    Zoe's POV:

I  waved to Luka as I left his boat. I  felt less sad after spending some time with him. I sighed.

I   felt a blush form across my cheeks as I returned to my place. I smiled. I entered my place.

I shut the door and locked it. I frowned when my phone buzzed. Who was it?

I looked at the screen and freaked out. It was Luka. How? I don't recall giving him my number.

Did he ask someone for it?  I wrote a poem, then went back to checking his message.

This is what the message said,   "Zoe, I hope you made it home safely. Love, Luka."

I blushed harder.  Good thing, he could not see me right now. I would be mortified if he knew how attractive he was.

I texted him back, "Luka, yes, I did, thanks for checking on me. How did you get my number?"

He responded, "I might have texted Juleka after you left. My sister was more than happy to give it to me."

"You could have asked me for it," I texted him.

"I know, but I was nervous," He texted me.

"Nervous, about what? I did not scare you with the hug did I?"

"No, but I was surprised. I did not expect you to hug me.  I have not had a hug in years except from my mom and sister. Somehow, I don't think that counts," He said.

"I know what you mean, my half-sister Chole used to hug me all the time, but now she is busy with her boyfriend.  My stepfather hugs whenever he can," I replied.

"So, what movie did you have in mind for Saturday?" I asked.

"I was going to let you pick it out when you arrive," He said.

         "And?" I asked.

"And, I was wondering would you be okay if we had supper before the movie?"

I gasped. He wanted me to eat a meal with him too. Should I say yes to the supper? I hesitated for a few seconds. I was taken off guard by what he had to say.

"Zoe, you there?" He inquired in the next message.

"Yes, I am here. Yes to the supper by the way. Should I bring anything?"

Luka looked at the screen and smirked. Should she bring anything?  He shook his head. He only wanted to see her again. He hoped perhaps it could be a fresh start for them both. Was it bad he held hope that she felt the same for him?

"No, you just come with that gorgeous smile of yours."  He blushed, why had he said that?

I  smiled. Well, at least I knew he liked me. I supposed that was a start. How did I feel about him?  Honestly, I was not sure yet.

"Alright, I will try to remember to smile since you like it so much," I said.

"We will have a salad, spaghetti with meatballs, garlic bread, and brownies for dessert. I will make sure there is plenty of popcorn too. Oh, and the drinks will be iced tea, lemonade, water, and sodas." He stated.

"Okay, look forward to it," I texted him.

               "Me too," He texted back.

That was the end of the messages for today, but I could not stop smiling. Luka was so great.

I did not know what I did to make him notice me, but he had. I sighed. Was it too soon to hope he wanted more from me than to be a friend?

I knew one thing for sure, I looked forward to next Saturday more than he knew. I wished there was a way, I could see him again before then. How? It wasn't like he knew where I lived or anything. I supposed I would have to find a way to bump into him.

I slept well that night thanking about a certain bluish-green-haired boy who had tuned my heart. I dreamt of Luka and I traveling the world together. We went on all sorts of adventures. He took me to Italy, Japan, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, the USA,  England, Ireland, and back to Paris.  The dream made me long for more from him.

The next day, I woke up with this big cheesy grin. I sighed. What was Luka up to today? Dare I ask?

I got dressed, ate breakfast, then fixed my hair. By fixed, I mean I brushed it, and put a hair clip in it. I also put on some earrings and a bracelet. I removed the bracelet when it dawned on me my ex-boyfriend, Landon had given it to me. I did not wish to wear anything from him. I threw the bracelet in the trash, along with the concert tickets,  plane tickets,  clothes, and perfume. There, that was that, I thought.

I applied some light eyeshadow, mascara, and blush. Then, I packed some lip gloss in my purse and added my house and car keys, the key to my motorcycle, wallet, camera, phone, and the poem I had written. Finally, I left the house for a walk in the park, little did I know what a mistake it was.

"Hi, Zoe!" I heard the voice I dreaded the most.

"Go away, Landon!"   I shouted at him. I hoped he could take the hint.

