Naagulu hit his forehead in the nearby wall.

Naagulu wanted to hit even harder.

"Edo okati.. Listen to me.. Let Vennela's kid be born without any problem. Then I will talk to Peddanana about us."

Ganganamma said and turned showing her back to Naagulu.

Naagulu gave one smile like in peppermint commercials making Ganganamma hit her forehead. Then he left her in the bus terminus and returned home only to see his whole family sitting the living room and looking at him standing at the entrance.

"Enti.. andhuru ikkade panchayat pettesaru?"

He thought to himself. Trying to smile, he went inside.

"Naagulu bava..."

Vennela called dragging in a sing song tone.

"Haa?"

He also repeated in same but shivering tone.

"Where were you?"

"Where.. Ante.. here only"

"Here ante? Where?"

"Vennu.."

"Rei.. Give her a proper answer."

Deva said in his impactful manner making Naagulu tremble.

"Athi... Peddanana.."

"Vedhava! Without dragging, answer fast."

Adi said in a threatening voice.

"I was in the.. The.. tea shop!"

"Gaali Vedhava!"

Adi said moving towards Naagulu intimidating him who in turn started moving back.

"Sooti ga cheppu. Where were you?"

"I was in the field!"

"Doing what?"

"Meeting Gangamma."

He broke out.

"Ganganamma!"

He heard two voices. Naagulu turned to see Ganganamma and Vennela standing giggling. He stood with his jaws dropped.

"Ganga..?"

"I know that you will not have the guts. So when Vennela came and asked, I told her the truth."

"Kompa munchavu kade!"

Naagulu mumbled.

Deva stood up and came to Naagulu.

"Enti?"

"Athi.. Peddanana.."

"Straightforward Answer!"

"Few months back, I met her and liked her and she too liked me. She proposed. But I said I will not accept without your consent.."

"Awwwww!"

Ganganamma shot daggers through eyes.

"Ante.. I too liked her.."

Deva chuckled.

"Pelli maata maatladadna? With her mother?"

Naagulu looked with his eyes wide open while Manasa, vennela and Ganganamma hooted aloud.

"Vennela.. Careful.. Stop jumping. VENNELA!"

Jai who saw his wife's childish behavior yelled to get her attention. But Vennela took his raised voice for a scold and started crying out loud.

"Vennela.. I am sorry.. But.."

Before he could continue, Vennela turned to go in but stopped taking a deep breath in.

"Vennela.."

Jai ran to her and held her from behind.

"Vennela.."

He turned her to face him holding her shoulders and saw her sweating bad. Seeing her like that, within seconds he started sweating so much that his shirt started getting wet.

"Rei! Bava..! Stop sweating and start acting!"

Arjun shook Jai who could do nothing.

"Huh?"

Was all he could say.

"Karma!"

Arjun said and was about to help Vennela to the room when Ganganamma and Lakshmi came to Vennela and Lakshmi started feeling her stomach.

"Amma garu.."

Ganganamma looked at Lakshmi who nodded her head understanding.

"Lakshmi?"

Deva asked tensed.

"Yem ledu Annaiyya.. Jai, Arjun.. Help us to take Vennela to room."

Soon Vennela who was moaning in pain was taken to their room and made to lay on the bed. Ganganamma went to Naagulu.

"Take everyone and go out except for Vennela's husband."

"Ganga..?"

"Listen to me. I am a nurse.."

"Yepudu seppalede?"

"You never asked. I came to this village looking for a job as I heard about the new hospital being built. I will tell you everything later. For now.. OUT!"

Everyone moved out except for Manasa, Lakshmi and Jai. Ganganamma too moved out looking for something.

"Athaiyya?"

Just then Jai found out his voice.

"Loosen her saree and lower it further exposing her abdomen like you do for Ultrasound."

"Athaiyya?"

"Athaiyya.. I think its better we send Jai out as he needs more attention right now than Vennela and he is of no use. Let Arjun handle him."

"Good idea. ARJUN!"

And Jai was pulled out as Ganganamma and Lalli came in rushing with two bowls in their hand.

Jai looked at Arjun in confusion while Arjun held his shoulders without showing any expression. Jai turned to look at Deva who was equally clueless while everyone else did not understand a thing.

Suddenly a bulb glowed in Jai's brain. He ran to the room and banged the door.

"VENNELA? ARE YOU OKAY?"

"She is fine. Stop breaking the door Jai!"

"LET US TAKE TO HOSPITAL. DON'T ATTEMPT ANYTHING AT HOME. LET DOCTOR HANDLE HER"

He yelled. Manasa came out opening the door and looked so angry.

"Arjun. I asked you to handle him and you are letting him bang the door and yell as if we are in Mars? Maryada ga Jai nee theesukoni ooru polimeru ku vellu! Come only when I call you."

"Manasa.."

"GO!"

And Jai was thrown out of his own house along with Arjun who took him to the village border as asked by Manasa.

Jai had a lot to learn.
