A Siren's Last Lullaby

Some days I remember how the shadow-burnt birds crowed

How the eyes of the stars watched me corrode

I swam with the fishes that were made out of dreams

And I remember the cold bite that ran down the streams

A river that was made of liquified wishes

Drowned me in fear and horrified kisses

The water so thin I could breathe it like air

The drops straightening the lively curls of my hair

The flames quenched their thirst with the motionless world

My lungs became poisoned with lies tightly furled

I opened my mouth to take a deep breath

And my eyes saw the watery glare of a siren's death

I begged for my princess to sing once again

But the ocean had replaced the red blood in her vein

And my dear silhouette who once danced on the hills

Was floating in her tears, silent with chills

The ocean became solemn, the skies turned away

The memories of cherished hope pass and decay

I watched the waters of her eyes ripple closed

And the song of her ocean ended before it was composed