Landon followed me. I screamed when he grabbed my arms. "Let go of me!"

"Shh, beautiful,  I only wanted to talk," He lied. "Fine, get it over with then, 'cause I have things to do," I said.

Landon shoved me into an abandoned building. Once inside he forced me toward a wall. He refused to let me go. "What do you want?" I spat out.

"You," He said. I gasped. Landon held my arms tighter. "Please, release me," I pleaded with him.

He did not listen. He kissed me against my will. Then, he put something on my arms removing his hands afterwards. To my horror, it was fuzzy cuffs he had put on me. No, I thought. Not now. After all this time, why was he here?  How had he gotten out of prison?  He was behind bars the last time I saw him. I had put him there, was this some sick version of revenge?  Cause if it was then it was not funny.

"I am not in the mood for your games," I said. "Too bad, 'cause I am," Landon spoke. He took out some rope and tied my feet together. Oh, no, it is worse than I thought.

He kissed me harder removing his shirt as he did. I cried, but he only laughed.

How will survive this?  Even if I do will Luka still be there for me?

"Stop it, Luka will not like it!" I shouted. "Luka, who is he?"

"He is my boyfriend, " I lied. "Wrong, you are mine, so he better back off," Landon scoffed.

Landon had been in prison for the last ten years. He had raped me in the past.    Why had he been let out?

"Why?  Why are you doing this to me?"  He laughed.

I braced myself for what was coming to me.

"Hey, what do you think you are doing, Buster?" I heard a voice yell.

"It is none of your %^%*&^& businessman!" Landon shouted back.

"It is my business when you are trying to harm my girlfriend," Luka yelled. He grabbed Landon and punched him. Landon yelped. Then, he tried to deny he was up to anything.

"I am not buying it, you scum." Luka scowled. He let go of Landon. He picked up my tank top off the ground and tossed it to me.

"Are you alright, Buttercup?"  He asked me. "Y-Yes," I muttered. I was so glad Luka had arrived on time.  Otherwise, the past might have been repeated. I did not want to be raped again.

I could not put the shirt on yet, because Luka had not gotten the cuffs off me.

Landon stood up and tried to attack Luka. "Luka, watch out!" I screamed.  Luka spun around and saw the knife Landon held.  I was afraid more than before. Afraid for Luka and me.

Luka hit Landon with his fist knocking him unconscious. He reached into his pocket pulling out a small key.  Using the key he got those horrid cuffs off me. Then, he untied my feet. I blushed as I put my shirt on.

I sobbed holding tight onto Luka as he led me out of there.    "Luka, I can't believe you did that for me." "I would do anything for you, Zoe," Luka said.

He picked me up, along with my purse. "Let's go."  "Go where?" I asked.

"I am taking you to the police station," He said.

I nodded my head. He frowned, locked the door, and we left.  At the station, I told the police all that happened, I made sure to mention the past event with Landon and how I did not understand why he was out of prison. I told them how he approached me, tricked me, and attempted to rape me. "He did not succeed this time, but that was only because Luka came to my rescue," I said.  "Well,  it is good for you that your boyfriend arrived on time," The police said.

I did not bother to correct them, neither did Luka. After my statement, the police assured me they would make sure to arrest Landon and see that he is escorted back to prison soon.

We left the station.  Luka took me to get ice cream. He said it was to cheer me up after my bad day.

He took me home and saw my place was a mess. I was afraid to stay. He agreed it was best if I didn't. He helped me pack some things and took me to his boat house. I stayed the night in his guest room.  I was grateful to him for all he had done for me.

   Time skip!

  Saturday was here at last...

Luka and I had a nice supper together. I picked out The Princess Bride. Luka agreed to it. He had offered to let me decide on the movie. After the movie ended, he held me close. "Zoe," he whispered.  "Luka?" I whispered. He kissed the tip of my nose. "Good night, Buttercup," He said.

"Good night, Luka," I said. That night I dreamed of Luka and I standing before our friends getting married. Yes, I know it is a bit crazy, but maybe I am starting to love him.
