Chapter 15 is here~~ yay! Finally exams over so I can write at school~~ ... I walked all the way to school on a snow day in le freezing and windy coldness just to bring you this chapter! Q~Q I have so little Internet time now...

Kurai POV

At least we now are able to have some umi deer...

I was a little disappointed in not being able to be taught by Yuki but I decided that right now that I should just focus on reaching a town.

"Kurai you should go fetch Hikari while I start preparing the umi deer"

Yuki said as she began to brush dirt out of the deer's fur, I nodded and left the scarlet haired girl.

I wonder if Hikari went far, he was really creeped out after all.

I didn't want to call out my snowy haired friend's name so as to not draw in any dangerous creatures so I stuck to searching silently.

After a few minuets I ran into Hikari, who had been washing his face in a small pond.

"Yuki caught us a umi deer, there's no need to continue searching for anymore food"

I said as I watched the snowy haired vampire get up from kneeling and washing his face.

"Okay, I guess we should head back Kurai"

Hikari sighed, I could tell that he still wasn't fully over the bug incident.

The two of us hurried over towards where Yuki was, it surprised me that the scarlet haired girl had already prepared the umi deer and had started cooking it.

"Woah, that was really quick Yuki!"

I gasped as I looked over at the cooking umi deer meat that was hung over the fire pit. The scarlet haired girl smirked.

"Yeah, I just used a few talismans"

Talismans really are amazing and mysterious... I thought that exorcists only use them for banishing evil and stay together. Wonder where her other friends are.

"Well I'm glad, the quicker we eat, the quicker we can head out again"

Hikari said as he reached for one of the umi deer skewers, the scarlet haired girl slapped Hikari's hand away before he could touch it.

"No! Wait until the food is done cooking!"

Yuki scolded as Hikari narrowed his crimson eyes while rubbing his hand that had been struck.

And I thought I was the hungry one...

I smiled at how well my friends were getting along.

We all waited until the umi deer meat was finished cooking before we began to eat. None of us ate slow enough to taste the food after the first bite, we hadn't realized how hungry we actually were.

"Ah that was nice"

The scarlet haired girl sighed happily as she slumped down onto the ground. I looked over towards Hikari to see that he was putting out the fire with dirt, all ready to go.

"Get up Yuki, we're leaving now"

My snowy haired friend said as he nudged Yuki's leg with his foot. The scarlet haired girl gave an annoyed look before getting up and brushing dirt off of her clothes.

"Aww I wanted to relax for a bit to enjoy my full stomach..."

The scarlet girl whined, I laughed at how strange Yuki was.

"Pft if you lay down after every meal you'll get fat"

Yuki's icy eyes shot daggers at Hikari after he spoke, the snowy haired teen just smirked and began to walk through the forest, not waiting for Yuki to put up her talisman to lead us.

I quickly hurried after him, I didn't want my snowy haired friend to leave me behind or accidentally get lost.

I winced when I suddenly heard a soft whimpering sound, it only lasted a second however. I looked at Hikari then towards Yuki to see that neither of the two had heard the sound.

Maybe I was imagining things? It sounded like it was in pain though...

"No stop... Please"

I quickly looked over in the direction where I had heard the voice come from. Hikari stopped walking and looked at me in confusion.

"What's wrong Kurai?"

My snowy haired friend asked as he walked over so that he was standing beside me.

"I thought I heard someone cry out..."

The snowy haired vampire frowned slightly as he tried to listen for the cry that I had heard.

"I don't hear anything..."

But I'm sure I heard it...

"Maybe we should head in the direction that you thought it came from Kurai"

Yuki said as she caught up to us, I nodded. I was curious as to what caused the soft cry that I heard.

"Sure why not? Lead the way Kurai"

Hikari said, I smiled thankful that my two friends believed me instead of ignoring me.

I lead my two friends for a while until we all heard a loud cry.

"Please don't hurt me anymore!...."

