I knew this place would scare her. Right as I opened the door and we walked in she was terrified!

This is great! I said in my head laughing to myself.

The tavern was dimly lit, hot and sweaty. Her eyes went wide at the sight in front of her.

🐞Marinette pov🐞

Ruffians. check. thugs. check... Yep definitely not supposed to be here!

I thought as my grip tighted on my pan and I attemped to back out of the tavern.

"Not going so soon are you bugnette? We just got here" That stupid cat boy said as he walked deeper into the tavern.

You have to see the butterflies you have to see the butterflies! Follow your dream! I said in my head as I follow him inside.

I followed Chat Noir deeper in when -Oof!

Someone grabbed my hair.

"Girl! You got to tell me your secret!" I heard a female voice say.

I look over my shoulder to see a girl slightly taller than me. She had long thick brown hair that was orange at the bottem. She had olive skin and glasses. A loose white shirt on the went off her shoulders with a tight orange corset around her waist, a loose orange skirt that was covered in white paw prints, vines, and floral designs.

She stood in the center of the room. All eyes on her and her hand that held a small portion of my hair.

"Huh, uh, i" i was a stuttering mess.

"Girl your a mess. Come with me and ill get you fixed up" she said walking past me motioning me to follow.

I look to Chat for help. "Go on. Shes a friend. She dosent bite." He said. Sitting next to a guy with a turtle shell on his back and a sword.

"Sometimes" I heard the turtle shell guy whisper to chat.

"Ignore them. Lets go" the girl said as she grabbed my hand and took me up stairs to another room in the tavern.

The room was small yet cozy. It had a bed, dresser, mirror and small desk.

"So how did you get caught up with Chat Noir?" She asked sitting on the bed.

"Well..." I started.

🐾 Chat Noir pov🐾

"So how'd you get stuck with this girl?" My best bud Nino asked.

"Well remember that job I took with the devil and her minion" I said refering to Chole and sabrine.

"Yah" he replied

"Well I got caught in a situation and was running through the forest"

"Really" nino said with a slight smile and becoming more interested.

"I ended up ditching the other two, climbing a tower, knocked out, interrogated and now I'm stuck in a deal with this girl because she snatched the item I stole and won't give it back."

Nino was practically in tears laughing.

"And she resisted my smolder. No one resist the sholder before!"

I said practically yelling while nino was dying of laughter.

"Not funny bro" I said glaring.

"I cant believe the most wanted theif was robbed! And by some girl not even half his height!" Nino said hitting a fist to the table laughing.

"This is hilarious!" He said.

🐞Marinette pov🐞

After explaining my situation to this girl named Alya we actually had a lot in common.

"So this is really your first time out of that tower?" She said looking at my eyes.

"Yah." I responded looking towards the ground.

"Why?"

"What?" I questioned

"Why leave now?" She asked.

"Well, tomorrow is my birthday and all I wanted was to see the butterflies be released. And not just from my window in my tower but physically be there. For 18 years I looked out that window wanting to know what dirt or grass or mud felt like and feel the breeze in my hair or river water run over my feet. All I want is to be free." I said as I felt an unwanted tear roll down my cheek.

"Hey" alya said wipping it off.

"you said your birthday was tomorrow? Well I may have a treat for you" she said getting up.

"But first. Is that the only dress you have?" She asked.

"Yes why?" I asked looking down. I was shocked. My dress was now covered in filth. Spots of dryed mud clung to it and made it stiff at the bottom.

"Oh" I said in relisation.

"Here let me help you girl" Alya said opening a trunk that was hidden under the bed.

She pulled out a dress simular to the one I wore. It was a vibrent red with small white details along the skirt. The bottom had l a white lace under it and flowed easily. The corset had a sweetheart neckline with soft lace along the top as well. There where puffy shoulders and tight white mesh sleeves with lace at the bottom.

After slipping off her old dress to replace it with the new one she called to Alya who stepped out to give marinette some privacy.

"Girl! Its beautiful! And don't worry about this. Ill clean it for you" she said frabbing my old dress from my arms.

After thanking her once again I followed her to the kitchen, getting a slight glimpse at Chat Noir

"Great hes still here" I thought as I continued to follow alya.

"Here" she said handing me a small bag

"Happy early birthday" she said. I opened the bag and saw a small clutter of different colored macaroons.

"Thank you!" I said hugging my hpefully new and first ever real friend.

"Thats not all" alya said. She walked over behind the counter and pulled a lever revealing a secret passage.

"This leads Right to the kingdom enterence."

"Really! Oh thank you alya!" I hugged her so tight.

"Now lets get that little kitten over here shall we" alya said with a wink walking over to Chat and the other person who was with chat.

After I was introduced to everyone around the table alya told me to wait with the Nino guy while her and Chat had a 'talk'.

Alya was dragging me to the opposite side of the room and pushed me against the wall.

"Listen here Chat." She said sternly putting a finger to my chest. Now I was scared.

"that girl, Marinette, is probably the closest thing I have to a friend. ever. And if I ever hear of you hurting her in anyway or hear of any harm coming to her because of your actions you will be dead. Got it. She has missed out on so much in life and all I want for her is to have her dream come true. You better not take that away from her Chat Noir."

A death glare visible in her eyes.

"Yes ma'am" I said scared.

"Great! Don't mess this up! I want her dream to come true." She said smiling

"I had a dream once. I can't remember it though. After all a dream in a wish your heart makes when your fast asleep."

After a while Mari and I went on our way through the tunnel alya showed us and continued our adventure.
