Quatre : I'm With You
"I'm tryin' to figure out this life.
Won't you take me by the hand?
Take me somewhere new.
I don't know who you are
But I'm, I'm with you."

"I just don't understand how I was able to hear that girl's voice in my mind." Gabriel says, standing in front of Emilie's portrait.
"Do you think that you could have a connection with her sir?" Nathalie asks, approaching him from behind.
"She's just a normal girl, if anything she's just simply confused."
"But you heard her voice, surely that must mean something." Nathalie states
Gabriel closes his eyes momentarily and sighs. He had a few theories on how you were able to hear his thoughts, but they were just theories for now. He'd have to figure it out later when you would join Hawkmoth.
"What are you planning sir?"
"In time, we will make her a proposition that she won't be able to refuse." Gabriel smirks
He takes out his phone and opens up the ladyblog, he clicks on Alya's latest video and watches it intently. When the car was hurled at (Y/N), he pauses the video and focuses on your face. Viorica had brought you along with her, just as he hoped that she would. Your arrival would make his plan a success and Emilie would return to him.
All thanks to you.
The end of the week had come and you could finally rest from your first week of real school. Chloe was still being difficult to deal with, but at least you had Luka, who was practically your best friend at this point. With it being the weekend, you were going to get time to spend with your parents. Since they both had been making adjustments revolving around the move, they hadn't been home much this week. Meaning that you hadn't gotten the chance to tell them about the akumas and Hawkmoth. Though you doubted that they would believe you anyways.
"What was it that you wanted to discuss with us my sweet?" Your mother asks
"You've been out of it all week (Y/N), we'd like to know what's troubling you." Your father says
'Besides the voices?' You thought
"Oh, well... I'm not sure if you'll believe me or not." You mumble
"Speak up dear, you know that your mother doesn't like it when you mumble."
"Right... it's just that it's silly to think about because things were normal back then when we lived here, but now it's just so much more different." You start out
"You're not having one of those coming of age moments from the movies are you?" Viorica asks
"No! I'm being serious here! There's this man named Hawkmoth who akumatizes the Parisian civilians when they're feeling any negative emotions and transforms them into villains to do his evil deeds. There's also these heroes called Ladybug and Chat Noir that fight the villains that Hawkmoth creates. If anything happens, I know they'll come and save the day." You explain
You didn't even know why you were bothering explaining to your parents. You told yourself over and over again that is was because you wanted them to be aware of the situation, so that they could prevent becoming akumatized. But you knew that they wouldn't believe-
"Hmm... we believe you." Viorica says
"We do?!" Everett asks in shock.
The bluette narrows her eyes at her husband.
"Your mother is right, we believe you. You wouldn't lie to us about something this significant, especially if it was bothering you this much."
"You really believe me?" You ask
"Of course we do my sweet." Viorica smiles, while reaching out to pinch your cheek with her gloved hand.
You let her do so, until she steps out of the room to go and take care of some pressing matters. You look over at your father and reach out towards the coffee table where your gaming control was at.
"Shall we play a game?" You deviously ask, holding a second gaming remote.
Your father contemplates the idea.
"It's from that movie-"
He takes the remote from you and offers you a smug smile. You smirk, as both of your competed spirits flare up.
"Bring it on." He says
"You're on old man!"
He playfully glares at you, adding a 'I'm not that old' afterwards. A few matches later, Viorica comes back into the room and joins in on the game, needing no convincing to do so.
After spending a few hours more playing the fighting game, your mother manages to win the last match. You and your father both stare at her in shock.
"You cheated!" You both cry out simultaneously.
"I did none of the sort." She says, crossing her arms.
"Mutiny mother! I want a rematch!" You say
"I don't have to give in into your demands. Just admit that you and your father are sore losers. " She says, waving a hand around, a hint of a smirk gracing her lips.
"Dad! Talk some sense into her!"
"Viorica-"
Your dad's words are cut off, as his phone rings. He answers it and steps out of the room to probably yell at whoever was on the other line.
"Guess that means you won't be getting your rematch my sweet." Viorica chuckles
"Not today, but I will one day!" You declare
"Maybe, but for now, it's time for you to go to sleep. We wouldn't want you to get dark circles, that would be absolutely dreadful." Your mother says
"Goodnight mom."
"Goodnight my sweet."
You hug your mother and then head up the stairs to your room. Upon seeing your bed, you jumped in, having missed it from being apart from it all day.
As you stared up at the (f/c) colored ceiling, it still came to you as a shock that your parents had believed you about Hawkmoth. Then again, it did sound kinda crazy when said out loud. Not to mention that sooner or later you'd have to confess about the voice that you had heard the other day. And that would be much more difficult to do. A tap on your window snapped you out of your thoughts, but you refused to get out of bed. You shrugged it off and turned your back towards the window. The tap was heard again, but you just wanted to stay in bed. A third time was the final straw for you. By force you got out of bed to inspect the noise, you open your drapes and see Chat Noir's electric green eyes staring back into your own (e/c) colored eyes.
"What are you doing here?" You hiss, while opening the window.
"Well... would you believe me if I told you that I was patrolling the streets when I just happened to have come across your house?"
"How would you know where I live, I just moved here?" You ask
Chat Noir jumps into your room, without bothering to ask for your permission. He inspects the room, taking in every detail. It hadn't changed much from the last time he was here. Except the last time he had been in your room was when you two were kids and he had obviously been here as Adrien and not Chat Noir.
