Bruce P.O.V.

I ran a hand through my hair. My baby was currently laying in his bed with a broken leg. Alfred has yet to figure out the cause of his unconsciousness.

It didn't take him long to figure it out though.

"The young sir has simply hit his head master Bruce." Alfred announces in his brisk tone.

Bruce let out a sigh he didn't know he had been holding in.

"That's a relief Al."

"However," Alfred began. "It seems master Richard has sustained a minor concussion."

Alfred saw my concerned expression and donned one of his own that said : "you're right to worry, however, it's not as though you don't get worse on a nightly bases."

With that, Alfred left the room.

—————time skip about two hours——————

My baby boy started to squirm under the blankets. Probably just another nightmare.

I gently lifted him into my lap so that I was holding him.

"Hey hey hey, shhhhh." I cooed to the thirteen year old child in my grasp.

I shook him gently to wake him.

He gasped and jolted awake.

"B-Bruce?" He asked in a tiny voice.

"Shhhh, I'm here baby." I whisper back.

Dick started to cry softly into my tux. But I didn't mind. I rubbed his back encouraging him to get it all out.

He hiccuped after about two minutes of crying.

"You-" he hiccuped again.

"You're not going to leave me right?"

I hugged him even closer at those words. Where did he get an idea like that?

"No of course not Dickie! I would never, ever leave you on purpose. If somebody else tries to take you, they have to fight me first." I tried to lighten the mood, but if anything, it worsened.

Dickie started to cry again.

"I-I had a dream where you, an- and everybody disappeared!" Dickie sobbed.

"Oh birdie. Hush now, it's okay. shhhhhh." I rocked him gently as his eyelids began to droop from exhaustion. He's worn himself out crying.

I tucked my chin gently on his head.

I really hope that never happens to any of my boys.
