Chapter 3 : Yuki Hoshi

Chapter 3 is here~ yay back to the main plot~ and I even decided to make flowery pics for my readers when I can like you saw in the last chapter~ anyway let us continue with the plot~

Kurai POV

I looked over at Hikari, he was standing on the edge of the hole, his mouth was open in shock, revealing his glinting fangs. I couldn't understand why of what happened to make the cosmic lab to suddenly just vanish with only a crater left in its place.

What about our way back home?.... Am I glad that its gone? I don't know..

"Kurai.... Do you have any thoughts about what could be capable of doing something like this?..."

Hikari asked, while he knelt down and grazed his hands over the surface of the hole's edge. His crimson eyes were staring intently at the ground as he examined it. I didn't bother to ask what he was doing because I didn't want to break the snowy haired teen's concentration.

I got distracted when I noticed a raspberry bush a few feet away from us, I felt a pain in my stomach when I remembered that I hadn't eaten anything for a while.

Maybe I should have a few, it's not like they're poisonous, I've learned about berries from Hikari due to me almost killing myself by eating the wrong ones.

I walked over happily to go pick myself some berries to snack on, Hikari was busy examining the dirt for reasons unknown to me.

A small snack won't cause any problems at all, it will help me concentrate better.

I began to pick the raspberries, after I had a few handfuls I froze and dropped all of them. I was startled by the sight of icy blue eyes staring fiercely at me from inside the huge bush, the gaze felt like it could see into my very soul.

"Uhh Hikari...."

I backed away from the bush quickly, there were many unknown creatures in this dorks and for all I knew, whatever those fierce eyes belonged to could make me into a pile of mush. I knew that Hikari was strong and could most likely destroy the creature if it attacked.

"Yeah Kurai?"

Hikari got up from his crouching and walked over to me, his deep crimson eyes flickered with slight confusion from how I was acting. I pointed towards the bush that I had backed away from.

"There's something in there...."

The snowy haired teen sighed and walked over to me, he was frowning and I guessed that he was probably mocking me inside that head of his.

It's not my fault I know almost nothing...

Suddenly a scarlet haired girl leaped out of the raspberry bush at Hikari, she was wearing simple patternless teal shirt and black silky pants, she had a small white hair clip pinning her waist length hair to the side so that it wouldn't get in her way.

The strange girl threw scraps of paper at Hikari, she glared at him with her icy eyes as she commended.

"Asakura Flew!"

At her words, the scraps bursted into flames as soon as they made contact with Hikari. He cried out in pain from the fire as he began to roll on the ground in an attempt to quench the flames.

What the?! Who is this girl?!

I backed away from the unnamed girl, she looked to be around 19 and she was a inch taller than me.

"Idiot freakish lady!"

Hikari yelled at her, his crimson eyes were flaring with fury as he stomped angrily over towards her, his snowy white hair was slightly singed and he was covered in dirt, conclusion; Hikari was pissed.

I had to stop myself from laughing slightly, at Hikari's remark. It looked like it had somewhat offended the girl. It was strange, she only went after Hikari and not me.

Wait.... Hikari told me how much most humans hate vampires... I shouldn't be laughing. Hikari could be in danger... But , what can I do? She has freaky powers... Me? The most I can do is head but or tackle her.

"I Yuki Hoshi, trained exorcist of evil, must destroy the creature of the night that you call Hikari"

Yuki replied coldly, she was giving Hikari that icy glare of hers as she pulled out more scraps of paper.
I looked over towards my snowy haired friend with worry, I knew that people like her were what he hated the most, they had caused him so much pain in the past. However if I tried to help, I knew that I'd probably make things way worse for Hikari.

Hikari... Please don't let her destroy you....

"An exorcist huh? So you're just going to kill me?....."

Hikari growled towards Yuki, I understood his anger. It wasn't fair that he was deemed evil right at the start.

"Yes.... Vampires have caused so much harm...."

Yuki's voice was soft, I thought I could see faint sadness glimmer within her icy eyes for a second.

Did vampires do something to her in the past?...

"You're wrong...Hikari is kind! He's done so much for me! You can't just judge him!"

I cried out, I was seriously worried about Hikari now, not just his body but how his mind must be like.

He freaked so much when I asked about vampires that one time and it was an innocent question... But Yuki, she seems like she really wants Hikari dead.

Yuki whipped her icy gaze towards me, I felt slightly intimidated by her. She let off an aura of strength even though she wasn't bulky.

"You defend a vampire? But are you not a human?"

