not at all like lying to his family. They appeared much normal than what she expected.
"Violet." The young woman smiled before she frowned. "Don't I know..." She was cut off when James shook his head."No. Let's go sit down, shall we?" They all took to their seats, James taking hast as he pulled out the chair for Harper, his eyes trailing upon her back once more.
"Thank you." Harper muttered to him as Gwen and Violet sat down. Various staff approached the table filling up glasses as Harper relaxed a little. Upon arrival, James' Father entered and sat down at the head of the table. "Forgive me." He muttered before taking a sip of wine. Gwen smiled towards Harper. "So, when will we hear how you two met!" She exclaimed. James was taking a taste of his wine before he placed it down. "Persistent. " He said.
His Mother cooed at her son."Thats because my son has finally settled his bottom down. Excuse my french!" She apologised smiling. Harper smiled before she froze as she felt James' hand squeeze her thigh. "Why don't you tell them how we met, darling?" James fetched a smile towards her. All eyes were upon her, it was bad enough now that James was teasing her leg by caressing his thumb softly against her skin.
"Well...we met at a coffeeshop." Harper mumbled. Gwen cocked her eyebrow. "Coffeeshop?" Harper nodded about to speak before James cut in. "Yes, Harper had spilt coffee upon me." Gwen ushered over the waiting staff to begin to serve the meal.

"My how romantic, ah the coffeeshop. Darling you hear that?" Gwen said smiling over to her husband. He nodded taking another sip before he spoke. "Son, may I speak to you next door?" James looked towards his Father before nodding. "Yes, look after her Mom, I won't be long babes." He smirked leaning in to kiss Harper's cheek. Harper instantly melted on the spot smiling as her cheeks blushed from his open affection. Though that feeling soon deflated knowing the harsh truth that this wasn't real between them.

James rubbed the stubble upon his chin as he dropped his hankiechief onto the table before following his father out into his study down the corridor. His Father Michael sighed going to a cupboard adjacent to his desk only returning with a bottle of whiskey. James watched as he poured a drink, his patience slightly slipping.

"So what's this you wanted me for?" James said. Hi father looked up at him placing the glass down. "What are you playing at ,son?" James shrugged his shoulders carelessly. "I don't know what you are suggesting?" Michael shook his head. "That woman is your PA, I thought you promised you wouldn't get into affairs with co-workers. " James sighed rolling his eyes. "Yeah, different story for you and Mother."

"Well at least I kept mine in my pants. You have love scandals all over the tabloid. I just don't want this to affect my company." He stressed. "And besides your Mother was a well- respected client of mine, I managed to keep my personal life down on the low even before I fell in love with your Mother."

"My business, Father. And I'm not even having affairs with her." He sighed. Michael cocked his eyebrow raking his hand through his greying hair. "Your playing your Mother, aren't you?" James shook his head. "No, I just needed her off my back, you know how onto me she has been on for the past few weeks about settling down, she would have arranged me to date boring plain women I'm expected to marry. It's just for tonight, Harper knows, hey she agreed to."

Michael sighed. "You remind me of me before I met your Mother. Son, this isn't just not only fair on that women but yourself. Why not just settle down?" James tensed looking down. "Look, I don't want to talk about it, but I promise you that you have no concerns in the business, I know what I'm doing, just let me run it, okay? Now, let's get back before Mother gets suspicious that something is going on."

Harper bit her lip as she watched James leave the room, she was anxious when he would return back. Violet his sister meekly spoke up averting her attention. "So my brother, does he treat you well?" Harper hesitated before nodding. "Yes, very. He's a...handful for sure though." Violet cocked her well manicured eyebrow before taking a mouthful of food off her fork. "I'm glad, I didn't think that he would have settled down, he's...always been so...troublesome." She said.

Gwen took a sip from her wine before smiling. "Yes very, I remember the period of him going through that in high school. I'm just glad he's finally found you, I just want him to be happy." Harper smiled blushing in the cheeks before she watched as James enter with his father back into the dining area. Michael smiled to his wife walking over to kiss her cheek before returning to his seat. James sat down smirking at Harper before taking a sip from his glass.

"Some boy's meeting you had?" Gwen snorted.

Michael spoke out. "So Harper, tell us a bit about yourself? Where do you work?" James noticed the shifty attitude of his father, the mischievous smile. Harper cringed parting her lips to speak before James spoke out. "She's my PA." Harper was stunned and looked over to James who sat casually sipping from his drink.

"I knew I recognised you!" Violet blurted. James looked over to his father who was scratching his chin. Gwen bursted. "Awh, similar to how me and your father met." James trailed his hand to Harper's back, caressing his fingers in a upwards motion.

