TW- Self harm, attempted suicide, drug use

🎒🎒🎒

"Okay kids, circle time!"

5 year old Kirishima Eiji smiled, scampering off into the play room to meet her teacher. Suddenly, she spotted a boy.

The boy had blonde hair, crimson red eyes and his cheeks were pink. Kirishima walked over, plopping down in front of him. The blonde looked up from his knees, pulling his legs closer to his chest.

"Hi!"

The boy glared at her, then looked away. Kirishima cocked her head and patted the boy's shoulder. The girl cried out when an explosion set off in her face.

Kirishima scoot back, pressing her slightly burnt cheek with her hand and staring at the boy.

"Y-You have your quirk?"

The blonde raised an eyebrow and nodded.

"What of it?"

"That's cool... I-"

"Eiji, Katsuki, let's go!"

Kirishima looked up at their teacher, still holding her cheek, and the woman gasped.

"Katsuki! Did you hurt her?!"

The blonde stayed quiet, looking away. The teacher put her hands on her hips and shook her head.

"That wasn't very nice. You're going to have to sit in time out during playtime."

"No!"

The woman raised an eyebrow, looking down at the black haired girl tugging on her skirt.

"No?"

"No! He didn't mean to, it was a accident!"

And ever since the day Kirishima stuck up for that boy, they've been best friends.

🎒🎒🎒

"Hey Kat! Can I talk to you for a second?"

Bakugo glanced over at his friend, her uniform clinging to her body. The blonde shrugged, stuffing his hands in his pockets and walking up to the ravenette.

"What is it? Don't waste my time with something stupid, Ei."

"Trust me, it isn't stupid. But... it's really important to me, so we need to go somewhere private. C'mon!"

Bakugo raised an eyebrow but followed his friend, getting more suspicious when he was led to her room. Kirishima looked at him, biting her lip and trembling.

"Ei, what is this about? Hurry up and tell me or I'm gonna l-"

"Don't go!" Kirishima cried, grabbing Bakugo's hand and tugging him away from the door.

Bakugo was, more or less, shocked. Eiji never rose her voice, not even when she was mad.

"Are... are you alright?"

Kirishima looked at the blonde, shaking her head slightly and embracing him.

"This... is really difficult for me, okay? Just... gimme a minute..."

Bakugo rubbed the girl's back, nodding and muttering, "okay," to her gently.

The two stood there for a few minutes, then Kirishima took a deep breath.

"Kat... I-I'm transgender..." She whispered, holding him tighter.

Bakugo was shocked. He stared off into space for a moment, then broke out of his trance when he heard the quiet whimpers coming from his friend.

"Ei... this is... surprising. But I support you, it's okay."

Kirishima looked up at Bakugo, her eyes watering, and thanked him ever so quietly.

"What do you want me to call you, Ei?"

"Just stick with Eiji for now... I don't want anyone else to know yet..."

Bakugo nodded.

"Alright. You're still my best friend, Ei. That'll never change."

🎒🎒🎒

Kirishima didn't want to be Bakugo's friend.

The two were in highschool, and they had been moved to a new orphanage after fifth grade. The ladies that ran it were nice enough, but they wouldn't be there much longer. By now, Kirishima was out as transgender and pansexual.

The women there offered to pay for Kirishima's binder and hormone blockers, and the boy accepted. He started testosterone a few years later.

Kirishima was now taller than the boy he always admired, and Bakugo was proud. Of course, he never said so, but Kirishima knew.

But he didn't want to be friends with the blonde. God, he loved the boy. With all of his heart.

His enthusiasm when fighting, his attitude towards everyone but himself, the way he only shows weakness towards the redhead... Eijiro loved it. Eijiro loved him.

But he didn't want Bakugo to know.

He didn't want to ruin their friendship, meaning he couldn't reveal his feelings.

And that was fine.

