How I Met Your Father Part 1 by Summer Cheng@SummerCheng37 (Feligami)
Description:
Kagami's children are acting out—no surprise there, as they often get in trouble. She and her husband Felix have six in total. Yes, you heard me, six. Three are triplets, then there is the set of twins, and last is the adopted child.
Kagami's POV:
I stood in the living room glancing at the gum in Suzzie's hair, the wad of rubber bands in Felix Jr's hands, the ink smeared across Ted's shirt, the stain on the carpet in front of Maggie, and last but not least the glitter all over Helen and Kara's backpacks.
"Okay, Everyone, attention, please," I said. "Yes, Mother," the children answered all at once. "Who made this mess?" I asked. It was a big mistake. I should have known better than to have asked such a thing. It was too late now; the words had already been spoken, and there was no going back on them now.
"She started it," Ted said pointing at Suzzie.
Suzzie looked like she wanted to cry. The others shook their heads.
I was not sure what to do first. However, judging by Suzzie's expression, I felt I should remove the gum from her hair.
"Honey, I am home, " A voice called out from the front door as Felix entered the house.
Oh, thank goodness, I thought. "Dear, we're in the living room," I replied. He came over to us and laughed. Can you believe it?
"It is not a laughing matter, dear. I prefer you to help me," I told him. You are right, dear, " he said.
"Dad is such a romantic. I want to marry someone just like him when I grow up," Maggie stated. She was the next to oldest of the group.
"That may be true," I smiled. "Did I ever tell you, the story of how I met your father?" I asked. I was cleaning the gum out of Suzie's hair as I spoke. I was glad her hair was not too waded since she had such pretty curls.
"No, please tell, us," Maggie begged. She was working on removing the carpet stain with the carpet stain remover.
Felix Jr. returned the rubber bands to the study, then returned to help Ted change into a fresh shirt. He sure hoped the ink stain would come out. He knew Ted would cry nonstop if it had to be thrown out since his grandmother had given it to him.
"Thanks, I appreciate your helping him, Jr. I do my best to save the dinosaur shirt," Felix said as he took it to the laundry area for washing. He made sure to spray extra shout stain remover on it.
Helen tried to eat the glitter, but Kara stopped her. "No, Helen, glitter is for arts and crafts not for eating, sis." She scolded her.
I dried Suzie's hair. Then, I started to talk about how Felix and I met.
"Once upon a time in the past, way beyond before you were born, there was a young boy named Felix and a young girl named Kagami. The two lived miles apart. They had no notion that they might meet. Felix was around eight. Kagami was around seven.
"One day Felix moved far from home. He was sad because he left all his friends in London. Kagami had moved into a new town as well. She had two years to adjust to it before Felix's arrival."
Anyway, Felix refused to talk to anyone at his new school. That was until the day he saw her. She was standing by her locker when some bully came up to her.
"Hey, smurf girl, what you doing?" He scoffed. "The name is not Smurf girl. My name happens to be Kagami Tsurugi so there," She yelled. "Too bad for you 'cause your name is as bad as your looks. You are so ugly. You are not that cool either. Stinks to be you, huh?"
"She, I mean, me, braced myself for impact since the bully held one arm tightly and had a fist held near my face. I was frightened. I closed my eyes. Only I felt nothing."
Felix was shocked by what he saw. How dare whoever he is be so wicked as to pick on a girl? He had to do something. He walked over to the mean kid and punched him. It was then he noticed how cute she was. Wait, what?
"Ew, it is a mushy story," Ted said. "Yes, mushy," Helen added.
Kagami looked at her watch. "I will tell you more tomorrow. It is getting late. It is time for bed."
"Oh, rats, it is just starting to get good," Maggie whined. "I know it was," Suzie remarked.
"I liked it too," Kara stated.
Once the kids were tucked in bed, Felix and I went to our room. We found time to spend some quality time together before it was time for us to get some sleep.
The story continues in... How I Met Your Father Part 2