"Nice room you got in here." He says
Chat Noir walks over to your bedside drawer where a single picture frame was at. He picked it up recognizing the photo and he smiled to himself. It was a picture of you, Chloe, and Adrien as kids. Everything really had changed since those days of infancy. You snatched the frame from his clawed hands and put it back on top of the drawer. Except this time the photo faced down, so that he could no longer see the picture. It broke his heart that you tried to shake off all the memories that the two of you had when he was in his civilian form. He desperately hoped that you wouldn't reject him as Chat Noir, which is why he had chosen to visit you as the clad leathered hero.
"(Y/N)." Your father calls from outside your bedroom door.
Your eyes widen. You couldn't let him see Chat in your room. He'd freak out and call the police! You unexpectedly pushed Chat Noir onto your bed and covered him up with a few pillows and your comforter. You lay next to him, just as your father tentatively opens the door. He peaks his head in and sees the bump where Chat is next to you.
"What is that-"
"Shh... dad. You'll wake up Cadenza." You whisper
"Cadenza? She's not set for arrival until tomorrow." Your father says
"She came a day early, but she's feeling a bit of some jet lag so she's resting. On my bed." You try to explain
"Alright, just make sure she doesn't crush you in your sleep."
"Right! Night dad."
"Goodnight."
He pauses and takes one last look at you.
"I really need to invest in getting Cadenza on a leash." Your father mutters on his way out.
After neither of you could no longer hear his footsteps, Chat Noir pokes his head out from underneath the comforter.
"Next time a little warning would be nice. Not that I'm against being in your bed, but at least take me out to dinner first, you know?" He smirks
You silence the cat hero by throwing a pillow in his face.
"So, Cadenza must be a big dog huh?" He asks
"If you consider a crocodile a big dog, then yeah sure. Cadenza is huge."
"You have a crocodile as a pet?!" Chat Noir whisper shouts, while sitting up on the bed.
"Cadenza belongs to my mother."
"Okay... that makes a bit more sense."
"Now that I've answered your questions, it's about time that you answer mine. What are you really doing here?" You ask
"I just wanted to see how you were doing, but then I saw how close you are with your parents..." He drifts off, his mind elsewhere now.
You sit up and place a comforting hand on his shoulder. Which you had to admit that it was weird and you weren't sure if it was because you don't really know him or because of the feel of material that his catsuit was made of.
"Are you not close with your parents?" You ask
"Come with me." Chat Noir suddenly says, looking up at you.
"What?"
"Come with me chérie."
He gets up from the bed and offers you his hand to take. You really don't know what came over you, but you took his clawed hand in your own. He wrapped an arm around your frame and with the the other he grabbed his baton. Upon realization of what was about to happen, you clinged unto him tighter. He chuckled and you could feel the vibrations from it due to how close you two were. As he began to jump from rooftop to rooftop, you closed your eyes in fear of falling down.
But he wouldn't let you fall.
Ever.
After a few minutes, he stopped and tried to set you down, but you wouldn't let go of him.
"You can open your eyes now."
You reluctantly open your eyes and find yourself in front of the Eiffel Tower. You let go of the alley cat, much to his dismay and take a few steps just to test the water. Chat Noir smiles in awe at your amazement. Yup, you had been americanized, but he'd fix that.
"Come on! We only have a few minutes before it starts." Chat Noir says
He grabs reaches for your hand, but you pull back and stare into his cat like eyes.
"Pancakes or Waffles?" Chat Noir asks
"What?"
If you hadn't regretted coming with him before, you were definitely regretting it now. What kind of question was that? Any other time, you would have answered, but right now to ask that it was weird and definitely not the right time.
"When you hold hands, do you interlace your fingers like this? Waffles."
He demonstrates using his own hands and interlacing his fingers together.
"Or do you do palms flat? Pancakes."
He does another demonstration, this time placing his hands flat against each other.
"Waffles..." You mutter
He holds his hand out towards you again and despite your hesitations, you take his hand into yours again. You both lace your fingers together and he smiles at you. He takes off and you follow after him as the two of you head into the Eiffel Tower. You make it unto the lift and wait to get to the top. You didn't know what was coming over you, but adrenaline coursed through your veins at this very moment. A type of rush that you had never felt before, all thanks to the Parisian hero beside you.
"Why me?" You ask
"Huh?"
"Out of all the girls, why me?"
"Why not? You're absolutely purr-fect."
"Forget I asked." You playfully roll your eyes at his bad cat puns.
A few minutes pass by and the two of you reach the top of the Eiffel Tower. You walked towards the railing and looked down at the city. Everything was so much more smaller from all the way up, it felt like being at the top of Lady Liberty. Except, it was different this time, a good kind of different. But you couldn't exactly think about what it was that made this experience better than the other.
"Wait for it." Chat Noir says
"Wait for wh-"
The Eiffel Tower lit up, making the experience much more magical than it was before. It was beautiful, something you had never learned to appreciate as a child. Chat Noir smiled, he never took his eyes off of you as you took in the sight of the lights. In this light breeze and as the lights captured your figure under the moonlight just right, it was a captivating sight for him. You catch him staring and laugh.
"What's wrong?" You ask
"I'm with you, nothing could ever possibly be bad about that." He mumbles, shifting his gaze towards the moon.
"What was that?" You ask, not having heard him.
"Nothing." He answers
Five minutes later, the lights turn off and the tower goes dark again. But that didn't stop you from being amazed at the sight.
"Come on, let's get you home." Chat Noir says
He holds his hand out once more and this time, you don't hesitate. You make the first move and interlace your fingers together.
Waffles.
Always.
