"Here." Cat Noir said as he led Ladybug into Gabriel Agreste's room.

"How did you know it was in here?" Ladybug asked.

"Uhhh... Just a hunch! When Simonsayz was over here, I couldn't help myself, y'know?" Cat Noir chuckled, "Now if I remember the password..."

Cat Noir looked at the padlock, then started turning the knob. He decided on his birthday, Mr. Agreste's birthday, his mom's birthday, then thought.

The date Mom died... Cat Noir put in the numbers, and the vault clicked.

"How did you do that?!" Ladybug gasped.

"It's just one of my many talents." Cat Noir smirked.

"Look, I don't see why we couldn't just wait for Mr. Agreste to get home."

"Okay, two things. One, we need to get it now. Two, he's not usually out at this time. So something's up with him, I feel." Cat Noir shrugged as he opened the vault door.

"Ah! Here it is!" Ladybug looked in and took the pin of the peacock, "So, this was his wife?"

"She died in an accident." Cat Noir said, then saw Ladybug staring, "er, so I've been told by that Adrien kid. He and I are pretty close."

"Wait, where is he?!" Ladybug asked, "We have to go find him, make sure he's okay!"

"I-I'm sure he's fine. Let's not waste our time on him." Cat Noir said, "let's just get this back to the Master."

"Uh, right. Right." Ladybug nodded and they left right away. But as soon as they got out into the hallway, Mr. Agreste was there.

"Ladybug? Cat Noir? What are you two doing in my house?" Mr. Agreste asked.

"Uh, we're sorry for the intrusion, Mr. Agreste, but we really need to take this. It's more than just a pin, and it could help us out a lot with defeating Hawk Moth and saving all those innocent civilians." Ladybug explained.

"Then... I don't think I can let you do that." Mr. Agreste said.

"What do you mean?" Cat Noir asked.

"I'm sorry. But I support Hawk Moth." Mr. Agreste said.

"WHAT?! How could you?!" Cat Noir yelled.

"He and I have close ties. He agreed that we can rule the world together. And with his powers, he can bring back what I had lost that was most dear to me." Mr. Agreste said.

Cat Noir looked down at the pin in Ladybug's hand, then up at Mr. Agreste. He looked at him in suspicion. Ladybug turned to him and saw the look in her partner's eyes. Something about him that was so familiar. Ladybug then had a sudden realization and gasped.

"Ladybug, you okay?" Cat Noir asked, turning his concern to her.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah. Uh, w-we better get going..." Ladybug said right away.

"Right. Sorry again, Mr. Agreste." Cat Noir apologized.

"Cat! Don't you see?! Gabriel Agreste is--"

"No. He... He can't be..." Cat Noir denied.

"You two aren't going anywhere." Mr. Agreste commanded.

"What?!" Ladybug and Cat Noir turned to Mr. Agreste as he pulled out a purple cane and hit it against the floor, making the door behind them slam shut and lock.

"No escape. You must get past... Hawk Moth." Mr. Agreste said, his voice lower.

"Uh, look. Sorry to burst your bubble here, sir. But Hawk Moth is at the Eiffel Tower right now. He can't save you now." Cat Noir chuckled.

"No... He can, and he will." Mr. Agreste said, a familiar tone in his voice.

"Wait a second..." Cat Noir whispered.

"Didn't you hear me?!" Ladybug asked, "why didn't you believe me?!"

"I..." Cat Noir started to say, but then his voice trailed off as they turned to Mr. Agreste.

"Nooroo..." Mr. Agreste opened his jacket, and his Kwami flew out, "transform me!"

Ladybug and Cat Noir gasped as Nooroo got sucked into Mr. Agreste's brooch, and he turned into Hawk Moth.

"I. Am. Hawk Moth." Hawk Moth said, and he started laughing evilly.

"We need to get out of here!" Ladybug said as she grabbed Cat Noir's wrist and pulled him upstairs and into Adrien's room, "out the window!"

"Right." Cat Noir said as he and Ladybug ran up the glass, opened it, and jumped out. But as soon as they got out, they were surrounded by bubbles and pigeons.

"No escape, dudes!!" The Bubbler shouted.

"Rooo! Roooooo!! Power to Hawk Moth!" Mr. Pigeon flapped up and down.

"Quick! Over the roof!" Cat Noir said, and they jumped up onto the roof, but were stopped by Antibug and Copycat.

"Ready for a rematch, Cat Noir?" Copycat asked.

"I've always wanted to take your place, Ladybug. And everyone can praise me!" Antibug said.

"Well, too bad. Because we're not going anywhere." Ladybug smirked.

"Ladybug! Look out!" Cat Noir said as he pushed Ladybug out of the way, and they expertly dodged Dark Cupid's arrows and Timebreaker, both who had just sped past them.

"Party's over, fools!" Stormy Weather giggled as she fist-bumped Lady Wifi.

"This is all going according to plan." Hawk Moth said as he stepped out onto the roof, "Stoneheart. Bring them along."

Stoneheart came up to the two, and before they could fight, picked them up, took Ladybug's magic yoyo and Cat Noir's staff, and walked with them, following Hawk Moth all the way back to the Eiffel Tower.

"So Gabriel Agreste has been Hawk Moth this entire time?!" Ladybug said.

"Wow..." Cat Noir thought sadly, "all this time..."

"I hope Adrien's okay. I still haven't seen him yet. And I'm pretty sure he wasn't at the celebration..."

"He's fine." Cat Noir said, "probably a little disappointed about this whole Hawk Moth thing, though."

"Yeah... But we'll be okay." Ladybug smiled comfortingly as they approached the Eiffel Tower, with the crowd surrounding the area and the Akumatized villains with them.

"My fellow Parisians! Prepare to look upon your new leader, Hawk Moth!" Hawk Moth announced, "and these are your heroes. Or at least what was left of them." Hawk Moth motioned Stoneheart to move. Stoneheart dropped Cat Noir, and Copycat stepped in and held Cat Noir's arms behind his back. And Stoneheart, still holding Ladybug, started climbing the Eiffel Tower until he got to the very top.

"Ladybug!!" Cat Noir shouted.

"Now, heroes, give me your Miraculous, or else!" Hawk Moth commanded, and Stoneheart then held Ladybug by her arm out, ready to drop her. And without her magic yoyo, she had no way of saving herself, "or else, Ladybug gets it!"

The crowd below gasped.

"LADYBUG!!" Cat Noir cried, "no..."

"It's okay, Cat Noir. Don't let him have your ring... Whatever you do..." Ladybug reassured him.

"On the count of three..." Hawk Moth said, "one..."

"NO!" Cat Noir shouted as he tried to get out of Copycat's grasp.

"Two..."

Cat Noir looked down at Hawk Moth, then out at Ladybug.

"Thre--"

"Father!!"

Everyone gasped, and sighs of relief resounded from the crowd, and even Hawk Moth turned in surprise.

"Adrien?!" Ladybug gasped and scanned the crowd. But instead of seeing Adrien walking up to Hawk Moth, she saw Cat Noir himself.

"Don't you dare hurt Ladybug." Cat Noir said.

"What trickery is this?! How dare you mimic your voice to sound just like my son's!!"

"But it's not mimicking..." Cat Noir said. He looked up at Ladybug, at the crowd, then at Hawk Moth. He held up his hand and held his ring. He looked up to see Ladybug's eyes wide. He smiled, took a deep breath, then pulled his ring off. He glowed yellow for a second, then in Cat Noir's place stood Adrien Agreste, "it's me, Father. I'm Cat Noir."
