"Bava Bava Bava.."

Vennela was trying her best to get Jai's attention who was busily taking his wallet, watch and mobile.

"NO"

Was his answer for all her BAVA's. But Vennela was.. Well.. Vennela. As Jai was about to leave their room, she stood on the threshold blocking his path and looked at him breathing fire.

"I AM COMING!"

She said and crossed her arms across her front. Jai went crazy looking at her as her belly was a little more prominent now and her crossing her arms was making her look so beautiful. This posture of Vennela has always been Jai's weakness and now even more so and she knew it well to take advantage.

"Vennela.. Its too much car travel in these village roads."

Vennela gave one smack behind his head making him wince.

"Dont give me excuses. Through our firm only we made arrangements for the roads to be laid."

Jai bit his tongue. Elders said right, never let your wife into your business.

"Bava!!"

Jai looked at her with an expression of a toddler caught while sneaking in for sweets.

"You were planning to take bike right?"

She asked with her hands on her hips.

"Vennela... Athi..."

But who was listening to him.

"MAVAIYYYYAAAA"

Vennela was calling as she went out their room. New room, that was downstairs. Vennela's old room. Jai followed her out shaking his head.

"Entamma? Evayindi?"

Deva asked.

"Mavaiyya.. What did you say?"

Deva looked at Jai in question who just shrugged.

"You said NO BIKE RIDING right?"

"Vennela! That was for you."

Deva said and then bit his tongue like Jai did sometime back.

"If I am not getting on that bike, he is not riding that either."

Vennela said and snatched the keys from the keys basket and moved out to the backyard. Deva chuckled and looked at Jai who was chuckling too.

"Enti nanna.."

"Mood swings. When Seetha Atha said, I should be ready to face anything, she did not tell me that it would be like this."

Deva laughed loud.

"This is just start Jai. She is just 14 weeks."

"It gets worse?"

Jai widened his eyes. Deva laughed even more.

"Yes.. Once Latha, when she was almost 6 months, wanted to eat Gutti Vankaya made from Guntur mirchi. Where will I get them in Mumbai. But she was ready go on hunger strike. So I went around Mumbai streets to find the masala, mirchi and made the curry. That woman did not rest until she tasted the Chillies and Vankaya!"

Deva chuckled remembering it. Jai stood there with a smile looking at his father opening about his mother at last. It was nothing new. He used to tell stories about Latha to Vennela making her laugh and chuckle.

Lakshmi used to smile seeing all this. Jai who was first a little taken aback, then started enjoying them as he saw a side to his father that no one saw, not even him until a news of his child came along.

"Looks like I troubled you and Mom a lot?"

"AMMA!"

Vennela yelled from the back door as usual. Both men chuckled.

"Ledu nanna. I was doing for my family. And like a prize jewel, you were there for us."

Jai smiled looking down. Deva just gave him a tap on his back.

"Now it is your turn."

He said and went out for the Panchayat meet of the village. Jai smiling went to his tornado.

"Vennela.."

He called her and went near her who was standing next to a haystack.

"NO BIKE!"

She said turning to him and was playing with the end of her saree pallu. Jai looked around and seeing no one around, he pulled her to the other side of the stack and made her lean on it as he leaned on her.

"Why?"

He whispered. Vennela looked up at him as her hands sneaked around his neck.

"Take me along Bava."

She whispered back.

"Why ra?"

"I am so bored Bava. Its been long time since we went out somewhere apart from clinic for check up. Take me to see the new school. Please."

She said caressing his ears. Another weakness she found.

"In bike?"

"Yes. We will go slow."

Jai smiled.

"Okay.. But I want something in return"

He bargained.

"Huh?"

"I am breaking a rule. So I expect something to escape any scoldings."

He shrugged leaning in more as his hands went around her waist.

"What could that be?"

She frowned. But her eyes twinkled in the naughtiness she tried to hide which reflected in his eyes.

"Find out."

He said as his face closed in. And she did not stop him as she met him halfway. 15 months of marriage, 21 months of knowing each other, did nothing to the spark they had. In fact, their spark grew day by day as their care for each other kept growing.

They did not know for how long they stood like that. But they broke apart hearing Arjun's shout from the door.

"Rei Bava. Its time for the cattle to be fed. If you both stand there for some more time, they will come there by themselves to eat. Peddamma and Athaiyya have been trying to hint which went on deaf ears!"

Which was followed by Manasa's giggle. Jai just came out with the best poker face he could manage followed by Vennela who tried to look angry but the color raising in her face betrayed her bad.

"Jai.. We have to go for Vindhu this afternoon at my home.."

Manasa said and Arjun cut in.

"And we have to take a look at the school also today only. Remember?"

They asked Jai and Vennela who were now on the threshold of the back door.

"Yes yes... I asked you to leave kada?"

Jai said frowning.

"I should have done that. By now I would be having sumptuous meal. But I thought lets wait for Bava who said he would follow us."

Arjun said narrowing his eyes.

"Rei chaalu. Stop! Go start your car and go to Manasa's place. We will follow you."

"Ante.. Mahathalli is also joining us?"

"Do I look like I have choice Arjun?"

Jai asked making Arjun and Manasa laugh.

"Sorry to say this Jai.. But I TOLD YOU SO.. I told you last evening when we made the plan.. To take Vennela with us. But you were so confident."

"Okay paradevathe.. You were right okay? Now shall we leave?"

"Yeah.. I informed them that I will be there for breakfast. Its already nearing lunch."

"Stop being dramatic. Its only.."

Jai looked at his watch and widened his eyes.

"9?"

"Yes!"

"Come on. Why are wasting time. You all have no time sense. Let us leave.."

Vennela did damage control and walked out pushing others. Jai who kept looking at her, turned to look at Manasa and Arjun.

"I.. Well.. Lets go.."

Was all he could say before he followed his tornado wife, savingh his face. He did not mind the laughter that was following him. For now, all he cared was to safely take his wife to Iragavaram.
