Chapter 21
Adrien collapsed at home next to his wife, who was sitting feeding their baby on their bed. He ended up lying on his belly pressing his face into her thigh, and one arm across her lap.
"What's wrong kitty?" Marinette asked, knowing her husband wouldn't do that normally.
" My father wants to meet you and Louis tomorrow" he muttered.
"He does?" Marinette asked in surprise, Adrien's father intimidated her no end. Hearing that he wanted to see them she understood Adrien's actions. Adrien nodded, sounding exhausted, "Yes."
"Its ok Kitty, we can face this together! We faced the end of the world together, we can do this too!" encouraged Marinette.
Adrien rolled on his back and smiled, "You're right as usual, my lady, the end of the world was more scary! I wonder how everyone who survived is going?"
"Yeah, me too, but in a way not hearing from them, or Bunnyx, is a good thing, it means we are ok."
"I guess so," Marinette said as Louis finished feeding, "Did you want to burp Louis?"
"Yeah, sure, give him here," and Adrien sat up to take him."As much as I love this little bug noir, I miss being with you."
"I miss you too kitty, but I am not ready yet, but hopefully soon." Marinette replied. "Perhaps we should look into protection from further pregnancies."
Adrien shook his head in denial, "I want whatever we end up with, but ultimately it is up to you - it's your body."
"Well, I believe that too, but we are so young..." Adrien leaned over and kissed her silencing what she was going to say.
"Shh, bugaboo, let's just enjoy what comes ok?" Adrien looked into her eyes, resting his forehead on hers.
"Ok!" Marinette agreed, smiling.
The next day Marinette had dressed Louis and herself in lovely clothes she had designed, and made, and went with Adrien to see her father-in-law for the first time since they were married.
To both Adrien and her surprise it was like Gabriel was a different person with their son.
"He looks just like you and Felix," Gabriel observed, "Can you please bring him to visit more often?"
"Ahh sure Father," Adrien agreed, somewhat shocked by his father's freindly behaviour, "When did you want to see him?"
"Please come every Friday between 4 and 6?" Gabriel requested. "Marinette, I believe that I have some papers for you to sign." Indicating Natalie to retrieve the papers and give them to Marinette to sign.
"I want to look over them Father before Marinette signs anything. " said Adrien protectively, knowing his father can be tricky at times.
"Look to your heart's content son, the contract is a standard one, all my employees get. Even you have the same one." Gabriel was a bit saddened by Adrien's attitude, but he was not surprised, as he did put his business first, before even his own family.
"I still want to look the papers over, Father, we have a family to think of now." explained Adrien.
Gabriel nodded, only slightly understanding as he never really got the being a father thing. Emily was the nurturing one, its why he wanted her back so much. More so now that they had a grandchild.