Her tone wasn't icy like the one she had used with Hikari, instead it was questioning. I nodded quickly and smiled with unease.

"I see.... Then I'll let the strength of an aura decide..."

Yuki whispered into the paper scraps then in in instant they were scattered everywhere, disintegrating into shining particles.

"Holyium asu! Let the piercing light judge ones souls and display their nature."

Yuki, chanted as the shining particles surrounded us.

It hurts...why

I resisted the urge to flinch as I worriedly looked over at Hikari, I was glad when he seemed to be just fine.
Hikari smiled at her, his fangs glinted in the moonlight as his deep crimson pools flickered with amusement. Yuki glared at him then smiled a little.

"The first vampire ever to not scream in pain after that spell, it seems that your little friend was right"

Yuki smirked, she didn't seem like she was upset at being proved wrong. The scarlet haired girl just kept on getting more and more confusing.

"The both of you interest me, I think I'll tag along wherever you guys go"

Wait what?!

"No, I don't trust you"

Hikari glared at her, I didn't blame him. I wouldn't be too keen on hanging out with a person who only minutes ago wanted me dead.

"Too bad boys, you've both caught my interest"

Hikari kept glaring at her, Yuki had a smug smile on her face, it was amusing seeing her easily get on Hikari's nerves.

Wait maybe she knows about the cosmic lab!

"Ah Yuki... Do you know about what happened to the cosmic lab?"

I was hoping that she knew the answer, I was a little worried how such a huge building could be destroyed so quickly. My question also seemed to catch Hikari's attention as well.
I noticed yuki frown slightly as if she was confused herself about the matter.

"I'm not positive but.... A saw a strange person standing in front of the lab. Then the person raised their left hand and the building suddenly disappeared as if it was sucked into a void of some sort.... I didn't really get to see what the figure looked like either..."

Is that even possible?! That can't be right? I don't want to go anywhere near a person like that..

"So in other words me and Kurai's chance of getting home is gone..."

Hikari sounded so upset, it hurt because he had been hoping to get back home so much. Every day he had talked about getting home since we began searching, his eyes crimson eyes were always bright at those times.

"It's okay Hikari... We'll find another lead to get back home"

I patted his back sadly, I didn't know what else to say to cheer him up, I was also upset. However I was slightly glad, it meant Hikari couldn't leave me just yet, though that thought made me feel a little guilty.

I just don't want to lose a friend... You helped me when I was lost and alone...

Hikari POV

I couldn't believe that the cosmic lab was no longer existent, it seemed so unfair to be true. Me and Kurai had been so close to this clue that could have allowed us to return home.

I was so close... Now what do I do? We had spent so long searching and when we finally get a clue... it disappears. But what could have done something to eliminate an entire building in such a short time?

"Kurai.... Do you have any thoughts about what could be capable of doing something like this?..."

I asked while I knelt Dow to examine the ground where the crater started, it was solid and cracked, as if it hadn't rained in weeks yet it had rained only a few days ago. Kurai didn't respond so I guessed he had no clue either.

Why did I even expect him to have an idea in the first place?

The ground didn't seem natural, it was if all the moisture had been leeched out and taken away from it. Even the surface of the crater was strange, it was too smoothly be an natural disaster, also there was no scattered pieces of building.

It's as if the cosmic lab was scooped out of the earth it something... If so, why? Why would someone or something do that?

I felt uneasy at the thought of something so destructive, if something like that did indeed exist, I would stay as far away from it as possible.

It could really hurt me badly... Or potentially kill Kurai... actually it won't , I won't let that ever happen.

"Uhh Hikari...."

I looked up at Kurai who called my name, he was cautiously backing away from a raspberry bush. I grimaced when I remembered how the idiot once almost died from eating unknown berries.

At least they're raspberries...

"Yeah Kurai?"

I got up and walked over to him confused, he knew what those berries were so he couldn't be wondering about them.

Did something scare him?

"There's something in there...."

I sighed slightly annoyed with the coal haired boy in front of me.

Why does someone with those looks have to be that stupid and idiotic? It's probably a rat or something.

Suddenly a scarlet haired girl wearing bland and boring clothes leaped out of the raspberry bush, her icy eyes glared at me. The unnamed annoyance threw scraps of paper at me.

Paper can't hurt me...unless she's trying to give me a paper cut.

"Asakura Flew!"

The freaky lady commanded, as soon as those words left her mouth I caught on fire. I cried out in pain at the searing heat as I rolled on the ground, trying to douse the painfully hot flames.