The three of us quickened our pace, it was easy to tell that someone was getting hurt. We ran until we came across a small tab haired boy, he was covering his face and huddled close together as he was being struck by a grubby looking man.

"Stop!"

My snowy haired friend called as he caught the leather whip in mid flight, protecting the smaller boy. The grubby man narrowed his already too small eyes into a glare.

"Boy, you don't know what you're saying! That there child is a vampire!"

The stranger hissed as he tried to yank the whip out of Hikari's hand. My snowy haired friend's grip tightened around the leather whip.

That kid is a vampire like Hikari?

"That doesn't matter"

Hikari's voice was low and made me feel uneasy, the grubby man gasped and backed away from us, releasing the whip in the process.

"Y-you're a monster just like the brat!"

The man's voice trembled before he caught sight of me and Yuki then ran towards us and hid behind Yuki.

"Exorcist girl, defeat the demons!"

That's so mean.... Hikari's not a mean person... He's so kind and caring..

The man cried out, the scarlet haired girl rolled her icy eyes and sighed in annoyance before she grabbed the collar of the man's coat and threw him to the ground.

"Yeah I'm an exorcist, but I only destroy monsters and you seem to be way more of a monster than Hikari"

Yuki's voice was cold and emotionless, the man shook dirt off of him then scurried away from us.

I looked over towards the small tan haired boy, he seemed young, maybe around eight years old.

"You okay?"

I asked as I reached my hand out towards him, the smaller boy flinched and recoiled slightly at my touch. I frowned slightly at how scared he was.

Poor kid.... I wonder if Hikari went through something similar when he was a kid...

"It's okay, Kurai won't hurt you. Please tell us your name"

The softness in Hikari's voice surprised me as my snowy haired friend knelt down and slowly offered his hand to help up the small boy.

The smaller boy's ruby eyes flickered with fear before he blushed slightly and allowed Hikari to help him up.

"My name is Sora..."

The tan haired boy whispered softly as he hid behind Hikari. Yuki smiled kindly as she leaned down to Sora's height.

"Nice to meet you Sora, you're a little cutie, and my name is Yuki"

The scarlet haired girl said, I smiled slightly at how Sora didn't flinch away like he did with me.

"Sora, why were you and that man out here?"

There doesn't look like there's anyplace that's near here...

My snowy haired friend said as he patted Sora lightly on the head. Sora lowered his ruby eyes to the ground and looked away with a slight blush on his face.

"Mr.Recon had gotten upset when I went to go buy food at his store so he punished me..."

The tan haired boy said softly as he shuffled his feet on the ground.

What? Just because Sora wanted to eat that guy decided to harm him?.... That's not fair....

"Sora please if you can, lead us to the town you were at"

My snowy haired friend said, Sora's ruby eyes widened in dismay and fear at the mention of going back. Hikari ruffled the smaller boy's tan hair.

"Don't worry, we won't let anyone hurt you."

I said, I didn't want the small boy being scared just at the thought of going back to his home, it just didn't seem right to me.

"Okay.... But you have to keep your promise and protect me..."

The tan haired boy said as he blushed slightly.

He's so shy... How can he possibly be called a monster?

Hikari smirked and shook his head with a false sigh.

"Kurai can't protect you sora but I'll make sure me and Yuki keep you safe"

I frowned slightly, I knew it was true but I still didn't like the feeling of being told that.

Hikari POV

I looked over and saw a small pond, I decided to wash my face in it because I didn't know when the next chance I would have to do so would be.

After I finished washing my face I looked up to see Kurai looking at me.

Wonder how long he's been there.

"Yuki caught us a umi deer, there's no need to continue searching for anymore food"

My coal haired friend said as I got up from kneeling on the ground.

It's been a while since I've had umi deer, it's surprising that they managed to catch one.

"Okay, I guess we should head back Kurai"

I sighed, I hoped that the scarlet haired exorcist no longer had any more bugs.

