Voices

Marinette was at home taking a shower after the battle with another Akuma victim again but the space station almost traumatized her but she had no memory of the events of how she and Cat Noir returned to Earth unharmed.

"Oh, those things slithering towards me and Cat Noir really gave me the creeps," Marinette said and grabbed her towel. Once she dried up, she got dressed and laid on the loft bed.

"Marinette, you feeling okay?" Tikki asked.

"What the hell is that thing?" The voice in Marinette's head said.

"Just a little groggy from the space station attack," Marinette said.

"That thing just vanished and you look normal," Tikki said.

"That's what she thinks" The gruffly scary voice said it in her head again.

"What was that?!" Marinette turned her head.

"Not what! WHO!" The gruff voice shouted.

"Marinette? What's gotten into you? What is what?" Tikki freaking out a bit.

"I think I need some rest" Marinette lay on the bed and fell asleep.

With Adrien, he was once again alone at the dining table and his father still broke his promises again that he would be eating in his office.

"I'm detecting frustration and sadness. You need to speak up more often!" The demonic gruffly voice inside his head spoke which made Adrien stand up so fast in a reflex.

"Who said that?" Adrien looks around.

"Kid, you've been acting strange since we got home. You need a shower to calm down" Plagg hidden in Adrien's jacket.

"What the hell is that?" The voice spoke again in his head.

"Agh, okay, okay! Calm down. I am just too stressed out all day. I definitely a shower" Adrien said, trying to not go insane.

So he took his empty plate up and left it in the kitchen before heading upstairs to clear his head in the shower.

"Your body is like being forced to eat tasteless food!" The voice said it again.

"Stop making me crazy!" Adrien can't handle the delusions he's going through. He clutched his head and then went into the bathroom to shower.

"Poor kid, space really affected him," Plagg said.

Adrien undressed and got into the shower, cooling his head with cold water, "Okay Adrien, you're just hearing things" Adrien said to himself.

"What I hear is you have daddy issues," The voice said.

Adrien tensed up again by hearing the voice. It was either his conscience talking sense to him or the blow on the head earlier really did a good job of creating a concussion but he didn't feel an injury in his head at all.

"Yes, but he needs to know when to have time," Adrien said to himself, applying shampoo.

"You're in denial. When was the last time he ever approved of you? Because I can see your memories have none of them!" The voice made him aggressive to squeeze the bottle of shampoo in anger.

"WHOA!" Adrien was in shock that he didn't do it on his own, dropping the shampoo.

"You are a coward with no free will. You may have freedom as the cat but not as the real you" The voice said.

Adrien got out of the shower, dried up, and got dressed, "This isn't happening!" He came out of the bathroom.

"Kid! Calm down!" Plagg panicked.

Adrien was hyperventilating badly from a panic attack and the creature inside his body didn't mean to make its host feel horrible like that. Maybe it went too far until it decided to trigger the response in the brain to calm down. He felt his palpitations slow down a bit without the fight or fright body made itself by from something else.

"I need a big break now" Adrien lay on his couch.

-

The next day, Marinette barely had much sleep, and a dark circle formed under her eyes.

"Oh, man. It feels like I had the worst sleep in my life" Marinette yawned.

"Maybe some breakfast will help you feel better" Tikki suggested.

"Right," Marinette heads downstairs to eat breakfast.

Waffles nearly satisfied her but she was interested in sausages and bacon without even feeling like choosing what she wanted to eat. It was cravings or her time-of-the-month symptom arriving soon.

"Yummy," The voice in her head said.

Unexpectedly, her hands moved and she wasn't doing it, "What's going on?!" She gasped.

"Sweetie, you feeling all right, honey?" Sabine asked her daughter.

"Y-Yeah, just a rough night" Marinette half-lied, "Um, perhaps sausages and bacon to eat in the morning," Marinette said.

"That's new for you but okay" Sabine shrugs.

"I'm just so hungry all of a sudden. Probably the....red flower blooming soon" Marinette made a figure of speech.

"Maybe" Sabine replied.

After getting some bacon and sausages to eat, Marinette felt satisfied and so did the voice in her head.

"That was delicious! This food is something you should eat!" The voice said.

"I'm gonna go for a walk to school, see you mom" Marinette got up and left.

"Don't be late for school, dear. A walk will surely clear your mind off" Sabine said.

"Yeah, it will. Bye," Marinette grabs her purse.

-

With Adrien, he didn't know how strong he was to smash his alarm clock like that but the noise really got him aggravated. It was like he became too sensitive to loud noises.

"Something's really wrong here," Adrien said.

"Either you got strong or hurt your knuckles badly but your hand looks fine" Plagg swallowed his cheese.

"Yeah, but I better hurry to school now," Adrien said.

"You do know your father is gonna go on and on about your schedule soon whenever you leave school early for that. Worse, he's gonna complain that your grade will drop because of him" Plagg said.

"Yeah. Well, I better get some breakfast before I leave" Adrien said and switched to casual clothing.

"Demand that woman to give you bacon and sausages!" The demonic voice said in his head.