🎒🎒🎒

Kirishima stood in his room, his shirt off, showcasing his abs and binder. He stretched his back, his arms reaching over his head. He jumped slightly when there were three loud knocks on his door.

Everyone in his class knew he was trans, so he opened the door as he was.

He didn't expect a punch to his gut.

The redhead doubled over, groaning, and looked up to whoever was at his door.

"Mina, what the fuck?!"

"I should be asking you that! What is this?!" She yelled, shoving her phone in the redheads face.

Kirishima blinked, unable to see the screen, and pushed it back a bit to read.

Kirishima's eyes widened.

Mina pulled her phone away, her hands on her hips.

"What do you have to say?"

"I-"

"Now both Kaminari and Ochaco are crying in their rooms, and I've been running between them, trying to calm them down. That was really fucking sick."

"Ashi-"

"I can't believe you! I thought we were friends! Why the hell-"

"MINA!" Kirishima screamed, tears falling down his face.

The pinkette looked up at him, her breath hitching at the hurt expression on her best friend's face.

"A-Ashi... that wasn't m-me..."

Ashido's eyebrows drew close, her black eyes scanning the redheads face.

"What do you mean..? It's on your account?"

"It wasn't m-e, I s-swear... someone must've hacked my account... I would never.. s-say... that I..." Kirishima cut himself off with a light sob.

Ashido shushed him, embracing the crumbling boy tightly and bringing him to his bed. They both sat down, Mina's shoulder becoming a pool of soaked up tears.

Suddenly, the door slammed open, a seething blonde standing in the doorway. Mina cursed quietly, holding Kirishima a bit tighter.

"HAIR FOR BRAINS, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!"

"Bakug-"

"Just let him, Ashi..." Kirishima whispered.

The pinkette frowned sympathetically, caressing the boy's hair as Bakugo screamed at them. Many curses were thrown around, but the one word that made Kirishima snap was "tranny".

The redhead hadn't even heard the words spoken before that, but he suddenly didn't want anything to do with Bakugo. Kirishima shot up from his bed, not facing either of the quiet people in his room. His head was pointed down, a burning rage plastered on his face.

"Get out."

"What the fuck do you-?!"

"GET. OUT."

Kirishima's head snapped up and faced his former best friend, a foreign snarl making Bakugo step back.

"Ei-"

"Don't fucking call me that. Don't you fucking dare."

"Kirishima, what'd I-"

"Maybe think before you speak, Katsuki," Kirishima hissed, slamming the door in the blonde's face after shoving him out.

Kirishima inhaled deeply, releasing the air after a few seconds. He rested his forehead against the door, his rage melting away and making room for the burning despair.

He cried.

🎒🎒🎒

For the next few days, everyone except Mina avoided the redhead, and Kirishima cut off Bakugo completely. He blocked the blonde's number and blocked him on every social media app he had.

Mina tried to talk to him about it, but whenever the pinkette brought up the ash blonde, Kirishima changed the subject.

On what seemed like the other side of the world, Bakugo was hurting.

Emotionally, physically, you name it.

He had never been good at feelings, but Kirishima had understood him. Kirishima was there for him when he was having problems with his self esteem or his mental state. Kirishima was his only real friend.

And he lost that friend in a split second.

He had been keeping many things from the redhead, a few of those things being his self harm and smoking problems.

At the moment, the blonde was in his bathroom, a pocket knife in hand and his thigh covered in marks.

He lit a cigarette and wiped the blood off of his thigh, taking a few puffs from the cig and putting it out right above the slashes. The blonde hissed but sighed, feeling some of his pent up stress fade away.

He jumped when there was a knock on his dorm door, throwing away the cigarette butt and pulling his pant legs down. He hid the knife quickly and answered the door, scowling when he realized it was Mina.

"What do you want, pink shit?"

"Just wanted to say hi!" She said, inviting herself in.

It was then that Katsuki realized that he didn't shut the bathroom door.

"Why does it smell like smoke in here?"