The two of us hurried over towards where Yuki was with Kurai leading, thankfully the coal haired boy didn't make a mistake and we arrived to see that Yuki had already started to skin the umi deer of its blue fur.

"Woah, that was really quick Yuki!"

Kurai gasped as he gazed over the cooking deer meat that was hung over the fire. The scarlet haired girl then smirked.

"Yeah, I just used a few talismans"

Very quick at preparing food, must be more work of Yuki's overly convenient talismans.

"Well I'm glad, the quicker we eat, the quicker we can head out again"

I said as I reached for some of the umi deer meat skewers only to have my hand slapped away by Yuki before I could even touch the food.

"No! Wait until the food is done cooking!"

Stingy...

I narrowed my eyes as the scarlet haired girl scolded me. I rubbed my hand that Yuki had struck.

Didn't have to hit me..

When the umi deer was finished, the three of us talked until we had finished eating, I didn't even taste it. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I had taken a few bites.

"Ah that was nice"

Yuki sighed happily as she slumped down onto the ground with content, I on the other hand put out the fire with the pile of dirt I had made beforehand.

"Get up Yuki, we're leaving now"

I said as I nudged Yuki's leg with my foot. The scarlet haired girl gave an annoyed look before getting up and brushing dirt off of her clothes.

"Aww I wanted to relax for a bit to enjoy my full stomach..."

So lazy.... We need to go to a town where people are to get information.

The scarlet girl whined, Kurai laughed, probably from how strange Yuki was.

"Pft if you lay down after every meal you'll get fat"

Yuki's icy eyes shot daggers at me after I spoke, I just smirked and began to walk through the forest, not waiting for Yuki to put up her talisman to lead us because I figured it wouldn't hurt to lead ourselves.

I was glad when I heard Kurai following after me, I didn't need him getting lost only to have to search for him.

After a while I heard Kurai's steps stop, I looked back at him in confusion as to why the coal haired boy had stopped walking.

"What's wrong Kurai?"

I asked as I walked over to the younger boy so that I was now standing beside him.

"I thought I heard someone cry out..."

A voice?.... Wouldn't I hear it as well?

I frowned slightly as I tried to hear whatever Kurai had heard but I ended up hearing nothing.

"I don't hear anything..."

Strange but he doesn't seem to be lying...

"Maybe we should head in the direction that you thought it came from Kurai"

Yuki said as she caught up to us, I didn't mind, I was also slightly curious as to what the coal haired boy had heard.

"Sure why not? Lead the way Kurai"

I said, my coal haired friend smiled thankfully at me and Yuki.

Me and the scarlet haired girl allowed Kurai to lead us through the woods for a while.

"Please don't hurt me anymore!...."

I heard that!

Another judger..... I can never understand why they exist...

The stranger hissed as he tried to yank the whip out of my hand. I tightened my grip around the leather whip.

It's never fair...

"That doesn't matter"

I could tell that my voice was low I wanted to cause fear within the lowlife who had tried to harm the boy, the grubby man gasped and backed away from us, releasing the whip in the process.

The tan haired boy whispered softly as he hid behind me. Yuki smiled kindly as she leaned down to Sora's height.

"Nice to meet you Sora, you're a little cutie, and my name is Yuki"

The scarlet haired girl said, it was nice how Sora didn't flinch like before.

"Sora, why were you and that man out here?"

There's nothing around here...

I said as I patted Sora lightly on the head. Sora lowered his ruby eyes to the ground and looked away with a slight blush on his face.

So quiet and shy... He's better than many human children.

I smirked and shook my head with a false sigh,

I wonder if there are more horrible people in the town... If so I'll teach them a lesson.

Me: chappy finished....

Kurai: why you like that?

Me: >.> I want to read but I have to write

Hikari: so?

Me: >^< there is so much to read but I have limited wifi time so I need to write instead

Hikari: ah.... Well when you regain wifi outside of school you can have a long reading session.

Yuki: true