"I think I stick to ham on the sandwich," Adrien said.

"Whatever process meat you eat but I am starving!" The voice said it again.

Adrien groaned at hearing the voice again and went for breakfast, specifically requesting sausage for the side of the breakfast. He also is not in the mood if Nathalie asks why an unhealthy meal but the voice in his head demands him to cooperate and not answer. Once she left, he ate his breakfast in peace, Plagg was getting suspicious of what was causing Adrien to act weird. Ever since the incident of whatever that thing was on the space station, it just feels like that's how it all started.

After finishing breakfast, Adrien got into the limo to be driven to school. But then he was covered his ears by a driver playing a very loud radio illegally to disrupt by the sound vibration of other drivers honking their horns. His bodyguard looks back in confusion seeing Adrien react like that.

"Aaaggghh!" Adrien can't take it.

Eventually, the music stops and Adrien sighs in relief.

"Someone needs a violation ticket," He said before pulling over to the curb of the school. He headed to the entrance and saw Marinette talking with Ayla.

"Dude, you look like you didn't sleep at all. Did your old man give you a hard time again last night?" Nino noticed the dark circles.

"No, I had insomnia" Adrien lied.

"Dude, you need to speak up to your dad because overworking can cause a lack of sleep. You need a break from modeling" Nino said.

"Yep, it's about time" Adrien agreed, yawning.

"A-A-Adrien?! Morning you....Morning to you...... I mean good morning!" Marinette stammered.

"Good morning, Marinette. Are you alright?" Adrien noticed she too looked tired.

"Yeah, just had a bad dream" Marinette lied.

"I see. Well better get to class" Adrien said and followed them inside.

"A tormenting class of hell from her" Marinette said, gesturing to Chloe telling Sabrina to carry all her class books.

"Careful Sabrina! These books are fragile! And you better not drop them!" Chloe warned Sabrina.

"Yes Chloe" Sabrina replied nervously.

-

As class started, Marinette opened her math book to begin. Class was boring as usual but the voices in their heads were making them crazy. Adrien and Marinette quickly excused themselves to use the bathroom.

Marinette closed the door and splashed water on her face, "Come on! Come on! Snap out of it!" She said frantically.

"Marinette? What's wrong?!" Tikki asked.

"That voice in my head! It drives me crazy!" Marinette said.

But when she looked in the mirror, her reflection appeared as a scary-looking reflection with a body covered in black with a white sclera and that creepy grin with razor teeth.

"EEEEEEEEK!!!" Marinette fell back on her bottom.

Lila comes into the bathroom because she made a lie to excuse herself to see the nurse since she wanted the opportunity to threaten Marinette again to make her stay away from Adrien.

"Having a bad day again?" She asked slyly.

"Ever heard of privacy?" Marinette was not in the mood to see her again.

"Your pulse is quickening. You feel angry about her" The voice said in her head.

"I do, but you running away today with Adrien seems off," Lila said.

"Stop talking about my problems with Adrien, Lila. And that's none of your business" Marinette said.

"Just remember what I can do, Dupain-Cheng" Lila warned her.

"Yeah, I know. You lie all the time but let me tell you something, Lie-la. People like me check their facts all the time whenever you lie about made-up things that never happened or existed. You can outsmart for all I care but you can't outsmart me or Adrien" Marinette said, having no idea what she just said.

"You better watch out, Marinette. I told you before that I can take all your friends away from you and you'll be left all alone" Lila cornered her to the wall just like before, "Ladybug ruined my chances with Adrien and I won't let you do the same like she did"

"This bitch is on my list to eat!" The voice said and it partially transformed Marinette's eyes and razor teeth to growl at Lila to back off, startling her in fright.

"AAAH!!!" Lila ran off in fright.

Marinette couldn't process what just happened.

-

With Adrien, he too was looking in the mirror. He didn't feel like himself all day and he sure predicted that his father would kill him if he had dark circles underneath his eyes for a photoshoot later on.

"I have to cancel it for today," Adrien said, about to head out but was tackled by Lila who looked frightened but Adrien was not stupid enough to fall for her lies again, "Agh! The hell, Lila?!" Adrien glared.

"M-Ma-Ma-Marinette turned into a freaking monster in there!!!" Lila stammered in fear pointing at the girl's restroom.

"Okay, that is just the most ridiculous lie I ever heard, Lila. Stop embarrassing yourself for once by trying to get close to me like I'm some kind of human trophy to you" Adrien said before gently pushing her off.

Marinette came out of the bathroom and Adrien saw she looked normal and not a monster, "Seriously? She's not a monster. I think your lies have messed you up mentally" Adrien shook his head before going to Marinette, "Are you alright?" He asked.

"Just a little stressed" Marinette said.

"What happened?" Adrien asked.

"I just tried to calm down when Lila bothered me," Marinette said.

"I thought so. She gets on my nerves with her lies again like last time with our photoshoots" Adrien said.

"Let's get back to class," Marinette said while Lila fumed in anger.

"Who the hell is that girl that touched you?" The voice in his head asked but Adrien didn't reply to not look crazy in front of Marinette.