"You're in my room. Why the hell do you think it smells like smoke?" He used as a quick yet believable excuse.

Mina laughed.

"Yeah, that would make sense, Blasty Boy."

Bakugo growled softly, but closed the bathroom door and sat on his bed.

"What did you actually want, Raccoon Eyes?"

Mina sighed and sat next to the blonde.

"How are you dealing with the Kirishima situation?"

Bakugo held back the waterfall of tears begging to fall.

"I'm fucking fine. I didn't need him anyway."

"Yes you do and the whole class knows it. Except maybe Kiri himself."

Bakugo looked at the girl wide eyed, allowing the manicured hand to rest on his shoulder.

"What's going on, Bakugo? You haven't been as... Bakugo-y in class."

Katsuki considered talking to her. Spilling about all of his problems to her so he could possible get help. But...

"I'm fine. Nothing is wrong, so get the fuck out of my room," he mumbled, looking away and brushing her hand off.

Mina frowned, knowing something was definitely wrong, but got up and left the room anyway.

Bakugo finally let himself cry.

🎒🎒🎒

After Bakugo, Ashido traveled the long distance of five feet to go into Kirishima's room.

"Kiriiiiiiiiiiiiii something is wroooooonnnnnnngggggg!" She yelled softly, trying to make sure the blonde next door wouldn't hear her.

Kirishima looked up from his phone and cocked his head.

"What are you talking about?"

Ashido sighed and flopped next to Kirishima, spreading out on his bed.

"It's Blasty."

"Ashido, you know that I'm done with h-"

"Yeah, but I really think there's something wrong!" She interrupted, throwing her arms up. "I was just over there and it smelled very suspiciously of smoke, but that's probably normal for Bakugo... also, when I asked him if something was wrong, he almost started crying! But then he pushed me away, like always."

Kirishima shrugged.

"It's really not my problem."

Ashido frowned, but didn't speak about it again.

🎒🎒🎒

A few more weeks passed, and Bakugo seemed to be getting worse. One day, he didn't show up to school, which worried some of the class because the blonde had never missed a day of school (not counting his house arrest).

Mina chewed on her newly done nails the whole day, thinking about the boy and what could've happened to him.

At lunch, she immediately headed back to the dorms in search of Bakugo.

She got to his room and immediately smelled smoke, coughing and covering her mouth and nose. She checked the door and saw that it was unlocked, carefully opening the door and stepping into the room. Her eyes widened.

There were tons of cigarette butts in the trash, some left on the floor and the desk. There was a black lighter on the desk as well, and when Ashido went into the bathroom, there were bloodstains on the ground. She touched one and realized that they were still pretty fresh.

She thought for a moment, the headed for the staircase and traveled up. She slammed the door open and looked out, seeing the blonde standing right at the edge of the building, looking down.

"BAKUGO!"

.

.

.

Everything seemed like it was in slow motion.

Bakugo looked back at Mina, tear tracks painted down his face, and smiled softly. He mouthed, "bye", before taking the final step, and falling.

Mina couldn't stand in shock, because she had already rushed over and grabbed the blonde's hand, holding back her own tears. She tugged him back up violently, pushing him away from the edge and falling to her knees in front of him.

"Bakugo... w-"

"Why did you do that," Bakugo growled softly, looking at the floor.

"W-What? I just saved your life!"

"I didn't want you to save my life!" He cried, his body trembling violently as he continued to look down. "I didn't need you to come find me! I don't understand why you felt the need to either."

"Because you're my friend-"

"No I'm not," Bakugo hissed, chuckling softly. "I'm not your friend. You only talked to me because you were friends with Kirishima. You only continued to hang out with me to inform Kirishima on how I was doing. We were never friends, Ashido."

He paused.

"I don't have any friends."

Ashido grabbed Bakugo's shoulders and made him look up at her, her nose running and tears streaming down her face.

