This satirical poem will need some set-up as it was written in 2010 as a response to Rep. Joe Barton’s (R. Texas, House Energy Committee) apology for his comment on the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as being a 20 billion dollar shake down of BP, he later apologized for his misconstrued misconstruction.

What bogus misconception

An attempted republicanization

Of disastrous petroleum utilization.

Nonetheless; wanting political capital

In our nation capitol

On the house floor and what for?

To apologize

Politicalize

Undemonize

The oil wise!

It was hysterical, hilarical

Incomprehensible and despicable.

Infamy

Received in disdain falling on your sword in apology

Committing hari-kari with a misconstrued misconstruction.