He cocked his eyebrow at his father who was wearing confusion upon his face. "Yes Mother, we met at coffeeshop but she was working under me. I guess...I couldn't resist." The curl upon his lips.

The rest of the evening they sat chatting before Michael and his wife left to retire for the rest of the night. Harper sat at one of the couches, tearing away in nerves as she was left alone with James. Finishing his drink, he undone his tie taking it off before sitting down next to her.

"You told you them I work for you." She said. James sat back rubbing his chin. "I know. Saved the hassle for you coming up with excuses." Harper nodded still confused but accepted the fact it did mean she didn't have to lie anymore than she has.

"Want a drink?" He asked. Harper shook her head. "I don't think I want to wake up with a hangover again." James smirked at that. "Yeah, I think I remember you calling me hot last time." Harper blushed shaking her head. "I was drunk." James tutted. "Being drunk usually brings out the truth." Harper held her arm looking away knowing she was turning red as a tomato.

"But it is true, I am hot." He said. Harper snorted. "Cocky." James sat up placing his glass on the side. "Well, Miss Daniels would you rather I was honest?" Harper bit her lip rolling her head to the side. James couldn't resist the urge to want to taste those lips again but decided against and went for his drink. "So did my Mother torture you with questions when I was with my father?"

"Told me about how she only wants you...to be happy and...she's glad you found someone." She mumbled. James nodded before taking a another sip from his drink. "And how you were trouble in high school with girls." James smirked raking his fingers through his hair. "No woman can resist me." Harper smiled to herself rolling her eyes. "I can resist you." James froze looking over to her cocking his eyebrow up. "Is that so?" Harper bit her lip looking away. Very slowly he placed his glass down and scooted across the couch, Harper shuddered as she felt his fingers brush against her shoulder.

James smirked before planting a soft kiss upon her shoulder. Harper closed her eyes, the sensation tormenting her. "Are you sure about that?" He muttered near her earlobe. Harper tensed as his hand slid to her back.

-"Hey." A voice said. "Oops." James turned around grinning. "And what may I offer you ,sister?" The amusement in his voice. Harper blushed refusing to turn around, embarrassed as it is. "I wanted to check if you were treating your girlfriend alright. It's still a shock to see you have one, but I can see you're too busy hassling her."

James smirked getting up, holding his hand out, Harper hesitated before clasping her hand in his. "Now that your confirmed I was getting frisky with my girl, if you don't mind I think I'll take my girlfriend upstairs." Violet made a gagging sound. "Ewww. Sorry, you have to put up with that Harper!" Harper blushed smiling before James tugged her along. James passed his sister before pecking her on the forehead. Violet rolled her eyes before smiling at Harper who was being tugged onwards.

Opening the door to his bedroom, James let loose of her hand before closing the door. Harper parted her lips, her heart beating fast as she stood awkwardly in the centre of the room. James turned around, just looking at her in that dress made him yearn. Harper bit her lip looking down, James couldn't take it anymore and strived forward pushing her to his door. Harper gasped before the little air she breathed in was taken in by the crashing of his lips against hers. His hands moved her hands up above her head giving her no access to roam her hands through his hair. The collision of his tongue against hers made her stomach burst with butterflies. James couldn't get enough of her, he wanted her so badly. Removing his lips, he gripped both her wrists as he guided her to his bed, pushing her down to his quilts, he couldn't resist thinking how good she looked right now. Harper was hopeless at resisting him, gosh how she wanted him.

"I thought I was easy to resist?" He murmured, cocking his eyebrow. Harper bit her lip causing him to growl before he leaned in kissing the side of her neck. Harper thrusted her body upwards, the feeling overwhelming her every inch. James wanted her, but the part of him didn't want to do something he would regret. Harper tried to untangle her hands from his grip, but failed to do so as James kept a strong grip.

James removed his hands standing up as Harper lay breathless looking up to him. He pulled off his shirt revealing his toned chest, Harper bit her lip the yearn to run her hands upon him.

"You're mighty good to look at." He said. Harper bit her lip as she watched him tug at his belt on his trousers. Feeling flushed, he pulled his suit trousers leaving him only in his boxers. Harper's eyes opened in amazement, she sat up her eyes failing to leave off his body. Then he licked his bottom lip causing Harper to jump where she rolled off the bed with a oomph.

"Ow." She exclaimed. James chuckled walking over to her. Harper opened her eyes looking up, but froze as James towered before her. The sight of him became too overwhelming that the next thing she knew, she had fainted right on the spot.
