Chapter 19

(Where the comments at?)

{Your Point Of Veiw}

I let Lauren go this morning, there was no point in keeping her. She agreed to leave town and to never come back. However, my investigation is far from over.

I grab my handcuffs from my desk and take a drive down to the marksman shop.

"How may I help you today sheriff", he says with a smirk.

Instead  of answering I walk behind him and place the handcuffs on his wrists.

"Wanna tell me, why I am in handcuffs,"  he says.

"You are under arrest for attempting to distribute an illegal substance", I reply.

"Bullshit," he snickers.

"No, that's some pretty real shit," I chuckle.

I walk him out of his shop and towards my car. I put him in the sheriff car.

"Y/n," I hear Romeo's voice from behind me.

"Romeo? What are you doing here", I ask.

"Im on my way to work, but who do you have in your car," he asks, almost in a worried tone.

"Marks," why, I ask.

"Oh no! Listen I know now might not be a great time to say this, but you have to let him go," he pleads.

I laugh.

"You're kidding right", I ask confused.

"No, I have alot to explain, but this is what he wants! He is trying to get back at the dark majesty", Romeo says.

"The what now", I furrow my eyebrows.

"Lana, he is going to hurt you both, you have to listen to me," Romeo says.

"Listen kid, I think those story books are fucking with your head", I kiss his cheek before stepping into my car.

I drove back to the station and threw Mark's into the cell. Im sitting at my desk just staring at him. Im thinking about his motive, he appears to be clean, why would he need to sell drugs? Why would he exchange drugs for people to come here?

"Are you going to speak," his voice breaks my trance.

"Tell me something. how did Lana know to tip me off about you", I ask the man.

"I dont know what you are talking about," he shrugs.

"She thought you were selling drugs. Apparently she was right," I say.

"I didnt sell anything", he replies.

"I know! Thats the crazy thing! You and these deals you make, they are not working for you bud", I chuckle.

he looks at me unfazed.

I fold my hands and lean closer to him.

"You're caught. But I feel like there is more to you than I have found," I bite down on my pen.

"You're not wrong Sherrif," he smirks.

"Well, just know that whatever you're up to,  is over. Because I got you," I smirk.

"If I didnt want to be here, I wouldnt be here", he grins before laughing.

something about his words trigger the alarms in my head.

I shake my head.

I tap my pen on my desk for a while until somebody walks into my office.

Camila.

Its funny,  the last time she was in my doorway, she had those pretty fingers down her-

"Hi Camila," I say.

"Hey, um, can we talk for a second," she asks.

I look over in the cell and nod. We step outside into the hallway.

"Whats up", I ask casually.

"So, I figured after yesterday that you would be pretty busy. And I know being a sheriff isn't exactly an easy job, especially when you have a little brother to look after", she giggles.

"Yeah, it can get a little crazy", I giggle.

"Well, what im trying to say is, I really would like to help out around here," she says shyly.

"Camila", I start.

"I know, its important work, and that you can only tell me but so much, but I really wanna spend more time with you", she says.

I take a moment to comsider her offer.

"What about the camp," I question.

"I told my parents I needed a break, and they understood", she says.

"I could use some help... But, I will have to speak with Lana before I can promise anything," I barely finish my sentence before Camila engulfs me with a tight hug.

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou," she mumbles into my shirt.

"Its no problem Camzi", I giggle.

"Camzi? Is this taking the place of Canola," she asks with a slight smirk.

"Who knows. Canola is iconic," I say.

Camila rolls her eyes playfully.

"Call me after you talk to Lana, I have to go. I'm taking Sofia out for ice cream", Camila says.

"Aww, I wasnt even invited", I joke.

"Sowwy, next time," she quirks an eyebrow.

"I would love that", I giggle.

Camila smiles at me before walking down the hallway.

I cant help but smile to myself, whenever she is around I feel different. Like as long as she is around, everything will be okay.

I walk back into my office and find Jessie humming a song, while smiling creepily.

"Dude, are you high", I ask.

"Nope, but she's running out of time," he chirps.

"Who is running out of time", I ask confused.

"La Na," he sings.

"Okay its normal to not like your former spouse, but you take it to an all new creepy level", I say.

He just smiles at me and I shake my head.