"Bakugo, Maybe I did only talk to you because I was friends with Kirishima, but I wouldn't have stuck around if I didn't want to be your friend. After you and Kirishima fought, I checked on you because I was concerned about your well being. Kirishima obviously didn't care, but I did. Because I didn't want you to end up doing this. You have no idea how happy I am that you're alive, but I'm also really hurt that you could've even thought about committing suicide with all the dreams you have. What happened to being the #1 hero?"

"That'll never happen. Fucking Deku and Icyhot are stronger than I'll ever be. I'll never surpass All Might."

"But you have to try, Bakugo."

Just before Mina spoke again, the bell rang.

"Go back to class. I don't need you up here."

"No."

Bakugo glared at Ashido.

"Fine."

🎒🎒🎒

The two sat on the roof until the end of the school day, Ashido holding Bakugo and whispering to him words of encouragement that she hoped were working. The blonde stayed silent, his head rested on Mina's shoulder, and arms reluctantly wrapped around her torso.

They heard people walking around the dorms, laughing and talking, until a scream echoed through the building. Mina sighed, knowing that someone had found Bakugo's room and would be coming.

And that's what happened.

After a few minutes, the door burst open again, revealing a small group of the class.

Iida was the first to walk up to the pair, obviously about to scold them, but paused. He took a closer look at the tears on their faces and where they were, and his eyes widened.

He slowly sat down next to Mina, not saying a word.

Next was Kaminari and Sero, and they both wrapped their arms around the pair, Kaminari immediately starting to cry.

After them was Todoroki, Midoriya (Who kept his distance), Asui, and Ochako.

They all stayed quiet, deciding to remain on the roof, until Aizawa came up.

"Where is Bakugo?"

The blonde tensed in Ashido's arms, but slowly got up and walked over with his head down.

"Sensei..?"

Aizawa was quiet for a moment, then sighed, placing a hand on Bakugo's shoulder.

"I'm not going to punish you. But you do need to clean up your room and hand over your lighters, cigarettes, and any kind of sharp object. I'm going to find someone that you can talk to, alright?"

Bakugo slowly nodded, bowing slightly, and pushed past him. He opened the rooftop door and walked down the stairs, leaving everyone else behind.

He walked down to his floor and entered his room, where a window had already been opened to clear out all of the smoke. He closed the door behind himself and started to clean up.

After about an hour, Aizawa came in to confiscate his items.

Bakugo handed over two lighters, a few packs of cigarettes, and many assorted sharp objects. Knives, razors, pencil sharpeners, etcetera.

All he had left to clean was his bathroom, so he went down to the common room to get a washcloth. Most of the class was there, including Kirishima, but he ignored them, getting what he needed and walking back up.

He was in the middle of wiping off his counter when there was a knock on his door.

"Who the fuck is it?"

There was no response, so the blonde sighed.

"Whatever. It's open."

He heard his door open and close softly, footsteps walking over to his bathroom.

"Hey," a familiar voice muttered.

Bakugo rolled his eyes.

"What do you want," he replied coldly.

"I just wanted to say sorry..." Kirishima mumbled.

"Sure, a pathetic 'sorry' will cure three whole months of ignoring me as well as my depression. Thanks a lot," he hissed, angrily scrubbing at a patch of blood.

Kirishima bit his lip, taking a step back.

"I... I'm sorry for even coming. I'll leave..."

"Your ass isn't going fucking anywhere," Bakugo growled, throwing the washcloth down and turning to Kirishima.

He stormed up to the redhead and grabbed the collar of his shirt, slamming their lips together and closing his eyes. Kirishima sat there in shock, then melted into the kiss and wrapped his arms around the blonde with a soft smile.

They pulled away after a few moments, panting softly and cheeks pink.

"I'm sorry for using the t-word," Bakugo whispered.

"I'm sorry for causing you pain," Kirishima whispered back. "Will you be my boyfriend?"

"Hell yeah."