The hell?! Paper shouldn't be able to do that! And this freakin hurts!! Psychotic woman!

"Idiot freakish lady!"

I yelled at her as soon as the fire had went out, I was furious that some strange lady just randomly set me on fire.

She's lucky I heal quickly or else she would have paid dearly... Plus, what kind of person sets others on fire when they just met?!

"I Yuki Hoshi, trained exorcist of evil, must destroy the creature of the night that you call Hikari"

Exorcist.... Of course that's why you tried to harm me... I should have realized that at the start, I guess being around Kurai made me lower my guard..

The crazy lady's voice was cold, I didn't care what name she called herself. To me, she was just a judgemental psychotic lady.
I returned her icy glare with a glare of my own as I watched her pull out more scraps of paper.

This is exactly why I do not like being around most humans... As soon as they find out I'm a vampire, they want me dead...

"An exorcist huh? So you're just going to kill me?....."

I growled, I was beginning to hate this lady more and more.

"Yes.... Vampires have caused so much harm...."

Vampires caused you harm?... Well humans have caused me so much trouble and pain!....

I ignored the sudden quietness of her voice, I didn't give a single care about her problems. I was having a hard enough time dealing with my own.

"You're wrong...Hikari is kind! He's done so much for me! You can't just judge him!"

Kurai?!?......

Kurai cried out, his sea green eyes made him seem like he could cry any second, it made me feel warm knowing I at least had one friend.

I'm so glad that I at least have you on my side Kurai, I don't know what would have happened if I didn't meet you. That's the only thing I'm thankful about in coming to this strange world.

I tensed when the psyco flipped her icy gaze towards Kurai, in result frightening him a little.

Don't you dare hurt him or I swear I'll...

"You defend a vampire? But are you not a human?"

The lady questioned my coal haired friend, who replied with a quick nod and an uneasy smile.

He's closer to your so called humanity than most humans are! He actually has kindness towards others no matter what they are!

"I see.... Then I'll let the strength of an aura decide..."

A what?..

I watched the scarlet haired lady whisper into the paper scraps that she had pulled out earlier. In a instant they were scattered everywhere and disintegrated into shining particles.

"Holyium asu! Let the piercing light judge ones souls and display their nature."

The lady, chanted as the shining particles surrounded us.

...... Is she joking? Nothing's happening.

I smiled smugly at the so called exorcist, amused that her little game had failed. Her icy glare made me all the more happy.

It seemed you wasted your time.

"The first vampire ever to not scream in pain after that spell, it seems that your little friend was right"

Kurai doesn't lie.... He's too stupid to anyway.... Though I'm glad about that I guess.

I noticed the confusion swirling within Kurai's sea green eyes, also that the moonlight had disappeared so that he no longer seemed to glow.

"The both of you interest me, I think I'll tag along wherever you guys go"

No way in hell.... You try to kill me, insult me, and now you want to hang around me?! You're an exorcist, I'm a vampire doesn't that sound like trouble!?

"No, I don't trust you"

I glared at the crazy lady, her level of craziness seemed to keep on increasing, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with her.

"Too bad boys, you've both caught my interest"

You little! If Kurai wasn't here I'd....

I glared at her, deeply annoyed with her smug smile. I didn't want her to join in on me and Kurai's travels together.

It was fine with just me and Kurai...

"Ah Yuki... Do you know about what happened to the cosmic lab?"

Ah for once Kurai used his head! I should have thought of that.

His question peaked my interest, I was also curious whether or not the psyco knew about the cosmic lab. However that was quickly dissolved when she frowned with a confused look on her face.

"I'm not positive but.... A saw a strange person standing in front of the lab. Then the person raised their left hand and the building suddenly disappeared as if it was sucked into a void of some sort.... I didn't really get to see what the figure looked like either..."

Okay... I'm keeping me and Kurai away from whoever that is... That's just so... Messed up and strange.

"So in other words me and Kurai's chance of getting home is gone..."

I suddenly remembered that we'd have to restart our search, we had been so close yet so far.

Why does nothing ever turn out right? I want to get back, back to the world where vampires are common, back to the world that's familiar to me.. Even if vampires are still hated there..

"It's okay Hikari... We'll find another lead to get back home"

I hope so... I really do Kurai, I just want to go home...... But I wonder if you'll continue to follow me if we do get back?... I hope so.
.

Me: that's the end of the chapter~

Hikari: why the hell did you add a psyco into the main character section.
